From the time I arrived, I felt comfortable. Security was in the parking lot to ensure the property was secure and people not staying at the hotel were escorted away. The check in process was very quick and easy. All staff members were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, stocked with all items needed and comfortable. The restaurant and bar area on top of the hotel lends to the best view of Boudhanath close by. The spa is wonderful. The hotel does not have a fitness center but that would be my only complaint. This place is a definite recommendation for anyone staying in Kathmandu. Highly recommend. Others maybe be cheaper but cleanliness and sanitary conditions are worth the cost. Trust me. I tried the cheaper options first. Not worth it at all…

I have stayed at many hotels while in Kathmandu Nepal. So far, Tibet international has far exceeded in any other hotel stay. Proximity to tourist sites, shopping, Excellent food options, and a beautifully maintained property. Check in process was very accommodating and quick. The rooftop Bar and restaurant are very convenient and provide beautiful picture opportunities. The spa is located on property and is a very nice addition. I would say the only thing missing is a fitness center or gym of some type but small concession when I think about my experiences at other hotels. This was my first time traveling to Nepal. For those traveling to Thamel for tourist attractions, you would be much better served staying at Tibet International and taking a short taxi ride. The hotel is clean, maintained and staff is very responsive and accommodating. Out of the 4 different hotels in the city I’ve stayed at, I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Not far from the airport as well!

I loved staying in the quiet, spacious, clean rooms overlooking the courtyard. The hotel staff were exceptional--helpful in every way. And I thought the decor was beautiful. The food in the hotel restaurant was delicious--and the views from the rooftop were outstanding. I will return the next time I am in Kathmandu.

The hotel is very convenient to the Buddha Stupa, a major attraction in Kathmandu so our tour group stayed there on our one night ending the tour. My partner and I stayed an extra night to tour around Kathmandu. It was not the most convenient location for general tourism. It met our needs, but I would choose a more central spot if staying a few days.

Great hotel about 5 minutes walking from Boudhanath Stupa. Rooms were large, clean, and comfortable. The fresh fruit waiting in my room after a long flight was an especially nice touch. The restaurant overlooks the stupa and has one of the best views in the city. The staff was very friendly and accommodating towards all of my requests. They were even happy to store my bags for two weeks while I was trekking in the Khumbu region. I look forward to staying here again during my next visit to Kathmandu.

Wonderful spacious room with comfortable bed and true sound proof walls - a rare find in this area of Kathmandu! Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful at all times. Favorite Hotel in Nepal

I had the most wonderful 3-day stay at Hotel Tibet International in early January of 2020. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean, the bed was super comfortable and water for the tub was hot. The staff are lovely and always helpful and the food is delicious!
I stayed in 4 hotels across Nepal during a month’s visit and Hotel Tibet International was my favorite by far!

Fantastic Hotel!

After traveling for a week in Asia, I knew I would need a break from some of the more rustic conditions I had been staying in. Hotel Tibet provided the perfect respite. Kathmandu is overwhelming & the beautiful hotel provided a comforting place to stay. The room was gorgeous & hotel staff were very helpful answering any questions I had about the area. I ate in the hotel restaurant for dinner because of the extensive choices. The hotel breakfast was also delicious with a wide range of choices from hard boiled eggs, omelets, cereal, yogurt, many hot dishes & fresh fruit. The hotel is within walking distance to the Boudha Stupa which I visited several times. I highly recommend this hotel & would definitely stay there again.

The location was amazing. The view of the Boudha Stupa was great from the rooftop restaurant. (The restaurant also served great breakfast.) The room was clean, the shower had hot water (which is NOT the case at all hotels in Nepal). They even gave me a Tibetan white scarf when I left. Very happy with my choice.

STAY HERE instead of a hotel in Thamel. You won't regret it.

I’m a fan of Hotel Tibet International

OK, just a leeetle pricey for Kathmandu, but Hotel Tibet International was a delightful oasis in the dust and confusion that is Boudhanath. Superb service, happy friendly workers, spacious clean comfortable rooms, and a great little restaurant. Can’t speak highly enough of my 5 day stay there.

Big hotel with lots of amenities

We spent a day and a half in Kathmandu after our trek before flying out. Hotel Tibet International was a convenient place to park for that time. The rooms were comfortable, had lots of public spaces to read in, the best wifi we had during our whole time in Nepal, and had a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks. It was across the street from Boudhanath, so we stopped by both days for sightseeing and souvenir shopping.

Still a pleasure

This was our second time - the first was pre-earthquake. It is in the process of repair and some of the earlier functions (e.g. rooftop restaurant) are yet to be restored. Despite this, the room was sensational, the service top-class and the restaurant still hard to beat. The local environs are diabolical but its proximity to the Boudha stupa was appreciated. Walking into our room after the ongoing chaos of Kathmandu was a major plus.

Hotel Tibet International - First Class!

