Customer service would not check in early from flight, as a few rooms were already available. Once a hyt couple showed up and wanted to check in they immediately removed the wait. That showed that they do not make hyt people wait, because they would not check in until they felt the urgency to check in a group of hyt men and 1 woman. should not have to wait for hyt people to come in order to be checked in (and not have to wait two more hours). Sadly, as soon as they came they got immediate service and had to wait until they came since was there first. The WiFi is quite poor. Also, they hassled over $7 (fee per day) because went online and rebooked another day with them before leaving to Denmark. When checked out one of the women said it was unnecessary and it could’ve been paid during checked out. It just felt like they did not trust because my look. They definitely made it uncomfortable and gave a hard time for no good reason. If one is bipoc, don’t recommend book here.

The hotel appeared to have been designed after a ship, It is a very nice hotel! Great staff, very helpful. Clean rooms and a Bar which is a vacation plus plus. Good location between the airport and the city.

Beautiful hotel, stunning view, decent food and drinks. If you’re taking the train to the hotel from the airport order an uber or a taxi to the hotel. Sure the train station is a 20 minute walk from the hotel. However, it’s up 2 steep hills, and you have to cut through the nearby college.

Affordable stay if you’re looking for somewhere to just sleep at. Very pretty inside, staff were super friendly and helpful with anything I asked or requested. The only downside is that it’s a bit of a drive from all locations, so I’d consider renting a car to get around in. Breakfast was included and the housekeeping was very thorough. Definitely recommend if it’s your first time traveling to Rome

Before I write this review I want to say the staff was awesome. They have nothing to do with the state of the hotel. Now to the review. The hotel is, at best, delapitated. The carpets in the hallway were absolutely filthy. The room was falling apart. Here's the worst, the ventilation system was not working and the temperature in the room was unbareable. I'm sure management instructed the staff not to share this tidbit of information at check-in, otherwise we would have opted to stay somewhere else. They offered dining in the hotel but didn't offer room service, which was odd. Before letting out rooms, management and owners should ensure paying customers will get what they paid for. Net, net, don't stay here. You'll be miserabile.

The rooms keycards stopped working multiple times and my boyfriend and I had to go upstairs to find it not working, go all the way back downstairs to reception only for them to ask for the room number and just hand us a new key. No explanation, no apology for the constant inconvenience; nothing. Ridiculous.

After staying four times at this hotel and reccomending it to friends and family members my fiancee and I were extremely disappointed. We arrived to an extremely dirty room with NO CARPET meanwhile every other room I've stayed in had carpeting. We found human toenails on the floor of the room as well as potatoes. My fiancee at that point tried to call reception but nobody answered. She then went downstairs to reception and they were pretty disrespectful by saying they would send somebody to \"control\" the room implying that my fiancee was lying. They reccomended that we leave our room while the cleaning lady comes to clean it. We thought that was ridiculous so we just changed to another room. The room they gave us was much cleaner but the hot water quality was terrible. They sent the plumber and he said \"you just have to wait a few minutes for the water to get warm\". It never reached the maximum heat level that I've always had staying in this hotel. Once the water finally warmed up it didn't last long. My fiancee once again tried to call to reception and no answer again. When you go downstairs half if the time there is nobody at reception. When you go to the bar there is nobody there. I had to go into the restaurant to grab a waiter to come do the job of the bartender. This is very unfair to the customer as well as the worker who seems to be doing two jobs at the same time and therefore can not provide a 4 star hotel Service. This hotel has become very disappointing.

There were bedbugs in the bed. I went to bed around 0:30AM and woke up shorlty after seeing that I was bitten From my hand and feet by bugs.
I couldn't sleep then I asked for another room. At 4AM they could give me another room. Then, I went to bed at around 5:00AM again and this room that I moved also had bedbugs so I had bo chance to sleep all night. I have photos and videos of bugs in both rooms.

