Great host and experience

Spent 3 nights at this hotel and it was a great experience.

The hotel is on the older side but the room is huge, the ac is cold and the wifi works great. For the price of a fast food meal in the west, what more could you ask for?

The best part of the stay is without a doubt the hospitable owner Michael and his wife. Not only were they friendly, Michael offered me many great advices and even treated me to a wonder dinner his wife prepared on my last night.

Overall, for what you are paying. The hotel offers everything you would need. If you are looking for a luxury experience, go book a 5-star hotel. If you are looking to travel on a budget with a large room with all the basic accommodations and a wonderful owner, than look no further.

My recent stay at this hotel had its pros and cons. On the positive side, the owner was friendly, and the bed was comfy. However, the negatives were hard to overlook.

The shower consistently had cold water, and the bathroom had a persistent odour. The reception area had a strong cat urine odour, with about 4 adult cats and 3 kittens. A less-than-pleasant surprise included encountering cat faeces on multiple occasions in the lobby and hallway. Contrary to expectations, there's no pool, and breakfast options are basic, limited to toast, bananas, and instant coffee. The wifi was also subpar.

While the owner's hospitality and a comfortable bed were highlights, the drawbacks might make you reconsider this hotel. It's worth exploring other options in the area.

A Quiet respite after kayaking, trekking

Truly a “haven” in the midst of a busy town! The open air reception, the hand carved wooden tables, the smiling staff and owner … all charmed us and made our stay lovely! After hours of kayaking and traipsing thru the downtown area, we enjoyed warm showers and a relaxing, spacious room. The location was perfect: an easy walk to many restaurants and yet a quiet place to retire and recharge. We are definitely going back to this hotel!

We Had booked 2 nights in Vangvieng but stayed 18 hrs.
The town is a dusty dump, filled with silly Chinese tourists renting noisy motor boats going up and down the river, and driving DuneBuggies on the city roads.
The hotel is falling apart, even the somewhat new building part. Bathroom is dirty and repaired with a piece of plywood.
On one side, The backpacker hostel next door is noisy until late; on the other side there is a construction site that’s in operation 12 hrs a day.
The internet doesn’t work on room floors despite multiple routers. Only the lobby and pool ones are reliable.
The only positive was a decent mattress (still firm but not hard) and fresh new nice smelling bed linen (amazingly).
If your budget is low, it beats an hostel, but for few dollars more you can find better. And keep in mind they don’t provide breakfast (easy to find on Main Street).
Left early the next morning to go to Vientiane...

We were given a villa room that was enormous and quite new so it was great. There's no mountain views - a new building has been built blocking it now. Location is handy for everything and a coffee shop next door as no breakfast is provided. Reception area smelled of cat pee as there's a number of cats living there, but it didn't affect us. There was never anyone at the pool which was clean but cold.

great location as it is right next to the walking street. we spent two nights here during christmas 2018. The young guy at the reception is very friendly. Room was ok. Floor was dusty and hotwater was not constant. Overall i was pleased with this hotel and would recommend this to anyone.

There were hairs on the floor and bedding when we checked in. The stafffs were responsive but our first impression was terrible. The bathroom hot water was not working well. It is outdated and not a three star hotel you would expect usually. Not like the pictures. The staffs were friendly and nice but the facility was not so good.

Higher quality in Vang Vieng for a decent price

Nice hotel, deluxe room <$30 USD a night. Owner was very nice, was allowed to check in early, arranged an early bus back to Vientiane to assure I didn't miss my flight. The hotel is conveniently located. Only downsides were the laundry was overpriced compared to other places in town, and my room was not cleaned during my stay. Overall would recommend.

As Vang Veng expands, Laos Haven is suffering, with a noisy Backpacker hostel next door.

Great hotel in Vang Vieng

Location was fantastic as the hotel is right near all the restaurants and bars and only a short walk away from the river. The room was spacious and clean. The pool was an added bonus! Only issue was the pool side toilets smelt like drains a lot so we just used the toilet in our room.

