Slow internet. Pool was dirty. AC in the room was good with ceiling fan. Expedia posting says laundry service but I asked front desk and was told they would come by later but never did. Staff were weird and didn’t seem like they wanted to help and then within 2 seconds of walking away they went back to making Tik toks. Fridge smelt like it had a leak and toilet worked sometimes. The price made it somewhat worth it but I would personally look elsewhere next time.

This hotel is very run down and tired. The staff are very helpful but can't make up for the fact that this hotel needs a bit of an overhaul.

Most all the rooms booked by our group had an issue with the plumbing. One of them even had a small electric fire caused by the instant water heater burning its heating coil. And the shower floors just became pools of water that refused to fully drain as the floor lacked a slight gradient to the drain.

The hotel is also inconveniently located and it would take close to half an hour to walk to Alona beach despite it appearing deceptively close on Google Maps.

The teenagers did enjoy a diving adventure organized at the hotel. So I guess if you are into diving and on a very tight budget then this one maybe for you.

In a quite location with its own beachfront but not golden sand , hotel needs some refurbishment and investment but we had a lovely stay room was cleaned each day , staff were lovely and friendly you can walk to Alona area In 25 mins or a quick tuc tuc ride , did some lovely diving from the dive shop on site , equipment was really good and the local reefs are stunning , if you want a nice quite spot to stay in then it was perfect

I didnt appreciate the staff having a party in the family room 1 right under my room. They karaoked until morning time with disregard to other guests. Hotel next to this property played house music till about 2 am. Hotel did not have ANY fruit drinks besides pineapple juice from the bar and they did not have hot water in the room. The beach isnt really a beach for swimming or diving. Its where the fishing boats park. I would pay more to stay at a more comfortable hotel. This hotel is more for the locals.

Bohol Sea resort overall is a great place. Pool very well maintained and clean. The on-site dive shop people were super friendly and informative. Food at the restaurant was good although a pretty limited menu.
The only thing I found disappointing was the beach. It's just a few steps from the pool, restaurant and cottages but at even high tide, the water is shallow for 100-200 meters before reaching deep enough to snorkel.
Proximity to Alona beach is a 100 peso trike ride. (5-10 minutes).

Nice place, a little worn and older. Staff is great and accommodating 👍. Pros: Big rooms, big bed, big refrigerator, shower is separate from toilet👍, big balcony/patio, strong aircon, tv and several channels, good storage, nice pool, large restaurant. Cons: far from restaurants and Alona Beach, beach is a boat parking lot, food is not great unless you ask for things you want and modify the menu (which staff is happy to help and comply)(we bought rotisserie chicken and limo from Paengs across the street and had the hotel make steamed mixed veggies, so it was a good experience 👍. Would recommend for people who don’t want to be on Alona Beach and don’t mind walking or tuktuk back and forth. The town near the hotel has lots of convenience stores and local food options.

For the price this resort is everything you would need to have a relaxed experience. The staff was very kind and extremely helpful. It had a feeling of coming home every time I came back from going out. The swimming pool is very enjoyable. Over-all, Bohol Sea Resort was a very positive and memorable experience. I would definitely come back.

This is solid 2.5 rating hotel. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable.. WiFi is slow inside the room. Nice pool and restaurant although the food could be better... water pressure in shower is weak .. rooms have a fridge and safe.. market is across the road .. 5 minute trike ride to Alona beach or you can walk... about 1.5km... trike only costs 100 pesos .. I like this place, good value for the money .

Lovely and very colorful hotel.
The room was clean and very comfortable - as it's all in bungalows, you feel a lot of freedom, if you don't feel too sociable.
They have a nice pool (though we didn't use it), and whilst it is set on the beachfront, it's not the nicest one, and whilst we were there you couldn't walk or swim there. If you're after pristine beach, you do need to go to Alona.
It's not too far from the main stretch of the beach and town, though not quite walkable (we had a bike)
If you don't mind the extra drive, and want nice, comfortable and peaceful hotel, this is certainly a great choice

The resort is in an area away from the main city center which is nice if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle. Everyone is very kind and accommodating. However there are not really any other restaurants close unless you drive somewhere.

Very good choice for Panglao

Good choice of hotel with a pool. Service is good and staff helpful. The beach in front isn’t nice at all as it’s occupied with fishing boats and also quiet shallow.
The hotel is abit further way from the main beach for the ones who like it quieter.

