The staff was very nice but the rooms left a lot to be desired! The rooms are on both sides of the street, ours just happened to be facing the actual hotel front door. The problem is everytime someone comes back from partying they got dropped off right in front of our room, and if anybody has been to New Orleans knows that is all night so we didn’t get much sleep for 2 nights. It gets an average rating just because of the friendly staff. The horse drawn carriages going by the room at night was kind of cool.

Pros: classic New Orleans charm, clean pools and coffee in the morning in lobby. Most of the Hotel workers were really wonderful and accommodating. Jazz music in the lobby. Rooms were spacious.
Cons: if I knew it was a smoking allowed outside on patios I would have booked somewhere else. Rooms on the street could be loud and bright the smell of smoke was in our room. We couldn’t figure out why. Bathroom needed some tlc but hot water was great.
Close to everything but far enough to not be in the thick of it.

Room had 3 issues. First there was a broken light switch with some tape and my wife just went to turn on without really looking and it cut her finger, not bad but enough to be aggravating for a couple of days. 2nd we got there kind of late, around 10pm and the tv didn’t work. Determined no power to it from extension cord coming literally out of the wall. By the way cheap low grade cord. 3rd and least of as the trickle shower but it was hot. I gave an ok rating because we were only there 10hrs and the location was good. Also as many of the quarter hotels it has a bit of a musty smell.

The rooms are incredibly old; so, there are the issues that come from that. Otherwise, the staff was incredibly friendly even after having just survived the onslaught of Mardi Gras, the location was the best, and everything felt safe!

The staff are the shining highlight of our stay here. Staff were very courteous and helpful. We had to switch rooms because our original room did not have blinds over the windows on the door, and they accommodated that quickly. We also enjoyed the two cats hanging out by the pool.

Fantastic location. Very close to all of the excitement on Bourbon Street, but far enough away to be quiet. Quaint, historic details, not a cookie cutter chain. This hotel captures the vibe of the city. Our room was small, but spotless, and the hotel rings a nice courtyard with a private pool and resident cats 🙂

Our room was spacious and beautiful but the windows were paper thin, and there are a lot of areas that need immediate attention. our room was right on the road and we could hear every noise and lots of slams and people yelling. The bed was a king size but the mattress was so thin and hard I had to sleep on the couch. The staff was amazing and very attentive and its a great location but unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel.

The staff was so nice here!!! Everyone was helpful and had personality! The room itself was OLD and basic. If you are just looking for a place to rest your tired legs and brain after doing some running around this place is great. If you are looking for a vintage luxury experience I would keep looking. The towels were dingy, they were clean but not the brightest white. You can tell they try to give you a good experience but the maintenance of the building needs work. It’s old and dated. Similar quality of a motel 6 or quality inn. It’s noisey but all of the french quarter is noisy so that is what it is.
We stayed in room 216 across the street from the lobby. That was nice because it was downstairs and had a semi closed area so we could keep a close eye on our little pup who joined us on our trip, but also a bit noisey cause it’s right by the hall everyone needs to pass to exit through a gate that slams shut every time anyone enters or exits. They had coffee in the lobby every morning and everyone was so positive and friendly our entire stay. Very welcoming. If it wasn’t for the incredible staff this hotel wouldn’t have been given the 3 stars. Keep all those people!

The biggest issue was there was no heat. Our room got down to 50. Despite reporting it multiple times, it was never resolved during our 3 night stay. They didn't have blankets (quite the problem if there's no heat and it's below freezing outside).

Additionally, we had a roach in our bathroom, someone's leftover washcloth left in the bathroom (from previous person), and gum stuck to the headboard. No housekeeping services the whole time we were there.

I really think Expedia should stop offering this hotel as part of its packages.

It's an old hotel and very charming, but it was like camping without the proper gear.

Let’s see where to start about my stay at this hotel. For starters we had no hot water, no water pressure nor a showerhead! Was told manger wouldn’t be in until Sunday to fix the issue. So no I did not enjoy my stay and will never book here again. Yet alone it was freezing in the rooms as well

Issue with parking due to the fact the hotel is technically a “commercial residential” stay on property. You shouldn’t have to worry about waking up to a parking ticket .. And when advised by a staff member who moves their vehicle and advise you that space is a parking option for St Pierre. Along with pesticide spraying needed due to guest bitten in several places on body by a bedbug or possible spider. And areas now itching and swollen.

The room was clean. The bed was just right for a good nights sleep. It was way too cold to get in the pool, but it was clean. Staff were awesome. There was a glitch with the heating in my initial room, which they resolved quickly by moving me to at different room. The staff made the environment feel like a warm welcoming community. The location is perfect. Put on your walking shoes and hit it!

