Loved this hotel. Comfortable, clean rooms in the heart of a beautiful french town. The staff and facilities are really good. The breakfast was lovely.

On entering our room, one of the curtains was hanging off the runner. We booked a family room with a queen bed to sleep 4.When I made the reservation I made it quite clear it was for 3 adults and the booking was accepted.
However, they brought in a cot (fold up bed) being the third bed which when my son sat on, collapsed. There were slats missing. When reported to reception was told it was for a child. They knew we had a party of 3 adults and charged a supplement of 15 euros night for the third person, even though I paid for a family room. I asked them to separate the queen bed and with the single bed gave us the number of beds we needed, and booked for. We were up in the eaves, the carpet needed cleaning, no smoke alarm in the room, no fan or window in the bathroom. Only two sets of towels and repeatedly had to ask for the third set. Then to cap it all after paying the bill received a message that they had debited a further amount on my friends card, who did not give authority to do so. I had to give card details when I booked. I paid my bill with cash. The message said there was a problem with my bill, not that they had made an error.

Hotel was situated at the edge of town, so perfect location, reception staff very helpful, bed was comfy, rooms looking abit tired but ok for price, no secure parking at hotel, but free public parking near-by..we did not use the restaurant, but was very busy so presumably it is good

Short stay in Bagnoles-de-l'Orne

Our stay was at the Hôtel Ô Gayot was very enjoyable and relaxing, the rooms are comfortable but basic. Food and service was very good and all the staff were very friendly even during this difficult time we felt very welcomed.

COMFORTABLE HOTEL NEAR THE TOWN CENTRE

I recently stayed at O Gayot for the second time in 3 months. Once again, I was staying here on a Thursday night when the restaurant is closed and reception closes at 17.00hrs. La patronne was good enough to phone me one week in advance of my stay, to inform me of the above.

My room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The king size bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean everything was in order. I did find the over bath mixer tap for the shower, very difficult to operate. It was of an unusual design and some instructions would have helped.

I would recommend the O Gayot to anyone looking for a pleasant hotel in Bagnoles-de-l'Orne.

Typical French hotel in lovely spa town

We arrived about 5pm on Bastille day having driven from Caen WE had a lovely meal at the hotel and then walked down to the lake for the firework show. There were hundreds of people eating on the pavement cafes and a wonderful atmosphere.

A must

What a great hotel. Just a few hundred metres from the town centre . A very quirky hotel but in a great way . There is a shop attatched to the bar , and the bar looks like a beach hut ! . The rooms are very well decorated and spotlessly clean . The actual town is a treasure . A great stop over location with plenty of bars and restaurants . We would Definatly stay there again.

Although situated at the top of town we were very much impressed with the Hotel, our room had its own spacious balcony, and the bathroom was very modern and clean.dinner at the hotels restaurant was first class with excellent food and service, the bar area was of a art deco style and made for a very relaxing evening. we travelled by motorbike and the staff were very helpful to give us a safe area to park off of the main road, overall we were really impressed and would not hesitate to stay here again in this must see area of France

Excellent Stop Over in Normandy

We used this Hotel as a stop over on the way back from the Lot region. A great little hotel in a wonderful little town. I cannot recommend this highly enough. Our room (2 adults and 2 teenage children) overlooked the main street but we all got a great nights sleep in comfortable beds. The surrounding town is full of restaurants. We enjoyed a drink overlooking the lake by the casino late afternoon and ate in a local restaurant where the food and wine was first class. Its definitely worth going back and extending our stay next time.

Best small hotel in SW Normandy????

We've stayed here before so we knew what to expect. Still as good as ever and great value for money. Food is exceptional. Only downside is lack of car park, but public parking very adjacent. Also Bagnoles is a lovely spot.

We were really suprised when we drove into the town. It was beautiful. The hotel was really convenient and even though it is on the main road the double glazing was perfect. There was no noise at all. The breakfast was fabulous. Everything you could wish to eat. The staff were courteous and very helpful. The evening meal was amazing, gourmet standard and very reasonably priced. The room was a good size, not pokey and the bathroom had a back with shower attachment which was good. Also it was a good size. All in all we had a good stay and would go back there any time.

Séjour rapide à l’hôtel ( 1 nuit ). Très bon accueil, personnel aimable.
Petit déjeuner parfait.
Petit bémol sur l’emplacement de notre chambre ( numéro 7 ), elle se trouvait juste au dessus de la porte d’entrée de l’hôtel.
À chaque fois que les clients sortaient du restaurant, la porte claquait et faisait énormément de bruit.

Très bel hôtel avec beaucoup de charme

Très bel hôtel, bien placé avec son restaurant. Notre chambre était spacieuse et confortable. Les enfants ont également apprécié.
Nous avions une des chambres au-dessus du restaurant. Même si le bruit est atténué, cela reste bruyant.
Il n'y a pas de parking à l'hôtel. Il est donc nécessaire de se garer dans la rue. Nous avons trouvé des places sans problème à proximité et la ville est sûre.
Excellent accueil, nous reviendrons très certainement si de nouveau dans la région.

Vi havde 1 overnatning og var heldig at få bord i restauranten. Vi spiste ude i hyggelige omgivelser og maden var udmærket.
Morgenmaden var også fin og super betjening overalt på hotellet.
Vi parkerede lige rundt om hjørnet på en offentlig gratis parkering.
Vi anbefaler hotellet.

Clean hotel but the room we stayed in was dated in its decoration. The sink was also very high and you could hear other plumbing noises from other rooms. The hotel was very busy. We had drinks on the terrace and in the bar . We ate breakfast within the allocated time but there were no croissants left and the charcuterie was slow in being replenished. Not a great deal of choice for breakfast. However the staff were friendly and helpful
