Talk about pampered!!

Our room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. Sheila and Bill provide snacks and drinks- everything you may need is thought of and available! We woke up to beautiful scenery of the yard and lake views. Then to top it off Sheila and Bill whipped up a gourmet and delicious breakfast for us.
We had an amazing stay and highly recommend staying here!

Staying at the Coppertoppe Inn is like staying with family! Sheila and Bill are so friendly and accommodating. It’s like no other B&B I have ever stayed at. They send you a questionnaire prior to your arrival and will make whatever you like for breakfast (which was fantastic)! They also get whatever you like for snacks and drinks - just like family would do! The room was VERY clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed sitting out on the covered deck overlooking Newfound Lake. Because it’s covered, we were able to sit out even when it rained!

If you are looking for a clean, comfortable B&B with a family feel, this is your place. You will LOVE Bill and Sheila!

Fabulous Long Weekend

CopperToppe is a very welcoming B&B with amazing service. Bill and Sheila, the owners, are very welcoming and take great care of their guests. You will be guaranteed an amazing view and customized breakfasts every morning. We used the resort as a base for day trips to the beach (they provide your permit), nearby towns and the Audubon nature center nearby. We especially enjoyed finding the frogs in the pond with our 6 yr old.

First time ever staying at a B&B...we were a bit nervous..but this was THE most amazing, relaxing experience. We stayed in the Garnett room, which was huge...the bathroom was the best part. We came up to the mountains to just get away and unwind from our busy life back home. Sheila and Bill were so accommodating and caring. Sheila made an amazing Huevos Rancheros..and Bill an oatmeal bake! This place exceeds any fancy hotel. We can not wait to come up again..next time with our pup and kiddo !

They have everything you need..including late night snack and drinks in the kitchen . I'd definitely recommend.

Happy Days

First time staying at an Inn:

After booking the room for a couple days I got a call from Sheila asking me many questions as to my comfort and food/health requirements. After asking in amazement as to why all this data is needed the reply was ?I want your stay here to be the best experience you ever had? Who does this?

Bill Sheila greeted us and gave us the tour.

In the morning Bill is busy cooking an earthy crunchy health food breakfast that is amazingly delicious.

I would highly recommend the oatmeal bake. (Very good)

Staying at coppertoppe was just like staying at your brother or sisters house where they love and care for you. We woke in the morning went down stairs to a beautiful panoramic view of a pristine lake and forest. I was mesmerize and mellowed the whole time looking at the view.

I've missed out not staying in Inn's more often but I doubt they all pay attention to detail as much as this one......Enjoy. AL Carol Hebert

A Hidden Gem

We certainly felt spoiled by Sheila and Bill! They went out of their way to find out our food preferences and we certainly enjoyed the daily breakfast that they prepared! The view of the lake was absolutely gorgeous! The location is fantastic and our skiers skied three different mountains that were nearby. It was great that we were able to bring our dog and Sheila and Bill watched her while we headed out for dinner. We truly were welcomed by Sheila and Bill and look forward to returning!

Loved this place!

My husband and I stayed at the Coppertoppe Inn for 4 days and loved it! The Inn was charming, bright and clean, and the owners Bill and Sheila were absolutely delightful. They gave us suggestions on places to go in the area, made us scrumptious breakfasts with fresh foods and even accommodated our late breakfast schedule. Sheila is a fascinating woman and great conversationalist if you have time to hang with her. And if you like cats, they have two furry animals in the house. We stayed in the Amethyst Room which was cozy and had a super comfortable bed and a walk in closet. Sheila and Bill really do their best to make sure everyone is fully satisfied with everything. The only reason we gave this Inn a rating of 4 instead of 5 in the service area is because we didn't realize that the rooms weren't cleaned every day. There were extra towels in our bottom drawer but we weren't told about it and we've never stayed at a place where we had to make our own bed or wait a few days for the garbage to be emptied. (We're usually very spoiled on vacations.) This really didn't bother us though because we loved everything else about this Inn and had a wonderful time. Highly recommended!

Bill and Sheila went above and beyond expectations to ensure that our elopement was everything we were hoping to experience. The flowers, the ceremony, the cake, the wine, arranging for our massages. Every detail was attended to with the utmost care and consideration of our likes and wishes. Our dogs were included in everything as well. Bill and Sheila provided us with information regarding the surrounding areas with activities to do, places to visit (or not visit). I really wish we booked more time there. Couldn't stay

I arrived to a tired property. It looked as though nothing had been done in 13 years; paint was peeling everywhere, empty containers that were meant for planting, and all sorts of equipment stored all over the yard. It looked like someone's run-down home that likes to collect junk. As far as a retreat center, I would say more like a hostel, however, $289 night is not hostel rates. The room was small and was a day-bed made up to be a Queen size bed by pushing two beds together and putting some sort of mattress topper over them. There was a ridiculously large hump in the middle of the bed. I am not sure who could sleep on something like that. I was there for rest and relaxation. I turned around and left. There was just no way I was going to spend three nights like that.

Beautiful

This property is so fantastic! I live in the city and I had a moment where I finally let my ears relax and all I heard was the rustle of the branches and an occasional bird. That experience is usually accompanied by sleeping in a tent, but luckily Sheila and Bill have created this cozy and clean oasis away from it all. Oh yeah, and Bill cooks an outstanding breakfast too.

They took care of our pets when we were there...and not there; had a great library to borrow books, games and videos from; and provided an amazing breakfast each day. If you are looking to get away from it all, and have a great view along with it, this is your place. We would definitely visit again!

