We thought we paid to much for its location. Getting anywhere was inconvenient and costly. It’s a place to visit for few hours or stay 1 night maximum
The bathroom are dated. They are not senior friendly. The tubs are 24 inches high. No grab bars. Unsafe.

Young Americans, loud speakers and drugs. Beautiful hotel and a perfect village. Spoiled by large groups having loud parties in hotel rooms. Difficult to sleep when the whole building vibrates with music and girls screaming. The hotel asked them to quieten down but they did not turn the music off until 2 am. Ravello used to be a peaceful destination.

The hot water did not work for around a day and a half of our visit. The place needs a significant upgrade. They did nothing to offer us compensation for the inconvenience and didn’t even offer an apology. The breakfast was also underwhelming despite the lovely staff running it. Fantastic location, friendly and helpful staff. Lovely food, very child friendly and breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast. I can’t fault the hotel. The beds are extremely comfortable and the kids loved the pool. We enjoyed 9 nights in a family suite.

The hotel is listed as a four star hotel but in terms of quality and amenities the hotel is anything but. Not to mention that located in ravello the weather gets very hot and the air conditions in the room are not adequate and for most of my stay I was uncomfortable with the heat in my room. Even though there is a thermostat in the room, it does absolutely nothing and the front desk actually controls the temperature of the room and didn’t turn on my unit until the next day I was there when I complained that I cannot stay in my room any longer.

Peace and tranquility on the Amalfi coast

We enjoyed our stay immensely!! Every thing about the hotel and staff was excellent.

The staff were more than helpful providing tips of what to do and see. We used the main Piazza car park nearby initially so the manager himself went with my husband to move it and parked it at the hotel for us.

Our suite was very big, well appointed, had everything you'd need and the view from the large terrace was brilliant!!

We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel and both were excellent in quality and taste.

All the staff were lovely but a special mention should be made for the young Ukrainian waiter at dinner - he was very patient and knowledgeable and described each dish in detail to help us make up our minds. On his recommendation we chose a bottle of local red wine which was delicious.

Sadly we only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer.

Thank you for providing a little haven of peace and tranquility within the stress of driving the Amalfi coast road!!

This stay was the HIGHLIGHT of our trip. My husband and I went to Italy for 2 and a half week for our honeymoon and we stayed here for 5 of those nights. We wish we stayed here for longer. It was literally perfect. The one drawback I had was the pool was always freezing so no one was really in it ever. Other than that, the views are stunning, it is super close to the bus stop, super close from the main square, close to amazing dinner options and the friendliest staff we had all trip. We will definitely be returning here in the future!

we had suite 201 and it was loud from the street noise and bathroom had small amount of mold on the walls and Silicone in the shower had mold as well, water from shower ran across bathroom floor, had to clean it up. for 1 night stay price was good and comfortable, would have complained if longer.

This is a beautiful property that has stunning views over the Amalfi coast. It's located in the centre of Ravello, on a quiet pedestrianized street, with a second entrance on a main roadway, which makes it easier for checking in and out. The rooms are large, have air conditioning and were spotless. The breakfast was delicious and I had lunch and dinner during my stay, all were very good. Highly recommend this property and would stay here again.

this hotel is lovely and we stayed in a fabulous room on the 8th floor. An amazing view lovely staff and a great location and we will return. However on the first night we stayed in a room on the first floor. We had to move as the ‘view ‘ was across a busy road and parked cars. The cooked breakfast was uninspiring .

We stayed at Hotel Fraulo for our wedding in September 2017 and had a post wedding barbeque there. The food was cold, really bad quality and the service was awful. The staff were extremely unhelpful. We paid £600 a night for a suite room, which was small and not well stocked. There was no hairdryer or iron in the room and the staff were not accommodating. When we complained, there was no one available to speak to us. Extremely disappointed.

The whole experience was pleasant. The staff are absolutely lovely, and super helpful. In particular the porter made us feel as though we were royalty.
The room we had originally booked was very mediocre, and was on ground level, which although still had sea views it was very noisy when you opened the balcony doors. We were offered an upgrade for only 50 euros more and it was a much larger room with an incredible bathroom, offering all the amenities you would possibly desire. Including robes and slippers.
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great, therefore we were unable to make use of the infinity pool. Howver when we did look at it it didn’t seem very clean and the spa facilities seem to be out of use ? (Sauna and steam room)
Location wise it was perfect.
Overall the hotel was reallly nice, I think it just needed a few touch ups to really get to the ‘luxurious’ mark.

