The staff was nice and the pool area was beautiful, but the rooms are very old and they use an overwhelming amount of cleaner in the rooms so you feel like you are being fumigated. The beds are like rocks. The rooms need to be renovated. The breakfast was good.

Fabulous location, and amenities. The private beach is spectacular. The hotel is dated but unique and charming. Our only issue was that a friend who was staying nearbyvisited us and the hotel staff refused to serve him coffee and was rude to him and us.

Absolutely incredible hotel! I stayed there for a week early June 2025 with my daughter on a half-board with dinner arrangement. The food is incredible. Breakfast in the buffet with an enormous variety. Three course meals for dinner. All the amenities of the hotel are great, the beach is perfect and the overall ambiance is outstanding. We surely enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.

Beautiful place with an old school, retro vibe. The front desk staff and everyone else we encountered was very helpful. Beach was great, as was the pool. We didn’t have dinner there so can’t comment on that but breakfast had a huge variety and the pool bar was a nice amenity and not terribly expensive.

The property feels like a true resort but is not sprawling or impersonal. We would definitely return.

This hotel is absolutely stunning and the view of Tavolara Island is perfection!
My only complaint is the staff. We were celebrating our 11 year wedding anniversary this day and asked if we could have the possibility of a room upgrade. No, hotel was full and that’s fine! My husband then asked if there was the possibility of anything to celebrate with such as a bottle of champagne, wine or dessert. All they said was “no”. We travel every year on our wedding anniversary and we have never been treated so cold. If they couldn’t give us anything, then so be it. A smile and a Happy Anniversary would have been nice :)

No early check-in was allowed. We couldn’t have a window seat at dinner because they were “reserved” (we also had a reservation).
Staff (or perhaps just policies) just doesn’t seem flexible.

Absolutely lovely hotel and we would recommend! Just don’t expect wonderful treatment.

Rudest staff I've ever encountered, with the exception of the front desk staff and the girl bussing the breakfast area. The longest wait ever to be served dinner which is why we only had dinner there once. Property is extremely dated and in serious need of updating. Would never return or recommend.

First of all, the sorrounding views of this hotel is simply stunning. I don't know how many photos I actually took! The beach and pool area are just gorgeous. The decor of inside the hotel is also classical and elegant. The restaurant area just perfect.

The staff are all so nice ane helpful. Always happy to greet you.

The garden room is cute but please note it is a couple of minutes walk to reception/pool area. We were happy to walk though! The bed is definitely comfy.

There is just a few minor recommendations to improve the facilities of the room. The bathroom window is open to the road but brings in dust to the bathroom, the air con unit is old and needs to be updated but works fine. There should be a soap dispenser rather than soap and also a drying rack for clothes.

We were very happy with our stay though! Such a beautiful hotel!

The hotel is beautiful and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. The servers and front desk were friendly and the maid service was immpeccable.
The only things that need improvement are the following: bartender did not know how to mix drinks at all. The music/entertainment could have been better. An acoustic guitarist or a real band would have made evenings more fun. Finally, it would be a good idea to have some organized activities for couples and families, such as games, trivia, karaoke etc. The guests were not at all engaged with each other, so it was difficult to become friendly.

Happy place in the most beutifull bay! One of the nicest locations in Sadinia. Amazing bay and the breakfast on the terrace in a joy for both the eyes and the palate. Charming structure, amazing bay and lovely boutiqueish feel in the freshly renovated lobby and bar areas emphasizing the retro Sardinian feel. We started our honeymoon trip to Italy at this little slice of paradise. I can’t say enough good things about the resort. It has everything you need in one place, and we felt we got so much value included with the nightly rate. Access to SUP, kayaks, a private and beautiful beach, the pool, tennis courts, a fitness center, and free fantastic breakfast buffet. The room was well appointed, if we could, we would have spent our whole vacation there. Just lovely.

Wonderful hotel located on an incredibly beautiful beach with lots of amazing scenery. The hotel and restaurant employees are so friendly, efficient and very helpful. Wonderful Sardinian Hotel

The hotel and staff are really fantastic. Being highly critical, the initial feeling was that some of the hotel looked a little dated. However by the end of the trip we were very reluctant to leave.

The rooms are of a good size and are comfortable with a nice outdoor seating area.

The facilities (including private beach, tennis court, gym, restaurant, pool and water based sport options and boat hire) are all great.

If you’re planning on leaving the hotel you need a car to get around but it’s a lovely quiet location.

The staff without exception are friendly, helpful and polite.

Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Lovely hotel and grounds. Our room (no sea view) was well away from main hotel area, fair walk, no view to speak of other than a lovely bougainvillea courtyard, was pleasant and no problem, lovely and very helpful staff, good breakfasts, WIFI, nice pool and bar area, good dinner in restaurant, lovely views from hotel grounds, good swimming and snorkelling, kayaks etc. A highlight was opera arias duo after dinner in bar area :) Recommended.

Amazing place to stay.

Great place to stay. On the beach which is safe to swim and there is a lifeguard. Very clean facilities and everyone was really pleasant and helpful. Rooms are serviced twice a day and even towels are changed! Hotel staff work really hard to make sure all your needs are met.
You do need a car to explore the coastal areas and other restaurants nearby.
We will certainly return.

What a great place to stay. If you're looking for a romantic and relaxing getaway, this is the place to stay! Everyone here is wonderful! We found this hotel online. As soon as we arrived they checked us in and greeted us with a cold beverage which was very welcome after our travels. We really really loved this place & were sad to move on, everything about it is perfect . It's so cosy, spotlessly clean, quiet & relaxing & above all the staff are so welcoming , friendly & unbelievably helpful .
They go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and ensure that all your needs are being met during your stay. We absolutely loved this place because it was built to feel like it is part of the island. We will be back!

The most beautiful location

We stayed for four nights and left feeling completely relaxed! The view from the breakfast terrace is stunning. The hotel staff are very friendly but not at all overbearing. The room was perfect - plenty of storage space, a large bathroom and a free safe. The food in the restaurant was delicious although we also found a very nice pizza restarant in the nearby Porto San Paolo which was very good value for money.

Tolles Hotel in perfekter Lage

Das Hotel Don Diego ist wunderbar gelegen, man hat einen tollen Blick auf das Meer. Das Hotel verfügt über einen Privatstrand incl. kostenloser Liegen und Schirme. Der Strand ermöglich einen angenehmen Zugang ins Meer (keine Steine am Boden). Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, das Frühstück wunderbar. Parkplätze gibt es in der unmittelbaren Nähe, man findet eigentlich immer einen Stellplatz. Restaurants gibt es leider nicht fußläufig, man fährt mit dem Auto immer min. 10-15 Minuten. Alternativ kann man aber auch im Hotel zu Abend essen. Beim nächsten Besuch auf Sardinien kommen wir ganz bestimmt wieder hierher.

Schönes Frühstück mit frisch gepresstem Orangensaft, Meerblickzimmer hat sich für uns nicht gelohnt, weil das Wetter für die Terrasse leider nicht mitgespielt hat.

Es gibt gratis Kajaks zum Ausleihen und umliegende Strände zu erkunden - mein Highlight.
Für Entspannungsurlaub ganz gut. Für die Insel ist ein Mietwagen sinnvoll.

All fantastic: wonderful location with very nice, private sandy beach, pool, tennis court and view plus super friendly & helpful staff. Hotel room modern in Italian style house. Breakfast, lunch and Sardinian typical tasting menu very tasty. The best hotel during our one week stay in Sardinia. The only feedback: maybe you can re- do the tennis court, since the ground is not even anymore.

Alleinlage, sollte man wissen. Mietauto notwendig. Abendessen innerhalb HP gut. Standardzimmer aus den 70ern, dunkel, aber technisch ok mit Klima. Bad auch alt aber groß und ok. Sollten erneuert werden. Suiten sind neuer aber auch deutlich teurer, ganz andere Lage mit Meerblick. Garten, Pool und www sind sehr gut.

Wir hatten für 2 Wochen eine Juniorsuite mit Meerblick, die hell, geräumig und ruhig war.
Die Anlage ist schön und gepflegt.
Das Personal ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend.
Im Privathafen konnten wir jederzeit Kanus, Pedalò usw. benutzen.
Der kleine Privatstrand sowie der Pool sind sehr gepflegt und gut eingerichtet.
Wir haben den Aufenthalt im Hotel Don Diego sehr genossen und werden bestimmt wieder kommen.

L’albergo e’ in ristrutturazione, e’ tutto un cantiere.
Abbiamo pagato 450,00 € la stanza vista mare e vedevamo un canneto che copriva il cantiere dei lavori, una vergogna! Dovremmo essere rimborsati per la vista mare che non si vedeva!
Il sentiero per andare in spiaggia era in mezzo al cantiere dei lavori in corso. Oltre a questo hotel molto trasandato.
