My wife and I stayed here for one night last year after Tomorrowland. Dinant is absolutely gorgeous, and this hotel is perfectly located right in the city center, which made it easy to explore. Just a heads up for future travelers - taxi and transport options in town are very limited. We ended up walking to the train station the next morning, so plan ahead if you need early transportation. Overall, a great spot in a beautiful town.

Room was value for money. Perfect for a one night stop over. Hotel staff friendly on check-in.
Breakfast was good to have as an option for €17, plenty of options. Loved the waffle maker.
A couple of things to note. Our shower fixture did not hold the shower upright, meaning you had to regularly reposition this/ or hand hold.
Only one towel provided per person. No hand towels in room. No tea/ coffee facilities in room.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful part of Belgium

Positives: Wonderfully situated hotel on the banks of the river Meuse in Dinant, a really interesting historical town. Easy walk to the Citadel, cable car, and restaurants.
Compact ‘school themed’ hotel with a nice selection of rooms, some overlooking the river. Compact breakfast room, bar area and reception. Lift and stairs available. Outside seating area over looking the river. Bar snacks available (pizza, spag bog etc).
Comfy bed, hot showers, air con, good amounts of parking with motorcycle parking right outside the door.
Some friendly staff, but some not so friendly.

Negatives: Unless you smoke beware! The outside seating area is very close to the bar and restaurant and under the bedrooms, so cigarette smoke is everywhere. There is no designated area away from non smokers. I personally found this a major negative.

Over priced for the room

Hotel looks a lot worse than the photos displayed on the site. Our room was located on the below the dining area and lobby, thus noisy and dark. You can see the people walking near your room. The bathroom is like the ones at the cruise ships and the pipe smelled bad. The breakfast buffet is mediocre. Positive feedbacks will be that it was easy checking in and out.

Offered parking on site for free and had a nice bar. Located on the riverfront and very nice. Didn't have their breakfast as cost but many options in town. This is a favourite stop-off point for us. Great beers on tap and lovely outside deck to enjoy them when the weather is sunny.
Good varied breakfast but many items missing on this Friday we were here; fine on the Saturday.
A kettle in the room would be welcome and a bathroom door that is much less noisy.
Parking is sadly no longer free and we spent an hour vainly trying to load the App.
Staff were very friendly.

A Lovely place to stay

We chose this hotel as an overnight stop on the way from Dunkirk to the Black Forest in Germany, purely because of its position along our route. We knew nothing about Dinant until much later. A fascinating place, lovely architecture, a small museum at the birthplace of Adolphe Saxe, inventor of the saxophone, and Maison Leffe, the home of my favourite Belgian beer! The hotel is clean and modern, beautifully situated on the river bank - a river view room is worth the extra charge if offered. They have a bar serving some foods, with a lounge overlooking the river, and a riverside patio to relax. Staff were very friendly and attentive, and seemed very proud of the place. Bedroom was very comfortable and of adequate size, and the location is within easy walking distance of a variety of cafes and restaurants. Parking, on the street or in any of the car parks, is charged hourly - 75 cents per hour when we visited - but only from 9am to 5pm, so overnight is free. There is a lovely atmosphere around town, and it warrants further exploration. Lots of guests of many nationalities, and the fact that many of them were returning guests speaks for itself. We only had an overnight stop, so sadly couldn't experience much of this lovely town, but we will be back for a longer visit, and will definitely stay at the Ibis Dinant Centre again! Highly recommended.

Great place to stay in Dinant, easy parking options, all sights in pleasant walk 5-10 minutes. Room was comfortable and clean, amenities are perfect. Good breakfast. Open terrace with a river view was an amazing place to enjoy local beer. Very friendly and professional staff: Jordan, Jekatherina, Pomme and Allan - they made our stay very comfy. And of course a fairy of the kitchen - Irina. Highly recommend that hotel, your expectations will be exceeded, I'm sure. Way to go!

Booked the hotel for location, not expecting a great deal but in the end, only redeemed by staff. Room, small but adequate, however a slight, 'kitcheney' smell in small wardrobe, not removed by leaving window open. Even more suprising, only two towels for the two of us. Don't know if they expect people to dry their faces on the same towel that they've dried their bodies on but didn't seem very hygienic to us. Asked at reception for extra but they only had one. Admitted that other guests had previously been unhappy about policy. Finally catering poor. Very limited snacks available (basically a couple of things they could microwave). Breakfast equally poor. Appeared not to replenish items (not many options) that had been used. Sorry, realise Ibis is a budget range but to parsimonious in their attitudes for us to consider using again.

