The whole hotel was spotless. The rooms were quiet, I slept very well, and the food was amazing. We were visiting from Houston, Texas, and would definitely like to visit again.

Beautiful, boutique hotel. The staff were all incredibly nice and helpful from the moment we walked in. The hotel has been very tastefully decorated with amazing love and attention. The owner was so generous with his time to talk to us and made us feel so comfortable. Would love to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone.

Nice place. Got an upgrade but electric radiator in bathroom not much use would have to wake up at 5am and switch on to heat bathroom up. Large double bed with large dip in mattress on right hand side. When plug in sink in bathroom is pulled out to drain sink water this drains to shower tray which obviously had not been used for a while as terrible stench came out.

Secret hideaway stay

This is a lovely place to stay. We were well looked after, my gluten free dietary needs were catered for and the staff were very accommodating.

The house is old so we expected that the rooms might be ‘quirky’ but we had a dangerous fault with our shower that could have resulted in serious scalding incident. We have informed the managers so they can deal with it.

Dinner was 5* as you’d expect in a place with a chef of this calibre - wine and port also excellent. Pricey, but not excessive.

Overall a lovely quiet and peaceful place to stay but close to local attractions and amenities if you want to travel to them .

This is an elegant country house with a story. It was once home to Princess Margaret and Lord Snowden, whose family owned it. The house is wonderfully furnished and the dining experience worth reservations for dinner. Breakfast options plentiful and delicious. Very friendly place and great location to key sights in the area.

Treat yourself to this Country side bit of heaven

This is a beautiful, historic country home that is a now a hotel with a gourmet (Country famous chef) restuarant on site. The grounds are large and beautiful. There are historic documents, pictures and furniture all throughout the property. Beautiful sitting room / bar. Staff helpful and friendly. Would love to go back.

The property was more modest and less grand than I expected, although the service was genuine and welcoming.

Very good Covid measures in place, although guests should note there are only two sittings for dinner - 6pm and 8pm. The breakfast is also staggered and guests must pre-order. However, Covid measures don't detract from the stay if you're a little organised.

The room was clean, well appointed although had a couple of maintenance issues. The rooms were just about warm enough - but only just.

The breakfast, in particular the vegetarian breakfast and avocado on toast were disappointing. The vegetarian breakfast was nice, but not very filling, whilst the cooked breakfast was reasonable. The avocado was hard and not ripe.

The room booked was unfortunately on the ground floor and there were noises from other guests moving around above us and going out early morning,(5am). Bathroom needs refurbishing.
The restaurant was closed the 2 nights we stayed although light bites were on offer, again disappointing!.
Interesting property to visit.

This however did not spoil our beautiful stay at this lovely house. Especially enjoyed the drawing room with selection of games. Restaurent was fantastic and the food brilliant. Really lovely country house, lots of history and interesting decorations/ pictures around the house. Every room is very stylish, the staff are very welcoming and accommodating, I arrived late but it wasn’t a problem. The room was really nice, lots of space, comfy bed, has all amenities you’d need in the room which was nice. Bath shower was very nice and has complimentary molten brown in the rooms (very nice!) I unfortunately arrived too late to enjoy dinner, which I’ve heard is exceptional, but i did have breakfast and it was brilliant, there is a continental Buffett with yoghurts and croissants etc, then the range of cooked breakfasts is wonderful, I had the eggs benedict and it was perfect! Really enjoyed my stay.

Nice grounds and interesting history to the stately home. Stayed in Princess Margaret suite, large room, huge bathroom. Room could have been cleaner though. Poor mattress with no support. A shame there is no food service in the afternoon, but there is an honesty bar and nibbles available in the front room. Breakfast was ok, but disappointingly small continental selection. Didn't try the restaurant in the evening but looked very cosy and interesting gastronomic menu.

We had a wonderful stay in this historic home tucked back in a lovely and spacious garden/park. It was a perfect oasis to visit Snowdonia and surrounding sites. The welcome by the staff was warm and helpful, the furnishings elegant with many historic mementos, and the breakfasts and dinners were superb. It is an older house, so it has no elevator. We look forward to returning.

A very warm welcome, and dinner in the Gun Room restaurant was great. The general decor is rather tired, e.g. The carpet in our Lady Armstrong-Jones room was stained and the rug a trip hazard. However the amenities in the room were lovely. The breakfast service on Sunday was poor, having to wait too long for our breakfast order to be taken and then ask for dirty dishes to be removed, but good service returned on the Monday. Paula was outstanding and we shared these views with her prior to leaving.

Had a lovely time at Plas Dinas. We stayed 2 nights- the first in the Judges room which was lovely. The floors do slope and the head of the bed is lower as a consequence, and the second in Byrkley- very spacious with lovely armchairs by the fire. The breakfast was delicious and the lovely touches in the room were a nice surprise- home made biscuits, fudge, brownie and a little decanter of whisky. Paula and her team could not do enough for us- will definitely go back

Beautiful hotel, steeped in history. The staff were extremely professional and instantly put you at ease and made you feel at home. We ate in the gun room restaurant and the food was superb, our complements to the chef. The bedrooms were tastefully decorated, with very comfortable beds. This is a great place to explore the North of Wales; the hotel has a great history and is furnished accordingly, in a bright and clean condition and not grumpy from the victorian era :-)
The hotel is surrounded of a beautifull garden in a calm area.
I liked the library where you could let the evening end with a nice nightcap.
I loved the breakfast which was delicious.

