We stayed for 8 days so a much longer stay than usual.
The staff are lovely including Reception, housekeeping and breakfast room. We had a lovely room at the end of the corridor so we were rarely disturbed.
Enjoyed the breakfast done to order. The car park can be tricky as there aren’t a long of spaces but the overflow suits us fine too.
Environmentally, we bring our own toiletries so do not use the complimentary packs apart from a bar of soap. Towels replaced daily so it would be good to know where to keep towels if you don’t want them replaced.

The staff were so welcoming and they could not do enough for you, from the receptionists, the restaurant staff and the room service staff.
Lovely, comfortable rooms and plenty of areas to sit and read the complimentary newspapers and library books.
The parking pass for a nearby car park was very helpful when we could not park in the hotel’s underground car park.

The room, bed, staff, breakfast, location, were all satisfactory. We had a good 1 night stay, and slept well. The resident laundry room was in a poor state, with the washer & dryer full of towels, and the room was unkempt, full of towels everywhere, including on the floor. The dryer filter was overflowing with lint. We would have liked to use the laundry facilities, but could not in the state it was in. Enjoyed the breakfast and the breakfast service was courteous and efficient. Breakfast options were very good, which included hot and continental choices. It was very nice that we could have breakfast before 7:30am, which is not usual in most areas.

The location was great. We had a beautiful view of the river from our room and everything we needed to get to was walking distance from the hotel.

The staff was friendly and when my cab never showed up, the staff at thw fromt desk helped me secure another cab so we could get to my brother's wedding venue.

Right inthe town bang in.a bit old fashioned in decor and facilities.could do with modern uplift.
Breakfast menu not great.no help yourself buffets for food or drinks all has to be ordered from a menu.no room service or fridge in the room I stayed,and the double bed was two singles together which wasn’t great either.the carp park was a really tight squeeze to park and flooded when I stayed there.when it had rained.its ok to stay here it is what it is,perfect for ballina town,but for me a bit more of an upgrade needed on hotel interior and bathroom toiletries.looking past all that.it suited my needs and this just my opinion on my stay.

If you need to stay in the center of Ballina.. this is your hotel...walkable from the train station.
Staff are so friendly,helpful and professional.Check in was easy. Rooms are clean and cozy. The only thing I would say is that there is no Air-conditioning so room was warm.
Breakfast included was excellent offering a true Irish Breakfast
Overall, i world highly recommend this Hotel to anyone.

This is not a 4* hotel. Instead, it’s an adequate 3* hotel with pleasant staff and good river views. Rooms are beige and in need of updating.

Rude bar staff were unable to produce a hot drink on the grounds that “all the machines have been turned off” - not even vaguely acceptable.

Overall, it’s ok if you’re expecting a 3* product.

The handles on the doors In the public areas need a very good polishing. I have stayed many times at that hotel and the door handles in the public areas ie the bedrooms quarters’ fire doors have never been cleaned.

Badly managed hotel . Food poor. Brackfast not freshly cooked, reheated.
Hotel damp and wallpaper coming off wall in places. Room not cleaned properly. Dirty coffe cup. Under ground parking limited and poorly marked. This Hotel is meant to be four star .No way I would give it two .star.

Really good lunch on Monday, lovely black haired waitress/supervisor was really so good, friendly and efficient. She deserves a pay rise 😁

Internet service was very poor and unreliable. Although location of hotel was good, the rooms, halls and other facilities are very old and aging. Need major work! The location is perfect but the parking is very limited and I would image a real problem during busy periods. Room was lovely, had to clean our room ourselves, towels were left outside the door, had to ask for toilet roll as none was left outside door and no bed was changed as they said this was due to covid restrictions.Breakfast was lovely but no choice of cereal fruit or any buffet was provided before the cooked breakfast. Basic menu at dinner and very overpriced and when my husband sent back his steak as it was so tough, three different waiters came out to offer him some other meat option off the menu as the chef allegedly stated he was getting the same steak again, so very unprofessional and very badly dealt with my husband asked for steak and didn’t get it so he left the dinner table as he was disgusted with the whole outcome.The waiting staff need to be trained in as tea or coffee would come out with no milk or basic cutlery was missing off the table,and you had to ask also for butter as toast would come out and no butter on the table at times.

Very polite and helpful staff and food was amazing but service was slow. Maybe it was just down to managing guest due to Covid-19 restrictions. The staff were mostly college aged kids and we didnt see anyone senior managing things. Our room was too hot with underfloor heating that didnt seem to have an off switch but reception supplied us with a fan.

But parking quite a bit away, we arrived in rain & had done the block 3 times & checked out the handful of spaces that were all gone in the underground car park belonging to the apartment block attached. Breakfast room beautifully bright & overlooking the river. Builders hotel from the Celtic tiger, a bit hidgley pickledy inside. Rooms big & spacious.

I did not complain as it was just one night and with Covid I knew they only had a third of their rooms at any given time.

I’m sure it’s usually a fine hotel. Unfortunately we were given a room on the road side where there was loud road work starting at 0600. That would only be acceptable if there were no other rooms available on the other side of the hallway. Or they should have given us the opportunity to book elsewhere.