Really good location just at the top end of the town. Lovely views of the river. Depending on times breakfasts can be a little manic with not enough tables but no real issue. Staff kept replenishing the food so all good
If there is one criticism, it's the rooms and bathroom are a little tired. Bed really comfy and you get a great view of the boats sailing down the river

Typical Ibis .... staff functional, but often seemed undermanned (1 person on reception AND bar at the same time). Bar area often untidy, lots of used cups, glasses etc. We paid extra for a river view, alarm bells when told to push -1 in the lift. Room was looking out on the river, plus a 15 foot wide concrete pavement completely open to the public. I'd suggest requesting a room on a higher floor and NO way should the price of these ground floor rooms be the same as other river view rooms. Breakfast was buffet style and satisfactory. Free WiFi. Room was very quiet.

Room comfortable but although we requested a quiet room and we checked in early, we were allocated a room next to a major service area where noisy disposal of rubbish took place.
We have enjoyed a snack and beers on the terrace many times but this was not available during our 2 day stay - a great pity as we enjoy the pression beers at Ibis.
The breakfast here is good with many choices but all choices were not available on the second day of our stay. We were surprised as this was a Saturday and probably a more popular day for guests.
Staff were friendly and our stay apart from the above concerns was good.

The hotel is ideally situated within the lovely town of Dinant, with easy free car parking next to the hotel. However our stay was spoilt by other guests who were noisy and obviously smoking in the corridor as the smell filled our room. Also the room was cold, the air conditioning did not work, if anything it made it colder!

This is the 7th ibis location I've stayed at in about as many countries.
This place is just like all the others. There was nothing too special about this particular one.
With that being said, it was very nice, the rooms were very clean and large. The check-in staff was very nice and helpful.
The hotel is very well located along the water, even though I got in late and left early and wasn't able to experience the local surroundings very much.
The hotel was overall great for my stopover coming from Southern Belgium/Luxembourg back to the Brussels region.

You stay here for the location, as it is the only major hotel on the river next to the small historic town and main bridge. It is within walking distance from the train station and they also have a parking lot if you are driving. There is a bar area with a small indoor seating area and a nice, large balcony with seating overlooking the river. Rooms themselves are very basic, which is why they are so inexpensive for such a good location. The room is modest sized with linoleum floors and a small rack with a couple clothes hangers. There is no refrigerator or coffee maker (or microwave, though European hotels seem to not offer microwaves). The room itself is the equivalent of a Motel 6 in the USA, but the lobby area is nicer. Bathroom is shower only (no bathtub) with a flexible hose for handholding. If the bathroom door is turned ninety degrees it fits into a second doorjamb that closes off the main room. Since there is no coffee maker, coffee and tea are available for free from the bar (or included in the low price for the modest breakfast). The only real negative was the ugly color of the room paint: dark green on one wall and light green/gray on the other wall, which is psychologically depressing. If they repainted the walls with beige and off-white it would make the room much more appealing. There is no beating the location, though, and it’s really the only option unless you rent a house or apartment.

A great stay

The Dinant ibis was a very convenient place to stop on a road trip. Parking was easy and plentiful. Check in was fast and friendly. The town and sites are 5-10 min walking however if you have a car I’d recommend driving to the citadel that overlooks the town. Breakfast was priced fairly with plenty of option for everyone. The room was clean and I appreciated the fully enclosed shower which is rare in Europe.

but I accidentally booked for the wrong dates while I was in dinant, they refused to do the refund. I called expedia, and they told me to make another booking for the correct dates and they shall get the refund. but this did not happen and it's utterly disappointing for such a high frequency user like me. I practically make all my bookings via Expedia, but this is a shame.

Great hotel well situated on the river bank. Close to centre of town,.really good breakfast. Lots of choice.. what I can’t see is why in the middle of summer the beds have winter weight duvets. When I asked about getting something more suitable it was suggested that I use the air on to control the temperature, this is wasteful and the whole point was what ever the temperature in the room the duvet would have been much to hot. So I had to sleep under the duvet cover which was just ok.

A basic, clean and comfortable hotel in an excellent location. A very pleasant walk along the river to the main attractions. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very nice hotel, room was lovely and very clean. We had a room overlooking the river. The air conditioning did not work, the room was very warm. We opened our windows for a while but it was a bit noisy with trains, cars and people. Luckily I had a small travel fan that helped. A very nice outdoor balcony to enjoy meals or evenings overlooking the river. All in all it was a good stay. A suggestion would be to put fans in the rooms for hot summer weather

Typical Ibis room, fantastic spot overlooking the river. The elevated terrace makes it. Staff really really friendly & helpful. Dinant is a lovely place to visit. Only stopped 1 night as heading back to the UK.
