We had a wonderful stay. Stated for four days and three nights, which was the perfect amount of time to explore and relax. The resort has a restaurant that serves delicious food, and you can always order food to your room. They also offer plenty of activities you can take part in. They have different promotions also, depending on the season. The deluxe room we had had a jacuzzi, which was really nice (only complaint is it did not stay hot enough). The staff were also excellent during the stay and very accommodating.

The room was a good size that didn't feel like a standard hotel room; the bed was soft, and the shower was spacious. The toilet is separate from the shower.

Did the sunset cruise, which was great, and make sure to ask whether it includes dinner. The Lao massage is also definitely a must.

My only complaint is i wish I had been informed the sunset cruise did not come with dinner bc the pictures made it seem like it did.

Stunning place in beautiful location

What a stunning place to stop... Beautiful beach front room with private patio are. Room was very large and loved the bathroom overlooking a small private planted courtyard.

the view across the lake from the pool is amazing and a great place to relax.
food was very good and the spa massage was also very good.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. we had the inclusive package which was amazing value for what we paid

We stayed here for two nights and wish we’d had a third! We were so glad we picked to stay here - the setting is beautiful and it was great to get a better feel of the countryside of Laos rather than just the cities. Perfect place to chill. If your main reason for going to the area is to do activities in vang vieng I would stay in the city itself as it is quite a long taxi drive (about 40 mins) but if you want a relax and occasional activity in Vang Vieng then this is perfect. Staff were all lovely, in particular the operations manager was so helpful and sorted any issues we had straight away. Good massage and food was good and reasonably priced for a hotel. We rented a kayak (not expensive) on the lake which was also really nice to do. Maybe wear a flip flop for arrival if it’s just been rainy season!

Special spot. We changed our plans and left Vientiane a day early, got a rental pick up truck and drove to Nam Ngum lake. Best. Decision. Ever. The area is gorgeous and natural. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are individual bungalows with private porches. We were on honeymoon and the management went out of their way to help us celebrate by giving us a complementary drink and a room upgrade. The view from the rooms is extraordinary -especially at sunset. The restaurant was very good. Floating swimming pool was really awesome. Do yourself the favor and book for a few nights at the Sanctuary, we wished we could have stayed longer!

Hotel is quite far from vang vieng and requires a hotel shuttle for transport to the city. Breakfast was not good. The room is on the small side and there are bugs and insects. Staff had limited english

Likely the best place to stay in the area and would stay again. Only critique was smell in the bathroom/shower room. If the fans were off there was a residual smell from the sceptic tank. Not much they could do about it though and with the fans on it was manageable. The room was clean, staff was very pleasant and helpful and we plan to return.

The staff is super friendly and beautiful hotel

The staff was very helpful and friendly all the time ! The hotel is around 20min from the city center by car but the hotel has free shuttle twice a day . The rooms are very clean and big. There are many activities to do : kayak, boats, swimming pool in the river, etc.
The hotel also helps you to book the best tours and transport to everything .
The food is also nice at the hotel (fried fish with traditional sauce is the best) and if you prefer “regular” food there are good hamburgers and nuggets. In general it was an excellent experience !

isolation more than sanctuary (potential not met)

I think there is a lot of potential in this resort, but it hasn’t met it. It seems like the bare bone of what it can be. Currently it’s less of a sanctuary and more of an isolation with not much to do. If you are looking for just a clean bed with a nice view, then this is the place for you. For others, it might be better to find something closer to town. drive to main town area is 30 minutes (which is manageable) but the hotel OVERCHARGES for the ride back and forth. Wifi is very weak throughout the resort other than the lobby. First room they put me in had no wifi signal at all.

Positives: great view. Clean bed.

Good but not much to do around the resort. The pool was too cold to swim in. The rooms were nice but definitely need to put in shelving so that all your luggage is not all over the floor

Hotel reservation I decided to cancel

Before I even begin my review, I wanted to point out that my previous review was removed along with any other recent reviews of this hotel, thus you only see 2 reviews and 5.0 rating. :o)
Despite what you may see in photos, you may realize otherwise when you visit this hotel property. It was not good enough for my stay. It was not clean enough and too far away from town. If you wanted to eat or massage elsewhere, you would have to drive into town for 30-40 minutes on poor road condition. I travel quite often and I would rate this hotel 2.5, 3 at the most. After visiting the hotel, I've contacted Expedia to cancel my reservation, but the hotel refused based on its policy. As a VIP member, I never had any problem cancelling my reservation, but the general manager of this hotel was more focused on following its policy, rather than wanting to find out the reason for my cancellation and how he can accommodate to provide very best customer service. Good hotel with good management is always interested in how to best serve its customers' needs to provide a memorable stay and I did not see that here. There are far better hotels in town if you want to experience VangVieng.

Wonderful stay

The resort is far from vang vieng city center about 25 kilometers. It means this is a good place for relaxation. The view is very beautifull and the resort located between lakes. Room decoration is very nice and u can see the river when u sleeping on the bed from your room, good smell is everywhere, even toilet. There is a very good resturant with delicies meals and perfect breakfast. rasturant has been managed by a belgium young cheff, my wife and I want to thank the cheff. You can find some activities like jeteski, kayaking,atc. More over, there is a swiming pool that sorunded by lake, this pool is not very big but the view is very nice.we enjoyed a lot from our stay in this resort and I think this resort is one of the best in vang vieng. If we come back to vang vieng in future, certainly we stay in this hotel again. Thank you very much from the kind and friendly staff.

Beautiful design villas waterfront

Extraordinary stay : full equiped design boutique villas with views on the lake. kayak on the site for a very low rental rate. Fancy pool and helful staff. They do their best to accomodate you in this remote location away from all the noise from the Vang Vieng loud crew. 15 km away from it all. La paix et la tranquilité.

Bon séjour mais pas aussi bien que nous l’espérions accès en voiture délicat route non bitumée peu d’indications la propriété est bien entretenue mais semble un peu à l’abandon c’est dommage le tarif à la nuitée est très cher

Les seules critiques pouvant être émises ont trait au vieillissement relatif de certaines installations du site, et entre autre d un jaccuzi un peu fatigué. Toutefois sachons raison garder, et il faut signaler plein de choses très positives.
Les activités proposées, l organisation parfaite, la gentillesse et disponibilité de tous, une terrasse fantastique, et resto sympa. Aucun regret de ces 3 nuitées que nous conseillons vivement, juste assez loin de la déjantée, bruyante et alcoolisée Vang vieng. c était décidément le bon choix. Merci particulier à Mélissa pour l organisation préalable, et au manager Alexandre, disponible, ouvert, professionnel et sympa. Merci enfin à Théo pour sa ballade sur le lac avec un lieu de baignade juste magique. Découvrez enfin les environs, et cet étonnant sanctuaire pour animaux juste derrière le parking. Prenez un jet ski et éclatez vous sur ce lac plein de charmes. Vous avez rendu ce séjour magnifique.