Bungalow style of a hotel. The room is simple but is clean and cozy. The swimming pool is decent enough; the lounges are my favorite part. The restaurant serves very good food. Best of all, the beach is just at the back of the hotel. Nothing to complain, really!

It was very clean. Rooms were well air conditioned. Staff were very helpful and attentive. It was quite a bit out from Alona itself a 100P tricycle ride each way. Couldn’t do much swimming in the sea due to the numerous boats docked. But lovely food, facilities and staff! Enjoyable stay!

I know this sounds petty, but i reslly wanted to pay cash but they charged my credit card. In addition i wish that my patio area had been cleaned of all dishes after we ate. I actually bussed my own! Other than those two issues, we had a very good time. The food was darn good.

The hotel is overall not too bad but, be warned that the beach there is terrible condition.

There is no one yes, but for obvious reasons. Maybe we went there at a very unlucky time.

The rooms are OK, but there has been an episode of broken hot water for the bathroom.

It took them 3 attempts and more than 18 hours to fix it. Ultra frustrating.

Lovely bungalows right by a small beach. You have to go quite far out if you want to swim though. There is a dive centre here with very helpful and welcoming staff. The staff in the resort are all very friendly. It's a 1km walk to the main street where all the restaurants are or a 100 peso (£1.20) ride in a tricycle. So it takes a few minutes to get to Alona resort where all the bars and nightclubs are but it's extremely quiet in the Bohol Sea Resort itself.
Would highly recommend if you want some chill time but then have the option to go out for food and drinks.

The resort was very cute with a lovely pool on site. The hotel restaurant was ok food and similar price to the other places. There is nothing super close by so during our 2 day 2 night stay we felt a bit stuck. It’s about a 15 minute walk to Alona Beach area which isn’t too bad but at night gets very dark to be walking. I would recommend getting driven back to the resort in the dark. The resort also has happy hour and was very helpful in booking information for us. The AC and bed were reasonable and the room had a nice little patio out front as well. I would stay again.

The staff took such good care of us, laundry service was excellent, housekeeping was great. We wish we had more time to go diving as the team seems very knowledgeable but we explored local beaches and the island instead. Great stay!!

Good spot for a scuba-cation

We stayed a few nights and liked it. The staff is very nice, good pool, plenty of snorkeling and scuba options right from the hotel. Next time I will wear a full wetsuit though since the jellyfish were out in full force. The bathroom left a bit to be desired but for the price point it was fine. The room is quite small for 2 people but totally manageable. Alona is only a 50 peso trike away but I think I preferred staying here because Alona is quite crowded. The hotel's beach is not for swimming and has a fair amount of litter scattered about. But again there are other beaches within a 10 min walk or $1USD trike ride. Security was mindful of people coming and going and I felt me and my belongings were quite safe. Thanks!

Pillow killed my neck for the next few days. Food options are fairly limited and you are a good 20-30mins away from alona beach. Nice resort, but not really a beach resort as its full of boats and not much sand to lie in. Stayed here for 2 nights, then we moved somewhere else.

My boyfriend and I loved Bohol Sea Resort and the view you get during sunset.
We were greated with a dink upon arrival.

The beach is not for swimming, just for relaxing and enjoying the view and fresh air, or having a massage when it;s a bit windy.

12min walk to Alona, or just take the tricycle, there are many passing by. We didn't try the restaurant here, but the room was well decorated, it had hot water and complimentary toiletries, Ac and fan. the TV was working well (in Cebu was terrible). They also offer complimentary bottles of water daily.
They clean your room daily and eveyone is very friendly and helpful.

A quiet place to rest

Th hotel is really nice. Rooms are spacious and the restaurant is pretty good.
The pool is nice and you have a direct access to the beach. Keep in mind that Danao beach is not maintained and that the water is very shallow. you will have to walk far until you can have your knees into water. Only this hotel pushes the branches and trash that come to shore. You will not be able to walk along the beach as it is full of garbage.
Be aware that you will need to get a tricycle to get to town as it is not walking distance.
Their hammock were awesome.
Overall this place is very quiet and would suit those who want to be away from town and just rest.

Didn't enjoy my stay here.

Room was small and had a claustrophobic feel with bathroom wall enclosing your bed.

The air con unit is directly above your head meaning that your absolutely freezing or roasting during the night.

Shower had zero hot water.