Not a bad hotel this one, however still a little under development when we stayed there. Staff were very nice and the rooms were good for what we needed. We did request to move rooms away from facing the road due to the noise and they accommodated that no problem. One main issue to be aware of is that there was a lot of loud music coming from properties near by which were being developed, not sure if this is a regular thing but worth considering if peace and quiet needed after long day of adventure. Surrounding nature is excellent so you may not be in the room much anyway.

My friend who had a room separate from me had $1000 stolen from his in-room safe. Only the owner/manager had a key to the safe and he claimed innocence(of course). Stay at this hotel at your own risk! Beware!

Decent for the Price

There isn't a lot of middle of the road options for Vang Vieng. This hotel was okay. The front desk staff were friendly enough, and the room was OK. The air conditioning did not work well. I wouldn't have wanted to stay more than one night but it did the trick - room was nice a big with a balcony. It was CRAZY loud with pounding music outside until about 3am then the roosters started.

After 3 hours late departure from Luang Prabang, finally we arrived at the hotel around 9 pm. The hotel is near the tourists spot (eg. hotel/ hostel, cafes and restaurants). The staff are very friendly especially Michael and very helpful too. We booked tour packages with him which consists of tubing in Water Cave, Ziplining, 1.5 hours kayaking in Nam Song River, tour to Elephant Cave and Blue Lagoon with very good prices. The next morning we all set to go and the funny thing was we are not wear suitable attires for the activities. Michael are very thoughtful and he lend us water proof bag. They also help us with the laundries since our clothes all wet because of the activities with affordable price and they managed to finish it just before we leaving Vang Vieng.

Nice hotel in quieter part of Vang Vieng. The owners were attentive and helpful.

The rooms were a little devoid of colour which gave them a cell-like appearance. However they were very clean and comfortable.

The new swimming pool was very welcome on hot afternoons. There are also some lovely walks over the river; just Google for maps & info.

Really helpful owner/operators at Laos Haven

This was a great 'value for money' stay with the unexpected bonus of a great pool, and the most helpful owners we have met yet in our travels so far. We booked our tubing (on the quieter south stretch of the Nam Song River), our day tour to the 'elephant cave', the tubing cave and kayaking on the northern stretch of the Nam Song, and our onward minivan trip to Vientiane through reception, and all went exactly as planned without any 'hidden extras' to pay (as seems to be the way of things in Laos). The breakfast deal was excellent and we would choose to stay here again if back in Vang Vieng.

Good value for the price

This is a nice, clean, safe hotel close to everything. If you are coming on a bus from Vientiane, the bus stops next door - you can just walk to the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. They arranged a caving and kayaking tour for us, and bus tickets to Luang Prabang - both with good companies. The room was clean (we had a triple), spacious and water pressure in the shower was great. The common sitting areas on the second and third floor balconies are a nice feature, though the view is partially obstructed by development. If you want a place with a great view of the mountains, you should opt for a hotel on the riverbank. There are many of those, and new big ones are currently being added (unfortunately). However, if you are on a budget, this is a perfectly fine place. The only real complain I would have would be the breakfast. It is rather plain and the same every day. We stayed for 3 nights, so it got tiring.

For a 3 star hotel it is what you expect of the facilities. What makes a difference is the customer service. Michael is great. He helped us with mini van booking, explained the difference between services which no one in laos was able to explain ( even travel agencies), the breakfast is great! Location is close and walking distance to everything.

Great value, fantastic views

At the quieter end of town with great views of the mountains from the balcony at sunrise and sunset. Good aircon, fridge and great breakfast included in the price. The restaurant food looked good too but we only tried the ice cream which was delicious. Patchy wifi was the only gripe. Lovely friendly owners who had some beautiful siamese cats also living on the premises, but they wouldn't bother you in case you dont like cats.

