I was made to pay an extra 10€ for early checkin. I wasn’t allowed to keep my bag in the bag while I take a walk around the city to await my check in time. It was terrible and I felt bad in the way and manner I was made to pay the money.

The positives about this property were that its close to the airport.
The front desk staff was unprofessional and lie to us. At our arrival at 3pm we were told to put in our key in the room and the heater would turn 30 minutes later which it didn't happen until 5 pm. The room was freezing cold and humid. There was a small window to see outside but it was high to the ceiling that you can't even reach. No breakfast, WIFI only in your floor, very noisy. you could hear different conversations from the rooms next to us. The next day the hotel turns off the heater by 12 pm without a warning for us to plan our showers around that. We ask and they say they will turn it on at 5pm. My son goes and ask again at 5:45 and my son says he sees the desk guy input something in the computer and when he goes to the room the heater turns on. Mind you that the heater fan was making a very loud noise all night and day but seing the quality of the entire hotel and their lack for service to their customers it was no surprise. I went to ask for something and the desk guy semmed to be in a personal conversation so I had to wait until he finished so I could bring one of my concerns. Last, were the beds that you could feel the coils that reinforce the bed. It was the worse hotel in my entire life and would never recommend it even if they pay me to stay there. Im not sure if I can post the video of the loud heater but I will try.

The staff was really friendly and professional and the bed was quite comfy. The hotel is fine for sleeping and very close to transport for Venice and nice breakfast places.
The room and hotel were quite basic and old. I was expecting at least the standard toiletries but there were just some samples. There were several staines in the furniture, curtains and bedspread. Inside the elevator there were some unsavoury graffiti.

Ducale: Honest review

The best part of the hotel is the proximity to airport and east access to public transport. The staff were courteous but the place needs serious sprucing up in the lobby and needs to be much cleaner. Venice in general is ridiculously expensive and this property follows the trend, only if it can offer value in return.

The neighborhood can be quite noisy during weekends but quieter during other times.

This was one of the worst places I have booked, it is no where close to an any star let alone 3 star! It shouldn’t even remain open considering the condition of the premises. It was infested with bedbugs and cockroaches! It smelled like dead fish market, and the receptionist was extremely rude! I found a 4 star hotel 8 mins away for the same price! Do not book this hotel at ANY COST!! Worst experience ever! We did not end up staying the night and were not refunded and the guy started to threaten us!!

There was no soap in the bathroom so I had to dig out some shampoo I had packed, and the room curtain never fully closed despite me tucking it behind a shelf. The service was pleasant enough and they called me a taxi that didn't price gouge me for an airport ride at 3am. Good for a budget one night stay but I wouldn't go there for anything longer!

Convenient Location

This is a basic no frills dated hotel managed by a skeleton staff. It is very conveniently located to visit Venice on the T1 tram stop right next to the hotel and bus 45 from at the same stop that connects to Marco Polo airport. There are plenty of cafes for breakfast and drinks with one attached to the hotel. The only restaurant- Da Piero - is excellent place to eat- just five minutes walk from hotel.

The price listed what I paid the day before on Expedia, he said pay him more, he then called his wife over and they adjusted the price on Expedia to more than what he was offering. We asked why he changed it he said because he the boss, after few words he spit at us and cuss at us. Such a traumatic experience and on top the property looks nothing like it’s pictures and very dirty

Totally terrible customer service, the owner is a shameless utterly greedy person who charges us €30 Euro Extra for coming few hours before check-in time. Room floor and toilet are dirty after constant requests no one bother to come and honour my request. Heating shut down from the reception at 8am in the morning left the shivers for the morning as outside temperature was 0 degree celcious. Reception guys are keep lying to us and very unprofessional. One word for this hotel just avoid avoid avoid, get something better for your hard earn cash.

This hotel was absolutely disgusting to stay in. We arrived early before check in and the owner charged us an extra 10 EURO to get into our room 30 minutes early before the 3pm check in time even though the room was ready. They hardly spoke any English which made it very difficult to communicate. Once we got into our room it was filthy and very unclean. Our door did not lock properly so it made us feel very unsafe. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

We had to wait over 15 minutes to get to talk to the receptionist as he was rude talked to his friends Filled the lobby fridge and ignored my wife and I standing.
The shower was so dirty and disgusting that neither my wife or I showered in the morning. The TV was useless and the room safe was broken and not working.

