The hotel is set down a quiet road so a car is needed as there is no real supermarket in walking distance. Apartment was lovely and spacious and pool area was nice. Couple of restaurants on site too. Nearest beach 20 minute walk and two free sunbeds and umbrella. Lovely views and peaceful location.

Holiday to Sardinia

Rooms are specious and clean
Staff are friendly and nice
No much to do in the resort and around it.
The resort is very far and isolated, no walking distance to any restaurants or shops .
Swimming pool - salty water ( see water ) , out of date , no safety walking around swimming pool , loose cheap plastic around swimming pool caused my husband to have a big fall and injured his knees and hands, luckily he didn’t break a bone

There is nothing nearby hotel, needs to have some shops and restaurants, distance walk. We have to take taxis, Even their mini shop is very small.
No adults entertainment/shows.
The same breakfast every morning, no olives or collections of cheese.
Will not recommend it.

We were very much looking forward to our holiday in sardinia but did not like the customer service at this resort at all. Nobody but the reception spoke english and communication with any other staff was completely disaster. Breakfast was of limited menu and absolutely the same every day, no change at all, we did not even have our breakfast the last day. Limited things for children. No water included in your room and you have to keep purchasing the water. Kids went into the pool first day and their eyes started burning due amount of chemicals inside. Hotel is out of the way and didnt even have paracetamol for headache, you cannot stay here without your own car/ rental.

Nice hotel, near Cala Brandinchi, it has comfortable cabins well equipped for families, nice staff, specially Cinthia the safeguard, which was really nice with us. Restaurants are nice, 40 min to Olbia and 2 hours to Cala Gonone. The beach hotel is ok, but no so beautiful as other beaches of Sardinia. The good thing is that beach is almost private for hotel guest. Great hotel to go with kids of 4-13 years old

Rooms are spacious and clean. The beach is nice but I'd expect that in Sardinia, however the beach bar is limited, Porto loos aren't clean and staff refuse to get them cleaned.
That was a major theme, staff don't go above and beyond or even bare minimum. I haven't heard no so much (requesting an iron was anathema, you HAVE to use their iron service with 48hr turnaround and they want you to give the items to front desk with no bag €2.50 per item).
If you don't have a car it's expensive to get anywhere and excursions aren't possible as there are none that will collect from the hotel.
Dining is limited same menu in the a la carte all week.
Avoid.

Wonderful stay in a great resort hotel. Excellent choices for dining, great service and hospitality. The Sky Bar for aperativo with stunning views was a highlight. Sweet little private beach and excellent large swimming pool. Entertainment on offer for children and adults if they want to join in. Spacious apartments and a fabulous staff.

Large, resort where you are just another random guest.

Everything was below average to average. The food was extremely disappointing especially at the paid restaurant.

I would say a car is a must because of the isolation of the resort and the must see beaches/restaurants/towns around.

Issues with spiders in the room, patchy wifi in common areas, and hot water.

Private beach and location to the islands are the best attributes.

Great for families

Large, rambling resort some distance from the nearest town, so you really need a car to get anywhere. Nice beaches and restaurants nearby. Mainly suitable for families with young children. We stayed in one of the apartments with 2 bedrooms, which had plenty of space and was clean and tidy with good facilities. 10.00 checkout time was rather early (breakfast is still being served at 10.30).

So disappointed when arrived. Sardinia beautiful, but the hotel looked, old, run down and poorly maintained.
My initial interaction with reception staff was so poor, I avoided the main hotel areas for the entire stay. The apparent felt run down, but was clean. Had all the basics. The entrance to the apartment was kind of hard to find intially. You have to walk over almost waste land to get to th we door. Bugs were an issue, but I can’t blame that on the the hotel. The hotel has its own beach which is not the best in Sardinia, but still really nice. Could be easily walked to from the hotel rooms also. The hotel advertises a gym…. It’s not very good to say the least. The photos on line are very misleading. Final insult form staff, went to check out and found I had been charged for a kids club pass for 4-11 year olds. I have a 2 year old and never booked /asked for this. Half hour wait to get a manager to remove this from our bill.