Laos Haven Hotel - 2 Star Hotel at Best

Judging from all the reviews online, I thought this place would be a lot better than it was. It's a 2 star hotel at best. The hosts were nice and pleasant but the room was extremely old and uncomfortable. Though it was clean, everything was bare minimum. Breakfast was literally eggs and rice. I know Vang Vieng is still developing but this was a very average hotel. If you're OK with that, then book it. If not, look for something else.

The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Hotel was average but reasonably cheap so what do you expect. Old bathroom which was pretty poor although the room was large and hot water was good. Hotel is tired and in need of renovation. Breakfast was subpar. Wifi was bad. Not a bad location as it is away from the centre so its quiet but a little bit of a walk into town (5mins). For the price of this hotel it's not bad.

Large rooms, spotlessly clean

A spotlessly clean hotel far enough away from most of the backpacker bars and hotels to make it a quiet location, yet still next door to a mini van bus depot. Still close to everything. tours and ongoing transportation organised, slight premium on nearby tour companies but everything went perfectly, and advice was spot on.
The staff all very friendly and helpful, despite language barriers
Only downside, which is common in Laos, the light switches are all in one place, on the mains board just inside the room.
Thoroughly recommend this hotel,and will stay here again when I next visit Laos

The owner was welcoming. There is no lift (as such) but the stairs were wide enough for us to manage our luggage up to the room. The restaurant hours were restrictive but the food was tasty. There were no coffee making facilities in the room. The bed was the hardest I have slept in. The maid pointed out an effective contraption to help us get our cases down when we were checking out (we had thought it was for the builders to use). There is building work taking place next door. Good value for money though.

A good night after a hard day tubing

Stayed here for a few days of tubing. Was perfect as it was close to everything including a good hostel to pre drink at.
The hotel was quiet but the owners were very accomodating and extremely helpful when it came to booking our next part of our trip.
Close to plenty of reteraunts and walking distance to the popular bars.

The room is clean, and gets cleaned every day. They also refill water, change towels etc.
Location is a bit far from the center, where all the bars and restaurants are but not too far. They also have nice services like booking trips etc.

We stayed 4 nights here and thought it was a good choice. Quiet with a really comfortable bed. The on-site restaurant happened to be closed during our stay except for the included breakfast, which was pretty basic but okay. A little bit away from town, but maybe that's what makes it quiet. Our bus from Vientiane dropped us off 2 doors away and we used the same company for a minibus to Luang Prabang, which we recommend. Also recommend the Ahea restaurant a few hundred meters up the street (turn left out of hotel).

Good budget hotel

The hotel is clean with clean linen and a simple breakfast included in the price. The top floor rooms are very hot from the sun so get a 1st or 2nd floor room. We booked the minivan to Luang Prabang from the hotel and it took only three and half hours using the new route. The road was still windy but reduced the journey from the usual six hours.

A tiny little haven in Vang Vieng

Hotel staff Michael was extremely helpful and welcoming. The hotel is located slightly out of the main area of town which was good as it was away from the pubs and noise but as the town is small everything is a stone's throw. There are a few places to eat nearby. Breakfast is of a decent standard and of typical Lao hotel fair. The room was basic but clean. We felt safe in our room. Wifi was good.

Nice hotel along a main but quiet street.

We stayed here a few nights. We tried to stay again on our second trip to Vang Vieng, but we arrived too late at night and reception was closed. The hotel is operated by a very kind and hardworking couple. The breakfast was excellent, especially the bread! Location was good, near the bus stop and about 2km from the main bus station. On a main non-party road, so it was nice and quiet at night. Our room was pretty nice. A few places where corners were cut, such as a broken toilet seat, but this just seems to be how it is in Laos. We'd definitely recommend to others!

