The breakfast was really great, everything was fresh, there was plenty of choice and it tasted delicious. The room was very nice and the coffee was excellent. The terrace down by the water is definitely the highlight, it feels like a truly special place on Lake Como. The restaurant is amazing as well, the pizza is on another level and the angioletti with Nutella for dessert were incredible.

This is probably a perfect spot in the summer to enjoy the water. In late September it is quiet and picturesque. A short walk to the ferry, incredible meal at Il Governo and the restaurant at the hotel was also very good. Breakfast is included and is delicious. A nice respite from the bustle of the tourists in the other the towns.

Such a wonderful experience at Aurora. From the staff to the service! so lovely to go right out our door & spend the day on the lake, dock & step right into a restaurant that served great food & drinks! We had a great stay at this boutique hotel. Reception staff were very helpful and attentive. They helped us with booking dinner reservations at restaurants nearby. As a guest, we got lake access at the day beds. Also we got premium seating with the amazing view. The room was clean and breakfast buffet was nice. Highly recommend!

It is situated in Lezzeno, which is lovely, quaint and the hotel is beautiful. Really friendly staff. Restaurant was bistro was good. Pizza is amazing. There is a convenience store close by and a lovely osteria. Not far from taxi boat jetti and bus stops. Only inconvenience is taxi boats aren’t as frequent and you end up arriving back by 6/7 pm. However really lovely and very restful. We had a lake view room, stunning views and great to watch the sunset and sunrise. Hotel guests can also sunbathe on edge of lake if you want to catch a tan in the summer months. Altogether would highly recommend. This was our second stay in Como and first time at the Aurora, close enough to visit, Lenno, Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio etc. bus ride to Bellagio approx 30 mins.

Best place to stay for your Lake Como visit

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Villa Aurora while Lezzeno was our base during our visit to the Lake Como region. The family owned hotel and restaurant have a lovely waterside location and offered top-notch, friendly customer service. There is parking available as well as self service laundry. The food at the restaurant was fabulous - we ate there twice! We highly recommend staying at this property!!

We were in Lezzeno for 3 nights. The hotel was good location. We had an amazing view of the lake with a balcony. It was worth the money. Lots to do for families at the hotel.
Unfortunately if you are looking for nightlife
There is none. After dinner you can hang out at the hotel.

The resort was lovely looking out over the lake. Convenient easy walk to the ferry to visit any towns on the lake. Great restaurant on the property and the breakfast was outstanding with everything you could imagine wanting to be offered. Laundry facilities at the property were very convenient. Beautiful property right on lake Como. We had a room overlooking the lake - beautiful and comfortable accommodations. The restaurant is amazing, also right on the lake. We had lunch and dinner there and the food was excellent. Breakfast in the hotel was included and was very tasty with lots of different options. We took a ferry between different towns of lake Como and it was very convenient. Ferry terminal is only few minutes walk from the hotel, and is a great way to see the towns of lake Como. You can hop on and off the boat, spending time in one town and continuing on without worrying about parking.

Has a restaurant with lounge chairs, free kayaks, trampoline, wetsuits, safety jackets, all right on the lake. This is an authentic town, less touristy, with real locals. It has no sun because its on a hillside 3 months of the year so its workers living here, not many tourists.

A beautiful spot with gorgeous views of the lake and extremely friendly and accommodating staff!

A last minute change to our travel plans meant we arrived later than expected, around the time the kitchen was closing - the staff pre-ordered us a delicious lasagna to ensure we had something for dinner, and helped us get set up in our room for the night. We woke up the next morning to an INCREDIBLE view of the lake, and a wonderful breakfast spread.

A local bike race meant that the main road and ferries were unaccessible to us during our stay, but staff advised us of a lakeside walk and cozy stone beach area just up the road. A bit dangerous to walk on the road with the winding turns and traffic, but once we were down by the lake it was a peaceful walk with more great views to take in.

Food at the restaurant was delicious, and the terrace was beautiful. Only criticism would be that we shared the space with a wakeboarding competition which took up most of the private deck and lounge chairs during our stay, but it did not take away from an overall excellent experience.

