What stood out was the kindness of the staff. I arrived 5 hours before check-in. The desk clerk suggested I do a little sightseeing around the area. But I was exhausted from traveling so I laid on a tile bench. After a few minutes, the clerk told me that the manager, a Vietnamese American, had given permission for me go to my room immediately.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The location is fantastic — the surrounding area has everything you need, from all kinds of food and drink options to convenient markets.

The room itself is dated but very clean and spacious. It comes with a fridge and a small seating area, which made the stay more comfortable. The common space is relaxing and a nice spot to unwind.

The gentleman at the front desk is always there, friendly, and ready to help. You can always find an answer when you need one, and having someone consistently at the front is reassuring. During the rainy season, he even offered me an umbrella before I had the chance to ask — truly great customer service.

I was assigned a room farther away from the front, so I didn’t hear any street noise — a big plus if you’re a light sleeper.

Overall, a great value stay in a super convenient location.

I recently stayed at Minh Chau Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and was thoroughly impressed! The hotel offers great value for money with clean, comfortable rooms and friendly, helpful staff who made my stay enjoyable.

One of the biggest advantages is its prime location—just a short distance from Saigon Railway Station, making it incredibly convenient for travelers catching a train. Additionally, it’s easily accessible from Tan Son Nhat International Airport, which was a huge plus for me as I arrived late at night.

The surrounding area has plenty of local eateries, shops, and attractions, so you’re never far from the action. Despite being in a lively area, the hotel itself was quiet and relaxing.

I highly recommend Minh Chau Hotel for both business and leisure travelers looking for a comfortable, well-located stay in Ho Chi Minh City. I’ll definitely be back on my next trip!

Room was very clean. Shampoo, body wash and toothbrush provided. A bath mat and Hand towel would have been useful. Bottle water is available for purchase at reception I believe. Tv, fridge, aircon amc fan. Has an elevator. Hotel arranged for motorbike rental 150k a day delivered and picked up from Hotel. Parking is inside the hotel gates.

Totally satisfactory. I am fastidious about cleanliness and I was satisfied with the room, which was very clean. No unusual odors or any other red flags. A/C was strong. The staff was very servicial and friendly . Upstairs on the fourth floor they have a breakfast area where they can make American style breakfast (fried eggs and coffee). And they can book a taxi or Uber-type car service to take you to the airport or wherever. Definitely would stay here again.

Nice location, excellent staff, disappointing room

Staff were absolutely fantastic and couldn't rate them higher!!!!!
Bed and pillows uncomfortable, glass door only to bathroom meaning little toilet privacy.
Rooftop restaurant very pretty but mostly abandoned and the one time we ate there the food was terrible. Also the restaurant is only open 9am to 5pm which was inconvenient (not that I'd eat there again).
Overall OK. Staff very helpful though.

We had a pleasant stay at this family run hotel.

The service was very friendly.

It is located about 15 minutes (by taxi) out of the main tourist area which is what we wanted.
We enjoyed our experience here as it was more typically Vietnamese than the general tourist experience of other districts. If this is what you also want to try then this may also be the hotel for you.

I think it is true to it's star rating - some rooms could do with a coat of paint!

Most restaurants/eateries are Vietnamese, however, there is a restaurant set in a garden atmosphere very close by (called Sorentos, I think). Here you can get a beer and a mix of Western & Vietnamese food. The eating areas are both outside and indoors (AC).

Amazing hotel in Saigon

I was at the end of 3 and a half months of traveling when i arrived in Saigon, I intended to spend 4 days in Saigon and and use the last 8 days to check out Hanoi and other parts. I booked Minh Chau Hotel because the price was so good.
It's not in the main back packer area which you may think is a negative but is actually the best thing in the world. It costs a couple of dollars in a taxi to get to where all the parties and madness are but it so great being able to leave all that at the end of the night and go back to such a nice place.
The staff are so great, very personable, i decided after meeting them that i would see out the end of my trip here and catch Hanoi another time.
Great coffee shop across the road from the Hotel, you'll have a great time!

A Fine Stay

I had a very nice stay here. I arrived quite late and needed to wake the receptionist to check in. He was cheery and pleasant even though I had awakened him. My room was comfortable and clean.
The hotel itself is a close walk to a convenience store, a long walk to the highlights of the city, or a 10 minute ride via taxi. Pretty convenient if you ask me. Minh Chau Hotel is a good choice for a comfortable, affordable stay.

