The staff was exceptional and always went out of their way to ensure your stay is fantastic.
Rooms are spacious with wonderful amenities including tea and coffee area.
Shower is wonderful with lots of hot water. Bathroom is heated, such an exceptional touch! Furnishings are beautiful.
Breakfast is off the charts!! Incredible selection, more than you can imagine! Consistently fabulous, such an amazing benefit.
Dinner is also exceptional.
Incredible value truly the place to stay near airport .
Shuttle runs all day into evening, so easy and cheap.
Highly recommend your stay in Oslo being at Hotel Thon!

Good experience, no negative comments on the hotel. Our original plan was to spend 3 nights, but due to unexpected circumstances it got trimmed to only 1 night in Alta.
Room was clean, staff was really helpful. I would definitely consider staying at the same hotel on my next trip to Alta.

Great hotel, very helpful staff. Comfy beds and an equipped lovely spacious room. Fabulous food and breakfasts in the restaurant. And a full on view of the northern lights cathedral from our window.
High floor is a must with the view we had. Highly recommend this hotel.

Problem with booking

The hotel stay was fine, but when I was booking the stay, I wanted to use a 1400,- coupon I have with hotels.com. I booked through the app, but was never able to apply the coupon. I contacted the chatbot service, but was unable to get any help.
If possible I would like the coupon to be used and 1400,- to be refunded to the payment card

There are only three restaurants in the area to eat from during the holiday season. The hotels restaurant was very good, as was the Pepe Pizza next to the hotel, and Erica’s was ok. Alta is beautiful, and the area offers a few thongs to do during winter: dog sledding, Sami reindeers, Alta Museum (rock carvings), snow shoe hiking, etc. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and efficient. The rugs can use a deep cleaning, but overall very good hotel. Had a false alarm, but quickly informed guests of the situation. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will come back in the future. ❤️

Incredible view of Alta from the 6th floor. Clean & quiet. Heated floors in bathroom. Very helpful staff! Superior breakfast! Conditions were icy, so wonderful that Peppe's Pizza was next door (delicious), and the 3-story mall could be accessed without going outside. Breakfast would have cost at least $40 each in a nice American hotel. Walking distance to Northern Lights Cathedral and top restaurants in area. Wise decision to stay here!

Great hotel in the centre of Alta. Near the bus station and some rooms overlook the cathedral. Room was larger than most standard rooms. Very clean. There is a small gym. The breakfast was amazing, and the room was very good as well.
However, without a credit card they made me give them a 1000 kroner security deposit. As I was flying back home the next day it cost me time and money to exchange this money back into euros. They wouldn't accept euros as safety deposit.

The rooms are well laid out, very comfortable bed, useful kitchenette unit and nice bathroom with underfloor heating. The breakfast is OUTSTANDING, with the best range and choice I have seen anywhere (and I've stayed in a lot of high end places), even including vitamin and omega 3 supplements if that's what you want! Staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. Bonus that we ended up on the 5th floor with a great view of the cathedral. I thoroughly recommend this hotel!

We were only there for one night but our experience was great. The bed was very comfortable, the room was very clean and a good size for my husband, two kids and myself. The most amazing thing was the free breakfast buffet the next morning! It was by far the best breakfast buffet we have ever had.

A few days in Alta

Both the Thon and Scandic hotels are in the central area of Alta both are large and modern The breakfast was ok but the coffee was u drinkable. Staff are good and virtually ebverone can speak English.

La colazione a buffet meravigliosamente buona e adatta per tutti i gusti. Biscotti, yogurt magri e non (anche biologici), marmellate, pancarrè, vari tipi di pane, vari topping per yogurt, uova in vari modi, bacon, salsicce, salmone, vari tipi di formaggi e salse.
