I tried to reached to them a week before my travel to get some information about the transport options to the hotel nobody responded i was already heading towards the hotel when i received an email in italian with useless information. On the day of arrival at reception they told me most of the facilities are closed including the restaurant none of this was mentioned while i made the bookings. The lady at the reception on 23rd around 13:30 while speaking to me in between exchanged words in her language with her staff member and both laughed and passed weird expressions which is very unprofessional and insulting to do to your guests. We went into the room noticed even the basic things are not in the room for a 4 star hotel. Only 2 water bottles in the fridge no kettle no tea bags no iron, Broken cupboards, Ants in the balcony, broken hair dryer, noisy Bed We asked them for extra towels 3 times finally had to get down and ask for 4 time.The AC was blowing air not cooling the room due to this my 1 year old got unwell and had temperature. I requested to make the AC work nothing changed. We went to speak at the reception and when we mentioned our baby is unwell they laughed at us at this moment we realised its a very unsafe place to stay.extremely rude and unprofessional staff worst hotel experience of my life.I had to leave the hotel and make another booking at a different place.

Overall the hotel is nice but needs some maintenance. We did not get towels on the first night because the reservation showed only one person even though we paid for the extra. Front desk personnel was not in a good mood and not nice at all. Cafeteria personnel was more kind.

The sea facing rooms are lovely .
The STANDARD rooms are small with the worst views I’ve ever seen …. You can almost touch the laundry lines on the building opposite.
I’m not exaggerating. !

This is a very modern hotel in a kind of rural area. The hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff were lovely! They couldn’t have been any more helpful. We checked in and found the plug for the hot tub on our balcony wasn’t working properly. Reception got maintenance who couldn’t instantly fix the problem so we were moved to the room next door. This room was exactly the same but the hot tub was fully functioning. The breakfast at the hotel was good. A large variety of options. We had lunch and cocktails from the bar area at the front of the hotel which was again lovely. We were treated to complimentary local delicacies whilst having our drinks. We stayed end of May and the whole area was very quiet. The beaches were empty but were beginning to get set up for the summer season. We were the only people sunbathing and swimming in the outdoor pool area. Which is a very rare opportunity! We walked to a local supermarket approximately 5mins away. We walked along the beach front for dinner locally and found a variety of local seafood based restaurants. Overall the stay could not have been any nicer. We will be back.

Parking was shown as free when we booked, however desk clerk wanted to charge us $10. Air conditioning system was inadequate and could only be set at 22 deg. C at the coldest… it never got cooler than 25 degrees in the room. Great location!!!

We had a horrible experience!! When you pay close to $600 for 2 days, you expect to have things like a working fridge in your room, we had to get ice, from the bar, 2 floors down, 2-3 times per day to keep the food we had bought cold! We had a shower that constantly flooded the entire bathroom and hallway floor and most importantly, a patio door that didn’t open and close properly!!! The reason we rented this one and paid all this extra money was because we had a hot tub on our balcony, so what’s the point of that if we can’t go out because the door won’t open, and when we do manage to get it open, it won’t close, hence letting all the mosquitoes in and being bitten all night long!!! The place was also infested with fruit flies.
When we asked to speak to a manager to try and get some type of compensation for all of this, we were told in a VERY rude way that the managers weren’t there, she wouldn’t put us in contact with them and basically told us to leave! Worse hotel EVER and we have travelled all over the world!
I absolutely do NOT recommend this hotel!!!

The only positive thing I have the say is that it had an amazing view!

The hot tub in the room was very good fun, The hotel is very modern but a little far out of Taormina, the sea views are amazing but the pebble beach is not so fun.. The property had very little information about the room and area, we had a couple of issues with the toilet and a loud noise coming from ventilation system which the reception didn’t seem too interested in. Bar staff have a great service and very friendly as were the restaurant staff and food was very nice, maybe a little more choice is needed. The rooms were cleaned very well daily!

Nice Hotel in a quiet town near Taormina

Hotel is fine with good housekeeping staff. Our rooms were cleaned very early each morning while we were having breakfast. Front Office staff do not speak a lot of English, but they are very helpful. Breakfast in the weekends is pretty good, but on Monday and Tuesday mornings the pastries and croissants were staled and obviously from the weekend. Overall a good place for one night or max two.

Nice hotel, decent pool area

Hotel is not too bad, about 20 min drive to Taormina and has free parking outside. Modern looking and decent WIFI connection inside of the hotel.
Staff were quite helpful every time I spoke to them.

Area is ok, it is next to a rocky beach, not many food places around. Great for a short stay.
Breakfast was the same each day, nothing amazing.

Very happy in a standard room at Main Palace Hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, even driving me to the closest laundromat to do my washing. The only one downside was that the wireless internet in my room was slow from time to time. Apart from that I would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Sicily.