Check-in was easy and they were very accommodating our late arrival. The room was clean and bug free. Other than the occasional other occupant walking around at night, the stay was relatively quiet. In terms of everything else it was lackluster. The door was a quarter inch too small for the frame so a constant bright halo flooded into the room at night. Hot water pressure was nonexistent from the sink, the water was frigid no matter what. The ambient temperature was 50 degrees and the heater/AC unit only sent out cold air which was not ideal when it was 40 degrees outside. The toilet did not automatically refill and required me to remove the tank cover and kick start the process. Check-out was quick and easy.

This property is not safe for solo female travelers.

I was placed in the “residences” across the street from the main hotel, and the experience was deeply concerning. The room I was given had a strong, unpleasant odor that smelled like water damage or animal urine, making it feel unsanitary and poorly maintained.

More importantly, the security on that side of the property was inadequate. The gated entrance that is supposed to restrict access did not automatically close or lock. During the short time I was there (about one hour), I watched multiple people walk in and out without any access control because the gate was left standing open. Guests had to manually close it, which many did not.
The surrounding area had a noticeable amount of foot traffic from non-guests, including people walking around and drinking, which makes the lack of a secure, self-locking gate especially concerning. The room doors also felt thin and not very secure for a space that is separated from the main hotel.

Because I did not feel safe, I chose to leave and find other accommodations. As a solo female traveler, personal safety should always be a hotel’s top priority. Given the combination of poor room conditions and weak security, I would strongly advise other women traveling alone to avoid this property.

Worst experience dealing with the staff there my wife broke her ankle a week before we were supposed to go and stay there. I contacted them as well as Expedia. Expedia said it was up to the hotel to give approval for a refund and the hotel flat out denied it I tried to reason with the hotel to explain to them that my wife broke her ankle. There’s no way we could go and they had no sympathy at all and just said that was their rule and they wouldn’t give a refund.

This is a beautiful hotel! Staff were wonderful! They do a great job of dealing with the parking crunch in The French Quarter. The pools were nice, the buildings and walkways have an amazing, historic atmosphere which is just what we were looking for! We were within walking distance to all of French Quarter and used the Le Pass app to ride the trolley, bus, and ferry to get around to the further away locations. Highly recommend this hotel!

The street was loud throughout the night so in room 400 none of us slept at all.

Booked this hotel for a quick two night stay to take my two littles (5&6) to the zoo and aquarium and just have a fun thanksgiving. We ended up getting on the road late due to a family pet passing away earlier that day. Otw down to New Orleans I called to let them know my check in time. Was told that was fine but that we’d have to pay for street parking and pay for it through the night because their valet was full and then in the morning we could try and get a valet spot.
Finally got to the hotel and our room was not that clean, and was cold. Heat didn’t work all night and no one at the front desk answered the phone. The next morning when I spoke to the hotel staff about the issue all they offered was to send a space heater to our room. (They said the heat didn’t work in our room)
We checked out and stayed else where for the remainder of our trip.

Everything was great! I would recommend that you install blackout curtains in the room that I stayed in that faces the street. The street light is on all night and the blinds are far from sufficient to dim the brightness. It’s an easy fix! Otherwise, great place, nice people and good location.

Unfortunately, the property was dirty and the sheets in my room weren’t clean…had rodent droppings on it. When I asked to have clean sheets, the front desk said they’d have them changed, but that never happened. And my friend found a large roach in her bathroom on our last night there.

Fire alarm went off at 530 am, and a second time at 6 am. No reason or explanation for.
Toilets in 2 different rooms didn’t work. Had to remove the back and fix them.
Tv in room had to adjust to make work.

Great location! Tired feet? Go back & chill at the off street courtyards or your room. Grabbed some souvenirs or food? Instead of lugging around a bunch of stuff, go back to your room for a drop off. The market nearby had a yummy deli so I loved having a fridge & microwave in the room. The resident cats are also a bonus & adorable.

I would definitely stay here again! The staff is great. When I called, I never had to wait long for staff to answer. I booked two rooms (group girls trip) a couple months in advance and requested they be next to each other. We had our own secluded hallway with just two rooms at the end of it— it was perfect! When we discovered the AC was not working properly, they had someone address it quickly. They were super helpful when we checked out and stored our luggage before we left town later that day. An added bonus is the cute stray cats that roam around the property.

Overall, our stay was good. The area is much quieter than being right off of Bourbon yet still quite walkable. The only things that stick out to me is the cleaning. The tub had other people’s hair still in it when we checked in, and the shower curtain was moldy (although I totally understand that New Orleans is humid, so I’m sure it’s a losing battle).
