The room was FREEZING COLD. I called reception to ask for help, they would only offer a space heater and told me to go get it! The bed was full of hair from previous guest. Talked to the manager the morning after, no apologies just attitude. Disgusting, stay away

Great hotel, good location, very clean and easy to get to. Close to the train station and easy to drive to Broc for the Maison Cailler Swiss Chocolate Factory. Paid the 5 francs extra to park outside yet car registration wasn't requested.

No public transport over weekend - Beware!

The location of this hotel was the biggest issue. It has no public transport over the weekend so unless you drive or have light bags, you will need to walk to the train station (1-1.2km) - unless you take the taxi and pay 15 CHF.

Simple rooms, overpriced breakfast

The Ibis is a hotel where it is simple, clean, and reasonably priced. You can almost never go wrong st the Ibis for a basic stay.

We opted for the breakfast. At 16 CHF I would have expected a bit better options. We went at 9:00am and when we asked for eggs, we were told they were already gone…the breakfast lasts until 12. Even on the brochure in the hotel room it says ‘sleep is a priority and at breakfast you can eat greedily’. (Loosly quoted). With this statement, I would expect more eggs to have been served. You can eat cheaper at a local bakery.

The staff were otherwise very helpful and friendly.

Hotel caters well for an overnight stay. Good bar service and breakfast was sufficient. We were loaned power adapters which was very helpful. I requested a disabled room and was given an accessible bathroom with grab bars and walk in shower. The room itself had only just enough room for me to turn my mobility scooter around in. The threshold in the doorway of the room was too high for my mobility scooter to get over in and it was necessary to lift it over. This was an incredibly difficult task for someone with limited mobility. Good parking and access in the foyer.

They charge 5chf/day for parking although that isn't clear on the website. There's no reason to charge at all since the hotel is in a field and has a big empty parking lot. No outlets next to the bed which is really strange for a new hotel. We couldn't get the a/c to come on. We paid for breakfast since it isn't included and the food was very minimal. And finally, the hair dryer was a joke. When you add the cost of the room, parking, and breakfast, it's better to just pay more to stay somewhere else.

Overall good stay. No real food selection - minimal- frozen pizza,etc. nothing within walking distance. Town close enough drive to eat locally. Good one night stay. Beds comfortable and WiFi was good. Room and bathroom clean. The paying 5fr/nt for parking was kind of insulting. Huge empty parking lot available. Overall would recommend.

Reception terrible! Arrived late, barely acknowledged at reception but made to feel a royal pain as he could not find the booking we'd just made through an online agency. Tom 15 mins during which he barely spoke or looked at me. Another uk couple got the same treatment from another young chap on reception who came out to see to them!

Great spot for a short stay

The Ibis was easy to find, park at and check into. Customer service was polite and friendly and the hotel was very close to the two destinations we wanted to visit - Montreaux/Lake Geneva and Chateaux Gruyeres/The HR Giger Museum in Gruyeres.
The room was clean and standard but the beds in Europe drive me crazy so I feel I have to note that you will almost never get a 'double' bed - it's just 2 singles pushed together.

The hotel was close to the place of business that I was visiting. The room was minimalistic and functional. The TV had a wide variety of channels and language choices (including BBC 1 to 4, ITV 1 to 4, BBC World and CNN for English speakers). The hotel has a passable breakfast offering but very limited evening meal choice, this is not too much of a problem as Bulle as a number of good restaurants, As this was my first experience of an Ibis hotel there was only complimentary WiFi in the public area; which to me was an utter bind when using Skype or checking and sending emails.

Isolated, No Restaurant & WiFi Only In The Lobby

Just stayed one night whilst visiting Gruyere This is a new hotel with free parking but is away from everything and does not have a restaurant so you have to drive to a restaurant, order in pizza or use the vending machine. During check in they try and ell you a SF16/€15 breakfast (with no restaurant/kitchen!) which I refused. Also wifi only works in the lobby and not in the rooms.
OK for a one night stopover but wouldn't use it again when in the area.

Very welcoming on arrival - few staff but always on hand to help. Rooms basic but adequate and clean which is all we wanted. Bar food basic but nice, wine good and very reasonably priced.