Friendly,clean and quiet place in good location

We stayed here for two nights and had nothing to complain about. Rooms are spacious and clean, everything looked well maintained. Aircon, fridge and hot shower worked well. Staff was very friendly. Location is a bit off the center but easy walking distance to everything (not to difficult in such a small town). Ticket for the minibus to Luang Prabang were a bit more expensive then in town but we were the first to be picked up so we could get the best seats. Breakfast was basic but good to start the day. Dinner in the restaurant was tasty thai food, even portions good be a bit bigger. We can absolutely recommend this place and would stay here again.

We stayed 4 nights and was a very pleasant experience. Michael was very friendly and accommodating! Great location as you were away from the noise and party scene but about a 3 minute walk to the action if you wanted to partake. We did laundry there and everything came back clean and complete. Restaurant was very good also but portions were a little small.

추가 요금을 지불하고 투 베드 방을 예약했는데 방이 없다며 쓰리베드 방을 배정하고, 주인 여자가 와서는 직원에게 고함치고 화를 내어 불편하였고, 욕실이 아주 오래된 시설로 씻기 불편했음. 요금은 다른 곳보다 비싼데 조식도 포함돠지 않았음. 밖에 식당가서 아침식사하라고 함.

Quelques points négatifs à souligner: nous avions réservé une chambre avec un lit double et à l’arrivée nous avons été prévenus qu’il n’y avait plus que des chambres avec des lits doubles ...
d’autre part, le petit dej est vraiment limite. Du “jus d’orange” au goût très très chimique et du café sans même la possibilité d’avoir du lait.
Les personnes de l’accueil parle un anglais très très basique ce qui n’est pas facile pour communiquer et obtenir des renseignements sur les alentours.
La chambre est assez spacieuse, et propre. Cependant notre évier était complètement bouché.....

繁華街から少し離れてるが、かえってざわざわしてなく、深夜になれば静かである。夜は隣のホステルが夜11時迄かなりうるさいので早寝は無理かも。それを除けば、周りにはレストランやマッサージ屋、何でも売ってる便利屋に二つのナイトマーケットに挟まれてるので立地は良い。バイクレンタルは近くの店で24時間借りてオートマチック車が10万キップ。半日は5〜6万キップ。朝食は付いてないのが残念。

바로옆건물 서양인들전용클럽있음.시끄러움. 4일묵었는데 침대시트랑 이불 안갈아줌. 클리닝업표시걸어놓았는데 갈아주는게아니라 원래있던거정리만해줌. 원가절감오짐. 빨래는 키로당 16000낍. 동네찾으면 8000도나옴. 중개수수료오짐. 침대는 스프링의 표면이 느껴져서 허리로 방방타는느낌임. 선반들은 약 10도정도 다 기울어져있어 물건들이 미끄럼틀탐. 콘센트는 머리주변에없어서 충전하려면 침대에서 일어나야함.

バルコニー（一部）付きの広い部屋

何度か利用してるが、価格相応のホテル。ゲストハウスから改築してホテルに改装してる途中と言う感じ。オーナーさんはきさくで話し好きの感じの良い人。部屋は２階建ての新館を選択。4階建ての旧館にはエレベーターが付いて無いので上り下りが大変なのでパス。エレベーターの新設が欲しい所である。

저렴하고 깨끗한 호텔

방비엥 사쿠라바에서 도보로 7분 정도 떨어져있으며, 헤어드라이기가 없어서 리셉션에서 빌려야 합니다. 친절하시며, 후기를 보니 돈이 없어졌다 하는데, 따로 돈이 없어지거나 그러진 않았습니다.

J'ai vu mieux mais c'est correct

Bien placé. Par contre je trouves un peu impersonnelle que les gens de la réception se cache dans leur pièce à eux. L'équipement des chambres est un peu désuet. L'entretien est un peu négligé, c'est plus beau de l'extérieur que de l'intérieur.

