Everything about the hotel was very high quality, enjoyed my stay there and the breakfast was superb! Would definitely stay there again, perhaps also take the kids along as the duplex rooms are very cosy yet playful, children would love it!

Was woken up at 5am by a boy racer in the adjoining car park doing doughnuts for 15mins. The room was large but very poorly designed. We arrived on a Friday evening and the outside dining was excellent with music and a great vibe. The surrounding area lacked charm but we managed to find a nice coffee shop and a chocolate museum. Hotel had a swimming pool which I wished I had used but was not well advertised. Overall, I would recommend the hotel.

My room had a sheer drop down some steps right from the front door and there is no electric in the room until you put slot your key in, and i dropped down those stairs and could have hurt myself. when I reported it to reception the lady found it somehow amusing. later my colleague and i were both separately berated by a member of staff about a booking not honored... we had no idea what he was talking about and it had nothing to do with us. The bed itself is perched on top of ridiculously steep stair case... crazy place. Won't return , rude staff.

This is a big hotel and very busy. Hotel staff were very friendly, but at times very busy and waiting time (for lunch or dinner) could be annoying. Breakfast had a good variety, but a lot was missing because it was so busy. The town was not very nice and dining out you have to make sure you book for any nice restaurant.

The hotel was very nice. It is well located. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We stayed in two different type of rooms. The first (cheapest) was larger than the second for the dining and office space. The bed is upstairs and give a cozy atmosphere. The bathroom is a bit smaller, the shower is in the tub. The second room (middle price) has less space for the office but the bathroom has a hot-tub and a separate shower. The only bad point is that there was a lot of noise until late in the night from a large dance area in the parking lot. It draws a rough crowd from the community. It is located in a temporary structure, but people come in the hallways drunk.

Surprise, The Bed is Upstairs
Very unique room with the bed up in the loft. The room was extremely spacious, clean, and filled with amenities (safe; frig with soda, beer and water; toiletries; tub; towel warmer; room service; luggage trolley). The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, especially in the restaurant. Outdoor parking was free and accommodated our large SUV. Location is convenient also- walking distance to a strip mall and a chocolate museum, the Val Dieu Abbey and brasserie are a short drive away. Some areas of improvement: the room wifi was extremely weak or non-existent; with the bed upstairs and heat rising, the bedroom was a little uncomfortably warm even in late September, and the automatic window and shutter would not remain open; over all the bed was a little too soft. Also, it was a little noisy from the street noise. It would be nice to have a tv downstairs to watch the news while eating breakfast or just to watch without being in bed. Also, it would give the person sleeping downstairs something to watch. Please add a toilet brush and garbage can to the toilet; having a separate toilet room was nice though. The tub stopper did not keep the water from draining while taking a bath, so that may need to be checked. Also, we had to reset our door key twice during the weekend stay. Overall, though, really liked the room set-up and enjoyed our stay. May return for New Year's Eve.

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel, it's in the ideal location for both the local town and going further afield. Such as visiting Germany or Luxembourg, which we did on this trip.
The staff are friendly enough and the atmosphere is great in the evenings as the hotel seems to be the focal point for those going out for a few drinks and food.

We like the hotel and this was the 2nd year running we came. This year we did come back as liked it so much last year. The only REALLY negative thing about this hotel is the parking. For that only we might consider not coming back. You cannot expect from paying guests that due to the Winter Wonderland gazebo that you have to park in the far and beyond as the party people park on site. I was stunned by the receptionist that I had to find a place somewhere in the near by area. That was very bad service. Hotel clean. Food lovely. Strange that via Bookings.com we didn't exist on the v.d Valk booking list. We had our print out as proof and eventually yes they found us. Then the next morning for breakfast...not on list. But then they found us. Mixed feeling this time round. The lighting downstairs is not good. Might be for the romantic people but you cannot even read a magazine. The blind on window upstairs has so much noise when open and close.....you wake up the whole world.

First impression was not positive. We had to walk through a gauntlet of smokers standing right outside the doors (every day every night) only to find the rooms we reserved were not available. The desk man found us an adequate solution in a junior suite which met our needs but not our expectations. The rooms were clean and the location was good. It was a busy place hosting a conference and a winter terrace bar in the evenings so we could not get close to the dining options available. Overall it is a nice place to stay but I wish they would do something about the wall of smoke at the entrance.

What a beautiful surprise this hotel was. We were on a long journey across Europe and needed a bed for the night. We did not expect to find such a clean and beautifully refurbished Hotel. The room was big, well furnished and with an outstanding bathroom. The selection at breakfast was amazing and set us up for a days travelling.

We spent one night here on the way home. It is a huge hotel with 100 rooms. A palatial building but quite a modern build. Our room - no. 101 - was spacious with a high ceiling and a jacuzzi! The bed was giant sized and quite soft and so comfortable. We could sleep in as breakfast was served until 11.00. Then it was a bit like \"into the fray\". The two small coffee machines had broken down so had to be fixed first. Bread had run out, no scrambled eggs either. So patience was required. But in spite of this, the breakfast was not bad at all once we got everything we needed. I think I'd book here again just for the comfortable bed.

