This is a great property to be close to the Arch Rock entry to Yosemite National Park. It was very convenient to have a mini fridge and kitchenette in the room. The property did have a nice store to get drinks and gifts.

Unfortunately, the property is under major construction and only one pool and spa was available for the time we were there so at times that was crowded with guests. Also because of the construction there was no convenient access to go to the river right next to the property, which is one of the things they highlight in their pictures. We also experienced a black out on one of the nights and electricity was out for at least 4 hours until 6a the next morning.

The restaurant that is on property is convenient since there is no other places to eat locally and has good service, but the food was mediocre. We ended up just eating at the places to eat in Yosemite.

We had a great room on the beautiful river & right next to the restaurant & pizzeria. Enjoyed it so much...sitting next to river drinking coffee. Our room had a kitchenette complete with eating & cooking utensils. Staff was accommodating & nice. Loved it!

Overall our stay was good. We had issues with our air conditioning not working in one of the bedrooms. After some fiddling, we just turned it off and ran the air conditioner in the other bedroom as cold as possible and used fans to circulate the air. The location was convenient, clean and the kids enjoyed the pool.

Room wasn’t clean there was a spiderwebs and little bugs in the webaround the window in the bathroom .
The shower head was awful , curtain shower was flying when I turn on the shower .
The front desk people are not really friendly.
I felt like they didn’t really want me to be there.
Not smiling no hello how are you?
They were not really happy to do their job .
I’m sure not coming back again to this hotel again.

The location is perfect just a few miles from the Yosemite entrance. We got a river view room and it was really worth it as we ate on the balcony most nights. The room was very comfortable with the frig and microwave. The restaurant on site was convenient for the days we got home late, as there are few dining spots around. We had to call for towels at the pool every day, so I would recommend that they check this more often. They were able to put us right next door to the other party we were traveling with which was really nice!

I really enjoyed my stay at Yosemite View Lodge. The biggest advantage of this place is its convenience, being just 2 miles from the Yosemite National Park entrance. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made the stay pleasant.

The kitchenette is fairly basic, but it is sufficient for simple cooking and preparing quick meals, which was very helpful after a long day of exploring the park.

Overall, this is a great place to stay if you’re visiting Yosemite and looking for comfort, convenience, and easy access to the park. I would gladly stay here again.

The lodge was clean and had a beautiful view to the creek. Even though it's older, the rooms are maintained well and the beds were comfortable. The only issue we had was that WiFi didn't come up to our room and there were limited areas on the property where we could connect to the internet to look up hikes.

It is true this is the closest property outside of the park only a few minutes to the Arch Rock Entrance. The front desk staff were wonderful. I left a bag of clothes in our room and spoke with Liz at reception once I realized and she has been unfailingly helpful in the return of the items. This year it is especially key to be close to the park. Even a ten minute delay in getting to the parking lots of Yosemite Valley could mean the difference between seeing and not seeing the Valley. We had a spacious room with a balcony that overlooked the river with a pleasing sound. The mini kitchen was new and very functional. I would definitely stay here again.

Yes, its an older place, but the location to Yosemite is priceless. My room was comfortable. The kitchette was perfect for making breakfast. Onsite pizza place was good. Bonus having an on-site laundromat. Bathroom could use some updates, but again, to be this close to Yosemite in a clean, comfortable place far outweighs any negative I can think of

The facility is older and a little tired. But the room was clean with huge TV’s and neat electric fireplaces. Staying next to the river is really nice. In our room our outlets weren’t working, therefore the lamps didn’t work and we were unable to charge our phones next to our bed. The kitchen was missing several standard pieces to make cooking more doable. Our microwave did not work, we had only one hand towel and very little dish soap. We had to use towels from the bathroom to wash or dry our dishes. No potholders, and very limited cooking utensils. The game room was a bonus! The kids loved it! The staff was very nice. I would stay again.

