The common areas and photographed sections of the hotel were very beautiful however the rooms were very basic and in need of some TLC. The service around the bar area was very poor with guests obviously inconveniencing the staff. We found some elements of the staff attitude strange. I phoned to ask for additional pillows and was just told no. We were told we were not allowed to park in front of the hotel despite other cars being there and a car parked for the duration on the space we had been asked to be vacate. We felt we just hadn’t been a premium enough customer.

The location is ok if you are prepared to walk some way to reach key areas. The breakfast was very poor with very few options. The dining room is quite stuffy and looks like it’s set up for events more than guests.

Overall we enjoyed our stay in the area and we found the hotel manageable however spent most of our time away from the facility.

The beds were terribly uncomfortable, the mattresses and pillows were thin. The air conditioning turned when you left the room and took a long time to cool down. Room had a terrible strong citrus cleaner smell. The shower was tiny. The pool was the best selling feature!

Overall the four night stay was pleasant with clean bedrooms but it was a bit outdated. The hotel indoor pool is overpriced and extras are expensive (cost for towels, spa, beach etc.)

Hotel Room - Decent sized room and plenty of wardrobe space for the stay. A good balcony but the toilet didn’t have a window. Unfortunately the room didn’t have a kettle with tea and coffee. There is no iron available at the hotel which is a shame.

Food - Breakfast buffet had lots of sweet and savoury options which were topped up regularly. Plenty of table space and reserved the table for the whole stay. Dinner set menu options made ordering easy and had a wide range of wine choices as well.

Pool facilities - The outdoor pool was clean, had outdoor toilets and plenty of sun loungers for the group. The deep end of pool is 3.4m and shallow end 1.2m, not suitable for children.

Atmosphere - I would not recommend young people stay at the hotel as it’s quiet and the town doesn’t have much to do either. It’s a very busy hotel but mainly retirement age people staying there on a package holiday. There were two weddings during the stay which the hotel could have explained during check in as there was loud music until 1am.

Location - The hotel is close to other bars and restaurants which is great for lunchtime options. The beach is nearby, a supermarket is nearby and there’s a few shops within 10 min walk as well. The hotel is secure and has lots of gates as well as a safe in each hotel room.

Cool hotel, a bit away from the main part of Nexos but still enough around.. I was there for a work trip and it was pretty stress free. The staff were amazing, definitely one of the more standout aspects of the stay at this hotel. I had a car and it was pretty straightforward parking.

There is no doubt that this place is chique. The grounds are beautiful once you get past the gate and the feel is definitely upscale. We were only there for one night before heading in to Taormina (about a 10 minute drive, so know you wont be walking there). There are plenty of places you can walk to and onsite food. The menu looks pretentious with a one-price for 3 courses setup, though the food was fairly average tasting and didn't reflect the sicilian culture much. It wasn't clear as to where some of the ammenities were (primarily i missed out on the hot tub that was part of the reason I chise this place). The pool and pool area was gorgeous. The room was comfortable. Overall, a pleasant and beautiful experience. Just make sure to ask questions, because information isn't necessarily readily available

We booked this hotel for one night due to the large swimming pool and on this it delivered.

Rooms are now rather dated although communal areas appear to have been modernised.

We didn’t like been charged to use a pool towel so if you are planning to visit then take your own

Several restaurants within a few minutes walk.

Food at breakfast was typical for Sicily.

Would be suitable for an older couple or couple who want a quiet break not really suitable for us with a young baby and almost 3 yr old as they had no baby pool,. We were on the 3rd floor and the maid service was exceptional, she worked every day we were there and our room was always left spotless. Good bar service at the pool, we had a lovely stay would definitely recommend.

A nice hotel with great food

Arrived outside hotel in taxi but the taxi driver didn't realise he could get closer to the hotel entrance. The owner (on his way out for coffee) stopped to help us get our kids and luggage into the hotel. He then arranged for some cake and wine to be sent to our room. Wow! Fantastic service and made us feel valued.

Food in the evening is superb (compliments to the chefs). The only thing I'd say in the spirit of feedback is that the hotel could probably make the dining experience slightly less formal as there seem to be a lot of families staying. Great to keep the standards high but also good to understand your core market. That said, waiting staff are excellent and service runs like clockwork!

