Honestly was very let down. This was supposed to be a special weekend for my partner and I celebrating his birthday. The rooms look nothing like the ‚updated’ photos that are shown. I understand it is an old building but to not even fix the doors which leave a quarter of an inch looking into the rooms. We also had an issue with parking because we were told “there’s no more passes” and were dismissed. We had to figure it out ourselves which was not the simplest thing to do. There were no towels in my room but by the time I showered and noticed it had been past 8pm and there was no one to contact. The bathroom door was also loose and had actually ”popped” out of the doorframe in the middle of the night which terrified us both.

The building is charming and historic and it’s a really great location! The rooms are not updated at all and lack some basics, like a table to put your things and plugs that are accessible. The walls are very thin and the staff is unreachable at night. With a little love this place could be really amazing!

I knew when booking that the facility was much
Older. The rooms were clean and stocked well. Staff and service were very friendly and accommodating! The water did take a bit to heat up and the rooms at one point were hot but we opened a window/turned on the ac (not a big deal) all in all great stay! Not bad for a 183 year old building 😊

This place has so much potential! But, there was hair on our sheets, the heat is controlled by the front desk, and a space heater, but we also had a window air conditioner still in place, and the room was cold. I asked at the front desk what could be done, and was told sorry ma’sm”. “Other people were hot” No extra space heater supplied despite asking. Breakfast is only highly processed “cake” snack pack type stuff. Too bad, Littleton is lovely.

I love, love, love this building! This is my second time staying here in the Winter. A big 'ole historic building like this makes me feel safe & secure while I'm sleeping at night. I happily used the electric heater & ceiling fan for the perfect room temperature. The only miss for me is breakfast. I'm not a packaged product sort of girl. Seems like the restaurant downstairs could be utilized instead? Or maybe since there are so many nice breakfast options nearby, just offer coffee & tea and skip the rest? Otherwise, please don't change a thing!

The hotel needs a refresh inside and out! The heating in the room could not be regulated and it was impossible to get even hot & cold water in the shower. The breakfast bar was sub-optimal, although the staff were pleasant. I would not recommend this hotel to others.

Everything was charming, the staff were polite and friendly, and we definitely enjoyed our stay. That said, the air conditioner was still in the window, and very cold air streamed in all night, so our room was not warm enough. We piled all of our luggage and coats over the window as best we could, and we were fortunate to have extra blankets in our car, so we slept fine, but the little space heater in our room was not sufficient to keep the room warm.

We enjoyed our stay in this charming small town. The hotel is quite old, opened I believe in 1850. It is in desperate need of renovation/modernization. With great hesitation I must state, the bathroom needs an upgrade, the room is very small, the wall paper was peeling, the floors creak when walking, the radiator in our room was very hot with no adjustments. It was uncomfortable to sleep with such heat although we opened the windows. This hotel was opened in 1850 and deserves some love.

If a(n) historic property (built 1850) is desired, Thayers Inn might be your place. Accommodations are \"quaint\" with several attempts to upgrade to more current standards, such as offering A/C, electrical outlets, etc. We were in a deluxe room which had good bedding and a portable heating unit. For summer conditions, a dehumidifier and ac unit was in the room. Everything was functional, the location excellent and staff friendly. Other rooms had a bit less at the comfort level. You are located on main street, which did quiet after 10 pm, but wakes up about 7 am, at least during the week.

My fiancé and I have been here several times in the last year . We always had amazing stays . This time was different . At registration the staff member said she was going to move us to a different room because there was a room that was larger . We thought that was great . We dropped off our belongings and went out to enjoy the activities in town . When we got back to our room for the night we realized the bed mattress was EXTREMELY SOFT. This mattress never should have been on a platform bed with just slats . The staff had already left for the night so at checkout I did complain about this . The staff member didn’t seem too concerned when I said what a horrible experience we had this time . She just said Oh guess I’ll have to get a new bed .

We were so sad with this experience… this had become OUR PLACE but we feel things have changed … this room was nothing like the beautiful wooden beds and nice mattresses that we had experienced before . It was as though they had replaced the bed with something off Amazon .

Parking was full and no one at the desk when we got there to give us a parking pass initially. Desk said staff would be there 4-10 pm and there was no one there for us to check in with or other occupants looking for parking passes. Reservation was changed to a day earlier on hotels.com and thayers was either not updated or never saw the change. Our keys were not on the counter as directed by the owner, owner showed up 30 minutes after we contacted them to give us keys at 8:30 pm. Room was clean, bed was comfortable.

Really quaint and beautiful hotel. If you are going to Littleton I would only stay here. The location is perfect, you wont get closer to the amenities in the main street. It is like something out of a Christmas24 movie. It isn't 5 star luxury but nor is it meant to be. The bar underneath does amazing food and cocktails too.

Our room was located in the rear of the building, facing the parking lot. There was an intense flood light pointed toward our room in the parking lot. The shades in the window were inadequate and there was quite of bit of light in the room at night. This could be improved simply by installing better shades in the window.

The front desk staff was very good. The least expensive rooms were definitely not what are shown in the pictures. The room was crowded, and the water temperature in the shower changed from hot to cold several times during my very short shower.

Parking was a problem because the lot was full. Front desk staff were not particularly helpful or friendly. My room was cold because of a small air conditioning unit in the window, basically leaving the window open. The space heater plug became so hot, I had to unplug it to allow it to cool down, and when I attempted to plug it in again, it sparked. And there was a distinct mildew smell in the bathroom. It is a quaint property, and I realize it was a busy weekend, but the staff, and difficulty with the room made the stay unpleasant.