Staff on the most part were friendly, smiled and said hello. However when you actually asked them to do something that's when the smiles faded. I decided to try the restaurant for their lunch menu one afternoon.
No other customers around, just me.
I had to approach them for a menu, sat waiting at pool lounger with menu down for 15 minutes and not one member of staff came over to attend. Bearing in mind that I was in full view, in an empty restaurant is terrible customer service. I took the menu back for them and went into the town to eat elsewhere.

On that note, Panglao beach is a good 15 minute walk away along dark busy roads. This is a good or bad thing for some as you're away from the nightlife of alona. But with tricycles costing 100 pesos it was inconvenient for me.

The management 'apologised' for the lack of service by typing out a lousy apology and sending a housekeeping girl (lovely person) to do the dirty work for them. A face to face apology from management would have been much appreciated or a lunch on the house.

I won't be going back here nor can I recommend the hotel to anyone else.

On a plus note, the security man was very friendly and always waved and welcomed me into the grounds.

Peaceful Resort

Great resort approximately 1km from Alona Beach. Very quiet and restful. Just the break I needed from a hectic travel schedule. Excellent room (traveling solo, so I stayed in the standard room, but bungalows are available). My room was very nice and the furnishings were above par. Instant hot water in the sink and shower. Wifi was not good in my room but was excellent at the restaurant and pool areas.
The landscaping was beautiful and the entire place was immaculate and well maintained. I especially enjoyed the pool.
The restaurant served good meals at reasonable prices.
It has its own private beach, although not great for swimming.
A dive shop is on site and the operator, who I believe is also the owner of the resort, was very nice and accommodating. The staff friendly and helpful.
No doubt I would return for a stay should I be on Panglao Island in the future.

Fell in love with all the character and charm this beautiful petite resort offers. Started as a five night stay and we extended for another six. Staff that you can become friends with, always going out of their way to help with anything! A small bummer is the beach out back is not the best, and the trade off for this is the diving right \"literally right\" out back is fenominal. Alona beach is quite close if the beach is your thing, about 2km. Food is wonderful, talk to Henry \"the owner\" about some of the special items you can order mmmm! I would be back in a heartbeat. And the saving begins again!

On the beach

We stayed here for almost a week and loved it. It's right on the beach and they also have their own pool. It's safe, quiet and comfortable. The restaurant has really good food. You can walk to Alona Beach in about twenty minutes. There's laundry service nearby. The room was comfortable and had cable. We also did a snorkeling trip with them and they were super nice.

Nice Resort tucked away from the world.

This resort was exactly what I was looking for. My room was super quiet. I never heard a rooster once I closed the door. The staff was great and handled all of my requests including setting up our Chocolate Hills private tour. There isn't really a beach on this side of the island, but you only need to walk 1KM down the road to get to the beach. It was nice to see the sites.

Stayed at Bohol Sea Resort for 4 nights. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable. The food was very good although a little pricey. The beach in front of the hotel is a mixture of sand and rocks, so you need booties to walk there. But the tidal pools during low tide are great to see all kinds of aquatic life. We also took their snorkeling trip to Balicasag island. The snorkeling there was superb.

Relax, dive or go on day tours

Stayed at this hotel for a week and it was very nice. Staff are very friendly, housekeeping cleans your room everyday and the food is really good. Did some diving and they were very professional and kind. This is a German run hotel, the owner is from germany and the diving instructer (we had) as well :) You can rent motorbikes and go see the tarsiers and chocolate hills or they can arrange day tours to the surrounding islands.

Weekend for One

I spent a long weekend here just getting away from the city. I was welcomed by Henry and he explained all about the resort, everything from meals to things to do. The staff called a tricycle to take me to Alona beach one afternoon, and I was able to do an intro to diving course another afternoon. I was the only one doing the intro but it was still professional and fun. Good wifi coverage in the room and pool/dining area; did not reach to the beachfront though. The food was good, especially dinner which changed daily and is written on a chalkboard each afternoon. This was a great place to get away if you are looking for a quiet retreat.

Beautiful and romantic place for couples

We loved this resort!:) We stay at small houses which are very beautiful outside and inside, around many flowers, trees. We saw there was small gym, we haven't use it. There is big swimming pool, it's amazing made. Then close to this is restaurant also awesome made. Next to that is small beach i think there can be used diver lessons - not sure as we also not used this:) Girl who welcome us at check in is like “friend\" than \"worker of hotel\" so atmosphere was more like You are join friends or family house. Where You can meet cats Ingrid and Princess:) Person told us cats like travelers and there was also dog as she told us but i think doggy was too shy and didn't know name of dog:( At rooms is remote controlled air con, cable TV and WiFi is working on whole resort without problems (fast enough to upload photos to Facebook haha). We also hire trip car to visit Chocolate Hills or Tarsiers. We are highly recommended this resort! Amazing! Thank you very much for this place to owner and kind workers:)

Interesting place, may not be for everyone though.