Rooms are very basic but very clean.

Pool is great, very deep and shallow space for kids is really limited.

Short walk to the hotel's private beach (couple of minutes) but typically for Sicily they charge for sunbeds (even though the beach is owned by the hotel).

Outside space immaculate, trees, flowers etc stunning.

Overall a great stay and would certainly go back.

This was an amazing place to stay, peaceful, stylish, friendly staff, clean and a 15 min walk away from the busy tourist area of Giardini Naxos. There was always sun beds available by the beautiful and quiet pool area, with no evening entertainment which you don’t need in a place like this. The pool closed for swimming at 7pm which we found just a little early. Perfect for a family of four, a short walk to a not too busy beach and great local restaurants and grocery stores, free WiFi and easy to find parking on the street, at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was good but did miss some bacon. Sun beds on the beach expensive so didn’t use those.
So glad we stayed here, a perfect, relaxing week. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Good size room i had a sea view room .value for my money but i had to pay for inside pool and spa and parking which I prefer not to . But with the money i paid it was good and was far from airport it was costly to go to hotel .

Old grand dame resort hotel.

The hotel was a good value and the rooms were comfortable. We knew that we were not in Taormina itself, but still, the location is pretty bad - you cannot walk anywhere. Driving to Taormina and parking there is easy, though. The hotel caters to large groups and the restaurant has the feel of a cruise ship. They sit non-group members off to one side, but you still can't avoid the groups, which on more than one occasion were making speeches and toasts. You cannot eat at the bar. It's a huge place so it's hard to understand why they don't set aside a room for diners who are not part of the groups.
There is a nice pool and lovely gardens. The buffet breakfast was good.

Beautiful family owned hotel

My family and I were visiting Sicily on a tour. This was the best hotel of all that we stayed in. Great location. Family owned. The owner walked around meeting guests and making sure they were enjoying their stay. Balconies had view of either mountain, water and or pool. Grounds were beautiful. Many gardens. Well maintained. We definitely would go back to Sicily and stay at this hotel.

It was not really what i was expecting from a four star hotel in Sicily, insofar that who on earth pays for wifi any more? It's a little bit tight to charge 3 euros an hour for wifi. Especially as we were there for 2 weeks. Also the decor of the room was quite dated, especially the tiny square TV with 17 channels. But nevertheless, the pool was quite nice, as was the 3 minute walking distance from the beach.
The breakfast was ok, but I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness of the room. It was very clean, and I was particularly impressed with our cleaner Roxana, who was not only efficient, but extremely polite. This was also the case with Mohammed at the front desk.

All in all, it was okay. Again, not what you would expect from a four star hotel, but not a bad trip by all means.

Expensive for average hotel with poor service

This hotel is ok but no better than ok. Facilities appear good in publicity, including photos scrolling on reception. The problem is that almost everything incurs an extra charge. No parking on site, have to risk parking in no parking zone with threatened tow penalty or quite a walk away in a not very pleasant or safe looking location. Wi-fi extra cost per day per device. Indoor pool, nice facility when it's raining - 32 euro extra charge! No hot water 2 evenings of the 4 we stayed. Reception staff unhelpful. All unacceptable considering high room rate we had paid. On the positive, location is quite good, public areas of hotel are nicely presented. It's an expensive part of the island, but I expect better for the cost. We would not return.

This nice, comfortable hotel, is not set in the nicest part of town, or near the best beach. The staff are all courteous and helpful, and considering Italians don't do breakfast, that was also OK. Bus stop for service bus to Taormina and excursions, conveniently close. Unwelcome charge of €8 for use of Spa.