This was our third time in Ravello and yet again it did not disappoint us. Hotel Villa Fraulo was the best so far. Staff are amazing and I mean all staff, they cannot do enough for you. Evan makes a great Martini. Easy access as you are able to enter from the road which makes life easy if you are not to good at walking. Would have liked a few more hand rails in places as I find it difficult to walk up stairs but I managed. Overall an excellent hotel thank you to all staff for making our holiday great.

We absolutely adored our 10-day-stay at Villa Fraulo this summer. The hotel is beautiful and quirky, with the classy, gracious old part of the building housing reception, suites and the dining room/stunning terrace that looks down the coast. Many of the rooms (all with sea view) look out over the sea. Road noise can be an issue with the ground floor rooms especially, but the view makes up for it and the hotel is fabulous. The staff are great. The rooms were immaculately clean and the cleaning staff are delightful. Reception couldn't have been more friendly or helpful and the guys who help with cases, pool towels, parking etc are both friendly and warm, and go the extra mile. The restaurant and bar staff are also lovely but could be more proactive. Many of us found that you have to go and find them to get a drink etc and it would be nicer to have true table/sunbed service. The bar and terrace would certainly be a little busier and have a little more atmosphere if this were the case, especially in the evening, making it more alluring to stay in the hotel and spend your money there! That said, coming out of the hotel from reception into a beautiful, shady area (with a little bar) just a short stroll through the oleanders down to the main square past the cathedral is lovely, and Ravello is bursting with eateries from simple pizzerias to Michelin star restaurants. What's not to love?

Nice hotel but make sure you lock the safe!

We had a nice stay at the Hotel Villa Fraulo, but not an outstanding one. The room was pleasant enough, though it was near the road so it was slightly noisy at night. Breakfast was nice but there wasn't a great amount of choice. The staff were pleasant but didn't seem to go out of their way to be helpful. I also came back to the room once to find a strange man in there 'fixing the cupboards' which was a bit awkward as I needed to change! The best thing about the hotel is the swimming pool, which has a lovely view and was very quiet when we were there. However, our last morning was ruined because we had 50 euros stolen from our safe. We forgot to lock it when we went to breakfast and when we came back it was missing. We had counted our remaining money the night before so we knew exactly how much was in there. We told the hotel but they didn't believe us and didn't offer an apology. So it wasn't a great way to end the holiday. All in all it was a good experience, but not the level I was expecting from the price we paid.

Second honeymoon in Ravello!

We had some initial trouble finding the hotel as the online address at Via San Giovanni Del Toro 18 was incorrect. The correct street address was at #6. When we advised the staff they said this was due to street changes by the local authorities. The hotel is in a fantastic elevated location in Ravello with superb sea views and is close to the bus stop. Our room on level 2 had some road noise despite double glazing but the hotel staff were great and allowed us to move to a slightly better room.
Ravello has a very relaxed pace compared to the village beach spots down at the water. The hotel is very close to some great restaurants and a simple walk to the local town square. The outdoor terrace is beautiful and a stunning spot for breakfast or pool side drinks.

Beautiful views but some things need changing

Gorgeous hotel and lovely suite with fabulous views and very convenient to the centre, however there is room for improvement.
We had a suite with double balcony which was great but a lot of wasted space- a couple of loungers would have been perfect. Very clean so cannot fault that. Were given luxury toiletries on first night but these were 'downgraded' after that which was a shame considering the price of the suite. We had a lot of wires hanging out of the wall in the lounge area as if a TV had been removed. If that was the case then best to remove the wires to make the wall more pleasing to look at? Also tea and coffee making facilities would have been nice.
Breakfast was not of the standard expected for such a hotel. When food ran out it was not always replaced and it was the same every day apart from the cakes. Scrambled eggs were overcooked and congealed and fruit juices were definitely not fresh, not what you expect from a hotel of this standard. When busy there was not always a free table and although the staff were very friendly, they were perhaps not always attentive to the needs of the guests, for example on a number of occasions we had to go and find someone to get a coffee/tea, cutlery and if food had run out.
Parking is very expensive so needs to be considered in the cost of your stay.
On a more positive note, Guiseppe who organised the parking was amazing. He was very polite, friendly and professional, really looking after the guests- thank you Guiseppe!

