I was staying at your UK Peterborough hotel.

I'm sorry but I've paid a lot of money to have work carried outside my door when I was working. I know maintenance has to happen but when I asked if they could come another time I was rudely greatest. Everything else was fine and stay was ok after that bit for the whole afternoon yesterday it was appalling.

The staff were all friendly and efficient.
The room was cold on arrival but warmed up once we turned the radiator on. However, in the morning the radiator was cold and would not warm up. The hot air system took the chill off the room.
Parking was easy, and service when dining in the restaurant was very good. It was quiet, and we had a good nights sleep.

A man staying in the room next door forced open a connecting door and entered my room at 1am causing me severe shock and upset and 9 hours after checking out I have still not been refunded or had any further contact at all from the hotel about compensation. Do not stay here.

A nice spacious hotel, staff were friendly and polite. A great breakfast with plenty of options. Only thing that I was disappointed with was the lack of Disabled parking bays near the entrance to the reception area. I noticed only 1 car displayed a blue badge in the disabled bays so this wasn't being monitored.

Starring to need some TLC.

Second time I visited. First was very comfortable but this time I was put in a room that was pretty noisy at the front. No double glazing and gaps in the windows meant I felt a draft all night. The air con did not work to warm up. I won’t be visiting again. For the price, it lacks the comfort of 4 star and the value for money.

Thank you for giving me an early check-in and the first girl on reception was friendly. The pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were fabulous, as was the guy working there. Unfortunately the bed was really uncomfortable, I’d upgraded to a king as a treat and it was clearly 2 single beds clipped together with very different firmness. Also, I went down to breakfast quite last minute, but still within the time, and got a really rude “welcome” from the man on duty he raised his eyebrows, rolled his eyes tapped his watch and said “breakfast is over” with zero humour, which is especially unnecessary as it’s a buffet set up and a self service coffee machine, so I was serving myself and not asking for extras. And then the staff were loudly clearing up around those of us finishing our breakfast which was poor, we are still paying guests after all! Also there was mould on the toasting bread. I also didn’t receive the request for feedback until some 5 hours after I’d checked out and you asked me to please give it before checking out?!

The room was well sized and felt comfy. However, although clean it needed some TLC. There were a few, what looked like cig burns, in the net curtains, dirty marks on base of bed and paint missing on base of bathroom door. The coffee sachets provided were mostly solid; so suggest housekeeping needs a rejuve. On plus side reception was very friendly and polite and the breakfast had a wide range and variety of hot and cold options plus the breakfast service staff member was attentive keeping the stock refreshed and tables clean - worth the money.
Cannot comment on grounds, although parking charge has been lowered from £15 to £5 per night this reduction had not been mentioned in the welcome email
Overall: For the price it was a good place to stay. I was little annoyed that the parking charges were not shown in the daily cost of booking/staying as it seemed like a hidden charge - and alternative parking is not really viable within the area particularly as my wife is disabled

Overall the stay was good, we had some hic-ups in terms of there being issues with the systems on arrival and we had some disturbances during the evening from noise. The services and the facilities were all very good, clean and well staffed. Would stay here again.

Staff was great and very helpful, friendly and professional. The breakfast was a good spread. I struggled with not having a fridge in one of the two rooms I booked. It was not very clear when I booked the room that it would not have a fridge. The staff helpfully explained that these rooms are reserved for diamond members and only if they are available. Perhaps Holiday Inn can rethink the policy or Expedia can make it clearer on the site if a fridge is available or not. Asides from this inconvenience, I loved staying here and will cravenly return..

The hotel has a really good feel; tidy, well laid out, and perfectly located for everything we needed. We’ll definitely be back!

Additional parking charges, height barriers if your in a van high sided vehicle.