We actually thought the location of this hotel was excellent. Less then 5 min walking distance to the nicer restuarants in giardini naxos, easy access to san alphio beach (extra surcharge, not included in room rate) and practically right beside regular bus (3 euro return until 1.30 am) to taormina with etna transport company. The pool area, flowers, veiw from our balcony of taormina and the possibility to see etna spewing larvae were also excellent. The owner also seemed very nice. No problems with breakfast in terms of convenience Downside: mattress rock hard, tv very old, breakfast just OK, stale croissants/bread every morning, tinned fruit and juices etc (but the eggs were nice). Wifi was available but you had to pay a hefty surcharge which is pretty disgraceful in these times. Didn't have dinner in hotel, seems very very (VERY) formal and there are lots of nice places with great views nearby and also directly on the beach. T

Hotel close to beach with nice pool area

We stayed 14 nights bed and breakfast at the Sant Alphio and enjoyed our stay. We're a married couple in our 60s. We got the bus from the airport (get off at Recanati), which runs every hour, took an hour, and cost 7.90 euros per person vs 80-100 euros for a taxi. It was convenient for local buses and to arrange trips to etc Agrigento and Siracusa. The room was comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fine, but the only warm food was scrambled eggs and they weren't that great. We ate out each night because the hotel evening meal was 35 euros and three/four courses and we didn't want to pay that much or eat that much. Mixed reports as to the evening meal quality, some said it was very good, others said it was a bit like school dinners.
Wifi was charged at 5 euros a day, or 3 euros for an hour. We thought this was nickel and diming, and felt it should have been free.
But overall we would go there again.

the hotel stuff is very unpleasant. this hotel is classified as a 4 star but I think is only worth 2 stars. no wireless in the room , wire less in the lobby but you need to pay for it. very poor service. room fridge empty, no tooth brush , no glass, not enough soap and shampoo, NO ENTERTAINMENT. I WOULD NEVER GO BACK. outside lights switched off in the evening.
HONESTLY NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL.

Fabulous grounds but very unhelpuful staff

We were pleased with the view from the balcony of our room - Mt. Etna and the Ionian Sea (the sea view partially impeded by larger hotels in front). The rooms at the back of the hotel do not have any sort of view. The grounds of the St. Alphio are beautiful and we spent time enjoying the lovely pool. There are signs of age in the rooms (leaking faucets, etc) but it was quiet and the balcony made up for any lack of updates.
Our biggest complaint was the very unhelpful front desk staff. We learned to expect them to be too busy to even look up when we approached. Their answers were terse at best, blatantly rude at worst.
The one exception was the very helpful and always friendly bartender at the pool.
Also, there are some hidden costs: Hefty cost per person for use of the indoor pool, and a charge for towels for pool use. Also, the pool closes daily at 7pm which we didn't expect in summer.
By Car: there are only five parking spaces on the hotel grounds, but it is a short walk down the driveway (down hill) to the other car park.
All in all, not a bad option for exploring Taormina, Mt. Etna and the surrounding area.

Schlimm ist untertrieben

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis inakzeptabel. Das Hotel war der letzte Aufenthalt nach längerer Tour über die Insel. Das mit Abstand schlechteste Hotel der Reise!
Die Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption waren super freundlich. Das war es aber auch schon.
Ausstattung und Ambiente seit den 80er Jahren nicht modernisiert oder renoviert. Zimmer wurden jeden Tag gereinigt - auch die Handtücher gewechselt - der Umweltgedanke kam hier noch nicht an! Der abartige und sehr penetrante Zitronenduft in den Zimmern ist kaum auszuhalten! Das Frühstück war unappetitlich angerichtet und der „Kaffee“, wenn man das Gesöff in Italien überhaupt so nennen darf, kam aus einer Instant- Maschine, furchtbar. Der sogenannte Spa-Bereich (kleiner indoor-Pool und eine alte kleine Sauna) kostet 12€ p. P. und Tag extra. Der Außenpool ist ab dem frühen Nachmittag im Schatten. Die Liegen am privaten Strand kosten ebenfalls zusätzlich 15€ proTag, möchte man sich ein Handtuch zum Strand mitnehmen, kostet es ebenfalls pro Handtuch und Tag 1€.
Die Frage nach dem Late-checkout hat dann den Eindruck komplett abgerundet, hier wären für 3h späteres Auschecken in der Nebensaison (Oktober!) weitere 70€ fällig gewesen! Während unseres Aufenthaltes war das Hotel voll mit englischen und amerikanischen Rentnern wohl über eine Reisegesellschaft, das passte zum Ambiente.
Zusammenfassend ist zu sagen, wir würden dieses Hotel weder empfehlen noch jemals wieder hier her kommen.

