This hotel was very nice in a very good value is very close to the airport and 2 miles from the city center. Taxis are required. Please ask them to turn on their meters or confirm the price to your destination before getting in them.
Their restaurant La Scala was excellent!! I told them they deserve at least one or two Michelin stars. it is a great value incredible service and excellent food. Overall, this hotel worked great together as a team and you could tell how people are that work here. They were very helpful in booking excursions. Their restaurant buffet is excellent and the service is very good.!
I was very happy to stay here for five days and now I’m at the Palazzo Tirso Which is €500 a night versus €100 a night for hotel Sardinia. A great value! I would recommend this to anyone that wants to come to Cagliari…. Kevin W

Very nice hotel. We stayed one night, primarily for convenience as only a short drive from airport. The hotel is not far from city centre and, although we did't use it, understand it is v near a bus route in/out. The area around the hotel is largely residential/light industrial, but it felt safe. The room was spotless, quiet, had very comfortable beds and a great shower. We had dinner in the stylish restaurant which was tasty and reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet had a good range of lovely hot and cold options. Staff were courteous and helpful.

Good hotel close to the airport

I needed a hotel for one night, close to the airport and this definitely worked: nice, clean, comfortable and 7 mins taxi from the airport terminal, friendly staff, I arrived after midnight which was not a problem at all.
Good value for money as well.

When we asked about the arcade/games room and nearby health club, staff said there wasn’t any. Perhaps the arcade/games room that was advertised was the small kids area?
Overall the hotel was clean and staff friendly and accomodating and one quick bus ride in to the main part of the city.

Location is far away from center, not many options to eat around, my room was VERY small, I felt that I got the “leftover” room at the end of the building. Breakfast starts at 7am so if you have an early flight you can’t enjoy it.

Disappointing stay

The airco was not working in the room. When asking the reception for help, they advised us to open a window (which overlooked a petrol station and busy road). We paid for breakfast but it was not provided. After eating at the restaurant, one of us was sick the whole night. After flagging this multitude of issues, the hotel sadly did not provide any consolidation.

The property is a good stop if on way back to airport, have family rooms and that is about it really (and they have car parking). The staff were not particularly welcoming on arrival, we were going to eat in the restaurant (which although overlooks a car park from the food reviews appeared good) but asked if they would do French Fries for our younger son (which they do at lunch time) but they said they could not - their loss as we saved a lot of money and had food at a fantastic pizza restaurant nearby (10min walk) - the breakfast was okay but asked for a coffee (not out of the machine) and response was 'hang on' - he never came back. This is a business hotel, for families I would suggest you book more central hotel as its a long way out - the other hotel we booked at the start of the holiday was fantastic in every way compared to this.

The property needs an update. One of the rooms we booked the door jam fell to pieces and we were asked if it was a problem. When they noticed we were not amused the upgraded us to two rooms. The wait staff in the restaurant for the most part were good however on Easter Sunday they were having a special dinner which we didn't want so I asked at front desk if they were still doing dinner for other guests. They answred yes you can still have dinner at the restaurant. I asked if we had to book and they said no.
We turned up and were asked if we had booked i said no we were told we didn't have too. The waiter replied that they were busy. I told him he needed to take it up with front desk.
He proceeded to rush us through dinner. For someone that was busy he still had time to talk to his 15 or so year old son who was on his computer in the lounge down stair.
I say avoid this hotel.

Pros: Nice breakfast, nice room and bathroom, free parking, near to a car rental, free bicycles for guests' use, good access to city busses for getting around without driving, pleasant multilingual staff

Cons: Out of town a ways and if you arrive by air and don't rent a car at the airport, the cabs charge 15 or 17 euros to take you 3.5km. Rooms are a bit small, but not out of the usual for Sardinia. Using buses requires having tickets before you board, and the hotels don't sell them (but will tell you where you can buy them nearby, if open).