GREAT LOCATION IN RAVELLO!

Hotel Villa Fraula is a great place to stay in Ravello. It is on the doorstep of the central piazza but the rooms face away from the piazza to the breathtaking view of the Amalfi coastline. The decor is classic elegant with all amenities in the room. The staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. From the concierge parking to the beautiful breakfast on the patio to the comfort of the room. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Beautiful Hotel, Awful Sleep

I decided to stay at this hotel on my last night in Ravello. I got a bargain with Expedia. Unfortunately, due to the bargain price I got stock in the worst rooms. The room over all was big, clean and nice. However, it was on the first floor which faces the street. Due to the fact that faces the street I was not able to sleep due to the noise from the cars and a restaurant/bar next to the hotel. In the morning, I spoke with the front desk and they will not grant me anything. I had to call expedia for some type of refund. Expedia only gave me $50 and I am still waiting for it. If you decided to stay at this hotel make sure you have a higher floor. The hotel might charge you more as every floor has a difference price. The breakfast was good. The pool and its view are really nice. I spend morning and a bit of the afternoon enjoying the pool area. The front desk people are not too friendly.

Excellent Hotel But Noisy Room

The hotel is excellent, rooms were great, service was good and the location was superb. I couldn't have asked for more on my first trip to Ravello which was magnificent. That said I paid for a sea view room, which I got. But it was on the first floor right in front of a busy road and next door to a cafe where local drank until early hours. If your a light sleeper like me the constant noise of scooters whipping up and down the street to all hours is enough to drive one madd. Also note, I booked through a 3rd Web site who didn't inform me of the €25 per day parking charge, which added an extra €100 to the price of the room. For these reason my raring is only 3 stars when it could have easily been 5.

Hotel waiters and ladies who cleaned were first class...BUT RECEPTION STAFF WERE RUDE BAD MANNERED AND THEY ALONE WILL MAKE SURE I WILL NO VISIT THIS HOTEL EVER AGAIN... Plus if you have booked this hotel beware of security even in safe deposit box in your room someone did get into mine took 30 euros not a lot but I still reported to police ... On our honeymoon, this place was the most expensive yet service was poorest. The front desk staff are polite but far from welcoming or friendly. Our first night was terrible, loud guests next door were active til 2 to 3am. Had to sleep with earplugs, so much for their advertised sound proof rooms. When I mentioned it to the front desk the next morning the woman said yes, they knew about it (yet did nothing about it) and that those guests have just checked out. Offered no gesture of good will. Btw, every other hotel greeted us with congratulations and/or champagne for our marriage except for this hotel.

The beds were hard, not tempurpedic and the sheets are also not Frette sheets as advertised. Wifi was nonexistent, when I told them we could not get wifi in our room, the front desk woman implied my phone was the problem bc it was fine bit that she would reset the router. Didn't work. Next person said it was the phone company problem that made the wifi not work and suggested we go to the main lobby where the wifi works. Umm hello, if it was your provider that is the problem then why would wifi work in one area but not another? More likely is that they didn't have enough boxes to cover the whole hotel. Breakfast was marginal. Again, less expensive hotels we stayed had much better breakfast.

Of the many options out there, you are best to look elsewhere at this price point. They charge a 4 star rate for 2 star quality and experience.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights - it gave us easy access to all parts of the Amalfi Coast - only a short trip on the bus to Amalfi, Positano. Buffet breakfast was always plentiful offering a good variety. The staff were most helpful and friendly, and of course, great coffee at breakfast :)

Lovely hotel!

This is a fantastic hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly. Ravello itself is lovely and this hotel is very close to the main square. Would highly recommend!

My second home.

This was the fourth time in five years for me to stay at this hotel. That says quite a lot because I love to explore new places and rarely return to the same place. I hope to return here many more times because I love the peace. The view from the rooms and the terrace is just sublime and there have been countless hours spent staring out on to the sea and the picturesque mountains. The hotel staff are incredibly kind and nothing is too much trouble for them.

Lovely hotel in Ravello

Wonderful hotel in the heart of Ravello. The friendliest staff imaginable. Excellent buffet breakfast. Good selection at very reasonable prices for dinner. Our superior room faced the road. However, with the patio door closed, very little street noise was heard. Our room had a fabulous view of the Amalfi Coast and the Tyrrhenian Sea. A beautiful hotel experience in a lovely, atmospheric town with fantastic views of the sea that does not have vast crowds of tourists--they are down the hill in Amalfi!