Fint hotel som klart kan anbefales. Fantastisk pool samt poolområde, med masser af solsenge og hyggelig bar. Personalet var meget venlige og hjælpsomme. Morgenmaden var middel. Maden i restauranten var ikke noget at råbe hurra for. Vi spiste der en aften og det var nok. Pizzaerne ved poolen var til gengæld virkelig gode. Hotellet ligger med kort afstand til strand, restauranter og lille købmand. Vi vender gerne tilbage.

Bra poolområde men tråkiga rum och torftig frukost

Allmänt kan man väl säga att hotellet sett sina glansdagar, lite slitet och bedagat. Inte fyrstjärnigt, snarare trestjärnigt. Matchade inte förväntningarna med tanke på priset.

Plus:
- Fint poolområde med poolbar. Djup pool. Inte alls mycket folk när vi var där i månadsskiftet juni/juli.
- Städningen bra.
- Balkong med utsikt mot havet och en glimt av Etna. Vårt resesällskap hade fin utsikt mot Taormina och Castelmola.
- AC på rummet (ett måste)
- Nära till stranden och restauranger

Minus:
- Kassa sängar, stenhårda. Och jag brukar inte klaga på sängar i första taget. Som en stenhård bäddsoffa typ. Tråkigt inredda rum.
- Frukosten var inte bra. Kaffet var närmast odrickbart, jag övergick till te istället. Kalla överkokta ägg. Inte mycket färsk frukt, mest konserverade persikor mm, annars lite päron, apelsin,plommon men omogna mestadels. Det fanns inte heller någon uteservering så man var tvungen att sitta inne på frukosten.
- Ingen vattenkokare på rummet.

Tips och råd:
- Vill man hyra parasoll på stranden kostar det 15€ per dag, så bättre köpa ett eget parasoll för 10€.
- Passa er för maneterna, de bränner rejält och efterlämnade brännskador.
- Badskor är att rekommendera. Behövs även vid Isola Bella (Taormina)
- Bästa restaurangerna hittade vi på huvudstråket nära hotellet. La Spelonca och Café Sikelia rekommenderas varmt, bra mat, service och prisnivå. Håll er borta från restaurangerna vid Naxosstranden, 20% dyrare och sämre mat!
- Besök Taormina, fantastiskt fint!

Helt greit sted for 5 netter. Noe slitt her og der. Grei frokost hvis du ikke er for kresen. Rommet lå mot bassenget, så vart fint å sitte på balkongen på kvelden. Spiste ikke på restauranten inne, kun en gang lunsj ved bassengrestauranten. Der var det mye surr med bestilling og det tok lang tid før vi fikk maten.
Området rundt var veldig turistpreget, men nok av spisesteder. Noen av dem hadde elendig service når det var fullt med gjester. Hotellet har egne plasser på stranda med strandstoler, men der var vi ikke.

Posizione eccellente per la vicinanza alle spiagge e situato al centro di Giardini Naxos, ottima la struttura, personale molto gentile e disponibile. Il direttore premuroso, gentile ma soprattutto attento alle esigenze del cliente. Ci tornerei un'altra volta sicuramente.

Het is een prachtige plek, maar als ze iets meer aan onderhoud doen dan was het super.
Het personeel van de civiele dienst waren super aardig en vriendelijk, zo ook bij het ontbijt.
Het resort zou ik zeker aanraden bij de vrienden en bekenden.

Het zou leuk zijn melding te maken dat er een overwegend ouder publiek in het hotel logeert en dat er ‘s avonds luidruchtige groepen het restaurants bevolken, en dit waarschijnlijk ouderen die van een cruises even van boord gaan.

Locatie dicht bij zee, Taormina en Etna, alsook de bushalte. Uitstekende locatie als onderdeel van een rondreis door Sicilië. Spa faciliteit is goed en goedkoop (10€/pp/d), een opkikker na bezoek aan de Etna. Hotel is uitgerust voor ontvagen va busreizigers. nadeel is dat als een groep met de bus vertrekt om 7u00 het ganse hotel wakker is.