Location primary for local NOT good for traveler. I booked here because it close to my friend home. If you are new to SG then you have to stay near Ben Thanh district where you can walk and see the city in a snap shot. With the same price in Ben Thanh area. This location only good for me to close to family house, otherwise you get lost around here. Facility need upgrade, if you book here, certainly away from other interesting areas then you have to use taxi to get there. Not a value \"Motel\" overall. I hope other travelers aware of the location issue, this would make your exploration limited in compare with Ben Thanh district while you can book many \"Hotels\" which also included breakfast with the price you pay at this location is without the breakfast. As a travel agent point of view, this not meet standard for my clients.

Here was a good hotel,but a little change happened

The room is very clean and the staffs are so friendly. There is a beautiful restaurant with green plants on the top roof. The location is very silent at night. A local market near here and a convenience store is nearly.

However, there are no hair dryer, electric water boiler, free water, tea, coffee, cups and bath big towel insides the room. Their Wi-Fi speed is very slow and not easy to connect. The TV is a traditional big type with very bad signal instead of LCD.

Here was a good hotel, but It change a new boss on 2016-01. It seems that he or she doesn’t maintain here like before.

We stayed a total of six nights in this hotel, four when we arrived in Vietnam and then we booked for another two nights when we returned to Saigon. It is clean and comfortable with airy, spacious rooms and good air conditioning (a must in HCMC), plus a fridge. What really sets this place apart from other budget hotels is Holly and the rest of the staff, who are extremely helpful and do their best to ensure you enjoy your stay. While there are no tea or coffee making facilities, we asked for a kettle and bought our own supplies from the convenience store (there are two within 50m of the hotel), where you can also buy beer. The towels are a bit thin, but very clean, and you may want to purchase a big bar of soap (those supplied are very small, and ours fell down the plug hole!), but these are very minor things to us.While the hotel is about a 30-40 minute walk ($5 cab ride) from the main tourist area, we loved the location, as we felt it was a more genuine HCMC experience. We enjoyed walking down the alleyways and meeting the local people. Do try the local eateries and street stalls (no, we didn't get sick), and there are two good barbecue restaurants in the street. If you can't understand the menu, just point at something in the window or at someone else plate. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and thought it was great value for money.

I was amazed by this hotel. E staffs there are very accommodating and willing to go all e ways to help in whatever they can and never will they compromise guest safety in any way (I order food delivery and they called me to verified beforehand, unlike some hotels they just allow them in) , location is good and accessible to everywhere I want to go and it's tucked away in a cozy corner near to the main road but far from e noise.

Friendly and welcoming. We arranged a tour to Cu Chi tunnels which was great as fantastic tour guide Frank, made the trip very memorable and enjoyable.
Room was clean. Rooftop Restaurant had a limited menu as we were only guests there, but tasty food, and a great place to watch the lightening show. A bit of a way out of town, but walkable or 60 000 d taxi. Easy for the airport.

A decent hotel with pretty good rooms. The bed was comfortable and the staff helpful, though not as eager to please as other places in the country. You get good value for your money, as it is quite reasonably priced for an actual hotel in the city. While there is plenty of street food around for both breakfast and dinner option, note that the hotel is nowhere near any of the tourist sights in the city, and you will either have to walk more than 30 mins or take a taxi to the city centre.

Booked this hotel for 10 nights, it was the second time staying here since it was close to family. Total disappointment, there was cockroaches in the bathroom on 3 separate occasions, need more lighting in room as well as bathroom, spots on bath towel, traveling with 2 young children and I had to carry all luggages by stair since there is no elavator to 1st floor.

I very happy to have found this hotel on my way back from a motobike cruise around the southern parts of Vietnam. After traveling 200km on the bike on the day I arrived, I was rejuvenated when I got to my room and took a shower and a nap. The room very large and super clean. The bathroom is equally nice. The bed was very comfortable. What more can you ask for? The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooftop restaurant is tranquil. I extended my stay here another night. I highly recommend. An oasis from the hectic city just outside of the hotel.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights. The staff was so friendly, the room was clean and air conditioned well. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and on the rooftop with a cool view! Not in an area that felt as touristy which we prefer. But you can easily get a taxi to the city center in 10 minutes or less. We just walked. Thanks Minh Chau! We would defintiely return.

We were only here one night and it was good for the price we paid. It's a little ways out from most of the attractions but that's partly why we liked it. Lots of food options around and it's easy and inexpensive to catch a cab where you want to go. You could walk if you have the time and energy! They kept our bags for us the entire day after we checked out and let us use the washroom and gave us towels so we could clean up before heading to the airport. This didn't bother the person I was with, but there was an overwhelming smell of some kind of cleaning supply or something and we had to get the window open and air the place out for about 30 minutes before I could be in the room...but I guess at least it was clean :)

We booked a Studio suite, and this was very comfortable for 2 people. The kitchen wasn't stocked but given you're in Saigon that is not a negative with food being so cheap. Due for a small face lift and only window look into inner stairwell and courtyard. TV reception is still analog lots of static Wifi is excellent.