We stayed here for one night while visiting Yosemite at the recommendation of a friend. After I booked our room, I began seeing not so great reviews and wondered if I had done the right thing and even considered canceling and going somewhere else. I’m so glad I didn’t. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We booked a room on the river which was running pretty high. So cool. The ONLY complaint we had was the internet. It left a lot to be desired.

The great things about Yosemite View is the location right outside the park entrance and having a kitchenette in the room. We had a river view room which was wonderful. Our room was very large and was clean upon arrival. Upkeep of the rooms and common areas are not the best. The room itself was good but the bathroom was in need of some refreshing and repair. Having the game room was really fun, but there were a few things that weren't working. The pool near our room was closed for construction and it was a long walk up to the one that was available so we ended up not using it. We are at the Pizza deck which was good and the staff there was friendly. The check in area and store could also use a little refreshing.

Rooms were clean. Had plenty of pools and hot tubs, game room was nice as it was raining on of our days. The outdoor sitting area was nice had an onsite laundry room. Didn't try the restaurants but they do have a little conscience store for some basic items. Overall I would stay here again.

Good points:
The location is excellent—very close to the valley entrance. The lodge sits right on the riverbank, and the experience of sitting on the balcony and watching the river is truly relaxing and enjoyable. There are two on-site restaurants, one serving American/Italian cuisine and the other a pizza shop. Both are decent, at least above average. There is also a convenience store where you can buy essentials, including beer, wine, and spirits.

Bad points:
This is not a high-end or upscale property. The building is quite old and has more of a motel-like feel. The rooms often have an unpleasant smell, and overall maintenance outside the rooms is just average. Considering the price—often around $500 per night—the property does not feel like it offers good value.

Can't beat the location. We had a river front room which was just beautiful. The property is showing it's wear in a few areas, but overall it was fine. The on-site store was helpful as there is really nothing around to purchase provisions. Be sure to stock up on your necessary groceries before you leave the Yellowstone Market area. The pizza restaurant was very good. Otherwise, dining options are minimal. We would stay there again just for the river and close proximity to Yosemite.

The lodge was located very conveniently to Yosemite National Park and the views were breathtaking! The rooms and accommodations were very good. Not much nearby in the way of shops and dining except for the on-site gift shop and restaurants, so plan ahead for food. The pizza was delicious, but the restaurant food was just okay. I would definitely recommend and return to this location!

Perfect location for a trip to Yosemite National Park. Staff was good and quick to respond to any requests. Room was big and the washroom was huge. Few downsides - No elevator, carry your luggage if you are living on the 2nd floor. Breakfast is paid but coffee is not included. Struggled to find parking. It rained when we were checking out and with no lobby , we almost got drenched to move the luggage to the car.

The lodge is well located, easy to get to and the on site convenience store had all the essentials we needed like milk, eggs, bread, butter etc. the restaurant had a good buffet spread for breakfast, our room was spacious, high ceilings, but very dusty and we found some bugs on our pillow. We requested the maintainance to vacuum our room which they did. After that it was better. If the standard room above the lobby which we had was nicely cleaned, dusted and bedding all cleaned, our experience would have been better. But all in all, good location, nice amenities and spacious room and big bathroom in standard rooms with 2 queen beds.

A pleasant one night stay, our room was across from a busy and somewhat noisy construction project on-site where they worked until after 5:30. Room was very nice but Evening TV quality was from the 1960’s. Beds were very comfortable. Nice little kitchenette was convenient. We did not make use of amenities or food.

It was a great location, very close to the entrance to Yosemite. We really appreciated having a kitchen. It was very small, but still functional and useful. Since there are very few restaurants around El Portal, being able to cook our own meals was a big advantage. One thing to keep in mind is that you still have to drive into the park every day, and during busy times of the year, getting in can take quite a while. We visited before Memorial Day weekend, so fortunately we didn’t run into that issue.