Good value hotel which was completely refurbished five years ago. Rooms are quite small but bathrooms are large with bath and separate large shower.

The hotel was fantastic, and the price was very inexpensive for the quality of the hotel. The problem is that the the neighborhood is not the best; one may want to read the news about the January anti-terrorist raid in this town. The staff was not very helpful, I think the gentleman on the Front desk in the evening was new.

Came here on a business trip with 2 colleagues. We initially thought we were in the wrong place as we had got ourselves such a good bargain on Hotels.com. Open plan lounge downstairs very comfortable and great choice of drinks at the bar. Bar menu very varied and of a high standard. Service was excellent too. This was our second stay at this property. While the hotel is very nice, the area is somewhat industrial with a nearby strip mall. This is not unexpected since the hotel was warehouse for a train station. The restaurant on the property is very nice with a somewhat limited menu if you plan to stay for an extended period. The room I had this stay was on the top floor but the bed, TV, and phone was up a set of stairs in a loft. This made simple things like answering the phone while working at the table/desk far from easy or convenient. The other room I have occupied on a prior trip had a large circular bath with an very short shower hose which was also very inconvenient. None of these things is more than a nuisance, but I would suggest care in selecting a room. I likely will stay there again -- I just will ask about the layout at check in.

Voor €319,30 voor 2 nachten verwacht je kwaliteit en service die passen bij Van der Valk. Helaas was ons verblijf allesbehalve wat je van deze keten mag verwachten.
De eerste kamer had geen werkende internetverbinding op de tv en de kraan gaf enkel lauw tot koud water. Na melding kregen we een andere kamer, maar daar hing de douchekop scheef en zodra je deze recht wilde zetten begon hij te lekken. Het is teleurstellend dat zulke basiszaken niet vooraf worden gecontroleerd.
Bij de bar beneden hebben we ruim 10 minuten gewacht zonder dat iemand ons aansprak, terwijl personeel zichtbaar stond te praten en op de telefoon bezig was. Toen mijn partner uiteindelijk zelf vroeg om 2 baco en 2 shotjes, kregen we dubbele drankjes. Toen zij dit netjes aangaf, reageerde de medewerker zichtbaar geïrriteerd en zuchtend.

De eerste kamer had geen werkende internetverbinding op de tv en de kraan gaf enkel lauw tot koud water. Na melding kregen we een andere kamer, maar daar hing de douchekop scheef en zodra je deze recht wilde zetten begon hij te lekken. Het is teleurstellend dat zulke basiszaken niet vooraf worden gecontroleerd.
Bij de bar beneden hebben we ruim 10 minuten gewacht zonder dat iemand ons aansprak, terwijl personeel zichtbaar stond te praten en op de telefoon bezig was. Toen mijn partner uiteindelijk zelf vroeg om 2 baco en 2 shotjes, kregen we dubbele drankjes. Toen zij dit netjes aangaf, reageerde de medewerker zichtbaar geïrriteerd en zuchtend.

Zakelijk verblijf. Had er meer van verwacht. Kamer was niet helemaal netjes, er lagen nog etensresten in de vuilnisbak. Koffie was ook niet aangevuld. De fitness en welness waren niet open door werken. Was handig geweest om dit op voorhand te weten. Had erop gerekend om even te ontspannen na een drukke werkdag.
Het restaurant was prima! Het eten was heel lekker maar het moest allemaal heel snel gaan. Toch jammer!

Arrivés 1h30 après le début du check-in, notre chambre n'était pas prête. La réceptionniste, très gentille, nous a alors offert les boissons d'arrivée en attendant notre chambre. Personne ne venant prendre notre commande sur la terrasse, nous avons dû aller au bar pour commander.
Arrivés dans la chambre, nous avons constaté une chaleur terrible, malgré la climatisation installée. Il faisait 34 degrés dehors... Nous n'apprendrons qu'au check-out que la climatisation est en travaux... Nous avons donc dû dormir les fenêtres ouvertes, avons dû appeler à 23h30 poir que la musique extérieure soit baissée...
De plus. les matelas sont excessivement mous...

Knapp 3 Monate vor der Buchung bat ich um Stornierung trotz nicht stornierbarem Tarif. Das Hotel hat 2 Monate gebraucht eine Antwort zu schicken um zu sagen dass es nicht geht, auch nicht teilweise. Ruf dann am Check-in Tag an um zu fragen wo ich bliebe. Ich weise erneut auf die Korrespondenz hin, man ist \"very sorry\" dass man so lange gebraucht hat für eine Antwort, verweist gleichzeitig darauf dass man sehr stark ausgebucht sei in dieser Zeit (24h Rennen Spa) Mit anderen Worten hätte man zum Storno Zeitpunkt (knapp 3 Monate vor dem Buchungstag) problemlos das Zimmer erneut vermieten können hätte man nur WOLLEN. Dazu 2 Monate Zeit nehmen für eine Antwort ist nicht akzeptabel. Unabhängig vom Tarif hätte man hier kulant sein können.