Location and quality

The hotel is located across the road from the beach which was its only redeeming quality. It cannot be considered as a 4* hotel by any normal comparisons and seemed to be the only substantial hotel in Roccalumera. Rear facing rooms have a dreadful view but sea view rooms are ok. Food was mediocre and expensive. Parking is crazy and overcrowded. The hotel is very impersonal and sterile. As a resort Roccalumera has few facilities and is quite run down.There are no decent restaurants for miles around but plenty of noise in the evening so not good if you want to sleep at night. Better to go to Taormina and give Roccalumera a miss.

The rooms in the hotel is very run down. Quality of the food for breakfast is poor and the staff stop bring out food 30mins before breakfast is finished even when there are new guest arriving. Servers look very uninterested. Shower in the room is stains.

What we booked was not what we received!

On booking in we discovered that we did not get the room we booked through Hotels.com, after bringing this to the hotel managements attention we were not able to get them to change our room... We then contacted Hotels.com over e-mail and although I got a response it was only to say that they could not get hold of the management and then placed the ball right back into my court which left us rather disappointed and questioning the booking platforms integrity. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone as it was off the beaten track with not much surrounding the hotel. Although there was a language barrier to try to overcome we did not feel that we received a service equal to other hotels we have visited. Although the hotel seems to have been recently revamped the rooms were very plain and we had issues with the shower, toilet and extraction fan.
Our saving grace was a little treasure of a restaurant less than a kilometer from the hotel called La Galleria del Gusto, this we would highly recommend if stuck in the area.

Lovely hotel, but loud music & disinterested staff

Luxury room with jacuzzi and soundproofing in rooms not too bad, however very loud thumping music until approx 2am most nights. A horrendously loud booming roof party on the Saturday night. Reception staff consistently uninterested on all levels. e.g. Ordered prepacked Breakfasts did not arrive, concerns over noise levels not addressed, lack of help with lost luggage & assistance booking theatre tickets. Also hotel advertised as having wifi although extremely unreliable.

Nice comfortable stay, off the main grid

We were travelling in sicily and needed a plce to stay in one night on our way north. This hotel was reasonably priced and had promising photos online. It is in roccalumera which is a 40 euro cab ride from the taormina train stop. The hotel may have a shuttle service, but they did not advertise it online (i only disocvred this after i asked about a taxi/car service to take us up north, which was 120 euro for 8 people, great price). The hotel was facing the water, directly across the street from the ocean. There are no other large hotels nearby. The hotel seems to be older but was renovated and has a nice modern look. Given the price (approx 125$ per night) it was higher than comparable american standards. They were picky about the number of people staying in each room and charged an extra 10 euro per guest but i think that is standard in europe. Free breakfast was 1/5 stars.

The hotel location is about 20 min by car from main activity in toarmina. The hotel is new, clean and has a nice pool. Its on the beach but you have to pay extra 5 euros each person for private beach access. The breakfast needs to be improved. Overall very nice hotel.

We found the Main Palace to be a very good hotel with friendly and helpful staff.Some staff members speak english but don,t expect english to be widely spoken outside of the hotel.The cleanliness and general upkeep of the Main Palace is to a very good standard and we were made to feel very welcome.During the evenings there is entertainment outside next to the bar area so expect some noise,so if you want a quieter room ,ask for one a little farther away from that area.The shingle beach is just a few yards away across a road and during our stay was rarely crowded.
Roccalumera is a quiet coastal town with very few bars and eateries so we tended to drive fifteen minutes into Taormina most evenings for dinner.
Initially we thought the hotel was a little isolated but it only encouraged us to use our rental car to explore the wider area which is certainly worth the effort(Sicily is a beautiful island and its inhabitants are welcoming).
Based on our stay there, we would certainly think about a return visit at some point in the future.

lovely Manager - very helpful

when we arrived the Manager welcomed us with Champagne and nibbles - he was very polite and said that we had an upgrade - which in fact is what we booked. Having stayed in many Hotels all over the world - I think this should be 2 star not 4. Food was lovely for breakfast, but not very imaginative for Dinner. However the Hotel was in a great position overlooking the sea. Unfortunately the roof garden was not open - all the potted plants were dead and it was being done up - pity this was not completed before the start of the season - All areas were clean and tidy with the exception of the front of the Hotel - the first impression - bits and pieces of rubbish on the grass

EXCELLENT... with a little FYI

I stayed for 8 days and will definitely return many times. I went on business and needed absolute quiet while I worked. I choose this hotel since they feature sound-proof rooms. HOWEVER... the rooms themselves are mostly soundproofed to your neighbors - EXCEPT for the door and the balcony door. You can hear everything going on in the hall and if your neighbors are out on their balcony, you can hear everything through the glass doors. Those were the only \"bummers\" on my trip. The staff was OUTSTANDING and they went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed/wanted. I look forward to going back this fall!