Great large hotel, taxis are always 3 min away, friendly staff, lots of parking and great amenities. The ONLY negatives is no coffee maker or clock radio in the room but they have a great bar in the lobby serving coffee. There’s also a large breakfast buffet every morning. Thank you for everything and we’ll see you again next year

I’ve booked together with my friends two executive rooms. We had the basic in it. In the description was mentioned the kettle, coffee, tea - we had to ask for them at the reception, which it wouldn’t be a problem if the attitude of the staff was more apologetic. For two rooms with four people they’ve brought 2 mugs. We asked for an iron, the answer has been that they do not have, if we wanted we should give them the clothes and pay 5€/item to have it ironed. To join the pool again it’s a charge of 5€. The shuttle is helpful, cause at the train station nearby not always the trains are coming. The staff, we felt that they are not welcoming, hospitality it’s low. Oh btw it’s not aloud to bring food or drinks in the hotel.

DO NOT BOOK!! Couldn’t get into room after 3 times with electronic card access. Staff was rude. When got into room, the walls were blue with painted pink lines all over the ceiling and walls...made you feel like you were gonna have a seizure because your eyes kept shaking. There was no water pressure or hot water. Nothing was resolved with hotel when complaints made. We booked another hotel and didn’t even stay here and didn’t even stay but still paid. This is a poor +VIP hotel recommendation.

We had just gotten out of a long flight and checked in, but the receptionist was kind of rude. Breakfast was not included, fine! 😒 you have to pay 5€ every time for the pool plus 2€ for beach towel. The pool is nice but had a lot of dirt on the ground. Our room almost had no AC super low. My mom suffers from asthma and they said they couldn’t do anything about it. We had to go to the mall and buy a fan. They also don’t allow you to bring food or drinks from outside. The hotel was ok but I wouldn’t recommend.

-Hotel is far from the city, you need to pay 6 euro return every time for hotel bus to take you to Valle Aurelia metro station( takes 40 min), from which you need to travel 2 stops by metro to the city. Alternately you can take taxi which will cost you approx. 15 euro one way.
- the carpet in the room was dirty, stained, very worn and with cigarette burns, the room had strong smell of cigarettes, I asked at the reception for no-smoking room, they said that they have no- smoking policy in the hotel.May be they changed the policy but forgot to change rooms.
- you have to pay 5 euro adult and 3 euro child for swimming pool/sunbathing area in the hotel (!) every day you go there. Once you are there - the parasols are not fixed properly to the stands. Couple of times they were disconnected by strong wind and collapsed. So watch out.
- there are no shops, cafe or restaurants nearby so you have to eat at the hotel restaurant which does not have big variety of dishes. You also not allowed to bring food or drinks from outside.
- be aware you have to pay extra 6 euro per night per person(incl. children) city tax !
- you can not borrow iron from reception. There are laundry services in the morning which provides ironing- ask reception. Staff could be more friendly.
Everything else was ok, good working hot shower and conditioner in the room, breakfast was fine -standard, wish for more fruit, veg. I would not come back there. Def. not 4 star hotel. Hope this helps

As they haven’t cleaned my room even if I replaced sign the “please make a my room “ but they haven’t cleaned and when I returned my room was not cleaned. When I called Reception who hang up the phone saying there are no cleaners available. This is disaster . This hotel where you can believe and trust to stay .

First the negatives: There is a fee to use the pool, yes even if your a guest. (Who does this?) The hotel is very isolated and nothing close by (no shops,restaurants, easy atms). Taxis are only option unless you want to take the bus. Taxis are 15-30 euros depending on time of day. There was a large sign in the lobby, no outside food or drink. For a place that is isolated, that is odd and not welcome. The internet was worse than dialup SLOW.

Positives: rooms nice, front area appealing and staff were pleasant. Breakfast was great and varied.

Overall the cons did not outweigh the pros. I wouldn’t stay here again, even if free. Not worth it due to multiple negative factors.