I was treated with incredible hospitality from the moment I arrived at Hotel Tibet International to the moment I left. The location was perfect, being a short walking distance to Boudhanath Stupa and a taxi ride from the countless other World Heritage Sites in and around Kathmandu. As a coeliac, my dietary requirements were met too, with the hotel offering delicious food from worldly cuisines. All of the staff were remarkably friendly, always willing to help and ask about your day. From someone who has travelled quite extensively, Hotel Tibet International comes highly recommended. Go and check it out!

After three weeks in Nepal, we knew we had a long flight home to Sri Lanka ahead of us! We found Hotel Tibet to be a beautiful oasis, at least a 30 minute drive to the airport, but less than 2 miles away from the airport. Traffic in Kathmandu is definitely a challenge! The staff was gracious and helpful. Not only did they allow us to check in early, they upgraded us to a beautiful suite where we had a comfortable bed that felt like a dream & lovely accommodations. We could take a hot shower/bath! We finally had excellent internet access to touch base with our family! We ate lunch and dinner at the restaurant. The menu had great variety at reasonable cost. Everything we had was delicious and the service was great! The views of the city from the terrace on the 6th floor were amazing. The only thing we missed was having a sunset view over the city since that part of the property is under renovation. We were grateful for a night of good rest & opportunity to repack as we prepared to leave. We hope to return and stay at Hotel Tibet again!

Very good hotel, great location, affordable price.

Was just a little disappointed as I had requested for the 3 rooms booked to be next to one another which was confirmed but when I checked in 2 of the rooms were separated. One of the rooms had some bad smell coming from the bathroom. Something that impressed was one of the rooms had a late check out of the last day and the additional charge was very kindly waived.
Other than that, was happy with the service and amenities. The cafe served pastries and very good coffee, only a bit expensive.

The hotel is a bit overpriced for Kathmandu. Other properties at that price point are significantly superior and comparable properties are much less costly.
This is much closer to a three rather than 5 star property.

Lovely hotel; great place

Hotel Tibet International was a great place to stay. It's in Boudha, the 'little Tibet' of Kathmandu, and is appointed in Tibetan furnishings. The rooms are clean, attractive, with aircon/heating as well as open-able windows, and gave us a great view over Kathmandu, They were also a welcome quiet retreat from the busy streets. Breakfast at the rooftop cafe was a great way to start the day, with a terrific view; good for getting bearings and hearing the early morning chants start at the stupa just down the road! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend it.

SO GOOD I'M BACK AGAIN!

I stayed here four years ago. That made my hotel choice easy.
Nice quiet location near a short shopping street with a few restaurants nearby.
A fabulous attentive Five Star staff!
The Tibetan-themed décor is absolutely fabulous - amazing details. One can just keep looking to see more and more especially in the lobby.
The Yeti Bar and Terrace on the 5th floor is a good place to eat, drink and unwind; and chat with other world travellers.

My girlfriend and I spent two nights at the hotel as a waystop between Bhutan and Tibet. The place was comfortable, clean, efficient, friendly, 150 yards from one of the main Stupas, had large, well-appointed rooms and a very nice roof top restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful. Also reasonbly close to the airport. Thorouhly worth the experience. I would stay there again.

This is the best hotel experience I have ever had. The location is excellent, walking distance to Bhouda Stupa. The hotel staff were absolutely amazing, I have never received service like we received at Hotel Tibet International. The front desk was so helpful in helping us plan activities and went above and beyond with every request we had. The food was amazing, as well as the kitchen staff. They were so attentive and friendly. The hotel is spotless and the decor is unreal. There is so much detail and love that went into this hotel and it is reflected in how you are treated as a guest. We regularly stay at 5 star hotels when travelling and I found this to be my favorite hotel experience. In every way the hotel and staff exceeded my expectations. We had booked a 5 star hotel for half of our trip in Thamel and we cancelled to stay at Hotel Tibet International.

Perfection at Kathmandu

Can't say enough about how fantastic our stay was at Hotel Tibet International. The service is the best we have ever encountered at any hotel anywhere in the world, whether it involved sightseeing arrangements, room service, reception, housekeeping, etc. It was the first time we had left missing the staff of the hotel rather than the comfort of our accommodations (which was also close to perfect). Only minor issue was their wifi coupon system and the reliability of the Internet service, but that is almost neglible compared to all the pros of our stay. Cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Cosy Hotel

This hotel was a far better than the Radisson, which we stayed on the first 2 days of our stay in Kathmandu. The rooms were big and cosy. The location was quite strategic as it was very near to the Boudhanath Stupa. My only flaw about this hotel was the television was not working during my entire stay there. I was annoyed as there was nothing to do once I was back in the room at night. I was also following the news on the recent crash on QZ8501 and could not watch any of the news channel. The wifi was wonky too and if you don't use it continuously it will log off automatically. So that was rather annoying too...to constantly log in ... whenever i wanted to surf the net or msg someone. If you dont need to be connected constantly, then I would recommend this hotel.

Best hotel in Kathmandu

I used two hotels in Kathmandu, the TIH and anther 5 star hotel, this hotel was almost exceeding the 5 star in everything. The location just few steps of Buddanth, away from the Thamel area.
It is a little bit off the beaten touristic area but the hotel is wonderful.. The only remark is there breakfast, very basic, few selection and very basic tough bakery, but you ate in Kathmandu after all.