When we had trouble getting to our next destination the next day due to more road closures, staff went above and beyond to help get us where we needed to go. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay on the Lake!

The deluxe room with a lake view exceeded expectations. It is worth the price. My wife and I had a garden view style room with a small step ladder to a window which we could walk out onto the sun deck. It was really great.

Breakfast, coffee and drinks were all great. We did not get to eat at the restaurant as all tables were booked out. Good sign it is popular, but unfortunate for us. There is a restaurant down the road that we really enjoyed. Osteria de governa. Great pasta dishes.

6-7 minute walk to ferry and bus stop. Perfect.

Only con is walkability of Lezzeno. There is no sidewalk in the town. Not a problem for us, but be aware. Tight roads all around Lake Como. Not sure the other towns are much better.

We had a very good sleep at Aurora after our long international flight, this accomodation is located in a quite ferry station area without many tourists, we enjoyed our dinner and lunch at famous lake view restaurant where just cross the road, I also added fresh squeezed ginger pear juice in our morning breakfast, all meals tasted from local fresh ingredients, which we are enjoyed a lot. I also love the lake view room, helpful receptionist and the nature amenities from local……, so all in all, I really recommend this accommodation to people love natural quiet Italian country style.

30 min drive from como, located in lezenno. Staff very helpful, easy CheckIn. We got room with lake which was breathtaking. Room was clean, and hotel had very unique history. Saw lot of trophies and medals of Georgina Georgia was Olympic medal winner. Breakfast was really really good, wide selection of different things- fruits, bread, cereal, jams….everything was placed in a boat shaped table. The ristorante had the best Italian food ever. Do make reservation and dine there. Ristorante faves lake como. Definitely coming back

We had the most amazing stay here, the hotel is absolutely idyllic. Great location in the quiet town of Lezzeno but the hotel has plenty of activities with the free kayaks and paddleboards. We stayed in the new building on the 3rd floor and had a stunning view over the lake. Food in the restaurant is amazing - definitely worth a visit. Only thing that we didn't like was the amount of wasps at breakfast!

This is a charming hotel on Lake Como. The staff was so friendly and helpful. It is right on the lake with amazing views. The breakfast was delicious and offered a wide variety of food. The restaurant was very good as well. We enjoyed the deck on the water with chairs and umbrellas, as well as the paddle boards and kayaks that are available to guests. There are opportunities for boat rides around the lake with the staff. Very lovely experience!!

The staff at Villa Aurora were excellent, very friendly and helpful. They upgraded our room so we were right on the waterfront in one of the junior suites. The accommodation was spotless, bed was very comfortable. The main building is an old \"villa\" so it is quirky but has plenty of charm. The restaurant is excellent, good value for money with a good menu and choice of drinks. There is a ferry stop close by and its well worth taking the ferry up to Bellagio (it criss crosses the lake). A word of advice, make sure you have KN95 mask as they will refuse entry to the ferry without one, the standard UK surgical masks are not sufficient.

The hotel restaurant had one of the best dinners I have ever experienced. The hotel is small and quaint. Away from the busy area near Como, but very close the the beautiful Bellagio. The location has a very nice dock for lounging in the sun with a fabulous drink.

Beautiful property located right on the edge of lake Maggiore. Location was great with easy access to the ferry to see the surrounding area. Rooms were clean and spacious with nice furnishings and the view of the lake were amazing. The attached restaurant served wonderful food at a good price and the breakfast in the morning was excellent. Loved the feeling of being at home! Enjoyed the staff as they all were very friendly and most accommodating! Being a family owned business made it very special! The view from our room was breathtaking! I loved the quaintness of the restaurant and the food was delicious! We found this gem unexpectedly as we were going to stay somewhere else! Let me start by saying these reviews (like many things in life) are relative to the person providing the review and the person reading the review. One person's idea of an excellent hotel is different than someone else's.

To give you a better idea of my experience with hotels... I've stayed in MANY hotels all over North America and Europe. (I used to travel for my job.) I wouldn't say I'm an expert, but I have seen quite a bit.

