Our stay was so good that we actually extended by additional nights. Vens was very helpful in facilitating us to stay in the same room.

We viewed Lagoon Premier rooms which are more expensive upon check in. Specifically, we viewed the block that are on the left when coming from Reception. In our view, Lagoon Deluxe are nicer than those.

Upon check out, we viewed Lagoon Premier rooms on the right hand side coming from Reception. We believe that this are the newest rooms in the resort and / or certainly appear to be the most recently refurbished. Rooms 74, 76, and 78 are the ground floor Premier options that are nicest of the Premier rooms (guessing that 75, 77, and 79 are the upstairs version of them).

That said, we were very happy with our Deluxe room (room 9) and would gladly stay in it again.

One small issue was that the hairdryer did not work, but we didn't need it urgently, so we just told them upon check out.

This is our second time staying here. This first time we stayed in a Superior room which we found very far away from Reception, especially with luggage and we also found that there was a lot of mosquitos in the Superior room and that there was an unpleasant odour in the bathroom of the Superior room.

This time we stayed in a Deluxe Lagoon room, specifically room 9. It was much better. Huge king-size bed, very spacious, mosquito-free, and no odour in the bathroom. We needed an iron and housekeeping were prompt to bring it when we needed it.

It was very clean, but the bathroom floors in particular could do with a wash with some hot water and bleach / floor cleaner to lift surface dirt. We wore slippers / flip-flops in the shower which was perfect, but the outline of the dirt appeared below them when we walked.

Great breakfast and excellent buffet dinner options (a different theme on a different night). They also gave us 20% off vouchers for use in the restaurant which was brilliant. Not sure if this was just a promotion for our stay dates. We didn't have lunch buffet, but it looked great too.

We didn't use pool, but some of our family did, and they were very accommodating and it was clean and well run. Small supplement for them coming in from outside.

WiFi is decent. Not the fastest, but very stable. Plenty of hot water in the shower / sink.

We looked at other hotels in Butuan during our stay. For us, this is the best option for an AFAM!

Front office staffs are awesome specially “crizel” I’m not sure if I spelled her name right (she deserves a 5 start rate). But in general all staffs in the restaurant, housekeeping and bellboys are very professional. I will recommend this facility to my friends in the U.S who wish to visit BXU. I was a little bit disappointed in our 1st day of stay but it turned well for the rest of our stay. Thank you so much

I've been staying at the Almont Inland for many years--the rooms are comfortable and I love seeing the waterlilies open and close at the lagoon. The staff are wonderful and accommodating, the pool is beautiful and clean. The food is good and varied and the live singers on the weekends are my favorites!

I had a good experience at this property. Staff was receptive and helped find our room. We had everything you would expect at a hotel room although there was no hot water but this common for the region. Pool are was very nicely done and great area to hang out. I was pleasantly surprised with breakfast that came with our room. Very tasty and plenty to choose from. I would stay here again.

The room was very large and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were good. Location was not too far from two new malls. The University nly things that let it down for me was a very loud singer in the restaurant at dinner time and when we moved outside to get a table where we could speak, a zumber exercise class started with loud music and we were stuck between the two and still unable to speak !

The staff are friendly and accommodating, the only comment i would like to say is that there is no bathroom towels provided when we are in the room, i need to call them to bring towels. The water smells like soils, there are roaches in the bathroom. The bed is ok and the buffet..
I think i would rather prefer to have a hotel building rather than cottages style and there are mosquitoes because it was sorrounded with water pond..

The staff was very kind and polite. The area was very beautiful. The drawback to being very outdoor based and having an outdoor restaurant was the bugs. Often there are mosquitos and ants due to the tropical climate. I would recommend using insect repellant if you will be outside for extended period of time or even while eating at the restaurant which is outdoor based. The breakfast buffet is a bit limited in choices compared to Hotels I have stayed at in Manila, CDO, and Cebu. Not many choices and they only offer water, coffee or hot chocolate as an included beverage. First time not having a juice option staying at a hotel in the Philippines. I would prefer a hotel with a Gym but I'm not sure any of the hotels in Butuan have gym facilities. I would also recommend getting a bigger room not by the pond. The pond is very beautiful but it attracts more mosquitos. Overall its a nice place for the price.

food was same every day even the menu didn’t have the items listed available. Buffet had zero items for Americans no orange juice or bacon. For 14 days ate scrambled eggs and watermelons with water for breakfast. Unbelievable!!!

