I had read the previous reviews prior to booking all of which were excellent and I thought well how good can it be ? Well this is one of the very best, if not the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms are lovely, the views from the balcony breathtaking and the food excellent. But it is the staff who put the icing on the cake. The team at the Villa are truly special, and a tribute to this wonderful hotel. Very disappointed not to have booked a longer stay, but we will return to this wonderful city and this beautiful hotel. Well done to all the Team and thank you for a fantastic stay.

This is one of the best properties we have stayed at anywhere in the world. The setting on the Adriatic is stunning, and the staff and services are all top notch. Just about every room has a view of the water. It's walkable to Dubrovnik but a little far in the heat so they have a convenient shuttle. The food options on premises are abundant and all very good. It's hard to over recommend this place.

This is the best hotel to stay at in Dubrovnik. There is a michilin 1 star restaurant = Ptajin- that is incredible.
Loved our visit- wished we were there longer- only 1 night but it would be worth it to stay 2-3 nights here. We stayed after a cruise. Absolutely loved the hotel and amenities-

Every aspect of our stay at Villa Dubrovnik was truly 5 star. Every staff member irrespective of their department and/or shift were friendly, helpful and attentive.

The location and position of the hotel was spectacular with incredible views back towards the old town which was an easy walk to get to.

The experience was so remarkable, we’ll certainly be going back next summer.

Stunning hotel with really great staff. An easy 15 minutes walk into Dubrovnik but provides a calm escape from the bustle of the city. Best views particularly at sunset. Not cheap to stay but worth it for a treat.

Loved the property. It's beautiful! The staff around the hotel was exceptional, especially in the restaurant and the bellmen. The front desk women were nice but a little cool. (could have been a language barrier) I was disappointed that the gym opened so late in the morning. Not until I asked if there was any way I could get in earlier (the night before our last day) was I told that I could if I turned on the lights myself. They gym should open earlier. End of story.

A true 5 star

This hotel is amazing. The views, decor and staff were exceptional. I can’t wait to go back for a longer stay; three nights was not long enough!!! If you like living in the lap of luxury, this hotel is for you.

If you have any concerns, the hotel staff is quick to address them and are extremely friendly while doing so.

The only concern that I had was the access to the sea. If you have small children, the drop off into the sea is an obvious hazard so we just didn’t let our 11 month old walk in that area.

Excellent service and beautiful looking hotel, which is what you expect for a hotel in this price range. Quiet location. 15-20 min walk into the old town but there hotel boat shuttle is excellent - just make sure you get to the dock 10min before departure to ensure you get a seat on the boat. Rooftop bar boasts an amazing view of the city.

Every aspect of our stay was perfect. Airport transfer was smooth and from the moment we arrived at the hotel we were treated as royalty. Cooked to order breakfast each morning was a nice touch along with boat transfer to the old city just a short ride away. Our room had a lovely view of the sea and Lockrum Island. Staff was friendly and went above and beyond in ensuring that our experience was flawless. Boxed breakfasts were provided to accommodate our early flight departure time.

I spent 9 nights in Dubrovnik (honeymoon) with my wife. We spent 3 of those nights at Villa Dubrovnik.

Service is top notch, very polite and responsive. Bed is comfortable. The view throughout the hotel is great. We really enjoyed our time at Villa Dubrovnik, and we would definitely stay at this amazing hotel again the next time we go back.

If I had to nitpick, I would say I wish the pool was a bit larger. But that's about it.

I returned to this hotel, having first stayed here in 2012, to find that it was just as good, if not better than, last time. It is quite a feat for a wonderful hotel to live-up to a previous great experience - so often a place or hotel is never quite as wonderful as you remember. Villa Dubrovnik proves the exception to this sad rule and the reason is that they are constantly trying to be better and not rest on their laurels, as evidenced by the recent refurb of some of the public rooms and spaces which, whilst lovely before, have been given an up-date, and now look even better. This is, obviously, not a cheap hotel but, I feel, it is excellent value for money. All the staff are wonderful, polite, charming, well trained and not at all pompous as can be the case in some 5* establishments. The views from everywhere are superlative. The rooms are beautiful in a modern way and quite spacious. The food is first class and eating a leisurely lunch on the terrace with the best view of the city is something you should not miss. The \"icing on the cake\" is the boat service into the city, which is just the best way to arrive and depart. It is just wonderful to return to the hotel in the heat of the day when the city is getting too hot and too busy and relax and enjoy all that this beautiful hotel as to offer. I hope that I am able to return very soon.