Here's the good and bad...

Good:
- AC in the room! There was a heat-wave running through all of Europe when we visited. AC was important.
- Nice dock out front by the lake. It is not a \"beach\", as they called it. (I know; I'm from Florida.)
- Hotel staff was nice and very helpful, particularly Christina.

Bad:
- Hot everywhere but room. However, as mentioned, there was a heatwave in Europe, so perhaps the temperature is normally OK without AC.
- Not close to anything

That's it. Happy hotel hunting!

This was a great place to stay. The beds were pretty solid, but I guess they are everywhere so far. They are almost the only game in town unless you want to drive. So they mention make sure to make dinner reservations that goes the same for lunch! The server told us no one day and to the hotel and ask for a snack but the lovely owner was there and trotted us back on over and sat us. Awesome but a little uncomfortable! I felt bad! But, we’ll we had lunch and all ended well! and breakfast was the best we’ve had in Italy !

Hotel Villa Aurora was almost too good to be true. We drove up to Lake Como from Milan and from our first glimpse of the lake and mountains we were smitten. The hotel is on a narrow and winding hillside road. They have direct lakefront buildings, a lakefront terrace with lounge chairs and steps downs into the sparkling lake. We checked in at the main building which is across the street from the lake. We were provided keys and given information regarding everything that was included- kayaks, paddle boards, a floating water trampoline and a buffet breakfast. Our rooms were direct lakefront with floor to ceiling doors that opened onto a small balcony with a glass railing. The rooms were immaculate and modern even with the charming setting. We had a queen sized bed and a twin day bed in addition to two comfy armchairs and a table facing the lake. The room had a small fridge with complimentary bottled water, and an electric pot to make coffee or tea. They provided beach towels to use at the lake and a nice brochure with everything we needed to know. The bathroom was spacious and spotlessly clean. No tub, which was fine for us, but something to keep in mind if you have small kids. It had a very large tiled shower. The balcony had an automated screen and also electric black out blinds operated by a switch next to the door. After a day of sunning, swimming and boating we slept well and enjoyed a generous and varied breakfast. They have a lakefront restaurant for lunch and dinner.

We loved our stay at the Hotel Aurora. The staff was great, the views spectacular, the food was good and dinner prices reasonable. The only downside is that it is on a narrow street with traffic and you do need to be careful walking. But, it's a really neat place to relax and enjoy the lake.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Aurora! The staff were exceptional. One staff, Viviana I believe it was, was so sweet and she remembered each morning that I couldn’t have milk and would make me a cappuccino with soy milk-going above and beyond. Our room was small but we didn’t mind-it was clean and orderly. Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate so we couldn’t enjoy the lake front area with lounge chairs and water activities. Their associated restaurant was really delicious and we ate there twice. We would definitely return to Hotel Aurora!

We had to choose between this and another hotel in the same area we are so glad to have picked this hotel. Everything about this place is perfect we never left the hotel area. We came to see lake Como and here you have a perfect view of the lake and excellent hosts. We were made to feel welcome from check-in until we left. The food at the restaurant was perfect also have boats and bikes and other equipment to rent. This would be your best bet when visiting the area. Breakfast included was full with many choices so much to choose from. Fresh juices local cheese and wild honey on the comb. We stayed in a terrace room. For dinner must try pear stuffed ravioli yum. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend stay.

Our Favorite Stay in Italy

We visited numerous places in Italy and this was our favorite!! We were given a room right at the water's edge. We slept with the window open so that we could enjoy the Lake's waves against the building. The beds were wonderful. The breakfast was phenomenal and the personnel ALL go out of their way to make things as perfect as possible. We hope someday to go back. Thank you!

The staff at Hotel Aurora are so friendly and couldn't have made us fell more welcome. Lovely warm people, we felt very well taken care of.
The restaurant is very good, with some spectacular food, particularly the pasta. Fish lovers will appreciate this menu. Breakfast was also good with a varied selection on offer from fruits to cheeses, ham eggs, bread, cereals and cakes.