Hôtel correct mais qui aurait besoin d’un coup de fraîcheur même si tout est bien entretenu. Parking à 10€, accès à la piscine intérieure et spa à 10€ par personne, Check out tardif à 70€, tout est bon pour essayer de faire payer des extras. La plage, à proximité, est bordée d’immeubles Lépreux pas très ragoûtants ... Mais la piscine extérieure est très agréable, le jardin aussi et le personnel très serviable

Siamo una famiglia di 4 persone e abbiamo deciso di soggiornare per il weekend di Pasqua e Pasquetta in questo hotel, prenotando un pacchetto di pensione completa e spa inclusa. Un po’ titubanti all’inizio per via di alcune recensioni negative, abbiamo avuto una bellissima sorpresa. Hotel molto elegante, camere sempre pulite, personale cortese e pronto a soddisfare ogni nostra richiesta (anche l’immediata sostituzione del soffione doccia, per praticità), cibo ottimo e variegato. Che dire: ci torneremo presto.

Beautiful hotel with nice pool

Beautiful hotel, with nice and relativ quiet pool area. Cool detail with the in-pool-bar.

Nice and clean bathroom, and very effective air condition. Only negative is the quite hard and a little unconfortable beds, but not worse than everywhere else in southern Europe.

Io ed il mio fidanzata abbiamo trascorso una sola notte in questo hotel; la struttura si trova a Giardini Naxos, a pochi km da Taormina, ed è la zona ideale per soggiornare se si ha una macchina, in quanto ha a disposizione un parcheggio interno (non molto grande a dire il vero) ed una zona di sosta appena fuori.
Nel complesso ci siamo trovati bene, l'hotel è molto grande, pulito, il personale è gentile, e si ha la possibilità di sfruttare sia la piscina che la spiaggia. Quest'ultima si trova a 200 mt dal l'hotel al costo di 10€ a postazione (2 lettini ed un ombrellone).
La nostra camera era al terzo piano vista mare, abbastanza spaziosa è molto pulita, dall'arredamento non modernissimo ma assolutamente curato e di gusto.
L'unica cosa da migliorare a mio parere è la colazione: abbondante ma non molto varia, in quanto consistente essenzialmente in cornetti e qualcosa di salato.
Al di là di ciò, consigliato.

Hotel da 1 stella, non da 4!!! C erano le formiche che passeggiavano tranquillamente per la stanza e ce le siamo ritrovate anche nel cuscino, in più, cosa assurda che ci è successa.. è che mentre eravamo in intimità con mio marito, quindi eravamo nudi, la cameriera si è permessa di aprirci la stanza. Ma porca miseria, un Po di privacy no? L unica cosa positiva di quel posto è il centro benessere, anche se l acqua della piscina dovrebbe essere un Po più calda. Riguardo alla colazione, beh.. i prodotti leggermente più freschi, i dolci erano immangiabi e duri!

Ottimo hotel in tutto il suo contesto,lo consiglio a tutti qualunque sia la ragione del soggiorno a Giardini Naxos,in quest'hotel si sta veramente bene.Ottima la colazione e il ristorante.Camere e bagni da rinnovare perchè troppo datati.Bellissima la SPA ma attenzione:estetista mancante!

Hotel molto bello,facile da raggiungere,giardini incantevoli e curatissimi.Ottima,anzi, eccellente la colazione così come il ristorante.Tutto il personale dell'hotel estremamente gentile e professionale.La SPA meravigliosa con le sue piscine,una delle quali idromassaggio,peccato non aver potuto usufruire della suddetta per assenza di estetiste......e qui mi fermo!E pensare che ho scelto quest'hotel proprio per la SPA.Consiglierei,a chi di dovere,di rinnovare le camere e i bagni,sono assolutamente troppo,troppo datati.Comunque è stato un bellissimo soggiorno,lo consiglio a tutti,noi ci torneremo sicuramente,spero molto presto e,la prossima volta,mi auguro di trovare le estetiste!!!