Right away you'll be greeted by the owner, who will tell you all about their services and how they run the resort with helpful tips and give you options of getting around. It's a nice change of pace from hotels that just give you a room key and send you on your way.

The resort is really nicely built, from the diving shop, to the bar, restaurant, and actual rooms. The pool is always nice and warm, and gets to about 7-8 feet deep on the far end.

The main downside for me was the resort has no blankets, I've been to dozens of hotels all over the philippines and have never seen this. You'll only find 1 fitted sheet, 1 flat sheet, 2 pillows and 2 pillow cases on your bed. I'm guessing the main reason for this is they are a small resort, and don't have the capability to wash a lot of items(probably the same reason you'll only get 2 towels, and none available for the pool area) It's of course much more bearable if your sharing the bed with that someone special, but I did find myself waking up several times at night because of this.

The beach is also not fit for swimming, which I think would be a downside for a longer visit. In high tide there's usually only 2 feet of water for the first 100 feet of ocean, and you'll find lots of weeds, shells, and sharp things to step on. In low tide it just turns to mud, and sharp rocks.

If your looking for a quiet area to get away, eat good food, enjoy the bar, pool and peace and quiet this is a good choice.

Short but most enjoyable stay

Immaculately clean, well organised hotel. Great pool area and really enjoyed the daily happy hour as opportunity to meet others.
Food freshly prepared was very good.
Quiet hotel but only P100 from Alona Beach.
Our stay was too short - we will be back.

The staff were amazing. Very pleasant surroundings The pool was kept clean, I mean all day. The pool attendant was always there.The food was cooked to your choice, and what time you would like to eat. If you would like to go to Alona beach, you could rent a motorbike, for 10 dollars a day. Or just walk up to the end of the resort and pay 40 pesos, which is just about one dollar. to get a ride on a motorbike to town. It was so quiet and pleasant,

Quiet oasis in Bohol

A small (about 20 rooms) quiet, clean, well-managed, beautifully-landscaped, and restful resort.
About 2km from Alona Beach which is a noisy, over-developed strip with lots of bars & shops. We took the 20 min walk along the road to Alona (not possible by beach as there is jungle between!). Return journey by tricycle after buying a few things in the local mini-store.
Apart from a day-long tour of Bohol (arranged by hotel) we stayed put enjoying the beautiful environment in the resort. Everything is close by and the open-sided restaurant is the focal point and meeting place. We sat in the soft chairs there when it was raining (quite often, but still nice and warm). The beach is kept clean in front of the resort but a bit messy to either side. You can find some nice shells among the seaweed and fishing boats, as local kids frolic in the water.
Diving school on site but we just tried snorkelling around the coral outcrops in the shallow waters close by - saw some great marine life without getting out of our depth!
Restaurant has extensive dinner menu, including some veggie options, tho we were asked to order early as everything is cooked from fresh.
Hanshee, the German manager is omnipresent and sorts out all problems quickly and in English!
Happy hour is 5-7 with all local beers and cocktail of the day half price. We met some other European couples over drinks and the pool table.
The grounds are beautiful and all this within 30 mins of Tagbilaran airport.

I am a frequent Hotels.com traveller and this hotel represented the most deceptive write up that I have found. We stayed 1 night and left with the proprietor informing us that the only way to receive a refund for an 11 day stay (even though advanced cancelation was indicated) was through Hotels.com. To date, no response from them either.

\"AWESOME\"

Food was awesome. Excellent quality and quantity for the price. Not cheap but home cooking.
Rooms was well maintained, could use a ceiling fan and maybe a table and chairs but otherwise perfect.
Grounds were meticulously maintained. I see lots of complaints about the dirt road to the hotel and being far away from Alona. Call a trike and you are there in a few minutes. Even the walk is not that long. Remember folks you are going to the Philippines and it is not going to look like vegas. The staff was excellent, super helpful and very knowledgable, as well as the owner. it is not a party resort but a place to get away and enjoy some quiet time. If you want to party walk down the road to Alona. I will be back for sure to enjoy some of the famous diving. Got certified while I was there, now I need to come back to enjoy more of the beauty.