Great hotel , with friendly and helpful staff , the rooms are nice and clean.The restaurant on the other side of the road has amazing pizza , The decking area is nice and clean and i'm sure gets very busy (we were slightly off season).
Parking is difficult with a big car ,but they are on hand to help find a spot or move it for you later.
Small thing the breakfast is useful although not huge selection and if you don't eat bacon you cant really eat the omelette as its put usually in the same warming plate...

Lake activities galore, plus hospitality, views!

Hotel Aurora was absolutely the highlight of our trip, accommodations-wise! I'm a huge water junkie and they kept me very busy and happy with all the complimentary lake activities (paddleboarding, kayaking, water trampoline, small inflatable waterslide) and the paid-for fun (I went waterskiing twice for 3 Euro per minute -- average of $20 US per quick trip and so worth it to me for the amazing time with such a beautiful backdrop). Bike rentals are complimentary for guests, too, and you're welcome to stick around for the full day that you check out and even use showers in their boat house to tidy up after your lake day.

We had a mountain view room but we got a peek at the lake-view ones -- WOW!

We ate all our meals at the incredible restaurant on site and were delighted by every single bite.

All the staff was incredibly welcoming, spoke perfect English, and clearly have hospitality running through their veins.

The rooms were spacious enough for the two of us and were very clean.

The food in the included breakfast was delicious, but the real surprise was the food that was served in the attached restaurant for lunch and dinner. It was completely amazing.

The location of the hotel is just great - it’s right in the middle of the town of Como and Bellagio. Both places are packed with tourists throughout the day, so this hotel serves as a quiet retreat after a long day. In addition, there’s a bus station right next to the hotel which make it very accessible. Even though we had a rental car, we took the bus to the towns around Lake Como in order to overcome the hassle of finding an available parking spot and especially to avoid driving in the narrow roads around the lake. Parking was available in the hotel for free.

The hotel is located directly on the lake’s waters and offers various free activities - kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and more. We also recommend to rent a motor boat and take it around the lake - it was such a blast!

We highly recommend staying at a Hotel Villa Aurora when traveling to the Como area, and look forward for a return visit ourselves.

When I stayed here it was my 7th hotel to stay at in the lake Como region and this proved to be quite a gem.
All the staff I encountered, particularly the receptionists, made me feel very welcome and we’re always extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent and one of the best I had while in Como. My only suggested change would be to separate the hot egg items from the bacon so vegetarians, like myself, could eat it. I did see you could order cooked items but you had to pay for them. I had lunch in the restaurant twice and it was really wonderful, the view is fantastic, the decor very pleasant and the food and service was excellent. My single room, while small, was extremely clean and comfortable. I sincerely appreciated the complemetary water that was left on 2 occasions. I do suggest prospective guests be aware that it’s difficult to walk on the roads around the hotel (including to Lezzeno) as there are limited paths and there is considerable traffic, making it a little dangerous on occasions.
This hotel is extremely good value for the cost and one I highly recommend. I certainly hope to go back again.

Amazing view & Friendly staff

We stayed in a superior double room with terrace looking out onto the lake which was amazing. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier and the hotel facilities were great. We had a perfect 3 nights here. Lezzeno is small, quiet and peaceful which makes ferry’s limited so do check timetables of when they run before you go to plan activities. However, Bellagio is great for evenings out and can be reached by ferry or is a bus/€25 taxi away taking around 15-20 mins

I would go back and stay at the hotel anytime

Lovely hotel in super location.

Loved this hotel, not far from Bellagio but in a very peaceful location. The restaurant was lovely with a vast choice of foods to suit all and reasonably priced. My only criticism which is probably more of a personal opinion is that our room was just above the bar and reception, which could be noisy until fairly late and the cleaners cupboard was next door which could be noisy when the cleaners started work. I would definitely love to go back but would stay on a higher floor which I am sure is quieter. The staff, especially the lovely receptionist was all very friendly with big smiles on their face and very welcoming. The local transport system was very good and took you into Como or Bellagio. All in all a very very nice hotel and one I would recommend.