A place to forget

Total disappointment, we won't recommend this hotel for the following reasons:

- it\"s false that they clean the room every day as indicated on reservation.
- Awful wifi, impossible to get connected, so no remote working (even at the pool). On top, they wanted to charge us 60€ for 4 days on missing nternet.
- Kitchen without a small sponge/soap or a couple of tablets for washing machine. They told us that it was not included and had an extra cost.

Amazing that an apartment of 1100€/4 nights doesn't include a 1€ cleaning kit. Simply ridiculous.

Small pool for a 288 guests so forget about finding a place.

Great appartment, two batrooms and 2 bedrooms were excellent, the view was not so nice, but the orientation was good (sun in the morning, shadow in the afternoon). Nice roof terrace! Personnel was very friendly.
The food at the Buffet restaurant was the worse we had in this trip, and the most expensive! 30 eur per person!

Lovely hotel in great location.

Lovely hotel which was located close to shops/restaurants and ofcourse a walk away from the beach! Room was very big and had a lovely balcony. Breakfast had a great variety and all procedures was followed in line with guidance on wearing face masks. It was a shame not all guests followed the simple instruction and went about their business!

We loved the location but felt we were getting nickle and dimed throughout our stay. For example, they provided a set of beach towels for the week but if the towels got sandy or dirty, they charged 3 Euros each to replace. And they had a ridiculous policy of only two beach lounges per room. We were three adults and one child, which means we only had two chairs. So, most days we ended up leaving the resort to go to a beach where we could rent enough chairs for all of us. They don't realize that this policy is costing them business.

The Grande Baia resort is a beautiful resort but a car is pretty much essential as it is 2km just to the end of the road and then another 6 or so km to the nearest town of San Teodoro where most of the restaurants are and a short drive to the nearest good beaches (Brandinchi and Lu Impostu) but watch out for beach bed and parking charges!!! Hotel does have its own beach and FREE sunbeds which is great.

The staff were extremely helpful but the lack of wi-fi in the rooms was a little disappointing but to be fair reception offered us a wi-fi booster if we wanted. We also had to call to get our room cleaned as it was missed in the first 5 days but then cleaned 3 times in the second week so this was probably just an oversight. The outdoor patio was also not really cleaned as there was frequent bird droppings on the seats that meant we didn't really sit out there.
That being said -the apartment itself was clean, bathrooms were modern and clean with great showers and overall had everything we needed (although a kettle would have been a nice addition). We only used the restaurant once for breakfast, once in the pizza restaurant and once in the a la carte restaurant. From our experience we felt that food in the a la carte restaurant was expensive, but then to be fair, the whole island is quite expensive. Also watch out for the €5 euro surcharge per person per day that gets added to your bill!!! Overall a lovely place, great attentive staff, but a little out in the sticks.

I like very much what Resort Grande Baia wants to achieve, but they're not there yet! While the infrastructure is excellent, the customer service needs improvement. For instance, we checked in and then we went to the swimming pool, then we found out that we needed to go all the way to reception to get a set of towels. Another example was the fact that the hotel makes you got to reception to book dinner (that's right, not even over the phone), and in our case, once we got to the restaurant chosen at the time scheduled, our reservation wasn't there! It seems that the hotel chose to overcome operational challenges by making customers go over non-sense process generating pain points to customer experience.

Not a hotel but a holiday camp

Our room was that far from the main reception and pool area that we had to drive! Points to note:
1. The holiday camp gives you a card to use in the grounds. For the pleasure of this they charge you €5 per person per night. Even if you don’t want it or use it!
2. The spa facilities are an extra cost at the holiday camp. €25 per person per day.
3. Our room had no additional pillows, toiletries, glasses or tea making facilities.
4.The room in the holiday camp is adjoining. Paper thin walls.

I don’t know how they can get away with what they do. It clearly is not a 4 star. Expedia needs to listen and adapt the advert for this place as it is false!

The first room assigned to us # 822, it was ten blocks from the main resort area, after several discussions with the front desk manager, we were assigned # 720, it was 3 blocks from the main facilities and resort areas.

