We had hoped to Eat here but had been delayed several hours at the Channel Tunnel and as a result we ate earlier
as we knew the restaurant would be closed when we arrived. The breakfast was very good and having read the menu we hope to visit again on another trip. The view of the Etang from our room was nice. The room we had was comfortable and spacious.

We arrived at 3pm which was check in time and there was no one there we waited for an hour the hotel was completely closed up looking through windows tables had chairs put up on them like it had been closed for a while we looked completely around the premises there was no one on site and everything was locked up. we then had to drive and find another hotel for ourselves which was very upsetting I tried to contact Hotels.com but was not able to.

Perfect Place to stay for the A28/A88 Autoroutes

We first discovered this hotel through the now defunct French travel specialist VFB as this was included in their La Carte Hotels brochure. Beautiful setting by a lake and close to the A28/A88 autoroutes for access to the Channel Ports. Delicious French menu in the restaurant.

The grounds, the adjacent pond and the dining area look great, and the staff were friendly and helpful, but the room itself was not up to much - detached bed head, discoloured bathroom walls, discoloured grouting in shower , wardrobe that wobbled when opened - it all suggests a property that needs some love to return it to its former glory. To be fair it was competitively priced and in a convenient location.

Hotel with Character located by side of lake.

Our first time at this hotel and overall we were pleased. A lovely location, a characterful room and a good meal in the evening. we were welcomed on arrival and shown to our room. However, in our opinion the hotel let itself down a bit with the room as there was no plug in the basis, a half roll of toilet paper with no obvious spare, and no water glasses. We were slightly concerned at the prices of the various set menus (unfortunately no a-la-carte) but in the event they had a small menu that suited us just fine - it was also delicious. Would we go back? Yes, we would.

Great stay!

The woman who owns the property was lovely. She spoke both French and English. The restaurant was fantastic! Good choices and good price. The room was great and had a tub, which is unusual in France! Comfortable, good price and good people!

A wonderful find 6 years ago. Tranquil and peaceful with great gastronomique food served in a super dining room. Waiters are attentive and restaurant romantic but can cater easily for large family gatherings.

Between Le mans and Paris this is a great place to transit or jyst relax by the lake. Request bedrooms 5 or 6 as they have great views of the lake. Bedrooms are well equipped.

Beautiful setting, disappointing room and prices.

The hotel is in a beautiful setting and the exterior of the hotel is picturesque. Our room however was very disappointing; the decor is tired and the room was dark and a little gloomy. It was clean and completely functional- the tea and coffee facilities in the room were very welcome (and not common in France).
The restaurant was serving lovely food but was expensive compared to other restaurants we have dined in with equal quality. We weren’t made to feel welcome- that is perhaps the most important factor in our feeling dissatisfied and the hotel lacked warmth.

Nice hotel shame about the staff

Lovely looking hotel and room very nice. On arrival we were told 'your room is on the first floor' no offer of assistance etc. The general attitude was very offhand and unfriendly. The restaurant food was good, however, the restaurant lacked any atmosphere again due to the attitude of the proprietor who was the only person serving nine tables. The menu choice was large, but over 50 per cent was unavailable as it was a Tuesday!

Lakeside hotel with lovely dining experience

Lovely tranquil location ideal if you enjoy peace and quiet and are happy to drive to see other places. Proprieters very friendlyguving a relaxed atmosphere. The menus we felt were pricy we opted for a set menu which was excellent. A good stopover if you don't mms spending a bit more in dinner as the local area has few dining options nearby.
Excellent breakfast is an optional extra at 10 Euros
Lakeside location very pleasant.

The hotel is in a lovely spot - very quiet and a bit off the beaten track. Our room was large and the beds were comfortable but it really needed updating. We enjoyed our evening meal but skipped breakfast to get an early start.

WOW! What a location!