Room clean but showing signs of wear and tear, my shower was dripping all the time and lacked any pressure. Needs improvement!
No water bottles in room, just tap water, just clipper tea didn't have coffee? No biscuits. Needs improvement for the price your paying.
Food average to ok! Similar buffet for the two nights so didn't have food second night and went out. Food cost around £30 with a drink for solo person, no desert included in the buffet.
Breakfast is decent with options.
Hotel is pricey for what it is now with a average night costing you £150 easily.
I expect better for the price

Our room was very clean. Check in was very smooth. You have to register your vehicle at check in to get parking. I myself am coeliac ,and the staff in the resteraunt were absolutely brilliant. They went out of there way to give me all my gluten free food for breakfast. Will definitely be staying there when I need somewhere to stay in that area .

When booking the hotel, i made contact with the property to ensure i had booked an accessible room, which was confirmed that i did.

I received several emails prior to arrival \"offering room upgrade\" for further payment. However, upon check in i was not allocated an accessible room, reception staff were too busy trying to recruit me to their rewards program, and collect parking charge of £15.00 per night, which was not mentioned when i booked, or in the many emails to upgrade my room i received.

Thankfully my arthritis was not too bad, so climbing into the bath for daily showers was not an issue on this occasion, and because this trip was to undertake family get togethers across the weekend, i did not cause a fuss.

There was major roadworks on going outside of the hotel, which restricted access and egress routes to the property. None of this was communicated either. Thankfully family alerted me to this issue, and because i visit the area frequently, i knew the diversion i needed to make. This was not mentioned by the property ahead of my arrival.

Upon checking out, the reception staff did not even engage in a conversation to ask how my stay was.

I have previously stayed at this property some time ago, (prior to parking charges being in place), but this recent experience will not encourage me to rush back.

We planned an impromptu 1 night stay on friday 28th March.

Hotel was arrival was eventful as the access road is closed and thr diversion signs are completely wrong, taking you back into the centre of Peterborough.
Once we ignored these the hotel was welcoming although the carpark signs indicate there will be a charge - which thrte was not.

Our room was clean and well appointed, however appeared a little tired. The bath drain was slow as it was blocked with hair. There is a noisy extraction fan in the bathroom that could not be turned off. Very limited milks in the tea and coffee (two) so i had to go to reception to ask for more. No biscuits were provided.

Walking from the hotel is not recommended due to the lack of street lighting.

Breakfast was probably the best i have ever tasted. Poached eggs (perfectly cooked) were excellent. The porridge was water based - not recommended

The worst part of the morning was when we visited the health spar. There were 4 other guests in the pool who felt they were intitled to prevent anyone else from using the facilities. They complained we had not showered before entering 'their' pool. We had showered in our room. My hair was still wet when i entered. I was physically assaulted as i swam and my wife was verbally insulted and told that the pool was full and she should leave. We complained to health spar management who indicated they would 'have a word' - not aware of what happened

Overall experience spoiled a good weekend.

Good service overall and room was clean.
Restaurant on site with a decent selection of options.
Good choice at the bar but a little pricey.
But £15 a night for parking? For well outside the city centre thats a little steep.
Unfortunately the heating control in the room was broken, so it was constantly hot, I couldnt open the window due to the noise, and the aircon was switched off centrally, so that wasnt great.
Aside from the room, the hotel was a little tired in places with heavily stained sofas and chairs, and little things that need fixing. Perhaps this was due to take place as the pool and spa facilities had shut for cleaning and maintenance leaving only the gym open.
So overall average, but for the price charged for the room? Poor.

Not worth the money

Have stayed in many holiday inns which have always been comfortable. This on the face if it was no different. However the window in the room was a singlepane sliding window in a metal frame which provided very little insulation. In the morning the window had condensation.
dripping off it soaking the net curtains. Found the beds to be hard and pillows both soft and firm to be uncomfortable.
Was reporterld to management who made the right noises but thats all. Stayed 1 night but will not be staying again. For the £140 for 1x night we expected better.
Food and staff were ok though and rest of hotel clean and comfortable

The hotel was welcoming with Christmas decorations. There was a pool, gym, sauna and steam room. Sea bass for dinner. I told them the room was too hot and I couldn’t turn the radiator down. Next day radiator was off and there was a big fan in my room!

