All staff are very friendly, approachable, polite and their kindness and professionalism should be commended. Our room #210, second floor is outstanding and the ocean view is absolutely amazing. My husband enjoyed their clean swimming pool as well. Location is few minutes from downtown and the Alana Beach. Just take Tok tok for 150 pesos, so cheap. We’ve enjoyed all the tours, Bohol is a beautiful place to visit.

Everything is broken. The faucet, the toilet, the washroom reeks!

The room is extremely small. It was a complete dosappointment. When you are showering water stops midway and you have to come down to ask them to give you some water.

The toilet does flush. The food is disgusting. I ordered nachos, calamares and pizza. It arrived cold the nachos were stale. It made our stay absolutely horrendous!

We actually only slept there for the night and left.

We are not coming back. But I gotta say the staff is nice but with what you pay aint worth it.

It absolutely made us not want to go back in Bohol.

Pros: Friendly staff. Decent breakfast. Unobstructed ocean view.

Cons: The ocean does not look as good as Alona beach, which itself is not very impressive. The hotel is very noisy when the planes depart/land. The noise continues until 2 am in the morning. Check the google map and you’ll see the hotel is lined up perfectly with the airport runway, causing this noise.

Solo scuba diving in Bohol

It was in the quiet side of the beach but still close enough to walk to. The food tasted home-cooked and delicious. The service was friendly and very helpful. They found me my own private tuktuk driver to take me around as I was traveling solo. The hotel was clean and I had a good stay.

The view out to sea was good. At 6am every morning the tourist boats would start thier noisy diesel engines. Pool is very good and clean. Breakfast was excellent. The shore either side of the hotel was very dirty with litter.

The staff were fantastic. The services the hotel offered were good, including airport transfers, tuk tuk for local travel, laundry service and really nice food. I wish I had checked my final bill from the hotel, as several food items appeared on it that we definitely didn’t order. Although not a big deal it did amount to over 1500 php. Maybe each time a guest uses any facilities, the staff could get them to sign the bill each time, this would minimise errors. But overall a great place to stay.

Sweet Home is an ideal place in Tag. Great location, nicely decorated, clean, comfortable room and very helpful staff. It's close to shops and mall. Breakfast was good and the Mang Inasal next door was convenient. Highly recommended.

The views were amazing from my room. However the toilet had a leak and the floor was always wet. The breakfast included was minimal and add on were expensive. But the staff was fantastic. Its a 4 dollar tooc tooc ride to Alona beach area. But there was this street food place a couple block walk that was phenomenal for 7 bucks!

The beach area is not great, it would have been nice if the area is cleaned/maintained on a daily basis. Front desk service is good, but dining service is not (only one person, and sometimes you have to wait awhile to see somebody) I understand it's a small place. Breakfast was good, mango juice in a can terrible, I'd rather have fresh calamansi juice juice or fresh buko. When you're in an island and fresh fruits are in abundance using juice in cans or powder form is terrible. I am from Dauis, I just need some rest before going home from a long flight, I love how quiet the location was.

The food was really nice and the general location was good by the beach. The 2 times we ate at the restaurant in the evening, it was around 50 mins from taking the order and it being served with no one else in the restaurant and the drinks arrived after the food even though ordered at the same time, so nearly an hour for the drinks. A lot of trip hazards especially round the pool where we saw someone fall down the front part of the pool where the infinity water goes as they didn’t see the gap and could have been very serious. The rooms in general were nice but the bathroom and the cupboards were quite dirty and could see water stains on the roof and many cracks in the ceiling, the people selling on the beach were persistent, wouldn’t leave you alone and on one day was basically stood next to the pool trying to sell stuff to people in the pool, and trying to pay for anything was very hard if you wanted to pay with cash as the staff didn’t seem to know what to do when you tried

Our room's hot water did not work for the entire stay, 3 nights. We had to take a freezing cold shower, every time. We told the reception multiple times, and they did nothing on the first day. The second day, they had a repair person look at it, but that didn't fix it. They did not book us into a different room or reimburse anything. On the final day, they said they would give us a free ride from the hotel to the ferry station \"to make up for our bad experience.\" But then they booked us a tricycle/tuc-tuc instead of an actual car. So that's like a $5 reimbursement. Also, their beach is dirty and you really cannot swim there.

Facility and grounds were clean, but there are repairs that are needed. Broken floor tiles around grounds and driveway. Bathroom fixtures need replaced, but were functional. The service is excellent. We used Nino as our trike driver for whole trip, and he was.excellent with fairprices. The food in hotel was very good, and they even brought it to my room. We chose this location away from Alona Beach, but it only takes 5 mintues by trike and 150 pesos.
Hotel can book your county side tour, and excursions at good prices.