Unfortunately on the eve of our departure for Australia, the power to the room went off and could not be restored. No torches were available so we had to make do with the phone torch to gather up our belongings and shift into another room on another floor. That was at about 3.30am. We left for the airport at just after 5.00am. Not a happy experience

Paradise on the northern tip of Sardinia

Overall wonderful hotel in a stunningly gorgeous location. Pros: next to a nature reserve, great pool and ocean access - very rocky and wild with excellent swim spots, rooms facing the ocean have breathtaking views. Cons: restaurant was mediocre, rental bikes were decrepit with flat tires and broken brakes (easy to avoid by not renting one)

Great hotel - everything just works

Everything from check-in to check-out worked very smoothly at Sardegna Hotel.
This is a clean, modern hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast and high quality food in the lunch / dinner restaurant. Quite a few parking spots on the hotel grounds (free) and once they're taken you get to park on neighbouring streets (also free).

The two only things I'd like to draw attention to in terms of 'not amazing' were the toilets and the beds. The bed was very, very hard and both the bed the and toilet are incredibly low. Please note if you're elderly, have just had surgery or maybe just suffer bad arthritis, you may struggle.

Other than those two points we felt very happy about our stay and would easily consider checking in again next time we arrive in Cagliari. It's only a short, easy drive from the airport. Thank you.

Strange area with nothing to eat around. We arrived at 15:00 and we had to wait until evening to go out for dinner. Really bad location. The hotel has nothing to offer you about snacks. The breakfast was really nice and rich with fresh croissants and other things .

Really liked this hotel and short stay.

Perfect for business travellers

I was on Sardinia for business and I wanted a hotel close to the airport and that's exactly what I got. The hotel is on a dividing line between an industrial area and a residential area. In fact, on the residential side of the road. This was not an issue for me nor, it appeared for the other guests and there were plenty of people staying at the hotel, who were obviously on a business trip.

The hotel itself was immaculate, tastefully decorated, well laid out and staffed by very helpful and sympathetic staff. The food was excellent and worth the premium cost. One of my pet hates is being approached during a meal to be asked if everything is OK - aside from the fact that I would surely let someone know if it wasn't, the person asking always seems to wait until you have a mouthful of food before they ask you and then, when you do reply, I'm not sure they are prepared for a 'No'. However, I had none of this charade here. The waiters in the restaurant were consummate professionals and although I was aware of their presence, it was not intrusive - full marks!

I would have liked a pick up service from the airport to have been available, even at a small cost but that is really my only niggle.

I booked a single room for one night, the room size is ok, the shower is separated from the rest of the bathroom just by 2 sliding doors so the water runs pours into the floor. Breakfast is average, I was expecting to find a wider choice. Anyway the hotel is very clean and tidy, my room was silent and quite comfortable except for the pillows,too thin.

Hotel was completely fine, Cagliari is a short train ride from the airport. The only drawback was the hotel being a little bit from the city centre, beyond walking distance, the buses were frequent and inexpensive though. Breakfast was solid. Staff spoke good English. I would stay here again.

If you have a car this location is okay. But you are not near anything important.

Nice hotel close to airport, but lacked A/C

We stayed there from June 6 to June 9, and had booked our room on Expedia. Hotel was supposed to be air conditioned. At check-in, I inquired about that and front desk staff told me A/C was inoperative, but would be fixed in the morning. Saturday, I asked again and was told it was not being repaired before we departed. At check-out, I was told the system was on a 20 day changeover perod from winter to summer, and would not be cooling soon. On the last day, they offered to move us to a room on a lower floor, because the top floor (6th floor, where we stayed) was very hot due to being closer to heat outside. Would have taken the offer on Day 2, but not with one night left. We could only tolerate temperature by leaving all windows in the room open at night. I hate to bash them, but this was rated as one of the best hotels in Cagliari, and was recommended to us by friends there, and simply didn't live up to its billing. The uncomfortable room temperature killed an otherwise good experience.

Wifi is a bit of a faff, you are given a different password each day and it does not work in the rooms. Breakfast is pleasant enough. Neighbourhood is not that great and it is located in the middle of a number of blocks of flats and behind a petrol station. There is a bus stop outside from the centre, but the bus to the centre is about a 10 minute walk away due to one way streets.

We stayed here after arriving from Sicily. Arriving late at night the desk staff were polite and helpful. The room was well proportiond and very nicely appointed.
Breakfast (included) was a typical Italian breakfast. All in all a good experience.