Nice hotel in Ravello

Nice hotel at the top of Ravello's main town. Short walk down to the town square and the shops in the town. Nice hotel, slightly disappointed we were in a low room with no real views (1st floor), as opposed to friends who had a wonderful balcony view from the 3rd floor. Reasonable choice at breakfast, eaten on a nice terrace with nice views. Weather was a little cool for the Infinity Pool, which would be spectacular in the summer

Friendly staff but poor service \nBasic breakfast

I stayed here because my son will be marrying in Revello next year. Hotel is ideally located and very clean. I found the staff very friendly but the service was poor. I kept having to find staff for drinks, plates, milk. Once I found staff very helpful.
Breakfast was very disappointing, I did not eat there in the evening. Went into the square which was lovely

Welcoming Hotel Beautiful views

We had a car to deal with in this tiny town so that is where the wonderful service began. We were instructed and helped with parking our car . Next upgraded to a suite with two balconies and amazing views. The suite was very large, minimum decorations but very comfortable. Our dinner on the terrace was straight out of a story book. There was a sudden downpour. We were protected by umbrellas but they offered to move us in which we declined. They moved the service tables to us. The rain stopped as quickly as it started. As we were enjoying our delicious meal under the stars lights came on covering all the buildings in a little town below. The lights changed colors as we watched in amazement. Our waiter told us they were practicing for a festival that would be held on the weekend. The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful. Wonderful food. Wonderful service. Wonderful views. We won't forget Hotel Villa Fraulo

A wonderful experience!

We had a fabulous experience at Villa Fraulo. When we arrived, the hotel staff was waiting at the entrance to greet us and make us welcome. We had 2 rooms, each w/ a balcony overlooking the Med. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. This includes the bathrooms which were large and luxurious. Breakfast was served each morning on the rooftop terrace overlooking the Med. There was a nice selection of fresh fruit, yogurts, breads, granola, pastries, eggs, meats, vegs, etc. The waiter we had each day was so kind - I told him I loved coffee and so he made me multiple cups of his \"special\" cappuccino each morning. It was a great way to start the day. We ended up many of our days after trekking the mtn paths and visiting other villages, back on the terrace to enjoy the pool and sunset. The hotel staff was so kind and friendly - they worked hard to meet all our needs re sights to see, restaurants, directions, etc. It was so sad to say goodbye as they made us feel part of their family. We will miss them all.

Beautiful hilltop hotel overlooking the Med!

Wonderful staff, great views, terrace dining and relaxing spa provided the perfect vacation destination for our family. Quaint, hilltop location allowed us to spend time away from the crowds when we weren't visiting the major coastal cities. We highly recommend this hotel.

Great location, dated hotel

Our room was described as having a sea view and for the money we paid, I had high expectations.

In terms of location it was excellent. We were there for a friends wedding and it was walking distance to everything.

We were on the first floor which was at road level so quite noisy at times. There was a seaview although you had to get past the road first. It had a balcony however we didn't fancy sitting on it that close to the road and passers by. The room itself was dated but clean and comfortable.

The hotel had a pool with the most beautiful views but it was very cold which a lot of guests seemed to be commenting on.

Overall the hotel was good but I think you're paying for the location rather than the quality of the room.

Villa Fraulo, the smart, elegant, charming choice

From the owner to the concierge staff (Angelo, Julia) to the housekeeping and waiters...everyone was charming and accommodating and bent over backwards to make our stay fabulous. Let me say that my family and I have traveled to over 20 different countries and stayed in some of the finest hotels in both European capitals and the Far East (Aman resorts). Fraulo is recently renovated so everything is fresh and new---from windows to window treatments, beds (extraordinary), bathrooms, etc. all of this newness is nicely complimented with an eclectic selection of antique decor/items. The pool is small but virtually empty (even during our recent high season august stay). The location could not have been better-- on one of the (if not THE) most prestigious streets in Ravello...one of the most prestigious and sophisticated towns on the Amalfi coast. We will most certainly be back to Villa Fraulo. We stayed in suite 301 (2 beds, one HUGE bath) which has an enormous terrace and it was More than adequate for my wife and our two teenage children.