Overall, I would stay again we come back.

The rooms are clean and they face the water, there is no beach, when we visited we weren’t able to pay with credit seemed to be down, so if you go there expect to pay with cash, the breakfast was good but not a buffet, you ordered breakfast, the site was clean and pool was nice I would rate 7 out of 10, because of the inconvenience

The deluxe room oceanview that we stayed in for five days was perfect. Having coffee while watching the sun rise in front of our bedroom and dinner while the sun was setting at the rooftop was such a superb moment for us. The whole staff was very courteous and accommodating. Prompt actions to all the requests from the Staff was always completed. If we decided to come back to this island, Bohol South Beach Hotel will be in our top list to stay.

The place was very nice.. far back from the main road and pretty private..
Enjoyed the pool and beach water,
But wish that they could do alittle more... from high tide to low tide, beach is covered in garbage... wouldnt take much to rake it out once a day.
Also, as a contractor i tend to notice more things that need fixed than others. But paying what you pay, maybe a room check every week would be good, fix broken faucets, or broken toilet seats. If we want to keep forgienors coming in, we have to up our standard.
Also, the mixed cocktails were not very pleasant at all.
We did enjoy the place, and will most likely return and also promote to others, these are just encouragments to maybe have checked out and fixed.
Breakfast was great! Brewed coffee!
Over all very pleasant!

Very disappointing stay. Beware the tiny rooms

Hotel had a nice modern feel and I was impressed at first but I cannot recommend it simply because the rooms are just too small. You could barely walk round the bed and you had nowhere to put your bags so you ended up tripping over them all the time. Backpackers stay in hostels with more space than this hotel room. The room really ruined the stay as you just couldn’t relax there after a days sightseeing. The staff didn’t replace the shampoo once in four days or even remove the rubbish from the shower room once either. The shower leaked and flooded the room after every use and the sink was not screwed in and was liable to fall at any minute and given the tiny space it was easy to bump into.

The hotel is located on a private beach which has a great view but it’s not somewhere you can actually go and swim due to the low tides and number of small boats moored there. The ‘beach’ itself is basically non existent.
The hotel has a picture postcard feel but the reality is much different. Book with care

Great view on the sea, but the beach was full of garbage. Impossible to swim there. Nice seimming pool but they clra it whenever we want to have a swim in the day. And noisy work going on all day long in the garden and at the front of the hotel. Nice staff, but we had no shower and no hot water for 3 nights out of 4. Shuttle to take us to Alona beach. Too expensive for the service provided.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was quite soft. The breakfast was average. The staff were excellent! It's a nice place to rest and relax. The beach was not good at all. Lot's of trash, seaweed and debris. quite rocky as well. I guess it's more for the diving and snorkeling crowd. Good thing they have regular shuttles to Alona beach.

The wifi was okay. they even have a chromebook for you, binoculars, usb chargers. creature comforts we liked :)

We booked the first floor ocean view 2 months in advance and got there and was put in the wrong room. They did give a free scooter rental but we still overpaid too much for this. If you can put up with roosters screaming at 4:30 in the morning its a ok place to stay.

No hot shower

We checked in, safe not working, no hot shower, no phone in the room so we had to go up and down to the reception. They said somebody’s coming to check, nobody came. Next day we complained again, they said maintenance is not yet in (at 8am) to fix the safe and the shower. When we demanded to be transferred to a different room, the safe key magically appeared. When we got back that same day, still no hot shower. They said we can transfer to a different room with working hot shower BUT we have to move back the next day cuz its gonna mess up their booking (as if they havent inconvinienced us enough). We moved, hot shower worked for a minute and poured cold water after. We asked to talk to a manager multiple times, they said they will come when he/she’s ready to talk, never saw him/her. 3/5 days of our stay was no hot shower and all we got was an $11 free shuttle to the airport. Putting this all the aside, the hotel is clean, thats pretty much it. No phone in the room, the “restaurant” at the 3rd floor was always empty, nobody to even take your order, no elevator, the pool is old with tiles or cement chipping off, the beach is not all that and this hotel is not walkable from alona beach. We do not recommend this place.

Brilliant and relaxed stay

Overall very happy with the stay. Only small downside comes from the location, it's a bit far to walk from everything but luckily there is free shuttle service to/from Alona beach. Nice big room right next to the pool, service exceptionally good and flexible. Staff extremely helpful. Will definitely come back if in the area.

Cons:
-it's not on Alona Beach but it's only 5-10 min away. You can rent a scooter from the hotel which is a really fun way to get around or use their free daily transfers to the beach.