The lobby was not very receptive. The customer service was poor, not friendly.
I ask for extra pillows for three people staying in the room and they said they can give only two pillows, extra. They refuse to give more.
The rooms were pathetic very old furniture, not clean, the furniture is likely from the 80s not well maintained. The patio was not clean.
The shower did not work properly.
This was one star property and a three star as claimed on hotels.com.
They do not provide free coffee, free cups or anything.
This should be removed from your hotel list

Our room sat right above the Merced River. Listening to the roar of the river was mesmerizing. The motel sat just outside the park entrance, so it was a great location to access Yosemite National Park. Unfortunately, the pool by our room was out of commission. We didn’t access the game room, but checked in on it. It had a lot of options that had we not been exploring the park every minute, we would have taken advantage of it.

Great location near yosemite. Much of the property was ‘under renovation’ so a few of the pools/spas were closed. There are really NO restaurants near by but there are kitchenettes in the room if you bring your own stuff. The pizza was decent. The food in the restaurant was fair at best.

Location is great, very close to el portal entrance to Yosemite. And the room and bathroom were spacious. BUT - the mattress is so old and soft, the room is on the highway, and the windows have no shades, so we couldn’t sleep at all. It was HORRIBLE. Doesn’t worth over $400 a night if you can’t sleep!

The view from jacuzzi tub and patio was amazing, we had a surprisingly large room with great river view from all rooms. It would have been nice to have more towels and additional amenities such as hand lotion etc. The decor was a bit dated but the overall experience was great

The property is outside of Yosemite park, about half an hour drive without traffic from the Valley. Beautiful scenery right next the the river. Unfortunately, our room was on the road side away from the water, but a short walk and there were rocking chair you can seat, enjoy and soak in the whole surrounding. Kind of pricey though. Room was small, a little stuffed, but clean and well stocked. No paper towels (we asked) in the kitchen. We had to ask for dish soap & sponge. We had a good time though.

Had a wonderful stay - booked the Loft as everything was full. Was only for myself and place was HUGE. I didn't use the loft. Probably great for small families. Place was clean and quiet; grounds were spotless. Front desk staff helpful. Loved having a kitchenette, as I prefer to eat in, make my coffee in the morning :) Only thing I would do is bring my own travel pillow next time - the pillows are very lumpy, as was the mattress. Hot tub was a great way to end a long day of hiking. Happy travels!

Nice bonus sink and two small burners, I was not expecting a kitchenette with dishes and probably some pans. Next time bring some food to cook, because there really aren't a lot of restaurants from which to choose, in the Yosemite vicinity. Very large room. Nice hot tub and refreshing swimming pool. Only a couple of them were open, as we were there in early May.

The room was clean and in order. Cleaning service is only done on request. The staff is very unprofessional, unfriendly and not knowledgeable of the property. While trying to find a fire pit, we were directed to a BBQ. When we returned to the lobby, the staff finally figured out the difference between a fire pit and a BBQ and then proceeded to tell us that the hotel does not provide firewood. Note, they do not sell firewood in their store either. The staff was very rude when asked questions. Breakfast was disgusting. They show a menu online, but they only offer a buffet of about 6 items that were not worth the price. The restaurant, lounge and pizza place is closed all day long so there is nothing offered as far as hot food or drink goes, unless you want to purchase a hungry man frozen dinner in the lobby. The property is beautiful and it could be so much more if the right person or investors were to purchase it. Needless to say, I’d rather stay further down the hill and have better service than to stay at this place. Very disappointed customer.

An amazing hotel! Great location, close to the main attractions in Yosemite. 5 min drive to the park entrance. 15 min drive to the first waterfall. Spacious, clean rooms, we had a room with a river view which was the best decision we could made. We had a huge patio to enjoy time in the morning or evening. The room has a fridge, an electric stove, toaster, coffee maker. Friendly staff, clean property. Highly recommended if you want a nice hotel in Yosemite.

Loved our room with balcony overlooking the river! The jetted tub was perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking. In room gas fireplace added to room ambiance. The hotel will light the communal fire pit if you ask & we had a memorable time making Smores. Pizza place on site was delicious! Hotel is located just outside of Yosemite park entrance. Location, location, location! We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay, thank you!