This hotel is located well near to airport and good transport links into Venice (about 30 mins on Tram) and also centre of Mestre (roughly 10/15 mins on Tram)
Very dated interior but was clean.
Had room in front of hotel which was very noisy up to about midnight and then very early in morning as on main road and can hear traffic.

The front desk resorption worker was so rude. I saw lots of dust, I asked if the room is clean, he started insulting me saying that I am the dust, If I need I can clean it. We immediately left because he was yelling and it was scary. We left to a other hotel right away.

Dreadful attitude of reception staff upon arrival, no empathy or willing to honour my booking that they cancelled, due to Expedia not sharing my updated card details. Way overpriced for what we got €200 for 1 night.
Our rooms weren’t ready so waited in the lobby, no toilet roll, hand soap, paper towels or a hand dryer working in the toilet just off reception area. Dining area was covered in folded laundry all over the tables so assumed no food was available not that we would’ve ate there as reception and lobby area looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. Lift not working but staff took our luggage up to the 2nd floor.
Rooms were okay but pillow very hard. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located really near bus station. There is restaurant and bar just around the corner. The cleanines of hotel was terrible. Spider net and dust every where. And the rum was really tiny and chaby.
The personal are friendly. The breakfast's serving a time was excellent but it wasn't never ready on time 07:00-09:30.

Easily the worst place we stayed in Italy. Staff were lovely and helpful but the hotel was terrible. Wifi didn’t work in the room. Room was NOT a double at all- so small. Could hear everything in the hallways. There were ants and mosquitos in our room, and no fridge!

Perfect stop over for Venice

An excellent hotel, we spent two nights here, giving us a day in Venice. The tram to Venice passes right outside the front door! The room was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The staff were friendly and spoke good English. Breakfast was included and was very good. Just around the corner is a pizzeria with an award winning chef.

Bathrooms Need Attention

The room was dark and musty. The bathroom was horrendous. Black mold and mildew throughout, cracked tile, and a very awkward half shower door that allowed water to flood the bathroom floor. Didn't bother with the free breakfast, looked unappetizing. On the plus, the reception clerk was friendly. The operator of the restaurant was also very pleasant.

Make shame to my friend.

So old, look a like never replace inside a room. Travel to there in summer,very hot weather. But AC fixed to 27C, when turn on the AC, automatically off after 2-3mins.
Also my friend’s family eating the breakfast,let use the dish one per person.
Only nicest person is Anna who is receptionist. She is very kind & helpful.

Disappointing stay near Venice airport.

Chose Ducale because it is close to Marco Polo airport for our morning flight back to US. It advertised 24 hour shuttle to airport, and the price was under $100 per room. Booked 2 double rooms. When we arrived, we were told that the airport shuttle was out of service. Booked a taxi instead. Old hotel, needs major renovations. Of the 2 rooms, one was barely tolerable, the other was dark and depressing. Both were small, stark, with 21 inch wall mounted (near the ceiling) TVs that required binoculars to see the screen. In one room, the window lock was broken, and there were ants in the bathroom. TV remotes worked sometimes. AC difficult to use. The woman at the front desk was nice and sympathetic to our complaints, but the poor condition of the rooms was beyond her control. Stay included a continental breakfast, which was just ok. Generally speaking, an unpleasant experience.

Smelled like cigarettes

When we checked-in to our room it was already 7 -8 pm. As soon as we walked to our room it smelled like cigarettes , like someone was smoking right before us. We had to spray a lot of parfumerie to try to get rid of the smell. It took us nearly two hours to make it smell decent.

Also the room was very tiny and dim. There was not enough light at all.
The shower was very tiny as well and the door was hard to close.

Price was reasonable, shuttle to airport was efficient. The pictures don't tell the whole story though. In fact they are plain incorrect.
The view from our room (302) was the side of some kind of storage or utility container, absolutely nothing to see. This also made the room very dark during daylight hours and the entrance lights are on a timer so unpacking your stuff is an exercise in frustration.
The picture of the dining area on Expedia shows an nice buffet with fresh fruit, an appetizing plate of ham and slicer and so forth. The actual dining experience is quite different, with canned fruit, a selection of \"cheaper\" meats, possibly day old hard-boiled eggs (very difficult to separate shells, hence probably not super fresh). This was very disappointing as we were looking forward to a nice breakfast based on the published images.
The shower stall does not close properly in that room, make sure you place a mat on the floor in front of it. There is a bit of mold on the ceiling above the shower and the entire room looks like it could use some refreshing. We also found some kind of foam on the floor, didn't bother trying to find out more about that.