A la Carte Restaurant could use a new more up-dated menu, at present a USA pizzeria has more varied menu, better service and it is a lot cheaper.

My husband and son stayed at this resort for 2 nights. The hotel is in a nice location and the property is well maintained. The staff on check in and check out were very efficient and friendly.

The room was spacious, clean & comfortable. The bathroom has been renovated which was great, however, the room could do with an update.

The swimming pool is very nice with sea water. Breakfast was ok.

Great complex in great location

Just got back from two weeks self catering at the Grande Baia. Great complex in a great location for sightseeing... BUT you have to have a car to really see what Northern Sardinia has to offer. Staff couldn't do enough for you and the two bedroom apartment we stayed in was spacious clean, had great air con and is set in quiet and well maintained grounds.

Nice hotel but insufficient for families

The hotel is a large compound in a quiet rural area, a few km away from San Teodoro. Lovely beaches can be found in the vicinity, although a car is needed to get there -the hotel offers a shuttle service, but charges 5 euro/ person/ trip. The hotel has its own beach, which is not up to the standards of the surrounding beaches, but which can be reached free of charge through a shuttle service every 20 minutes.

Accommodation comes in individual apartments of large size, very nice and quiet. They have a kitchen, but the hotel charges 100 euro for the rental of cutlery and basic cooking items, plus 50 euros for the use of gas (!). While we were there, we had to report a plague of ants and of wasps (on two separate days); hotel management quickly responded and the ants disappeared, not the wasps.

The level of facilities was disappointing for this type of hotel -we were all families with young children. There is only a pool for adults, plus four pools that are part of a spa that has to be paid separately (25 Euro/person/ visit), therefore mostly empty. Evening performances were of poor quality and there were not many activities for children or adults.

Staff was nice and helpful, although not always up to the standards found in similar hotels -as explained above.

Food was decent, but boring. The menu did not change a bit in the 8 days we stayed there.

We were asked to pay for services that are normally included in the rate, like clean beach towels or cutlery.

Great location & room, but poor hotel services

I booked this resort via venere.com in April; only AFTER I paid for the entire stay, I received an email with extra fees to be paid at the resort: 5 euros/adult/day for the club card, meaning for access to all their services.

However, a few days before our arrival, I also received an email from the hotel saying that 'unless otherwise agreed', this 5 euro fee is compulsory and should be paid directly at the hotel.

Upon check-out, we tried to discuss with the reception staff and with the manager, but I think that we were too insignificant for him and did not bother to discuss with us directly. We tried to explain that we have not used any of the services provided by the resort, other than the room and breakfast, for which we had already paid. And we want to agree on a lower fee, given this issue.

No can do, so we ended up paying. So beware when booking this hotel, there is a compulsory fee of 5 euros/adult/night, and if you want to stay 10 days, that's an extra 100 euros to your holiday budget.

Other than that, great location, good room, spacious, clean, good breakfast, nice secluded beach.
Only the hotel services were poor.

We booked a suite to only find out on arrival that they had double booked which is very frustrating. We were put up in one of the apartments which wasn't what we requested however the next day we were in our suite which had far more upto date decor with a lovely bathroom. The buffet breakfast was good. The staff were very nice but with limited English vocabulary. The gym was rubish, probably the worst I have seen and too hot to work out in as the A/C wouldn't work. The location of the hotel is ideal to get to some of the beatific beaches in the area where we spent most of our time which are a short drive away.

Very nice location, close to a private beach.

The accommodation was superb, with luxurious finishes. Staff were very kind, although we met 2 rather rude staff members. The negative points were: we could not keep the umbrella opened when the wind was blowing, which means almost every day. With little children, this meant not being able to use either the beach or the swimming pool. Also, in the houses there were not cleaning facilities.

My experience wasn't nice, I'm very disappointe with everything there. Specially because I had to pay €70 for club hotel card for Nothing We had to pay for everything: like go to the beach it's about 15mins from the hotel and they organise transfer (VAN) €10 for each, €20 each adult to go to the centre town San Teodoro, 10mins from the hotel by car.
Another alternative is rent a car but was very expensive €96 per day.
The food wasn't really nice, breackfast was very boring.
I don't recommend this hotel for my friends.