Historic comfort

This is a beautiful, historic house set in its own extensive grounds. It was the country retreat for the Snowdon family, and the hotel retains many of the original contents, including paintings and photographs. It's a National Trust treasure of the future. So it's very interesting and historic, but works terrifically as a small, comfortable hotel. Service is very professional and friendly. Evening dinner was good value fine-dining. It's an old, very original house, but the rooms are very comfortable and clean with a nice mix of modern facilities (digital TV, Apple connection) and original fixtures. Finally, it's in a great location - there are short walks in the grounds with views towards the Menai straits, and Snowdonia, Anglesea and the Llyn Peninsula are nearby.

We booked here for a 3 night break and we did indeed enjoy our time here . The team led by the brilliant Paula ( GM) looked after us at every step and from the front desk to the kitchen Chef Dan all made our stay very welcoming and pleasant. It’s not easy running an establishment of this quality, you were great Paula ...keep it up ! All the best.

Fabulous hotel in beautiful surroundings

If you are looking for a home from home with a little added luxury then this is the place for you. Although I was staying there for a wedding, it’s the perfect location to explore Snowdonia and the beautiful surroundings of North Wales. The hotel itself is my idea of heaven - more of a guest house with attentive and caring staff. Fabulous breakfast and steeped in its own history. Will definitely be going back!

Felt really welcomed to the hotel by Paula . We were taken around the hotel and our room first . Lovely touches like home made biscuits and chocolates in the room . Molten brown toiletries and robes and slippers to wear were a nice touch . The lounge was lovely to sit in at night with interesting books and magazines and the honesty bar ! Breakfast was great the next morning with a buffet table with a full Welsh breakfast cooked to order. Can’t wait to book again !

Wonderful authentic house and ambience, excellent food and service.
The bathroom room did not work but they said they would look into it. We were told apparently that particular 'Peregrine' room only advertises a bath, although it does has a modern full shower and enclosure.
When booking through Expedia we were not given a choice of rooms so we not aware of this clause.
Other than this experience, we would highly recommend this accommodation.

Nice hotel in woodland setting

After a tiring drive from the Midlands upon arrival I enquired what time dinner was served to be told they do not serve dinner on Sunday and Monday evenings. I pointed out that I had telephoned the previous week solely to book dinner on the 1st and 2nd October which booking was accepted. The breakfasts were tasty but all the people we spoke to said the breakfast was not hot. This was pointed out and not surprisingly on the next morning you couldn't touch your plate AFTER breakfast was eaten !!!!

Great place to celebrate our anniversary

We stayed at Plas Dinas a couple of nights during our 2 week trip to Great Britain to celebrate our anniversary. When we booked (several months in advance), the only room available for our days was the Bachelor, which looked lovely on their website. The room was clean, bright, and had a wonderful view of the gardens. They have redone the room so it does not look like the picture on the website but it is still beautifully decorated and comfortable. There isn't a true shower in this room, just a tub that they have added a shower accessory to along with a small tube shower curtain. The breakfast, included with our stay, was wonderful and the Gun Room, where we had dinner the night of our anniversary, was outstanding. Intimate, cozy, and very good food. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and Neil, one of the owners, and Paula, the general manager, were eager to make sure our stay was memorable.

I give good and bad points and have stayed in some of the best (and worst)
Arriving late afternoon from Exeter we were shown our room efficiently which had good tea/coffee etc facilities. We often take short breaks now and the reviews and price were favourable. I believe we missed the best- Lounge (EXCELLENT), Grounds and Seclusion ( yet only 2 miles to city center) due to planned itinerary.The room was smaller than usual but the bathroom (large standard cubicle shower - suited my condition) was very well presented, if short on shelf space. The room's floor had character - it sloped substantially up to the window, (nice lawn/woods view).. The slope (limited room configuration), resulted in sleeping with feet higher than head as opposed to the \"normal\" reverse or horizontal. Unfortunately this brings us to the worst item - the mattress. Whilst I first put my discomfort down to the foregoing, my wife would not, not surprisingly as I discovered, when I insisted we swapped sides. I'm sorry to say that we believe it was totally beyond serviceable, but my wife did not want to complain during our stay.
Breakfast all days had good variety, quality and service (I cheekily asked if I could have fried bread and was willingly accommodated) - pity day one they did not have enough cereal bowls and had to wait for a machine cycle, resulting in red hot bowls! (no water and tea towels ??) . We didn't dine in the evenings only due to the menu not to our taste.
I think/hope were unlucky ?

Very nice.

Fantastic for my very short stay. I was alone on business and Just needed a nice lodging suitable for a gentleman. Extremely pleasant staff! While I was on business i would have very much preferred to be there on holidaybto fylly enjoybthe facilities.

Very well ran hotel, perfectly appointed and excellent food. Very accommodating and would highly recommend it. The grounds are well maintained, with amazing views of the sunset over the estuary. Also if you have dogs they are welcomed and made a fuss of.

Amazing hosts!

The property was lovely as well was the dining and front room. We had the dinner as well. While my husband and I are not into fine dining, the food was great and the experience wonderful. The history of the Inn was tremendous! Our room was a little snug or we would have given all 5's. Paula, the host, could not move fast enough to make sure you were comfortable and well taken care of!