A very good value place to stay if you need to spend time in Peterborough.

Horrendous Stay...Avoid

Hotel requires modernising. The room i was given was supposed to have a king siz bed. This was made up of 2 x single beds pushed together, with one slightly higher than then other, and you could feel the join. I may as well hae booked a single bed. The lamp didnt work so i was unable to work at the desk late on. The tv only had freeview channels and some if these did not work. The channels that did work had poor signal and kept going off. The toilet flush had to be manually brought back up and there was a dripping noise in the corner of the room. The evening special was a mexican buffet, which was not fit for eating. Many customers complained about the quality. Breakfast time, i had to pick through bowls as they has dried food on them. The milk provided for cereal was warm. Horrendous stay, and would not recommend.

We were not thrilled to learn of the unnecessary parking charge expected of guests for leaving a vehicle overnight. Anyone else, yes, but not paying guests.
A member of bar staff was extremely slow and made the worse tasting hot chocolate but i was already in my room before realising how horrible it was.
Reception staff were lovely and polite and very accommodating for my excessive tea drinking. The noise from roof fans outside our window was loud.

There weren't any spare pillows in the room just duvets.

The parking charge is seriously making us reconsider returning for our annual trip to this hotel.

Hotel good and room ok. Staff friendly and welcoming. Took exception to £15 per night parking. Yes the Hotels.com website said parking available but only learnt it was £15 per night from email day before arrival.
Most hotels round the country I stay in don’t charge but never encountered such a high charge. Basically a hidden extra on the room rate. I won’t be staying here again as there are other hotels around Peterborough I
could use.

I had to walk 15 minutes from the bus but the area is so beautiful and peaceful I didn't mind. Staff very polite and helpful. Rooms and public areas clean. In general I love this place and if I'll be again in Peterborough I will certainly book a room here again.

The staff truly make you feel welcome. The reception staff, housekeeping and restaurant personnel were all very pleasant and genuinely seemed interested to ensure our stay was memorable. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The shower pressure wasn’t the best but adequate. The buffet breakfast was excellent and requesting vegetarian sausages was no problem and supplied in no time. However I was not a fan of the overnight parking charge for residing guests. I was equally disappointed the steam room was not in use during our stay.

Really nice place but my room had twin beds when it should of been a king, that room someone hadn’t flushed the toilet which was a bit rank, the room we moved to had a king size bed but the bath was really dirty, the toilet roll holder was falling off and the room was near the generator or ac unit on the roof so was a humming noise. It’s a nice place and the service was great but these things means I can’t say it was a 10/10 stay, the dinner was expensive and pretty poor too tbh.

Fab Holiday Inn.

Fabulous, great vibes all round. Nice space, booked premium room and was perfect, quiet, near spa, overlooking car park and grass rather than road.
Dinner was great and breakfast not bad and all for £101 (plus £40 quick dinner for 3, child free)
Bed was at least a king size and comfortable, not too hard.
Bit warm ONLY complaint and once pulled duvet out of cover a bit had that sorted too.
Great hot water.
For the money was really exceptional value.

Great location. Very quiet and relaxing. The hotel was busy the weekend we booked as a wedding occurred, however it didn’t affect the stay and despite a busy than usual reception area it was still very quiet throughout and all the bookable options were still available.
Breakfast was nice, some items missing but restocked halfway though so we didn’t miss out. Very happy.

The shower wasnt so great but the rest of the hotel and stay was wonderful.

Convenient hotel close to Peterborough centre

Despite a large function going on we had a nice meal in the restaurant. Bar drinks were very expensive (£25 for two doubles and mixers). Service was very good - room was comfortable. Shower wasn’t very powerful but was hot. Health club usage was a bonus with a decent pool and gym. Great value for money overall.