Great location and service

This relatively new hotel is at walking distance from the Boudhanath Stupa, the only place in Kathmandu attractive to walk around in the afternoons or evenings, among shops and restaurants. The hotel is large enough to have international service standards and reliable facilities such as WiFi, reservations, currency exchange and breakfast. Airport pick-up and drop-off is included if you write to them with your flight info.

Tibetan style with elegance at Boudhanath Stupa

I was welcomed with a refreshing glass of chilled tea on a hot, sultry day. The service was consistently friendly yet professional - helpful with everything I needed on arrival in Nepal. The room was large, comfortable and clean. Elegant Tibetan style decor. Good bathroom and toiletries. Hot water and electricity all day and night despite the blackouts. I dined in for breakfast and dinner - very happy with the food. As good as five star.

Absolutely wonderful stay; I only stayed one night but I would happily have moved my flights and stayed more nights if I had the money! From start to finish, customer service was excellent; I was welcomed with a smile and complimentary drink and shown to my room by welcoming and friendly staff, who chatted happily about my experiences in Nepal. The reception staff were more than happy to answer all my questions, tell me where the nearest ATM was, what was around in the area, send postcards for me, print off my plane boarding pass, call me a taxi etc. SO SO HELPFUL and spoke faultless English. Room was superb, finished to a high standard, and a bathroom I would have enjoyed even had I not been staying for 3 weeks without a proper western toilet and shower! Completely worth the money; we would pay at least twice as much for the same standard in Britain.

Wonderful service in a rustic setting

This is a wonderful hotel owned by a Tibetan family. The staff is beautifully trained and can't seem to do enough for you. At first sight we were a little surprised at the rustic rather crowded building and the labyrinth passageways getting from one building to the other.It reminded me of early hotels in China. We thought perhaps we should have stayed at a more American style hotel. Then the charm grew on us, and we particularly enjoyed the rooftop restaurant for breakfast with the view of the Stupa and the mountains. Room service was excellent and instantaneous. When we couldn't get into the restaurant our first night because of a big group they sent the food to our room. Shopping was easy because we were so close to the Boudhanath Stupa. When my son fell and hurt his arm sightseeing the hotel sent for a doctor and probably delivered twenty loads of ice to our room.

Awesome views from great hotel

We stayed here just one night, but wish it could have been longer. This has got to be the best place in Nagarkot, a small village 60-90 minutes from Kathmandu. Don't miss sunrise on the expansive roof deck - our room had a balcony, but the deck was much better and had a staff member pointing out mountains. The restaurant (not the on-property Tea House) was nothing fancy, but very good and inexpensive by western standards.

Hotel is just 10-15mins drive from airport, very close by to amenities, less than 5mins walk to Buddhanath temple.

Limited food choice in the hotel but overall great service makes up for that.

Hotel spa is priced 3 times more than what you can get for a fraction of the price downtown.

This hotel is a sanctuary from the the dirty, polluted and over crowded Kathmandu. Only minutes away from the Boudhanath Stupa but a little far from the city center. The hotel staff is very nice and will try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. A great value for the price.

I stayed here for one night at the end of my trip in Nepal. It was fantastic! The room was beautiful and comfortable. The location was near the stupa so I was able to see a few sights even though I didn't have very much time before my flight. The only thing I'd improve is the coffee, but I am an admitted coffee snob!

Excellent service from the front desk, restaurants and spa. The best compliment I can give is that I will definitely be returning to Hotel Tibet International if I'm visiting Kathmandu again. It's also a bonus to be a stone's throw away from Boudhanath and a 15-20min taxi ride from the main city area and the airport.

The Hotel Tibet is situated at stone's throw away from one of the biggest Kathmandu attraction - The Boudha. Its also fairly near to the world famous \"Pashupatinath Temple\". The hotel is run by very customer oriented people and by that i don't just mean the manager but each and every employee of the Hotel. They will go out of their way to ensure you get a very comfortable stay. Its got an excellent SPA to relax. The food is good however the options are not too many. The chef however prepared some Indian food specially on request.Overall i would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to go to Kathmandu.

Excellent location close to Boudnath Stupa

This was an amazing experience for us after a three week journey through India. From the time we were picked up at the airport with bottles of cold water and cold towels, the service just got better. The staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

Nice in Nepal

Kathmandu is not the nicest of places but the Hotel Tibet International was an oasis. After a long overland trip through Tibet (including Everest Base camp) to lob into this hotel with its friendly, attentive staff was genuinely appreciated. We experienced three comfortable nights in a city that is not particularly comfortable.

Clean, great staff, great food!

I styed here for a few nights in August and really liked the location, staff and food. My king bed was two twins so that was a bit hard in the middle. I had no hot water one morning and when I came back that night it had been fixed. The internet was good - better than most places in the area... and the staff was amazing --- lots of free snacks and cold towels, they all knew my name. and the food was great! I would return again!!! Oh - and my room was HUGE!!!!!