Perfect location with service to match! The restaurant is great and great value too with true French dining, even the basic menu is five course but you can choose the gourmand menu, the basic menu is only twenty two euros! This hotel is also dog friendly, perfect as we had our labrador with us. Don't just stay one night - treat yourselves!

Could do better, should do better.

Room 9 was fine of itself although the owner did not respect the price arranged via Hotels.com. Sadly, although the hotel is a Relais du Silence we could all too clearly hear the owner's family tramping about overhead through a very thin ceiling, late at night. Good internet connection.The restaurant has pretensions but the meal was lack lustre, for example a fish/gratin main course that tasted of little except excess salt, or the porc travers that was little more than lukewarm. Breakfast was entirely self service: an appearance by a staff member to make sure all was in order or even to say good morning would have been a very good idea at the price charged.

Well furnished and comfortable rooms in this of the beaten track hotel. Excellent restaurant, good breakfast and easy access from the motorway make this a good place to stop over when travelling through France.

Wonderful location and excellent cuisine

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for one night on our way from Dieppe to a gite in Brittany. The location was fantastic, on a beautiful lake in stunning French countryside, the staff were friendly and courteous and the food was of a very high standard. I have not eaten a better meal in many years and the complimentary bites made it six courses! The price was very reasonable for such quality cuisine. Breakfast was typically French with bread jams, ham cheeses, coffee juice etc. The hotel has beamed ceilings, we had a colour TV in our room, complimentary Wi-Fi, a Jacuzzi with coloured lights in it, home made liqueur as a welcome drink and a power shower with side jets Treat yourself and go an stay at Les Etangs de Guibert. We will definitely be going back. It is worth every penny (Euro cent?)

Well placed for an overnight stop.

We stopped one night here. The setting is very peaceful on the edge of a lake and the room was fairly large. The restaurant was beautiful but we would have preferred a simpler healthy menu option.

An excellent hotel for an overnight stay on your way to or from the South of France, or longer stay

The hotel is a few miles from the motorway , but well worth the short detour. The old farmhouse is out in the country, with its own lake, in a very peaceful and pleasant location. It has a large car park on the other side of the country lane. Our room was very good with views over the garden and lake, it was full of old world charm but with a very hi-tech en-suite bathroom. The restaurant was fabulous and we had a superb evening meal there, watch out for the salad and cheese board selection served between the main course and dessert.
We drove down from the midlands, took the 12:50 Eurotunnel and then drove down to Les Etangs, arriving about 6:30.
The hotel and restaurant are not cheap, but they are excellent value for money and well worth the extra euros.

Sehr ruhig gelegenes Hotel. Personal sehr freundlich. Hier macht die Chefin fast alles selbst. Zu unserer Überraschung hatte die Küche Sterne Niveau, obwohl das 3 Gänge Menü nur 26,50€ gekostet hat. Absoluter Geheimtipp.

Lieu extraordinaire. Au cœur de la nature, étangs, rivière, bruits de la cascade, oiseaux sauvages.
Maison charmante et très bien rénovée. Un hôtel de caractère avec un accueil chaleureux. Dîner du soir vraiment gastronomique. Petit-déjeuner généreux. Une vraie envie d'y retourner.

Déjà venu il y a quelques années, cuisine au top c'est un vrai régal. Serveur super sympa et au petit soins. Chambre a la déco ancienne mais ce qui fait aussi le charme du lieu. Petite liqueur de bienvenue a tomber par terre. Au calme avec une vue splendide. C'est mieux en été qu'en hiver.

Ls Etangs de Guibert : allez-y !!!

Le site est magnifique au bord des étangs de Guibert, il faisait un temps splendide, le restaurant (soir) est excellent et gastronomique, plats originaux, produits frais, l'ensemble était très agréable au palais. Le petit déjeuner est aussi excellent, bien garni et de qualité.
A noter que pour cause de COVID, la chambre n'a pas été faite de trois jours. Même si les serviettes supplémentaires ont été fournies promptement.
Séjour réussi et très agréable.