Went during leaf peeping season. The inn is in the middle of the small town of Littleton, NH. It is an historic inn and reflects that so expectations need to be tempered. But it was a fun place to stay sloped floors and all. Plenty of cute stores and restaurants to walk to including the covered bridge. Just be mindful of operating hours as several places were closed while we were there and even coffee shops opened later than expected so plan accordingly. Great location to begin the White Mountains loop though!

It's a historic property that hasn't been well maintained at all. The outside paint to the inside wallpaper in our room was peeling or torn. The bed was comfortable and clean, but the room was extremely loud, smelled musty, and the floor unit AC was loud even on low. Amenities non-existent.

It definitely wasnt worth the price they are charging. Cool building, heavily unkept. The continental breakfast was extremely limited. Not worth the historic stay experience. Littleton is really a nice town to visit however.

We booked the 1 bedroom, king and 2 twin beds. It was clean and comfortable and came with complimentary breakfast (coffee, pastries, cereals, yogurt, fruit cups and many more).

My expectations were low. It’s like going to a movie you think will be a stinker and it actually turns out to be good. This place was so much fun. It’s near 200-years old and you can tell in a few places. The floors are horribly out of level. They are like a rolling hill and from max to min, I would guess 18inches. But when you realize you are staying in a hotel that four Presidents including Grant slept in, those crazy floors just make it real. It was clean, comfortable. The staff was very friendly, especially the person who checked us in. I came back to the desk and she was helping some people who appeared to have used a scam site to book and they were happy, because she was putting in effort to help them. So, set your expectations low, just so you can be pleasantly surprised.

I was very disappointed when we got there. I first walked in and felt like I was going to fall through the floor. I do not think this was worth the amount that we had to pay for 2 nights. The town is a cute town with everything you need within walking distance which was nice. When greeted we were advised not to leave bathroom door open if showering as the steam will set off the fire alarms, and where it is an older building, we may have to wait in between showers. With my family of 4 and a busy schedule this was very inconvenient. Not to mention one of our rooms the bathroom did not even have a light in it so they had to use the light on their cell phone to take a shower to be able to see since the door couldn't be left open to get any light in there because we did not want to set off the alarms. The continental breakfast was nice, but they didn't open till 8 which I feel like is super late in the morning especially if you have plans. The beds were comfortable, but pillows were definitely not! I was definitely very disappointed in the stay especially for the cost!!

New England charm in Littleton

Charming hotel with a colonial New England vibe - wood floors, beds under the eaves (we were on the top floor so that is probably not the case on the lower floors), window air conditioners rather than central air (they worked fine). The beds were comfortable, the bathroom tiny but adequately stocked, the self-serve continental breakfast average, the parking free. Take note - there is NO ELEVATOR, so if you have trouble with stairs, maybe ask for a room on a lower floor - or view it as PT/exercise! The staff was friendly and accommodating. There are several restaurants and a cute Tapas bar next to the side entrance of the hotel.

It was fine. It was the most affordable option for a last-minute trip. The room we stayed in didn't quite match what was described, including a bathroom and kitchen area separating the two bedrooms. It was worn down with things missing from walls and things not cleaned thoroughly. The staff we interacted with were friendly. But, again, not the end of the world given the cost.

Safety is important to me. One thing to flag (especially for young families) that was new to us was that there is no on-site support overnight. Everyone goes home.

In the middle of the night, there was a man who was trying to get in to the room where my kids were staying (both of our rooms had seperate doors but the room was only accessible through the door with the kitchen area). We were all a bit startled and because we were seperated by a kitchen area and bathroom and it took me a minute to jump into action. They were a bit startled by the experience. The doors could easily be broken through with a little force as it's an old building.

Quaint historic hotel with small clean rooms. But the shower is less than ideal. Imagine someone pouring a watering can on you while you’re washing up. Almost zero water pressure. The advertisement that they have “breakfast” is entirely true. On the receipt it claims breakfast is a grab & go option worth $7. So be prepared.

The place was great. It gave us space to stay for the night before we went to Santa’s Village. This was a clean location and room were nice and cool. It also was next to some really nice restaurants. Try out Shilling Beer Company for some great wood fired pizza and Crumb Bum Bakery in the morning for great coffee and fantastic homemade baked goods.

The was great with the exception of the check in, the front desk person was sitting in her office and after 10 minutes of waiting she finally came out and asked if I needed anything, I said I was trying to check in and she mubbled some things then said it looks like you’re not ready and went back in the office and closed the door. About a half hour later a nice gentleman came by and asked if we had been helped (at this point there were others who needed to check in as well), I explained what happened and he went in the office and got the staff member out to check us in. Other than that the stay was great, cute room, great location! If it wasn’t for that one staff member it would have been a 5 star stay!

Perfect for those looking for old-world charm in the beautiful town of Littleton. This was exactly what we’d hoped for in a building on the National Register of Historic Places. Lots of character, quirks, and an interesting history. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning kept us very cool on a 95 degree day!

Location was great, walkable to Main Street stores/restaurants. Room was small, bathroom (Shower and toilet) was so small that practically unusable. No elevator so getting baggage to room was dangerous using the stairs. Plays up being a historic site, but for the price was not worth that distinction. We checked out a day early because we couldn’t stand it any longer (gave up our 3rd night room fee).