New sparkly hotel, but you have to find it first!!

Brand spanking new - great for business traveller - rooms spotless - breakfast adequate but not a huge choice - biggest problem is it's sandwiched between a new housing estate and factories - half the roads are not even on most modern maps - try finding it in the pitch black at night - the hotel itself seems oblivious to printing its own maps - just saying \"the motorway is over there!\" It's as if they think everyone lives in Bulle and has figured out its network of new roads

Nice Hotel near small town

Hotel was nice, very clean. Building seemed pretty new. There was a private parking lot which was free. Breakfast was 15 CHF per person and included a buffet of a juices, breads, yogart, cereal, cheese, meat slices, apples, eggs etc. A bit expensive but the food was good. The hotel was about a 2 minute drive from downtown Bulle where there were some good restaurants.

The hotel has a lot of good things to boast: the location is very good, the balcony of our room opened up toward high peak mountains, the view was excellent in the mornings. Rooms are neat and clean. Breakfast spread is very good- although the service could be a bit more quick.

The hotel itself is quite good and new. Shower was great. Cons: more than 15 min walk from train station and no real restaurant for dinner so one needs to head to downtown Bulle. BTW there is no public transportation to hotel so be prepared to walk or rent a car.

The business place to stay

We stayed at this new property one of the nights of our 7 day Europe trip. It was the cleanest, best staffed, pleasant, property, as well as it was the most affordable. We paid twice as much for properties that were smaller, older, not as clean, and had staff that didn't care.This property is on the outskirts of town, quiet, but definitely worth the trip.

New, clean, very comfortable no frills hotel surrounded by farmland but only a 10 minute walk into the lovely old town of Bulle. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Been there twice now. The second time we brought 8 friends with us and they were also very pleased with the hotel.

No Frills, Great Value

Rooms lack amenities such as minibar and safe but are very comfortable. Nice large shower. New hotel surrounded by pasture but only 10 minute walk to center of Bulle. Generous parking spaces (free). Front desk personnel very helpful in making restaurant recommendations. Lovely terrace to sit and enjoy the view. Would suggest that, instead of the hotel buffet, you walk or drive into town and eat at a boulangerie/patisserie. Slightly cheaper and better assortment of pastries.

We didn't have Swiss power adaptors - manager said we would have to buy one from a vending machine for 15 Swiss Francs because he had already loaned the free ones to other guests.

New Gruyeres Hotel

This hotel is new as of June 2011, so it is in great condition. Only a few minutes from Gruyeres by car, this hotel was convenient although not immediately near town and the normal conveniences. Shower was large and had good volume. Only 2 towels in a double with no hand towel, so ask for an extra at the desk. Beds were comfortable but below the quality you get at nicer hotels. Breakfast was expensive per person, a grocery store run can provide all but the boiled egg for a third the price. Overall a good value compared to hotels in the area.

IBIS Bulle

This hotel is very NEW and thus may not have the exact address in a car navi system but still easy to find standing on it's own in the fields. This is a fabulour staging point to visit surrounding attractions, for us Montreux Jazz, Vevey and the Cailler Chocolate Factory. Bulle also has some nice restaurants. Hotel was spotless and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Views to surrounding Countryside are stunning.

Fue sólo una noche pero la verdad es que estuvimos a gusto. El autobús pasaba cada 30 minutos por la puerta y a 3 minutos en bus está la estación de tren. Muy bien. Cuco y acogedor.

Das Hotel ist einfach aber gut für einen kurzen Aufenthalt. Punktabzug weil das Zimmer sehr kalt war und wir es nicht heizen konnten, auch die Umstellung auf „Heizen“ und die Anpassung auf 30 Grad Celsius hat nichts genützt.

room is super bare bones but clean, there was a lot of noise at night from the street and parking lot at night so I kept being woken up by fireworks or people drag racing outside. . don’t keep your window cracked at all like i did. and you’re fine. it’s quiet if you don’t have the airflow. in addition parking is 8CHF a night which is not noted when you book and feels absurd when the whole parking lot is empty and huge. the pizza automat is fun and the pizza is surprisingly good