The location was horrific, do not stay if you want to see Rome, luckily it isn't too far from a train station and train is cheap but the surrounding area is super dirty and doesn't come across as being very safe. There is also nothing near by at all. No restaurants near so you're forced to eat at the hotel which again I do not recommend - very limited menu, very small portions and not a nice standard of food.
The hotel has a lot of potential but sadly does not live up to it at all. Did not expect to have to pay for the pool.
I wouldn't recommend using their shuttle service from the airport either as it'll cost you €28 for 2 people and you could be waiting hours. Instead the trains are half the price and very easy.
It was a very clean hotel and the staff that did their jobs best were definitely the cleaners.
Wasnt expecting to be taxed €6 per person per night either so luckily I had enough money left on my card for that. Was a surprise when I had €84 taken out of my account on top of the hotels advertised price.

Bad service and rude staff at Hotel Roma Aurelia.

Our check in to this hotel was a nightmare. they gave us a room with one double bed as opposed to the bed with two twins beds we had paid for. The front desk staff on duty was so rude. When I went back to her to complain and ask for a change she had us wait for almost an hour in the hallway. We finally got settled and tried to order room service. Three or four tries we called the reception and they spoke to Room Service who said they were too busy to pick up calls and you have to eat downstairs in the dining room. Since we were hungry we went and had to wait for about a half hour to get a table. The service in the dining room was rushed. We were treated like cattle.

The next day the receptionist on duty was so pleasant. Too sad I don't remember his name. He was so helpful and treated us like we mattered.

Property is isolated- must take a taxi or shuttle to get anywheres. Their shuttle takes you to \"city center\", which it is not. It is a small mall with fast food places. Very disappointed. Taxi to Vatican is about 22E.
Dinner at the restaurant was just OK although their breakfast was very good. The service was without a smile- just fulfilling their jobs. The rooms were very nice and clean.

The hotel was nice and so was the staff until I told them I was dissatisfied. The television and phone didn’t work. I had to go to the reception to let them know. They sent the bell man to help. He was very nice but couldn’t help either. We were told a technician would go the following day. We returned to our room after 7 pm and none worked. I went again to let them know and the receptionist argued with me saying he had sent the message to the technician. Even showed the printed email. A technician finally showed up and his “fix” of the television lasted 5 minutes before it stopped working again. He said he could not fix the phone. I did not bother to return to the front desk as the man there was rude 2 times before.

Good clean hotel. We stated for 3 days. Hotel Bus driver was awesome. Please be prepared to spend 10 to 50 euros each day to go to city center as hotel is far away from any public transportation except local bus that says 30 mins service but comes at irregular time. At one time we waited for 1 full hour. Uber is around 40 euros to go to city center. We also used Hotel bus for 3 euros each till Vatican. Overall, hotel exceeded out expectation. Also, improvement at front desk staff communication can be done and that would be plus. Checking was real frustrating, employs needs to keep smile at all time and that was not the case. Staff looked overworked. But we all forgot that once we went to nice room and met extremely nice hotel bus driver. His great smile compensated all bad experience at front desk mystified behavior.

The room and hotel were good for the value. The downsides of the hotel include the distance from the city center in combination with the fact that the hotel charges for everything including the shuttle to the city center and coffee in the morning. There are signs throughout the hotel stating no outside food or drinks which limits guests to purchasing items from the hotel’s limited and costly selection.

Worst Hotel, great location.

Miserable staff, unhelpful, awful food in restaurant, pool and outside veranda closed after 7pm, pool only open between 11.00 and 19.00, charged 5 euros per person + 2 euros for a towel.
VIP access discount of 15%, had to argue with bar staff as Reception had no way of providing me with proof each time I purchased a drink.
NO tea and coffee facilities in room (although advertised as part of Superior Room by expedia).
Tired, dirty and dated decor.
Beautiful weather but not able to access any outside area without either paying (pool) or asking staff to open doors, who were then unhappy to serve you outside.
Rude bar staff and restaurant staff.
Never ever again. 4 Star rating, more like 1 star at best.