Staff are excellent to deal with and I can recommend asking them any questions you might have they always tried to assist as best they could.

Rooftop restaurant was great as an option but wasn't very busy due to hotel patronage at the time. They do room service.

Located in north we actually caught the local bus number 65 to the centre most mornings then taxi back at night. Buses are very easy to catch and you pay on board with trips about 4000-6000dong. Its 15-20 minute walk to Ga Saigon (main train station) or easy taxi ride.

They booked us the Cu Chi tunnels and temple full day bus tour. This was a worthwhile trip but be prepared to taxi into District 1 early in the morning to meet the bus tour then return around 7pm. Most of the trip is spent on the bus traveling to and between sites and then return trip to Saigon. They can probably book train tickets with a small fee on top as well.

This is a pleasant hotel with friendly staff that is far enough off the main drag to be quiet but not too far from the airport and within walking distance of District One, which has many attractions. It is also close to District 3 and Chinatown in District 5. I can certainly recommend it.

Neat place to stay in District 10

This a great little hotel in a non-touristy area of Saigon. We chose it because it was within walking distance of the train station and found that it is also close to the city centre (15 minutes away on buses 13 or 65). The local area has lots of places to eat at very cheap prices, including many vegan and vegetarian options, and there's a market on the same road every morning.

We stayed in one of the superior rooms and then moved to a studio. One thing to note is that the studios do not get natural light (just a small window in the bathroom), whereas the superior rooms face the street. Internet was good during our stay as there's a router or 2 on each floor. Lovely rooftop bar on the top floor with cool decor and nice views.

It was a last minute getaway. Despite being a 2 star rated, taxi drivers knew where the hotel is located. Indeed, we had a pleasant experience. It is a nice and simple hotel. Great location. The VIP suite is spacious, with cooking amenities, jacuzzi, room service, etc. It could have been a five star only if the jacuzzi nozzle was clean, the pot beside the bath wasn't breeding mosquitoes, hangers wasn't rusty and drinking water notified to be chargeable

The neighborhood is not a tourist area so if you are looking for tourist spots you have to take a taxi, which is very cheap. You do get to experience the real city and mix in with the locals. I booked MC hotel for one night, but I decided to stay here for my whole 5 days-trip in Ho Chi Minh city. The staffs were helpful and welcoming. Ms. Hotel Manager gave my lots of advices for tourist attractions in Ho Chi Minh city. My room was nice, simple, clean and sufficient for all of my needs. MC's location is not far from the downtown, you can either take the bus or the taxi. I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a decent place to stay when traveling to Saigon.

l chose Minh Chau hotel because I planned to take the train to Mui Ne, and the hotel was close to the station. I extended my staying for two more days because I loved the surrounding area. There are many cafe, restaurants with delicious food, and friendly people in this area. From the hotel to the city centre cost me about 6,000 VND by bus and about 55,000 by taxi. The terrace restaurant of Minh Chau hotel was really pretty with delicious food, especially the sauteed noodles with seafood.The room here is very clean and huge, the staff is really friendly, and the hotel manager is very informative. She also helped me to plan for my trip to Mui Ne.

We stayed here for 3 nights in April 15 as it was near the railway station. The manager and staff are so helpful and the tours they advertise are value for money and well worth booking through the hotel. We went on a morning tour of Saigon, had lunch then a tour of Chu Chi tunnels all for $12 each.

The room was large and clean and breakfast was a choice of 3 egg based dishes. the restaurant/garden room is impressive.

The location is great for the railway station but not so great if you want to be in the centre near the sites. A taxi isn't expensive so that wasn't a problem for us.

Best hotel for the price!

I stayed at this hotel with my friend for 3 days. We were supposed to stay there for 4 days but unfortunately we got in a little later than expected (not in any way related to the hotel). When got there we were greeted by very friendly staff and and owner. They made sure to show us around and made us comfortable about our stay.

The hotel is in excellent condition, food looks great and compared to other hotel we stayed in HCMC this hotel is very quiet. The staff is very knowlegeable of the area and made sure to explain to us how to properly get to our destination.

My friend has to leave at 2am to catch her flight, the staff made sure that we had a taxi waiting for her at that time outside of the hotel and me I had to stay couple of hours more and they gave me a discount!

Overall very please by this hotel, would recommend to anyone who's looking for an affordable hotel with great location and amneties.