Not a great visit to Resort Grande Baia. Our apartment was ok, but had problem with Ants in the apartment and in the fridge and nothing was done about it. Requesting clean towels was a problem, they did not provide them until Monday, we arrived on the Thursday. The food is so BAD! absolutely disgraceful for a \"4 star\" facilities. The self catering side of things in the apartment was not so good either as there were no suitable utensils. A broom, but no dustpan, no wifi etc If you are going to Sardinia - stay elsewhere

Generally you cannot go wrong with a holiday in Italy and you certainly don't with this resort. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the service is reasobable. To make the most of this resort you will need a car. The hotel provides a free shuttle to their own beach but would be a shame to go there with all the other really wonderful beaches around, La Cinta is only 10 min drive away. In the booking confirmation there were lots of things included as complimentary such as parking, shuttle, entertaining (which is only for the Italian speaking guests), pool, mini club, but at the end they ask you to pay a hotel tax of 5 euro per adult and 3 euro per child per day to cover for the above. Do check your final bill because they can make mistakes. Overall though it is very good value for money and I would definitely consider another holiday in the same resort.

I founf the hotel really clean and very confortable. Staffs really top class. Their best asset. Everything was beyond my expectation.
Only 2 cons: the food is really poor. I mean really! I tried the dinner buffet, and it was lousy. Not much choice and the breakfast, although a buffet style, was not more than a continental breakfast.The hotel should extend the meals hours, because they do have a shortage of staffs and there is hardly a day we didnt have to clean our tables to be seated. The staff work very hard, but there are too many guest and they just cannot cope with the servive.
Also the internet at the reception was very poor.
Apart from that, the resort is very good.
If they could only improve these 2 points, the resort could be really top class.
In spite of these, and for the price we paid, i would recommend this resort on a B&b basis.
But remember, to stay there you do need a car. Out of the question if you do not have one.

Great relaxing vacation

Great for families, very comfortable and easy to get around. San Theodore is a nice relaxing location and the surrounding countryside is easy to navigate. Hotel staff were wonderful and friendly and spoke several languages each. Some suggestions: 1. a hot pot or other coffee/tea making accessory in the room; 2. more staff at pool bar, the one worker there was constantly moving and assisting guests and was always on her own; 3. A small hose or something to wash the sand from your shoes and feet after leaving the beach, there are the showers by the pool, but they are not convenient for all the rooms and can get quite busy.

Nice, quiet resort but you could notice that the season has not started yet. We spent may's half term break there. The rooms are exacly like shown on the photos. The weather was good not too hot and not cold. I would recommend to rent a car to explore the beautiful beaches around Costa Smeralda. The food in Sardinia is great and not expensive so don't bother booking a full board option.

pleasant hotel, far from road.

we had lovely stay. staff were very pleasant. hotel is a long way from the main road and a little way from the beach but the hotel provides buses (not all free). Food was not brilliant. We were B&B but ate at the hotel for two evenings. We had an upgraded room which was lovely but the ducts for the airconditioning for the block seemed to be next to our room and were very noise, especially at night. We tried earplugs but that didn't work. In the end we moved to the sofa bed in the lounge area. It was very comfortable and much quieter but it did mean we had to make up the bed each night and morning. God knows what the maid thought! We visited other blocks to see if they were any quieter and they all seemed to be noisy with the ventilation system.

Great location, nice hotel but awful!

This is a conundrum! A fab location and really nicely styled hotel and resort which was clean and comfortable. The trouble is we were made to feel unwelcome and the restaurant was a self serve nightmare. Thank goodness we were never tempted to go other than bed and breakfast. The pool bar staff were rude, uncompromising and ignorant. It was our 30th wedding anniversary when we stayed here and we just wished we had stayed where we were previous to this or in the next place - they were pardise in comparison. The location is great although you are cut off if you don't have a car, and we had a lovely aniversary elsewhere in the area! Never again. Doubt this will be published but maybe Hotels.com will think about removing this from their database.