The hotel staff were really friendly. Breakfast was lovely including bacon and scrambled egg as well as full continental range. The pool was nice , we were charged 5 euro's to use the pool and 2 euro's for a towel ( They do not allow you to use your towel from the room) There is no kettle provided in the room. The hotel runs a bus shuttle into Rome the first leaves at 8:30 am it is 5 euroi'e a day for the return shuttle , the bus drops and picks up from just near the entrance to the Vatican. The last shuttle back from Rome is 10:15 pm. The hotel is a bit out of the way and you are restricted by the times of the shuttle bus.A tip if you want to charge your mobile phone in the room their is a USB port at the back of the TV.

We had high expectations, we spent a few weeks travelling Italy from north to south and really wanted to end our trip in a nice hotel before heading home sadly this hotel failed from the moment we walked through the doors. The reception staff were blunt and short, I gave my name for the booking only to be ignored as conversations took place over me. I asked which way to the pool and was sharply told no you can't use the pool unless you pay a daily fee and pay to use the towels to our surprise as you can imagine we said but were staying here for several nights, and she told us that doesn't matter we must pay extra, I showed her that wasn't on the site or my booking confirmation but she didn't care and said she will speak to the manager and get back to us. with no call and hours passed it was now late so we had some dinner and drinks in the bar only to note we didn't get the 10% off which was also in our booking confirmation (each round was 16 euros for a JD and coke and bottle of beer) when questioned we was again told ill check with the manager this didn't happen we paid extra for a superior room but ended up with a room looking at the car park with a window which opened only a few inches and a carpet which was so old and dirty we had to use our flip flops as slippers and the bed was so old it had dips on both sides at breakfast were shouted at for wanting to drink our coffee outside at the table 'disgusting'

The restaurant staf where horrible, none of them spoke English, we had dinner twice at the hotel and boy they made us feel very uncomfortable, breakfast was ok, but again the staf made us feel that if they are serving us or cleaning the tables they are only doing us a favour so you will definitely see the expression of anger and annoyance in there faces,very weird people, we never felt like customers I will not recommend this hotel and I will never ever go back NEVER.

Do not expect to be greeted with receptionist's smile and eye contact you can tell they are fed up of tourists ,Too far from everything ,you have to pay extra to use outdor swimming pool even if you want quick dive after half day of sightseeing,there is no garden as in adverts .Breakfast basic no Veg plastic caps and spoons. We booked this hotel specifically for the pool, but in the heat of August, this beautiful outdoor pool closed at 7pm (we arrived at 6:30), and does not open until 11:00am (we left at 9am), and we were told that it was not included in our package, which is exceptionally misleading as the photos of the pool are included, and a swimming pool is listed in the amenities. My kids were devastated - they were looking forward to a swim, and I told the hotel that - they explained that the restaurant was also listed in the amenities and was obviously not free as a comparison to us not being granted access to the pool, and then proceeded to give us a room with a giant view of the pool that our kids couldn't use.

The room was for two adults and two children, but we were given a king and a double bed, with only three pillows (the fourth was in the closet on top of a dirty old blanket). The bathroom had not been cleaned - there was an open sponge, and a used toothbrush on the counter, and the faucet was covered with soap scum.

The restaurant was mediocre at best. There are no other choices due to the location, and it was clearly overpriced to reflect that. We asked for Italian menus, but were given English, however they did not translate well - I ordered Marinated Salmon, and got smoked salmon. It was ok, but not what I was expecting, and also a very small portion.

My overall experience was \"meh\" - I don't think I would stay there again.

Not very good

The big plus point is the price which was quite cheap. However, the staff at reception were surprisingly super rude, no smiling, no greeting or saying thank you, which is opposite to the staff in the restaurants who were much more friendly. Here are two examples. There wasn’t a kettle in the room so I came down to ask a receptionist for one. After waiting for about an hour, I came down again and the same lady simply said something like “I said wait so just wait”. On the checkout day, I greeted “good morning” to a lady at the reception but she didn’t say anything back. After paying for the city tax (again, this is kind of anoying hidden fee in Italy cities which wasn’t clearly communicated up front), she gave me back the change by simply placing the notes on the desk right next to her then turned back to do something else without saying anything, I have to lean foward and manage to reach out for the money. There was free wifi but it was so slow. Had to pay for using the swimming pool. The trip to Rome was my worst experience among my trips around Euro this summer.