One of the best place to stay near Alona Beach

The place is not beach resort however they do have well maintained clean beach. If you are looking for the beach, you need to go next door. It is mostly for scuba diving and any other diving related activities. They have a great scuba school and their dive master to take you many places. The water is so clean and visibility is very high. The food at restaurant is excellent of local and Western cuisine. And price is very reasonable. How good they are, I usually don't like to stay hotels where they offer free breakfast. Because they don't offer quality breakfast. So that is exactly what I did this but I ended up eating here every morning, what is so good ...I will give you one of the best preview...Bread, yes, Bread ...fresh and warm bread. They give you several kinds, they all so good. You almost feel that all you need ...The place is beautiful, the owner's wife take care of landscape and it shows ...it shows her personal thoughts and touch, if you are interested in landscape , you will appreciate it.

Good value, good stay, would return

This place is great, especially for guests wishing to avoid Chinese New Year crowds from the mainland. We highly recommend staying here. The owner is very knowledgable and the staff super friendly. The food is good and the location is quiet. Consider upgrading for a larger room if possible. This is a good place to go to from Cebu, with a lot of excursion offerings I the surrounding area.

Very nice secluded resort with peace and quiet

I had a wonderful stay at the Bohol Sea Resort. It's located in a quiet and secluded area at the south west end of Panglao on Danao Beach. I had a 3 night stay there. They have a nice pool, nice breakfast area (free breakfast included), and a pool table and bar area. Also a Dive and Snorkel shop onsite and a private beach area as well. I did some Snorkeling there and seen some amazing fish, star fish, and got some great video with my Go Pro Hero 3 video camera. I stayed in a Deluxe Bungalow and it was very nice, clean and spacious with Air-Conditioning (Much Needed!!), an in room digital safe, small refrigerator/minibar stocked with some waters, beers, etc for a reasonable charge, TV and in room WiFi. I met the 2 German owners and they were really nice and accommodating. The entire hotel staff was really nice. It's a little far from \"Alona Beach\", but you can get there by Trike, Motorbike or Cab if you don't want to walk. I would stay here again on a future stay to Panglao and Bohol.

Great to relax, not to party

A quiet German run place, with friendly stuff. Cute little pool, and at the beach. Food can be ordered at premises which isn't wow, but expensive. take a 10 minutes motorbike drive into town to eat. I needed peace and quiet, and I'm not into eating so this place was good.

Nice but....

The road the place was on was terrible.... You could only go 2 MPH to get there. The lock to the front door was messed up and it always took a few tries to get it open. The bathroom door was messed up also, it would feel like it was locked when it was not and you had to mess with it to get the door open. Other than that the place was very clean and secluded and quiet. Go out side the gate and there was nothing nearby and what was there were run down shack/houses.

Great Dive Resort

Bohol Sea Resort is great for a short stay and the staff are helpful and friendly. They have a Dive shop onsite and very informative dive guides. Our only recommendation (which was relayed to them) would be for them to install some fans in the restaurant area due to the humidity!!!!

Hotel is just great. If you want to stay a bit away from the noise of Alona Beach, this is the perfect place. Just 10 minute drive or 25min walk from the main beach, this place is great. Amazing staff, great owners/managers...makes for a wonderfull vacation time! Would go back to the same hotel without thinking about it. This is a great choice!!!

Far from town and attractions on dirt road.
Don't recommend taking children they will be really bored.

The hotel itself is nice enough, but if your lugging baggage please note that there is no paved road to the hotel. You must carry your luggage thru the sand (beach front) to get there. Hotel was nice, check out staff was pretty incompetent tho.

Excellent Place to Vacation

The resort is in a quiet location, about a 15 min walk from busy Alona Beach. The resort is beautiful, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the food is amazing and really well priced and the rooms were clean! The beach at the resort isn't the best for swimming, but Alona Beach is only 15 mins away walking, or about 5 mins by motorbike, which pass in front of the resort about every 5 mins. I would absolutely stay here again.

Save Your Money

I can only say that the place was sadly disappointing.
I was greeted with a \"what do you want\" approach.
Offers little to no amenities without additional costs. When I was inquiring to a staff member as I believed the breakfast buffet was included, the owner interjected forcefully that, \"Nothing is free!\"
I felt shunned as I am unable to speak German, apart from the architecture, the staff and the fact that is in the Philippines, there was nothing Filipino about it. Just another over-priced, same old drivel menu available most anywhere. I could not even have a glass of water without additional room charges.
Save your money, just go to any of your local accommodations, offers pretty much the same.