Very spacious, comfortable and clean rooms, we booked junior suite and it had sofa corner and table. Very big and nice bathroom with separate shower room and bath. Restaurant very messy, for breakfast very hard to find a clean table at 9am, food ok everyday the same, dinner big choice of food for €20 If you dont have included but worth the price, restaurant messy again. Hotel location without having a car is difficult to reach forget about walking neareby, but its good for families as lots of entertainment throughout the day. Over all recommended.

Upon making our reservation it was not at all clear that this hotel caters to an \"all-inclusive\" clientele meaning buffet-style meals, animation and entertainment by hotel staff during cocktail hour and a somewhat rigid schedule. For example, the pool was inexplicably closed between 13h00 and 15h00, normally the time of day one would like a dip because of the hot sun! The property is close to a 1km walk from the beach, a mini-train provides transportation back and forth every 30 min. Being situated along the main road several km from the center of San Teodoro, a car is essential for going into town for meals etc. The property was clean and very new, the rooms and bathrooms large and comfortable. I would not recommend this hotel for someone looking for charm or wanting to be able to stroll from the hotel to the center of town.

Das Essen war gut. Klimaanlage funktionierte bei unserer Ankunft nicht und führte zu einer heißen schlaflosen Nacht in der gebuchten Suite. Nach massivem Bitten und Nachfragen wechselten wir an Tag 2 das Zimmer. Trotzdem funktionierte sie nur auf Anruf an der Rezeption für den Rest des Aufenthalts. Das Fitnessstudio hatte ebenfalls weder eine funktionierende Air Condition, noch ein funktionierendes Laufband oder einen Crosstrainer. Alle Geräte kaputt. Der Pool war eingezäunt, was nicht schön wirkte. Das Personal war nett.

Beautiful resort and great location

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. Is was our last stop on a 10 days trip. We loved the location, close to very beautiful beaches, and the nice town of San Teodoro.
The pool area is nice and clean. We went to the bar every night, the one with a DJ. The cocktails were good.
The breakfast was very common. The coffee was really bad. Many options though.
We had a nice room with balcony. We would love to come back.

Lors de la réservation, nous avons précisé que nous étions avec une personne handicapée qui avait besoin d’une baignoire= 0 réponse. Une fois arrivés on voulait nous mettre à 4 dans une chambre au lieu d’un appartement 2 chambres. L’accès à l’appartement se fait par 4 marches hautes en pierre et la traversée d’un champ non tondu: Bravo l’accès handicapé!!!Aucun ascenseur!
Canapé en bois inconfortable,Oreiller moisi et cafetière pour 1 espresso pour 4, mini Terrasse etc…
LE PIRE EST À VENIR:
Quant à la plage il faut payer 5€/pers la navette sinon y aller à pied (merci pour les handicapés, allons y…)et le plagiste voulait nous faire payer le transat que nous avions pris pour la personne handicapée car il était réservé: une HONTE!
Ensuite, au moment de repartir, nous nous sommes garés sur la place handicapée devant la réception et avons été sommés par le voiturier en hurlant d’aller stationner plus loin alors que nous avons montré la carte de stationnement handicapé et que son attitude a été de se moquer avec ses collègues de la situation. INADMISSIBLE!
Les normes européennes ne s’appliquent pas pour tous vraisemblablement ????
Le pire est le MÉPRIS DES HANDICAPÉS du jamais vu or nous venons en Sardaigne tous les ans.

The beds in the rooms we were assigned were plagued with bed bugs and smelled horrible - clearly the cleaninless standard is very poor.

But the most disgusting thing was the attitude of the staff reacting to our complaint as \"what is the big deal\".

We were reassigned to other room after inspecting ourselves several others, same result - beds were plagued with bed bugs.

The property is laid out in a nice area, however, it is not well maintain - clearly visible.

It is a shame that so scenic location is so poorly maintain ed and the whole attitude was \"what's the big deal\".

I absolutely do not recommend this place at all.

Grande Baia Resort & Spa is located in a nature reservation. It is a beautiful location but a (rental)car is recommended.

The resort has a Card that has to be used for payments on the resort facilities like restaurant and Spa.

