Great stay. Very helpful staff. Breakfasts are very good. Also has access to the municipal 25m swimming pool. Would strongly recommend. The view from our bedroom of the Northern Lights over the Cathedral was a real bonus!

I don't understand charging for a room that is ready and you're just 1 hr ahead of checkin time. The room was the worst I've ever been in, the size of a closet plus there wasn't a plug in to utilize the blowdryer and the sink was backing up. You could barely get around the bed and I don't understand the shower door design, sprays water all over the counter, no matter how you pointed the water. We did get moved the next day to a larger room.

This room seemed to be a bit older or maybe other rooms I’ve stayed in have been updated recently. This does not take away from it being a pleasant stay and a comfortable room. I am a solo traveller and it was good for me being the queen bed option. I feel a couple might be a bit tight but definitely doable.
The staff were very friendly and remembered me. Got me in a tad earlier than check in, which was appreciated. The local bus is only a short walk to the hotel, and the town is so small that you could walk anywhere in the main “city” from the hotel.
I will stay here next time I’m in Alta.

The location was great. I had a room facing the Northern Lights Cathedral which got nice views with the northern lights one night. The room was comfortable and a good size for one. Staff were very helpful, however sometimes during busy periods it took a long time to just purchase a bottle of water. The breakfast was good and varied and if purchased at the hotel cheaper than what was charged when booking. The local bus stop is 100m from the hotel so it was cheap and easy to get from the airport to the hotel. There were two nights that the restaurant was closed due to functions that wasn’t communicated to guests. Besides all of that, an excellent hotel in a great location!

Rude staff, overpriced for what u get

Our flight got cancelled and we booked this place because Thon Hotel where we stayed at previously was fully booked and we liked its location and noted that Scandic was just beside. However, although we paid double the price at Scandic, the rooms were smaller, views weren’t as great and most of all, staff there were all grumpy and receptionist that tended to us was rude. We simply asked if we could get an earlier check in if there was a room available as we were tired and had a lot of manage with our flight cancellation but she showed zero empathy and was simply brushed us away and asked us to come back later to ask, without giving any time or more information. For the amount we paid, we definitely do expect some better service here. Scandic, if you do not want to lose your customers to a better player you have just opposite you, please retrain your staff or maybe reduce your prices.

Quiet h-l, too small room, wi-fi troubles.

There is very good, rich breakfast, friendly staff but unfortunately at least 3 of those members were quite useless in helping us to get that wi-fi. For all our 3 days of stay there was a lot of problem with the wi-fi, including the totaly wrong instructions how to get it. Those instructions were given to us in a small peace if paper together with the key-card.
The rooms are with big, comfortable, clean bed and linens but the space in the room is very tiny, so if you are a couple, you will be bumping accidently to each other, stapping on each other feet, nocking things around or stepping on peaces of your luggage. And we are both slim people. I can't even imagine how hard it could be if the customer is of a bigger body-type: taller or wider.

Breakfast was great. Note: not the hotel’s fault, but Parking was less available and more expensive than the Expedia listing showed - but if you use the lot across the street you only have to pay during the daytime and it works out a lot cheaper. The hotel was average. Not a normal problem there: It was very warm in Alta the week we were in town. They have no air conditioning, and so we had to leave the windows open - which meant we could not sleep well due to noise and light (the sun doesn’t set up there). They also have no fans - which is weird, as most places we stayed up there had small fans you could use to move air into the room - but this hotel didn’t. It would behoove them to buy a stock of fans to keep for the odd days when it is warm. The stuff in the area is fairly touristy and expensive but easy enough to find a decent restaurant to walk to.

Typical Scandic Hotel, good location, basic room but comfortable and impeccably clean. The staff were friendly, helpful and competent. And, of course, an excellent buffet breakfast with many options, fresh and cooked.

Room was large and nice, but a bit expensive. Parking is limited, so arrive early if you need to park. Breakfast starts late, and it was no way they would let us in early, even though we could see the food sitting there. Lousy service for such a high price.

Très bien situé en centre ville avec si vous avez de la chance une superbe vue sur la cathédrale d'Alta. Là tout peut être fait à pied et des activités sont disponibles au syndicat d'initiative avec départ de l'hôtel.
Les petits déjeuner en self sont copieux et variés, il y a un restaurant pour le dîner. Très bien.

Hotellet gir inntrykk av å ikke ha fulgt med når det gjelder modernisering og vedlikehold.
Enkelt utstyrt rom, Veldig myke ( og gamle?) senger. Manglet papirlommetørkler på badet.
Frokost på søndager bår tilpasses de reisende som skal ha første fly ut. Det kunne vært løst med en enkel buffet for tidlig reisende istedenfor ingenting.

Alt i alt veldig greit. Personalet meget hyggelig! Likte også duften av hånd-og dusjsåpen - ikke for sterk lukt. Men det har vært varmt, hotellrommet var varmt og dyna kanskje i tykkeste laget. - Ble opplyst om rimeligere parkering en anelse lenger unna, men ankom så sent på natta at vi ikke orket å flytte bilen. Frokosten var helt ok, veldig hjelpsom og hyggelig service der også!

Savnet en Pizza vi kom opp for- Ben's Spesial som har vært best selgende i 35 år. Håper Scandic kan prate med kokken Ben Slimen H, å få den på plass igjen!

I had very disappointing experience at this hotel.
when I picked up the two suitcases I had left with the hotel before check-in, both were partly open. One had a cover, but when I removed it, I found that about two-thirds of the zipper was undone. The other suitcase had a lock, but somehow it had been opened, the insider zipper was undone,and some of my clothes had been fallen out.
I tried to report this, but there was no phone in the room. when I went down to the reception, it was crowded with people checking in. After trying twice,I gave up as I could not find what had gone missing.

Overall, I cannot recommend leaving your luggage with this hotel.

Lived in a room for handicapped. Nice room and bed with electric adjustments. WC is mounted a bit close to the wall. Fantastic breakfast.

When ordering room i did a mistake and ordered Thursday to Saturday. And then Sunday. When i came they combined these 2 orders, but they haven't done it so my keycard was defunct.

Vi hadde et fint opphold med flott utsikt oppover Altadalen og mot Halde. Det som trakk ned på oppholdet var noen forferdelige dyner. Det var tykke filttepper som var alllt for varme. Med den temperaturen vi kan forvente framover bør hotellet ha lette sommerdyner om sommeren og varmere dyner om vinteren.

Petite surprise. Pour la première fois je suis arrivé avec une voiture et j'ai découvert que le grand parking juste devant l'hôtel ne leur appartient pas, et qu'il est payant. Je n'ai pas regardé les détails concernant les heures, le parking derrière l'hôtel est payant de 10h00 à 20h00.
Pour le reste, accueil, chambre, petits déjeuners,etc...tout est parfait.