Spending the best 4 days in Lake Como

We were here for pre-wedding photo shoot, so we stayed for 3 nights. We got here on C30 bus, the bus stop is only 10metres from the reception! We were told our room got upgraded to one with own balcony, and it was amazing! With the room full view of the lake and Villa del Balbianello, spacious room and bathroom. About 5mins walk to the pier for Lezzeno, you could easily go to Bellagio on a ferry. We ended up spending all 3 nights at the hotel restaurant, even the staff at Villa del Balbianello recommended it too. Friendly staff, great variety of choices for breakfast. Highly recommend!

Quaint, Convenient, Fantastic View

Hotel Villa Aurora in Lezzeno is convenient to seeing any of Lake Como via bus or The boat transport. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for luxury this isn’t the place, but if you want a well run, family operation with clean and well appointed rooms, a lovely continental breakfast, and easy access to the sights of Lago di Como, you can’t go wrong here. Their restaurant across the road and directly on the lake serves delicious freshly prepared authentic pasta, fish, and pizza items nightly. They have decorated the hotel with comfort in mind with antiques and a ‘shabby chic’ look that is really well done in this historic building. You can sense the pride of family and feel their welcoming hospitality the moment you step through the entrance. They haven’t missed a detail from the umbrellas by the door to the candies on the lounge coffee table. We would definitely return and recommend Hotel Villa Aurora tomfriends and family!

Soundproofed really??

Very nice location and service was wonderful. Reservation mentioned soundproofed which is hard to believe considering we were assaulted on all sides with noise until 23:30, due to being right above the bar and dishwasher along with the noisy footsteps till 01:00 from room above. Also had a guest talking right outside our room door at 23:00 for like 15 minutes until I asked them to take the conversation to their room. The following days we wore earplugs which helped a lot, but saying the place is soundproofed seems rediculous! Everything else about the place is wonderful once we got past the first evening.

Perfect family friendly escape

We had an amazing stay at Villa Aurora. Our room was located in the new building and our window looked right out onto the lake. You couldn't ask for anything better. We had a king sized bed and a small twin for my 3 year old son. It was clean, modern and comfortable. The meals at the restaurant were excellent and so was the included breakfast. The watersports / amenities we're fabulous. I felt like a kid again and my son couldn't get enough. The town is small, so it's nice that you have everything you need right onsite. It was also easy to catch a ferry or bus to other parts of the lake to explore.

Lakeside gem.

Hotel Villa Aurora is beautifully positioned on lake Como just a short 20 minute bus ride from Bellagio. There were plenty of facilities for families although I enjoyed evening drinks on the patio overlooking the lake and surrounding mountains. My room was a little on the small side but ideal for my stay - nicely appointed with a comfortable bed, handy desk and a great bathroom. The staff were great, very friendly and although there was no lift, they were happy to help me with my bag. There was the added bonus of onsite parking and a short (somewhat perilous walk) to local shops. Breakfast was excellent and the room provided lovely views to start the day.

Perfection on Lake Como.

There are no words other then PERFECTION to describe this gem on Lake Como. Don't bother staying in Bellagio. THERE IS NOWHERE as special as this friendly spot 10 min drive, or bus ride to Bellagio and the ferryboats that can take you anywhere for a day trip. Our only regret was leaving for Lugano for two days instead of a day trip and returning to Hotel Villa Aurora at night. The staff, accomodations (while not 5 star) are clean, safe, roomy and quiet. We choose across the street from main hotel in newer units with garage below for our rental car. Our Jr. Suite was directly on the water at our backdoor and roomy. The breakfast was outstanding and the food at the onsite restaurant was superb and very reasonable.

Stay here if you visit Lake Como. The room was large, clean and comfy. Request a Lake view, it's worth a little extra. Eat in their restaurant, everything is delicious! Use the restaurant deck and the hotel patio to savor the lake views. The hosts are friendly and helpful.

Favorite part of my Italy vacation!

I will never forget my short stay here! The view from my room was breathtaking and the staff was amazing. We will definitely be back in the future.