If I could give this hotel 6 stars I would. Everything from the staff to the super clean facilities, wonderful transfer boat and the swimming pool and spa were more than 5 star. It's such a shame that the whole experience was let down by the food. We had dinner in the restaurant which was phenomenally expensive and very much not worth it. Over done fish and meagre pasta. ...They seem to value style over substance plating up small badly cooked food onto giant designer plates. Breakfast was no better. Watery vinegary eggs on soggy toast etc. It's such a shame as this should be an amazing restaurant but there are plenty of better places for a fraction of the price just up the road. I would stay again for the hotel facilities which were superb but until they send an update to say they have a new chef I'm sadly put off staying again for longer. The wonderful staff should be credited for an otherwise superb hotel

Possibly the best hotel we've been to. The design is modern and refreshing, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the food and drinks are delicious, and it is romantic, peaceful, convenient and superb as a place to stay.

Wonderful hotel in an idylic setting.

Villa Dubrovnik is a fabulous hotel in a wonderful setting. The staff were all extremely helpful and polite without being over-attentive. Arriving early at check-in was welcoming and warm and we were expertly shown round and made to feel at home until our room was ready. This gave us the chance to enjoy the superb views of Dubrovnik from the terrace and enjoy a bite of lunch. The magic of the place was already starting to work! Our room was available to us early and didn't dissapoint. A lovely room, impecably executed and presented. great views from the 4th floor generous balcony of Lokrum and the Old Town. Maid service alway efficient with things always clean and tidy. A short 10-15 minute walk along safe quiet streets brought you into the magical walled town of Dubrovnik. Alternatively, the complimentary hourly Vaparetto ride to and from the old harbour made you feel really special! Evening drinks on the roof top terrace followed by the boat trip into town in the setting sun will linger forever.

Fabulous in every way

From the moment we arrived we felt spoilt. The staff were so friendly and showed us around. The hotel is beautifully situated on several levels spread up the hillside. There are terraces cut into the rocks to sunbathe on and ladders for you to enter the sea next to each set of sunbeds. The terrace where breakfast is served is beautifully shady and overlooks Dubrovnik old town. The complimentary speed boat leaves each hour to take you to the old town. Such a classy way to enter the harbour! We did walk back from the old town on a couple of occasions, when the weather is hot it could take 20 minutes. The hotel makes a wonderful trip to Dubrovnik, perfect. We could have happily stayed the entire time in the hotel, which with beautiful Dubrovnik on your doorstep is a big compliment to the hotel.

We where a group of three on a girls relaxing getaway long weekend break. Dubrovnik is an absolutely amazing city what made it even better was this hotel! The web site photos do not do it justice. The hotel is in a perfect location with stunning views of the city which is a very easy 15 minute walk or even better a short 5 minutes across the water on the hotels unique boat. The staff are friendly very efficient and welcoming. They where also very informative and willing to answer questions. The staff appeared to be very proud not only of the hotel but also of their city rightly so!

Villa Dubrovnik is an amazing property with stunning views of the city with excellent amenities. The restaurant, bar and pool area provide an oasis for the perfect escpae from reality. We enjoyed the surprise boat service into the city and the amazing views we captured on the way. This place is the perfect blend of resort and city. Spend the extra money and get a room with views of the city, the night time lights provide a great backdrop.

We began our honeymoon staying at Villa Dubrovnik. The staff was very helpful and the hotel is a great mix of modern and blending in with nature. we enjoyed our stay but noticed a few things were off for such a highly rated hotel. Our two complaints of the hotel were that the WiFi was weak and our queen bed was really just two twins pushed together. We were disappointed that when we arrived there were multiple mosquitoes smashed on the walls. They were not cleaned up the first day, but once we brought it to the hotel's attention they were wiped off.

My husband and I stayed here with our 19 and 20 year old kids. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, at all levels. We visited in mid-May. My only complaint is that the rooftop bar wasn't yet open, that's why facilities received only a 4. Also workout room is not very nice for this caliber of hotel. The food, drinks, rooms and scenery were all perfection. A nice respite from the Dubivnik buzz.

Beautiful hotel with great views towards Lokrum Island and Dubrovnik harbour. The room & the rest of the hotel were spotless. Loved the boat shuttle and rooftop bar for watching the sun go down. Although staff were very friendly the service was slow but I soon learned this seemed to be the norm anywhere in Dubrovnik. Other small areas for improvement would be the wifi speed and cocktails.

We stayed early in the season and Dubrovnik is sill calm and quiet. I would imagine this hotel is bliss any time of the year. Excellent service, small enough to be personable but large enough to leave you to your own devices if you wish. The hotel is only 4-5 years old, clean with simple lines. The whole hotel is designed around making the most of the view, now matter where you are - reception, bedroom, bathroom, pool, bar or terrace. The sunsets over Dubrovnik are stunning while sipping a Pina Colada. Highly recommend this as a romantic getaway.

Beautiful Hotel

Villa Dubrovnik was one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. We had a room with an ocean view and left our balcony door open so you could hear the waves crashing all night. The rooms are clean and modern and there was no noise from other guests. The staff all spoke English really well and were very polite and helpful. The hotel is located about 15 minutes from Old Town Dubrovnik and they offer a shuttle if you don't feel like walking.