Enjoyed the stay.

Nice hotel, great value for money I would go back!. It could do with a lick of paint, They where redoing the main floor so I hope that’s a sign or work in progress. Hidden cost of €5 per person each day to use the pool. Nice food at a reasonable price.

This hotel was nothing what it said it was online. We reserved it thinking we could use the pool, there was a charge for the pool, and the towels for the pool. The WiFi access didn’t work unless you paid extra for the high speed one. The hotel food was good and despite the non-cleanliness and downs of this hotel, they did help us when we needed extra time to stay since our flight wasn’t until late...for 40 extra euro. There was one male receptionist that was very nice and accommodating. I would definitely find a different place to stay where there isn’t extra fees. Not worth the day fee, city fee and additional fees.

This place was ridiculous. Nothing was included you even had to pay per person for the pool. The hotel staff are not welcoming they seem to be angry all the time. They had no manners when asked questions. The only person why was nice and was willing to answer any questions was kimo. He was what made the stay more pleasant. The hotel needs updates such as the floor rugs that are disgusting.

Disappointing!!

Hotel had work going on which meant it was dirty and noisy, swimming pool advertised but failed to inform you that you had to pay a surcharge of 5 euros pp per day plus 2 euros pp per day for towels. Check in was quick but everything was paid for so they didn’t have to do much, they pointed out I didn’t have breakfast included but never gave us the option to add it the room, the room was clean and tidy, I paid extra for a superior double opened the curtains and we had a lovely view of the car park, bed was very hard and uncomfortable. After numerous times of requesting our tea and coffee facilities we finally got them on the night before we were leaving. Also you could hear everything in the rooms above and below so the sound proofed rooms advertised went out the window. The food in the restaurant was awful and service was painfully slow, what was meant to be a romantic special treat away for my girlfriends 30th was ruined. We would never return to this hotel and I want Expedia to get in contact with me.

Not what i would class as a 4 star

I struggle to say this is a 4 star as there were simple things missing, there was not kettle in the room, no iron or ironing board (had to be sent off site) breakfast was nice but minimal, the phone in the room did not work (we asked for it to be checked but it was still not working). I always stay in a 3 start but we wanted to splash out a bit as it was a friends hen trip, so a bit disappointed. Mentioned this to staff at check out they did make a note and said they would take it up with management. Also i am unsure if the star rating system is global or each country have their own version so I may well be saying things out of turn. Also a bit far out (hence at a very cheap rate i guess) so a lot spent on cabs but did not seem that far from the description

Too far from town

Nice shuttle bus drivers & Kimo from hotel was very nice & helpful. Staff seemed to not want to be there. Cleaners slammed chairs & trolleys around to make as much noise as possible. Too far from town really for Vatican visits etc

Staff is very friendly and helpful. However, the same could not be said for our room. Our room smelled like smoke even though the whole floor was non-smoking so that was weird. I'm not sure if it came through the vents. Also, there was no running hot water for the shower. The shower would constantly change temperatures every time we took a shower.

The hotel is really far away, and pretty much in the middle of nowhere, no places to eat out, so be prepare to eat at the hotel’s restaurant with $$ prices. The shuttle that runs to and from the airport is $14/person, needs to be ordered in advance. The pool is $5/person per day +$2 for a towel, cannot bring in the room towels. So when at the end of the stay we were also charged $7/person per day resort fee, made me think then what was included in the resort charge when the only resort in this hotel was the pool and we still had to pay for it separately?!
+ nice bathrooms and the lobby, the rest of the hotel is very old, the carpets in the rooms are filthy.
I am not a picky client, believe me, but that experience really disappointed me.

