Good Stay at Brive-la-Gaillarde

We arrived a bit early and they accommodated us. Parking was free and across the street from hotel. 5 minute walk from city Centre. Very nice and comfortable room. Only issue - it was getting warm and air conditioning was not available yet. Open balcony door and it was fine for evening.

A friendly welcome

We use this group of hotels for our European stopovers because we know that generally they are in a handy location, provide reasonable accommodation and the rooms are clean. This hotel was no exception: a short walk to the town centre, friendly reception, and clean bedroom. There was no secure parking but there is ample public parking across the road in front of the hotel. However, the receptionist was most helpful in allocating us a room with a small balcony overlooking the side of the hotel in front of which there were a few car parking spaces and where we parked our car. This was quite acceptable, but given a busier period it might have meant parking in the public area.

Handy location for the centre of town, easy to find and plenty of secure, gated parking which is handy when you're travelling back tot he UK and don't want to empty the car completely into the hotel. Large restaurant/bar area, friendly and very helpful staff. Room was standard for IBIS with a great shower :)

A comfy billet

We went to the Ibis as our preferred hotel was not available, and it does everything you need for a very reasonable price. There is ample parking opposite and the hotel is easy to access by car from the A20. The bed was comfortable and the shower excellent. It is an easy walk into town for restaurants and shopping, and there is good information available on local sites. The french TNT television amazingly reverted to showing some programmes in English, which we didn't set up, so if the hotel did that off their own bat, I am particularly impressed.

First visit to Brives - for a rugby match and I was alone so comfort and spatial needs were not so important. The rate for the hotel was excellent and I felt I got better value than what I actually paid for at the price. Staff were extremely helpful and courteous at all times. Would I go back again? Most definitely YES!

Bon séjour, mais accueil particulier

Arrivée vers 19h30, l’accueil était tenu par la même personne qui tenait le bar et le restaurant, donc la personne courrait un peu de partout. Un bug sur leur ordinateur a donné l’information comme quoi je n’avais pas encore payé la chambre donc on me l’a fait payer à nouveau… J’ai pu demander un remboursement, encore en attente de ce dernier. Et puis, lors de la réservation via le site, il était indiqué qu’il était possible de payer le petit déjeuner sur place. Lors de mon arrivée j’ai demandé s’il serait possible, il m’a répondu que normalement non mais vu le nombre de petit déjeuner, c’était tout de même possible. Le lendemain matin, vers 9:30, la personne a l’accueil a refusé car elle avait déjà commencé à ranger, alors que normalement l’heure limite était 10:30.
Déçue au niveau de l’accueil néanmoins, le reste de l’hôtel, les couloirs ou encore les chambres sont très bien. Propreté plus que correcte, literie très agréable, chambre très lumineuse.
De manière générale, plutôt satisfaite même si l’accueil n’est pas le meilleur.

Lamentable

La climatisation ne fonctionnait pas, l’écoute de l’accueil nous a fait croire à un pb ponctuel. Sauf que nos enfants avait une chambre dans une autre aile de l’hôtel avec le même problème. Et après avoir fait une recherche d’avis sur Google d’autres clients ont eu ce problème les jours précédents. Le mutisme des employés est consternant. Je ne parle même pas d’une sous vêtement retrouvé dans la salle de bain signe que le professionnalisme n’est pas au niveau dans cet établissement. Il ne devrait même pas être au niveau Ibis. Lamentable

Les employés de l'hôtel sont très accueillants et professionnels, cependant l'hôtel en lui même pêche sérieusement, il passe pour un trois étoiles et est assez coûteux pour une qualité qui laisse plus qu'à désirer.
La première chambre qui m'à été proposée, la porte était défoncée et ne fermait par correctement sur le couloir, donc niveau isolation sonore et intimité ce n'est pas optimal. La deuxième était censé être un surclassement, chambre plus grande, celle-ci était datée, et l'état général laisse à désirer, tâches sur les rideaux, poussière sur les aérations, lattes de parquet disjointes et parquet gondolé, baignoire mal entretenu, cache désaxé et moisissures sur les joints. Clairement pas au niveau d'un hôtel supposément de ce standing et à ces prix !

Dommage d'être informé que l'hôtel est en rénovation, une fois arrivé devant la porte de sa chambre ! Oui, c'est vraiment nécessaire. Le plus désagréable était la salle de bain en piteux état. D'autant que le ménage n'a pas été fait, alors que nous avons quitté notre chambre en présence de la personne en charge du ménage. Le \"reste\" était bien : petit déjeuner, accueil du personnel. Bref, beaucoup de déception pour un hôtel à l'enseigne Ibis. A éviter pour l'instant...

Hôtel dans son jus...d'avant.

L'accueil chaleureux de la réceptionniste n'aura pas donné le coup de frais qu'un hôtel du groupe Accor tel qu'Ibis mérite.
La chambre, faussement rénovée, à été peinte en gris à la va-vite pour ressembler aux standards actuels mais les finitions étaient très limites, les angles abîmés, aucune prise de courant vers les tables de chevet, lit fait sans être bordé ni les draps tendus, VMC poussiéreuse, fenêtre ne couvrant pas du tout les bruits de la route très passante située dessous, nous avons été réveillés à chaque camion, moto, ou moteur mal réglé.
La literie était en revanche confortable à notre goût.
Côté salle de bains j'ai été étonnée de ne trouver qu'une seule serviette par personne, pas même une serviette pour les mains au lavabo, le pare-douche n'était pas assez large pour protéger le sol et le lavabo vert d'au autre temps. Au matin chaque chambre s'eveillant (avant nous) à été l'occasion d'un nouveau réveil, l'insonorisation étant inexistante ou inutile.
La chambre est spacieuse, l'hôtel effectivement situé en centre-ville, mais nous dire que c'est un Ibis rénové est un peu exagéré... NB : je suis membre du Club Accor et voyage beaucoup depuis 30 ans, c'est donc l' avis pragmatique d'une habituée.

Je n'ai jamais vu un hotel aussi sale. Des toiles d'araignées énorment dans la chambre datant de plusieurs mois ou années étant donné la quantité de poussière cumulée sur celles-ci!! Je change de chambre, on me propose une chambre dite \"supérieure\" alors oui est elle grande mais les centaines de tâches moisissures (plus ou moins en reliefs) le sont tout autant! Et la poussière n'en parlons pas! Dans la salle de bain ce n'était pas mieux, toiles d'araignées et saletés aussi.
Sachez que les tâches blanches sur la photo sont des moisissures.

Les chambres sont correctes mais la dame de bains même mérite un rafraîchissement rapide ( peinture sur le carrelage qui part dans la douche, sèche cheveux au dessus des toilettes et non pas du miroir, pas très commode. Porte de la douche qui ne ferme pas de manière hermétique. Pas vraiment digne du nom ibis...

Accuril agréable mais chambre qui meriterait une sérieuse rénovation ( joints de douche noirs, meuble ébréché, clim bruyante et défectueuse, pas de prise dans la salle de bains ni à côté du lit). Par contre, hôtel bien situé, chambre propre et calme et très bon petit petit-déjeuner ( différents pains, viennoiseries, fruits frais et secs, cereales et également choix de salé). Neanmoins je ne reviendrai plus dans cet hôtel

Hôtel vétuste qui aurait besoin d’être rénové.Il est mal entretenu et sale (voir photo ) surtout les parties communes: vitres et plinthes.
Le personnel est très agréable et le buffet au petit déjeuner est excellent.
Arrivés un dimanche soir à Brive est d’une tritestesse, l’hôtel n’est pas dans le centre, il n’y a rien à faire.