The hotel is about 1/2 a Km from the train station (moto VND 20,000 ~ $1 USD). It's about a 30-40 minute walk to district 1 (main area) (taxi VND 50,000 ~ $2.30 USD). Owner speaks excellent English. Organised all my taxi's and tours as need. Roof top restaurant with good selection for breakfast and dinner if you want to eat in (breakfast not included). No street noise in the rooms I stayed in. But internal noise from other guests did echo a lot. Great bath.

Excellent Hotel with Amazing Staff

They are extremely helpful and accommodating and did everything they could to make my start comfortable. The room was small but perfect for one person and super clean and the bathroom was very nice and had a proper tub with everything you need. Their restaurant is cheap and their coffee shop is always open. The only downside was it wasn't in the center so you had to take a taxi to go to the major things, but their amazing service makes up for it!

Convenient and nice stay for one night

We only staid one night at Minh Chau Hotel, before heading to Mui Ne. Overall the hotel is well kept and in good conditions. It is located in District 10, in a more authentic area of Ho Chi Minh City, so not that close but neither too far to downtown area (consider between 50000 and 100000 dong to go to the city center by taxi).
The staff and the lady owner were very helpful and gave us many tips on how to move around and get to the bus office the next morning. They even agreed on letting us have breakfast earlier than the scheduled time range, and the lady got up early and prepared it for us.

Lost Trust in Hotel.com Description and Reviews

I don't know how the heck this hotel got such high ratings. I booked this hotel based on the hotel description and the high rating. The minute I got to the hotel I felt like I was bamboozled. The hotel was very dusty and deteriorating. I got into the room and was struck by the smell of mold and rotting wood from the old furniture. There was holes in the bath room tiles. The bed sheets looked like the room was rented out hourly and were simply remade. I immediately booked another hotel and returned the room.

Hotel near the train station and supermarket

This hotel is average in terms of quality. The owner is nice enough. Its about a 15 mi ute walk from the saigon train station and a supermarket wuth a movie theater. The area is out of the way of most anything else but there are some cool cafes and restaurants if you explore a bit. Walls are a bit thin on the first floor but has AC and hot water. Restaurant upstairs is quiet and comfortable.

Outstanding service

The service was outstanding!! The owner was so friendly and helpful. We had only 2 days in Ho Chi Minh and she really helped is make the most of it. We stayed in a big room with a nice bathroom- bath/shower with hot water. Comfortable stay. We had to take cabs every where but the owner always told the cab driver where we needed to go.

excellent value for the money

Good value for the money. Room is clean and no smell of mould at all. Good stay for an overnight as we had an early flight next morning. Can't judge the location in the city but feels that I would be a bit off. Anyway the rood top restaurant has an outstanding view and layout.

We're staying here next time as well.

No windows to the outside but not we really had a thought about.

Great safe hotel close but not in district 1

We stayed there for 15 days. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are cleaned and the towels are changed every day. They have hot water showers!! People on the street there are honest and courteous. We ate mostly about 50 meters to the right of the hotel across the blue cross pharmacy sign. Meals on the street are about $1.50 US. At the beginning of the street of the hotel you can take a bus to the Ben Than market for .25 cents US. People on the bus will give up their seats to tourists!
Fortunately, the owner of the hotel speaks very good English and helped us out when my wife had to go to the hospital.

\" A hotel made out of love\"

We picked this hotel not so much because of the hotel's close to some city attractions and its accomodation conditions but primarily because of the very encouraging feedbacks that guests make about its owner- Mrs. Phu. And honestly, it was the prospect of us meeting and getting to know her in person that served as the more preponderant motivation to book the hotel prior to our return flight to Manila, Philippines. And we were not disappointed. Mrs. Phu was truly an angel- to say the least! She made sure that we were comfortable and safe; giving us helpful tips on where to go and what to do around the city knowing the very limited time that we had. She was the one who personally called the taxi and always making a point to instruct the taxi driver of where we were going, where to drop us off, and even for the driver to use the taxi meter! She also exchanged our money (dollar to dong) when we could'nt find a money changer telling us we can still exchange whatever remains if we need to. And she also opened the hotel restaurant which was already closed for the night to cook for us a savory vietnamese dinner herself before we checked out. She was truly an amazing woman! God bless her heart!

A good nights stay from the train station.

The owner is who makes this place different. She is a hostess as well as the manager and goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable. The hotel is dated though disgs sins of charm in a quiet out of the way neighborhood. Charging for breakfast and water is a bit unexpected but hey, I suppose it helps the price appear more reasonable. It is a good overnight stay.