I book a one queen bed, but I got one queen and one full, which the room needed fixing as it had cracks on the wall on the bath room and the shower head needs replacing, I complaint, but they said all rooms are the same with the two bed set up.

Very nice place. There are a lot of mosquitoes, especially in the standard rooms, but you can ask to have your room sprayed. The deluxe room was better since there were no gaps in the window panes for mosquitoes to get in. The staff and the grounds are well worth it!

I wish their dining area was enclosed. I got a lot of mosquito bites at the pool & during dinner. Thankfully, I only stayed one night for an early flight BXU-MNL. They have a very nice pool & their rooms are pretty big.

TV was broken, shower head was broken, shower stall flooded, no shampoo, no toothbrush, no minibar, no bottled water and to cap it off the in-room phone was broken. I tried calling their landline from my mobile but no-one answered. I filled in a customer survey but i’m Sure I won’t hear anything back.
Avoid this hotel. Try Watergate or Oasis

Not what we expected.

To start with when we arrived we were told that we couldn't have the room we booked and paid for as the web site had made a mistake. We had booked a superior room with a queen size bed and were given a standard room with a double bed and a single. Even though we had the booking on our phone clearly stating what we had booked the reception refused to honour it and blamed the site. If we had not already paid we would have left but in the end had to settle for the room they gave us which was situated right at the back of the resort in a section undergoing renovation because the rooms were too old. It was so far from the main building they provided a golf cart as transport however we had to walk there with our cases and the porter. The only advantage was that it was so far away that not many rooms were booked so it was quiet. The room was OK, it was in need of renovation but it was a good size and was clean, there were no coffee facilities provided although a mini bar was there in a small fridge. The air conditioning worked well but the bed linen was very thin and there was no hot water in the bathroom. We decided to dine in the resort and the meal was OK but as per usual everything was bought to the table at the same time even though an entree was ordered from the menu, it actually came after the main course and the walk back to the room helped with the digestion. Sleep that night was OK, not wonderful and breakfast was OK too with fresh fried eggs available and coffee.

My toilet was blocked up for three days. Fixed and refixed. The front door was ancient, easy to break into. The key was o a chain with three different brass keys attached to a small block of wood....with the room number etched on the back. I invited aquest for dinner in their restaurant. I had to pay a 200 pecos for them to use the pool. They already benefited from the second dinner guest. Things were in maintained and deteriorating. The staff was, as all Filipino staff are, wonderful.

The check-in was quick. There was some confusion about where the booking came from (apparently, Hotels.com bookings are under Expedia?), but after it was sorted out, everything went smoothly.

They also offer free airport transfers -- had I known that when we got there, I would have opted for it right away. In any case, it unburdened us of thinking how to get to the airport for our return flight (there are no taxis in Butuan City).

The food wasn't that great. Had an upset tummy after our stay. The water, as well, seemed a bit too suspicious. The shower and the taps seem to be hard water so almost no bubbles with the soap. :-)

They also have limited amenities. Slippers are apparently for guests on a different (more expensive?) room category. (I thought it was standard...). I had to request for additional amenities because they only placed one set in the room. When I asked, the attendant insisted that he check the room to make sure that there are enough -- or is it to make sure that we don't ask more that what they have placed there already, I don't know.

Apparently, it was a popular hotel here -- they have billboards in the airport, and they claim they are well-known in the region -- so that accounts for the high rating. Probably because our stay was muddled by the stress of getting to the property, and the food, and the water, among other things, these are what led to this review.

When it comes of comfort Almont Inland Resort will not let you down.Resort in the middle of the city.Had hot and cold shower, and very spacious room. Easy check-in with welcome drinks, friendly stuff and had a good choice of buffet breakfast with tender care from thier stuff. Food was very good.. i love thier Pork binagoongan..I had a pleasant stay from December 29-31 and surely coming back again. I highly recomend this resort...

Room service was always on hand to assist. Meals are varied and suit both western and other cultures needs. Prices are high example is beer to be brought outside is 50 peso however in the resort they are 115 peso they need the address this pricing inconsistency. Overall great people and managers in all areas.

Not a great experience. Lizards and ants in the room/shower. Too many bugs, mosquitos and flies on the breakfast area. Over charged for food from the restaurant menu. Water for toothbrushing not drinkable. I constantly had to request the room sprayed for lizards and ants. Air conditioner not effectively working on keeping the room cool. Had to request a fan.