Great modern hotel with very nice staff!

Recently spent 5 nights here and was not disappointed. Hotel is modern and very clean and all staff we encountered, especially Maryl and Maria-Antoinetta at the desk were very hospitable and helpful.
Location is great being right across from the beach and only a 20 minute drive to Taormina. I do recommend that you have a car though since you will have to drive to the regular tourist spots that are nearby, and there are many.

Main palace hotel

We stayed at the main palace hotel located about 16 km both of Taormina and used this as a base to see Taormina, Messina, my Etna, and if course Stromboli's very active vulcano which can be reached by boat and seen at night unless you decide to do one of the nightly hikes. The location of the hotel is away from the busy tourist areas and does require a car. The staff is friendly but most speak poor English and communication was an issue at times. Also expect to pay for parking and Internet unless you can settle with the free connection in the bar below. Getting around is easy using the affordable freeways.

It's just outside of Taormina in a place called Roccalumera so you escape the tourist traps. Top marks for these guys!

The hotel was right on the beach which was beautiful, but it was the only luxury facility in the town. There were no other quality restaurants in town. When we arrived our \"honeymoon\" suite was had a great view and hot tub in the middle of the room, but the hot water handle was broken and we fixed it ourselves or we would have to wait another day. It was a very good thing we rented a car or we would have missed all the sights.

The hotel was very clean and being right across from the beach was fantastic. The pool and pool area was great. We had a room with a spa on the balcony overlooking the beach but due to the all round clueless service from the girls at the front desk we couldn't use it. Great hotel but service needs to improve. ..they had sunscreen in their cabinet to purchase but they couldn't sell it (god knows why not). Hotel was full of 70 year old Germans which wasn't a bad thing because it meant we had the pool to ourselves.

Affordable luxury stay in Scicily

Stranded at the Catania airport, my wife and I decided to stay couple of days somewhere along the region's shore.
Going through TripAdvisor, we noticed Main Palace Hotel, with high ratings, low price and great photos.
Thinking even if some of the positives are accurate, we will be content.

We arrived, for a minimal extra charge, they gave us a room facing the ocean. Still, our expectations were not too high.

The room: Large, well appointed, modern, clean
The view: Just a few meters away from the ocean (across a narrow street)
The service: Daily cleaning with fresh high end Italian linens.

In 35 years of travelling around the world, this was perhaps one of the TOP two or three places I have ever stayed.
Everything was just right. There was a minor issue with air conditioning and it was fixed within one hour.
The breakfast was simple and great. Of course great espresso drinks were available.
Any \"tourist\" information we needed was provided with a smile and complete.

The area, a bit on the quiet side is PERFECT. You do not have to deal with the tourist crowd, however there is a bus station right outside the hotel that takes you up to the famous town of Taormina (dream of a place and expensive for overnight stay), as well as many other small town and villages along the shore.

We will be back there shortly. WE LOVED IT .....

Impossibile dormire dal rumore!

Ho scelto questo hotel per un weekend durante un viaggio di lavoro, purtroppo si è rivelata una pessima scelta. La notte fra Sabato e domenica l'hotel ha ospitato una festa privata con musica a locale ma a db da rave party fino alle 4:30 di mattina. In reception dicevano di non poter farci nulla. Ho dovuto chiamare i carabinieri per un intervento. Il direttore non si è fatto trovare, nessun tipo di scusa ho compensazione per questa gravissima mancanza di rispetto verso clienti paganti.

Erittäin mukava hotelli hyvällä sijainnilla merenrannalla. Siisti hotelli, mukavat huoneet, hyvä ilmastointi. Hyvä aamupala. Viihtyisä ravintola, missä aika kalliit ruuat ja juomat. Uima-allas alue muuten mukava, mutta allasbaari (mahdollisuus syödä ja juoda) olisi ollut hyvä. Uimahattu pakko ihmetytti eikä tästä ollut kerrottu missään. Voin suositella tätä hotellia!

Prima hotelkamer. Netjes en schoon. Maar enorm gehorig. In de ochtend word je gewekt de slaande deuren, stofzuigers en wc’s van de buren die doorgetrokken worden.
Men is niet heel erg vriendelijk bij de receptie of de bar. Wel bij het ontbijt overigens. Maar dat ontbijt was iedere dag hetzelfde. Voor mij prima, maar als je er langer bent is varieteit in beleg misschien wel prettiger.