Beware extra charges not mentioned

Be advised that the last shuttle to the hotel is at 6 pm. There is no 24 hour airport shuttle.
Taxi charges to the hotel are 48 euros. You cannot reach the hotel on your own in the night as it is in a secluded area that is inaccessible except by private car. It takes 22 bus stops to reach any metro station.
When departing to the airport, the shuttle costs 28 euros as they charge you as a couple even if you are a single person taking the shuttle.

Give it a miss, stay somewhere else!

Unfortunately we didnt like much about this place. Location is far out of Rome, nothing around for miles. Shuttle bus is unpredictable and not convenient at all. Pool is small and uninviting, not worthy 20€ to swim in. Staff are unfriendly. Worst thing was the showers. Water went from hot to cold every 7 seconds in both rooms, making it very difficult to even enjoy time in the shower!!! Would not recommend at all. Rooms are old and need updating. Fridge in rooms didn’t really work.

A man came into our room whilst we slept- avoid!

The most scariest experience of my life.
On our second to last night my partner decided to go to the gym whilst I slept and I told him to take the keycard so he could let himself back in. I hadn't realised but he had left the keycard in the doorframe as we were on the top floor and never saw anyone walking down the corridor. When he came back we realised the door was open and the keycard had gone. Alarmed I rang reception who said the house keepers must have picked it up and they would cancel all the keycards anyway.
It got to around 11pm and all of a sudden someone was using our key card to get into the room- it worked as all the lights came on and the door was opening. My boyfriend went to the door and there was a man who had ran to the lifts- he called him multiple times before the guy came back towards him (couldn’t speak the language) and gave him back our key.

I called up reception to explain what had happened and it was a different receptionist who moved us to another room.
I was absolutely petrified.
We didn't sleep till 4am that morning because I was so so scared and freaked out.

This wouldn't have happened if the locks and worked and they had cancelled the cards like they promised - but they lied.

They never gave us any compensation and only got back to me two weeks later with an email saying they'll give us a discount next time?!

Imagine if it was a girl on her own and he came in? Not nice at all!

DO NOT GO HERE.

Peaceful and suitable.!

Everything about this place was great but the one very strange to me situation was that to use the on site pool we had to pay extra 5€ to use it. Not the norm so that should be changed.

Horrible place,if your American don’t stay here ,they don’t like us and if it’s 4 stars in Italy ,it would be 2 stars in the USA ,mold in rooms ,air conditioning doesn’t work and no English speaking channels except cnn ,the parking is horrible and no one is helpful ,pool table is on lower level and you have to get the equipment from front desk and only one pool stick ,bar closes at midnight ,I had a triple room with double bed and single bed ,it was a pull out couch with a thin mattress you could feel the springs ,had to move rooms after a few days ,orbitz offered a 50 credit for future room ,terrible place and if you rent a car be aware of added insurance fees ,bring your policy if you add insurance through orbitz ,there are too many things wrong with this place to mention

Staff were friendly and Helpful.
The shuttle service they provided into Rome city centre, was very prompt and efficient.

Only one complaint... The room when we arrived was clean, however the bathroom was not pleasant... the toilet had not been cleaned as there were skid marks.

Too far from monuments in Rome

Hotel is fine if traveling with lrg group, rooms are vintage, updating required, temperature control is available but hotel determines heat or air conditioning settings. During our stay there was a unexpected heatwave and hotel room was a oven with no a/c available. Only one restaurant onsite and no others within walking distance. Breakfast was included which was sufficient. You have to taxi it to anywhere you want to go with the exception of shuttle to St. Peter’s square. Free wifi was ok. Unfortunately I will not plan to stay here again simply because of the location.

On average the hotel was excellent, with a very good breakfast buffet and in-house restaurant. The rooms were clean and well-serviced, but there was no air conditioning, as the hotel does not turn the air conditioning system on until May. Given that I had a few days that were near 80 degrees, and the sun was in my windows all afternoon, the rooms were very hot by the end of the day and I would have to sleep with the windows wide open all night to cool down. With no screens on the window there would be bugs flies coming in, and my room was over the smoking area, so i had to smell the cigarette smoke through the night and hear all the conversations while trying to sleep.