新築バルコニー付だが安いかも

バルコニー付の部屋を利用。写真とは違う部屋で新築だがかなり暗い。洋服タンスがなかった。昼間でもデスクワークするには照明つけないとできない。バスルームが広くて給湯式シャワーの割には熱いお湯が出た。バルコニーも広々としており、良い。セキュリティも24時間体制で安全である。ただ、ここでレンタルバイクの手配をお願いすると、他の店よりかなり割高料金を請求されるのでお勧めしない。しかし総合的には宿代の割には満足出来るホテルであった。

โรงแรมอยู่ใกล้ถนนคนเดิน

โรงแรมกำลังต่อเติมอยู่ มีฝุ่นเยอะมาก เราได้ห้องพักที่อาคารเก่า พื้นห้องฝุ่นเยอะมากไม่ได้รับการถูพื้นเลย เตียงนอนไม่ค่อยสบาย ผ้าปูเตียงเก่ามาก ยิ่งปลอกหมอนน่ากลัวมากๆ ต้องหาเสื้อมารองแทน กลอนห้องน้ำเสีย เครื่องทำน้ำอุ่นใช้ได้ดี แต่ชักโครกในห้องน้ำมีเสียงดังเหมือนมีน้ำดันขึ้นจากท่อตลอด ความสะอาดของโรงแรมจัดว่าแย่มากนะ พนักงานไม่บริการไม่ค่อยดีเท่าที่ควร

Netter Besitzer mit freundlichem Staff. Zur Zeit wird teils Renoviert und die Ambiente fehlt, aber das wird nach der Renovation sicher wieder besser. Frühstück und Essen allgemein ist locker in Gehdistanz zu erreichen.

저희 일행은 주로 아침에 나가서 액티비티를 했고 밥은 나가서 해결했기 때문에 조식은 잘모르겠습니다. 다른분들 후기를 보면 주변 공사 소리로 시끄럽다 하는데 낮에 숙소에 있으면 약간 시끄러운 정도입니다. 공사장 소리에 민감하신 분은 피하는게 좋습니다. 다른 후기에 직원이 금품을 손댄다는 이야기가 있어서 3일 동안 룸청소는 안해서 거기에대한 후기는 못남기겟고 딱히 없어진 물건이나 돈은 없습니다. 근거리에 한국인 사장님이 운영하시는 할리스 커피나 K마트가 있어서 이 호텔뿐 아니라 주변 호텔 모두 이동이나 생필품 조달은 굉장히 쉽습니다.
라오스는 2월중순이 매우 춥습니다. 여름날씨라 생각하고 반팔 반바지만 챙겼다간 저녁에 벌벌 떨면서 잠잘수 있으니 초여름이나 초가을 날씨라고 생각 하시고 옷을 챙기고 방에 에어컨은 나오지만 난방은 불가하니 그거 감안하고 방을 잡으시기 바랍니다.

ที่พักเดิน800เมตรจากขนส่ง เงียบสงบดีแต่เดินไกลจากที่เที่ยว แต่มีสระว่ายน้ำ อนาคตน่าจะสะดวกสบายขึ้นเนื่อใจากกำลังปรับปรุงพื้นที่ โดยรวมถือว่าดีค่ะ

가격대비 조용한 숙소

방비엥 중심 거리와는 조금 떨어져 있지만 도보 5분 정도면 충분히 걸어갈만한 거리구요, 중심가랑 떨어져 있어 조용하긴 합니다. 조그만 수영장도 있고, 엘리베이터는 없지만 짐용 수동 엘리베이터(?)가 있어 직원분이 짐은 어렵지 않게 옮겨주시긴 합니다. 수압이 세진 않지만 샤워에 불편할 정도로 약하지도 않구요, 근데 주인이신지 로비를 지키고 계시는 할아버지께서 영어를 못한다기 보다는 말이 좀 어눌하다고 해야하나? 알아듣기기 좀 힘듭니다. 다른 남자 직원분은 괜찮긴 한데 항상 계시는 거 같진 않습니다. 가격대비 뭐 적당한 편이었습니다.