En skuffende oplevelse. Meget kikset værelse med spa midt i værelset uden ordentlig afskærmning, Intet badeværelse, så man skulle bade i SPA.
God pool, dog uden nogen form for service. Solsenge fremstod snuskede og adskillige var defekte. Møbler i lobby og udeservering var meget slidte / defekte.
Det er IKK et fire stjernet hotel

Das Hotel hatte seine Blütezeit vor einigen Jahren. Mobiliar abgenutzt, Personal unsauber gekleidet, spärliches Frühstück. Den Wellness-Bereich sucht man vergeblich, nach Rückfrage wurde uns die Preisliste ausgehändigt, ein Besuch hätte für 90 Min. 90€ gekostet… haben wir nicht getestet. Hotelzimmer selbst sauber und ordentlich.

Personale gentile e disponibile, struttura da fuori bellissima ma dentro (nelle stanze poca cura) nella nostra stanza c’era una macchia di umido sul tetto la tenda mezza staccata dall’inizio del soggiorno alla fine. Per essere un 4 stelle ha pochi servizi. Scarso rapporto qualità prezzo!

Dire che è..... uno specchio dei tempi che furono..... forse rende l'idea. Struttura \"importante\", stile anni 80 che è di fatto abbandonata a sé stessa. Pulizia molto migliorabile e camere \"retrò\". Non si salvano manco i bagni.... anche qui forse erano validi 30 anni fa.
Giusto la colazione è accettabile e la cortesia del personale è ok

Rapporto qualità/prezzo non tanto buono

Albergo un pò caruccio rispetto a quello che offre. La camera era pulita ma aveva delle asciugamani vecchissime, i divanetti del balcone erano sprovvisti di cuscini, quindi la seduta un pò scomoda. Sconsiglio il ristorante dell'albergo (se si ha solo la colazione inclusa), perchè è troppo caro rispetto alla qualità del cibo. Il lido è a pagamento...e se chiedete un caffè espresso la mattina, per la colazione, (perchè quello della macchinetta è orribile) ve lo fanno pagare 1 euro! In compenso la signora addetta alla pulizia delle camere, sempre sorridente e gentilissima.

Una struttura veramente bella e curata nei minimi dettagli... Personale stupendo, molto gentile e disponibile... Abbiamo cenato e pranzato al ristorante dell'hotel dove si mangia da Dio, molto meglio degli altri posti(anche se non ho nulla da dire degli altri ristoranti dove ho mangiato)... La ragazza della SpA è giivane, cordiale e bravissima... Stanze curate in tutto, bellissime, comode... In poche parole il TOP 💯🔝... Un bellissimo hotel a conduzione familiare di cui tutti umili e gentilissimi e con cui abbiamo instaurato un bel rapporto... Lo consiglio vivamente anche a genitori con bambini... Ci ritorneremo presto.

Le camere sono abbastanza rumorose a causa del sistema di condizionamento che sebbene spento faceva rumore.
Il personale non è stato in grado di calmare ospiti con bambini che urlavano fino a tarda notte.

Una decepción cerca de la joya de Taormina

El servicio de recepción es lo peor que me he encontrado en mi vida, aparcar en el entorno es imposible y el hotel no ofrece ninguna alternativa; horrible.
El pueblo es feo, sin servicios turísticos.
En fin, a evitar rigurosamente.

Bell'hotel dove ho gia' soggiornato altre volte. Peccato la spiaggia antistante sia spesso molto sporca e mal tenuta. Buono anche il ristorante dell 'hotel ed il servizio in generale

Es ist ein schönes Hotel, und nur durch eine Straße vom Strand getrennt. Der Pool zum Meer hin ist auch sehr schön.

Jedoch hatte unser erstes Zimmer einen defekten Abfluss am Waschbecken (wurde am späten Abend nach der Meldung sofort repariert) Ameisen im Zimmer, mehrere Schönheitsfehler (abgeplatzter Putz,Farbe etc.) und Schimmel an der Decke !!! Wir haben zwar nach der Meldung und der Begutachtung von zwei Mitarbeitern ein neues Zimmer bekommen. Jedoch mitbekommen das dieses Zimmer am nächsten Tag wieder vergeben war.
Zusätzlich gibt es eine Art Klimaanlage, die jedoch nur zum heizen gedacht ist, und daher im Zimmer immer 25-26 grad waren. Nur durch öffnen der Balkon Türe für die ganze Nacht war ein leichtes herunter kühlen des Zimmers möglich. Jedoch ist hier mit Lärm von Autos auf der Straße und bei stürmischen Wetter auch vom Meer zu rechnen.
Wir hatten zusätzlich noch das Pech, dass eine Italienische Gruppe (Vermutung aufgrund der aufgeschnappten um 04:00 Uhr in der Nacht Lautstärke Unterhaltungen im jacuzzi auf ihrem Balkon geführt hat.

Da das Hotel eigentlich ganz schön ist, jedoch für uns eher negative Erinnerungen bereit hält, sollte jeder für sich entscheiden, ob ihn diese Dinge stören oder nicht.