Simply amazing

This hotel makes me want to take a trip back to Panglao, but next time would be better when not solo. The staff, incredible. The property, amazing. The room, awesome. I worked hotels for years and this staff and hotel was one of the best I've ever seen. First, they responded to multiple e-mails I sent to them before arriving. When I arrived, the staff was so nice, friendly, helpful, everything you would want. They showed me to my room, a poolside room, beautiful and the bed was super comfortable. I ordered dinner from the hotel and it was great. In the AM, I was to get breakfast but woke up late, past the breakfast time by about 30 min but they still said \"go on upstairs and we'll have it ready in a minute!\" Ate the breakfast on the top floor where you have a view of the ocean.
They offer a free ride to Alona Beach and you can also get a ride back to the hotel from the same point, very convenient. The second day I rented a scooter from the hotel, very affordable and very nice. Check out was also painless. I would like to thank certain staff members but they were all so nice and friendly, I don't want to leave anyone out. Even the maintenance workers and cleaning staff, all would smile and say hello when I walked by. My only regret was that I didn't get a massage outside next to the pool, but next time...

Nice hotel for the price and not as crowded as Alona Beach, Bohol. If you want a quiet place away from the Alona Beach zoo, South Beach Hotel is it. Both of our Bohol tours left from the hotel (one of our water tours picked us up and dropped us off right on the hotel's beach which was cool). You can arrange tours through the hotel or go with independent tours. Hotel Staff was very accommodating and helpful. We went in June, which was hot, but enjoyable. The restaurant on the top floor was nice and beautiful at night.

The hotel staffs are excellent in service. They will do out of their way to help you. Especially my wife like to take out food from outside restaurant like \"sinigang\", bake chicken, etc and fruits. Their breakfast are excellent especially the pinoy menu.

A great gem in Panglao

A good hotel with staff who were very friendly & helpful. Stayed from 30 Dec 2015 to 11th Jan 2016. Some nice touches like binoculars in the room, great to look at the local out-riggers!
Provide shuttle bus to Alona-beach every morning; have been to the area several times and the hotel ranks as the best so far; modern, clean and nice beach location.

This hotel has a great location & views!

I chose this hotel because it's on the beach with a swimming pool. The ground floor units open right onto the pool which is convenient. The room was clean, modern, had aircon, fridge (with snacks at cheap prices) and cable tv. The bathroom looked modern but could have done with a bit of a spruce up. The staff were fantastic, friendly, polite, responded to all requests promptly and the breakfast included was pretty good (bacon, eggs or sausage and fresh squeezed juice).
The restaurant was ok, burger meh but the fried chicken was excellent. This hotel has scooters for rent at php400/day which is perfect for ducking up to Alona beach (5mins drive) or for heading to the chocolate hills and tarsier sanctuary. The ride to the chocolate hills was really nice and cool. Hotel includes a scheduled free shuttle to Alona beach and will also pick you up in a/c van from airport/ferry for PHP600/way.
My only disappointment was I thought I could go snorkelling straight out from the hotel as there is a reef there but it was only grass, no fish however the hotel staff organised a snorkelling trip to the nearby islands which left directly out the front of the hotel. However would I stay here again, most definitely.

Good stay for a good price with a nice pool

Nice place with a nice pool in front facing the ocean. The pool was clean, whole and in good condition, an important note since many hotel pools in the Philippines seem to be in bad condition.

The room was clean, spacious (room 103, bottom floor), with functioning AC. WiFi was a bit choppy but closer to the entrance it worked ok. One small negative about the room downstairs is that you have to cover up with curtains, to avoid everyone from seeing inside. Not a big problem though :)

Staff were as usual very nice and friendly.

The hotel hasn’t got a bar, so you order from the reception.

The view is very nice. It is a short Tuktuk ride from alona beach, but not a problem since there are plenty of rides for 100 pesos.

Close by is the hostel Mad Monkey, which seems to be the best place to go if you want nightlife. The place had energy and party mode.

So, in general: we had a good stay for a good price!

Le service a la clientèle est excellente, la piscine est parfaite, possibilité d’avoir du transport facilement et la chambre est juste ok. Des activités sont proposés qui sont intéressantes.

Par contre, il y a des travaux proches de l’hôtel lorsque j’y suis allé pendant le jour. Un peu bruyant si vous voulez vous reposer à l’hôtel. Il ne faut pas s’attendre à un rafraîchissement de la chambre pendant votre séjour , le personnel le fait lors entre deux séjours. L’eau chaude est comme si comme ça.