We enjoyed the swimming pool and the lounge beds that were present there. There a limited beds available and at times all are taken.
There is a, private, beach near the Resort. You can either walk there or use the resorts shuttle service (every 20 minutes). At the beach there are also a limited number of lounge beds available for the quests. There is also the possibility to lay on the beach itself.
There are some stones present to walk over when going into the sea.

Our apartment was spacious enough for us and had two bathrooms and two bedrooms. It also offered sea sight and a terrace.

The terrain is a bit hilly here and there but we were at good walking distance from the resort's pool, bar and restaurants.

The staff was very friendly and adequate in case of any issues.

We enjoyed our stay.

Wir haben als Familie mit einem 1,5 jährigen Urlaub gemacht und es war toll. Wir hatten eine Ferienwohnung, die voll ausgestattet war und von der größe her perfekt war. Der Strand, der zur Anlage gehört ist sehr schön. In naher Umgebung gibt es aber auch weitere noch schönere strände (z.B. La Cinta). Man braucht definitiv ein Auto, wenn man ein bisschen was sehen will. Parkplätze gibt es auf der Anlage genug.

pas top pour un 4 étoiles

déjà passé une nuit a l'ouverture avec des amis il y a environ 10 ans c'était super, mais là vraiment pas contente se dit 4 étoiles ils ne font même pas la chambre encore moins un changement de serviettes en plus il pleuvait pas de paillasson évidemment pleins de terre , nous avons eu froid impossible de monter la température et pas de couverture en plus il a fallu récupérer les fines couvertures de la 2 ème chambre nous avons présentés le problème a l’accueil et leur réponse a été qu'il ne fond les chambres que tous les 4 jours et nous sommes resté 2 nuits mais nous demandions simplement de faire le lit et changer quelques serviettes comme un 4 étoiles normal je ne suis pas contente et nos amis aussi surtout aucun changement depuis plus de 10 ans aucune renovation

Falsche Zimmerkategorie bekommen. Rezeption vom Zimmer aus nicht erreichbar, nie.
Für den Downgrade wurde am nächsten Tag ich verantwortlich gemacht. Wir hätten untereinander Schlüssel getauscht. Ich musste nachweisen, dass man mir den falschen Schlüssel gegeben hat, eine Entschuldigung gab‘s nicht.

Pool Wasser so salzig, dass man es nicht aushält.
2 h Late Checkout wurde ohne vorgewarnt zu werden für ein Zimmer mit 200 Eur berechnet. Rezeptionist dreist und frech.

Stor resort med alldeles för liten pool och för få solstolar både vid pool och på stranden. Servicen i restaurang (pizzerian) och i receptionen var riktigt dålig med bristande förståelse i engelska.

Frukosten var ok, men i en ganska tråkig lokal.

Plus till vaktmästaren som fixade spisen i vår lägenhet och ordnade extra täcken supersnabbt!

Man tar även ut en \"resorts avgift\" typ 5 euro per dag och vuxen. Oklart vad man egentligen får för dessa pengar....

Syntes dette hotellet lå veldig øde. Var et fint hotell med fin Strand. Men savnet å ha noe Strandbar samt noe flere restauranter. Var en pizza og buffe restaurant på hotellet. Men man blir ganske lei det etter noen dager. Dessverre var det ene restauranten stengt der å. Savna skikkelig italiensk mat! Så skal du hit bør du ha bil så du kan reise til andre byer for å spise eller oppleve andre ting en bare store resorten.

Anlage top, Verpflegung flopp!

Sehr schöne Ferienanlage, waren für zwei Nächte da, in einem schönen Zimmer.
Da wir keine Verpflegung ausser dem Frühstück gebucht hatten, wollten wir im Hoteleigenen Restaurant
à la Carte essen gehen. Dort wurden wir aber nicht zugelassen. Es seien nur Gäste erlaubt welche dies voraus gebucht hätten. Wir wurden nur, für 30€ zum Abendessenbuffet zugelassen. Das Abendessenbuffet ist eher lieblos und wird nur mangelhaft nachgefüllt.