I had a wonderful 24 hour stay at Villa Dubrovnik. In all areas I experinced exemplary personal service and attention to detail. The spa treatments were also wonderful. I will definitely go again if my itinerarpy takes me through Dubrovnik.

Beautiful hotel and location.

Beautiful hotel. Great facilities. Service is patchy - some bar staff are surly. However Roberto is an absolute credit to the place and couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.
Breakfast is a ridiculous price.

Stay here! It has everything...

If you are driving it is hard to find BUT once you have found it and you are met by the effervescent and knowledgeable Roberto who takes care of the car, luggage and any information you need...then heaven awaits. This very modern hotel has rooms with balconies and our room overlooked the sea and dubrovnik old town. The beds are huge, the service from ALL the staff was wonderful the only small thing is that the shower is over the bath...but so minor! It is a fabulous 10 minute walk into the Old Town and if you are lucky with the weather the hotel has their own speed boat to take you into the Town... If I am lucky to go back to Dubrovnik I will definitely stay at Villa Dubrovnik!!

5 night stay, Dubrovnik

The furnishings and the location of the hotel are amazing but not sure whether this justifies the £400 price tag per night ? The shower is a cylinder head which had very poor pressure and a major selling point of the hotel is the boat service to the old town of which was only operating on 2 out of the 5 days we were there, this was apparently due to rough sea conditions ! In addition the bus / boat only runs up till 2 o'clock and then not till 6 in the evening, effectively forcing you to stay in the hotel in the morning and then go into town in the afternoon or visa versa.

they are spoiled

service people in breakfast dispointing. late checkout is refused. they said hotel is full but we did not see many people around. it was sunday. not usual checkin day. chekout is 12.00 checkin 15.00. it is hard to believe that they could not tolerate even one hour. rule is rule so we did not say anything. but we would not go there again.over all i believe hotel staff is spoiled.

Wonderful for couples

Villa Dubrovnik offered a perfect child free getaway for two exhusted parents. We loved it. The staff was helpful, courteous and unpretentious. We will be back!

The Blacks

Perfect. Just perfect.

This was our 10th wedding anniversary treat - a trip without children - and this was the perfect hotel. I can't think of one aspect that wasn't absolutely perfect. Not one.

The staff were as you'd expect in a 5 star hotel. The whole hotel, spotlessly clean. The decor and style, cool and clean. The view from our (lowest class of) room was uninterrupted out onto the blue sea and sky. The spa was wonderful, quiet and amazingly relaxing.

Can't comment on the food, we chose to eat from the local bakeries on the way into the old town for breakfast and town restaurants for dinner. Of the 3 nights we ate in the same restaurant twice, Dalmatino - can't recommend it highly enough for delicious, reasonably priced dishes.

We will be back.

Fabulous

I had a wonderful time. Staff were excellent. Friendly and helpful. Location and views stunning. Food and wine fabulous, although more expensive than I had anticipated, worth every penny. Location was good. Quiet but only 10 minutes walk to Old Town and enjoyable for the views and additional scenery of the renovations still happening to buildings around. Bed very comfortable and bathroom well appointed - and bigger than some I've had. Views from balcony great and sun more or less all day. Balcony big enough to sit on but not sunbathing. Sun terrace lovely. Overall I couldn't fault it - and I was a single female travelling alone.

Perfection!!!

Villa Dubrovnik is the most perfect hotel I've ever stayed in!!! The hotel appears brand new! The rooms are modern with a perfect mix of form, luxury, and function. I have never had a room with such a clever floor plan. I could see the ocean from the bathroom because of the glass areas on either side of the mirror behind the sink! Everything was in the \"right\" place: If I needed a makeup mirror, it was right where I needed it, hooks, all in the right place, Large luxurious bathtub! Large luxurious bed. Large balcony overlooking the Adriatic sea. 15 min walk to the old town of Dubrovnik, or the hotel provides free shuttles at specific times back and forth. Great, amazing, helpful staff! I hated to leave this hotel... it was nirvana. We changed to a different hotel in Dubrovnik for the last night, and it was such a disappointment after Villa Dubrovnik

Nice hotel

Hotel is very nice....although it is not right at the old town but it won't take you more than 15 mins walking to get to there or you can get a ride by hotel shuttle which runs every each hr.....great service......but MUST get a room on 4/F otherwise the view will be blocked by the trees right in front of the balcony! my room was on the 3/F, barely see the old town and there was a column in the middle of the window >< if i revisit Dubrovnik in the future, i will definitely choose this hotel again!

Outstanding and breth taking views

A great hotel set in the most magnificent view of the entrance to Dubrovnik.A real 5 star boutique hotel. you will not be disappointed. The staff are great and very helpful.
