Typical Ibis Hotel in a Central Location

You know what you're getting with an Ibis hotel - basic comfort at a reasonable price. This was no exception. The room was a little tired but clean with a comfortable bed and all basic amenities. Staff were friendly and helpful. As we visited on a Sunday we were able to park right outside for free. It was good value for money.

Perfect location to walk around Alençon

Perfect for one night stay on the way down to south of France to meet up with family. Great location and comfort. Free parking and free WiFi which are always our preferences. Very friendly staff and a nice cosy bar within for a nightcap after exploring an interesting town. comfortable bed and nice shower.

One night stopover on my way to Calais from biarritz, so too tired to reallycheck the place out. What i saw was good, only down side was no offstreet parking and French parking standards are poor, fortunately i was not hit this time.

Journey home.

Our stay was good. Check in good but the same guy served us in the bar and gave me very short measure of beer, which I was not happy about but he maintained it was correct. Is that worth losing customer for?
Check asked me to pay for the drink from the previous night, when we had paid cash at the bar! Then told me I owed local taxes, which I ought to have known about.
There was only one hand and one bath towel in the room.

Easy to find and parking outside

We chose Alençon as stop over on drive back from Île-de-France Re.
Friendly, helpful staff. Room quiet, clean and functional.
Town was almost deserted and most restaurants closed as everyone on holiday. We are at brasserie just along from the Ibis which was ok.
Breakfast excellent value.
We visited Saint-Ceneri, a beautiful, quaint little village just 20 minutes away before heading up to Calais .

Great budget hotel easy to find helpful staff

Easy to find this hotel en route to main holiday. Arrived late and met with smiling helpful staff. Lots of parking in street next to hotel (for charge but husband has disability so free). No air conditioning in room, fan but still quite stuffy. Plentiful breakfast with good coffee! Close to centre of Alençon- worth a look. Would recommend .

Good location for attractions and restaurants

hotel is in a good location in the centre of Alencon. Parking can be an issue but we managed to get a slot outside the hotel on this occasion. Rooms are small but comfortable. Hotel is in a good location to explore the town centre.Breakfast was good.

Fairly typical of an Ibis in France. Reception very helpful with good English speakers. Street parking outside but free between 5pm and 9am. May change, but at time of our visit a fantastic choice of whiskies in the bar. Short walk to town centre facilities.

DURING THE PREVIOUS 7 DAYS WE STAYED AT 3 OTHER HOTEL CHAINS, 1 IN FRANCE 2 IN ENGLAND, THE HOTELS IN ENGLAND WERE BETTER EQUIPPED AND COMFORTABLE, AND AT LEAST 20% CHEAPER. THIS HOTEL HAD VERY PLEASANT STAFF, PARKING NEARBY COULD BE A PROBLEM AND IS CHARGEABLE AFTER 9AM UNTIL 6PM. HOTEL SITUATED CLOSE TO ALL AMENITIES.

The staff were pleasant and informative. The bar, although a bit dated in decor was a friendly place to be with comfortable chairs. The breakfast was good with plenty of everything you would expect for a French breakfast. The rooms were comfortable and the shower excellent. I would have liked some conditioner and shampoo for my hair rather than a squirt of soap that was supposed to cover everything. It did not condition hair.

An overnight stop on our way home from the UK. The hotel is conveniently placed in the centre of Alencon with on street parking (payable) outside. The rooms are basic but comfortable (particularly the bed) and very clean - all that we needed for an overnight stop - and at a reasonable price. Breakfast is extra at 9.50 € per person and it was typical buffet of cereals, breads, etc but decent quality.

Overnight stop en route for south west France and the Ibis is an excellent place to stay - clean and comfortable and very quiet. Must have good sound proofing as there is very little noise from other guests. Would recommend the Ibis also because it is close to several restaurants and the centre of Alencon

Ibis hotels are usually reliable when it comes to good beds and cleanliness.breakfast could be more imaginative. Fruit compotes and freshly boiled eggs might be nice. Staff are very helpful on the whole wherever we stay at an Ibis.

A good Ibis Hotel . We didn't have to rush off the next day and the Breakfast ( petit ) was good and still on after ten . The street parking was fine outside the front of the hotel and was reasonably priced during the designated times .

Of course, with an Ibis hotel, you get what you pay for in terms of facilities - a fairly spartan room (though with a comfortable and extra-long bed) and few facilities, though a relatively cosy bar was welcome on a winter's night. Where this hotel scored over many more expensive hotels was the quality of the staff. Both receptionists that we spoke with could not have been more helpful, ringing around local restaurants on New Year's Day to try and find one that was open and, generally, making us feel particularly welcome. By virtue of its location and the welcome from the staff we will make a future stopover on our way back home from the south-west.

Comfortable overnight stop

It's an Ibis, so you don't expect huge rooms or the very lap of luxury, but we got a very well presented, large enough room with a very comfortable bed. Looks like it has been recently refurbished as everything looked new. Free parking on the square outside overnight and on Sundays.

Very nice hotel and great service

On my way to Brittany I was almost tempted not to stay at the hotel because of some of the reviews. However I am glad I did and what's more I booked it again for my return. The room (217) was great and the receptionists were very helpful. They don't do an evening meal but did suggest \"Chez Fano\" nearby. Sadly this was a disaster. Overpriced and shoeleather steaks. Try elsewhere is my advice.

In dire need of re furishment but friendly staff

We stayed over on our way back through France. The town is pretty but it was a Sunday and despite being peak season only one of about 15 restaurants/cafe s n town was open albeit only for a couple of hours so with two hungry children we had to drive out of town to mc Donald's! The hotel staff are very friendly and the beds in the room were very clean but the rooms were pretty awful artex walls no air con and quite cramped conditions with insufficient towels it was not a pleasant way to end our travels! I wish we had stayed in le mans in a better hotel

Un hôtel idéalement situé mais à un tarif qui ne correspond absolument plus à son niveau de prestation : les chambres sont à refaire de toute urgence, c’est très vieillot, et ce n’est pas un coup de peinture qui pourra arranger cela.
Salle d’eau très petite avec wc dedans, pas de porte sur la douche : il y en a partout après.
Sinon service très pro.