Peace and Quiet, and Great view!

Stumbled on this by accident but what a great view of Newfound Lake. Sheila and Bill are great down to earth folk. I stayed in the Amethyst room which had a very comfortable mattress, and of course a great view.

The area in general is very peacefull, thankfully NOT like Winnipesaukee area, and because the Coppertoppe is set back up the hill it is extremely quiet with no vehicle noise.

I'll look forward to visiting again.

Great Stay

Pros: Our bed and breakfast hosts, Bill and Sheila, were very attentive to our comfort. We certainly felt at home in our stay.

Cons: We found hardly anything to complain about. One thing was that we wished that the access road had been paved.

Location: Our agenda was to enjoy the autumn colors in an uncrowded environment. This was a great location to view the foliage and the charms of the White Mountains.

Great place to unwind!!

My wife & I had had a very stressful summer. We saw an ad for the Copertoppe Inn & decided to take a shot. It was a home run. Sheila & Bill, the innkeepers were great. The made to order breakfasts were equally as great. But best of all was the tranquility. No highway sounds, no humming of AC units(they're there if you need AC). This is truly a place to unwind.

Absolutely wonderful experience

My husband and I planned to stay at Coppertoppe Inn (which we found through the internet) for a two night mini-honeymoon; by the first morning we asked about staying an extra night, and were able to. I can't say enough about the graciousness, hospitality and attentiveness of Sheila and Bill; they made it clear that our comfort and enjoyment were very important to them. Before we arrived and each evening they asked us what we'd like for breakfast, and then prepared exquisite feasts tailored to our tastes: oatmeal bake, egg-white veggie omelettes, bacon, sausage, french toast casserole, fresh fruit, coffees, fritatas - as much as we could eat - fresh and clean ingredients when possible. We skipped lunch every day. They were available for conversation and just hanging out if we wanted to do that, or were fine if we did our own thing. They provided detailed information about local restaurants and hiking and swimming sites, lent us a beach parking permit, heated up the amazing hot tub whenever we asked. Don't skip that - I have never felt just strong and well-positioned jets, like getting a full body massage. The view from the Inn was beautiful, and sometimes we would just sleep and read for hours. Bill shared the library and video collection with us, and his enormous collection rekindled my interest in science fiction. Everything was clean; there were snacks galore available all day and night. Our room was very handsome, the bedding comfortable. We took the smallest room which was comfortable and adequate, but we would take one of the larger ones next time. We left rested, relaxed and renewed.

A gem with a spectacular view

A friend recommended the Coppertoppe Inn for our weekend visit, since it's a half mile from where she lives, and she knows the proprietors. Little did I know it was an absolutely gorgeous house with a stunning view of a lake and mountains, and our room was over-the-top fabulous with all sorts of amenities and comfort items. Breakfast was enough to make me want to move in for good. Bill and Sheila were warm, gracious and friendly, and great cooks and housekeepers. Their attention to detail is amazing - they bend over backwards to make sure their guests are comfortable and have everything they could possibly want or need during their stay. I recommend this place highly!

Beautiful and relaxing weekend escape

My wife and I had a wonderful and relaxing getaway at the Coppertoppe, and look forward to returning for future visits. Bill and Sheila were wonderful hosts, who could not be kinder and more welcoming. We arrived knowing nothing about the area, so we took our hosts? advice on local attractions and had a great time. Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of eggs, breakfast meats, pancakes, and homemade fruit jams and marmalades. The accommodations were wonderful, with a great view, a very comfortable bed, beautifully finished room with a huge shower, a great array of snacks available 24/7, and even Bill?s personal library with a nice selection of books to pass time in the late evening and early morning. All in all, we had a great time, and will definitely be returning.

Great writers' retreat!

Coppertoppe?s friendly, attentive proprietors greeted us on arrival and immediately made us feel at home. They had already queried us on our eating and drinking preferences--catering to food sensitivities is a specialty--and they knew we were planning g to work on a screenplay project. After asking us where we wanted to work, (the library was available to us as well as the room, which are all roomy enough to work in) they set up a long table and comfortable office chairs for us. It was a very productive weekend for me and my writing partner.

Everywhere in the hotel, whatever you think you need or would be nice to have as a convenience I found was already set in place. These people really know how to make a guest comfortable. Everything is extremely clean, even though pets are a regular guests as well. All the rooms and the common area have gorgeous views of the shy, mountains and New Found Lake. I heartily recommend a stay at Coppertoppe!

Breathtaking view, warm welcome, wonderful food

We spent one night at Coppertoppe. There were 5 of us (6 including my dog) in the family suite and it was a comfortable fit at a very reasonable price. Throw in the priceless view (all rooms have a stunning view of newfound lake) and the tailor made breakfast (gluten free pancakes, frittata, bacon, sausage and fresh fruit) and it was a steel. Bill and Sgeila were welcoming and accommodating. When we arrived Sheila led my 7 and 10 year old boys down to the play room where they rediscovered their love of toy trucks. In the morning the boys went out to the lobby to watch cartoons and the adults and dog got to sleep in. The boys want me to mention the pond (frogs!) and the snack table (chips! Little cereal boxes! Juice boxes! And other more adult friendly snacks as well, including a wine rack. I particularly appreciated the fully stocked selection of teas and the bird nest right outside our window. Thank you!!

Coppertoppe is a beautiful bed and breakfast with wonderful keepers. Bill and Sheila are so kind and thoughtful. They make cooked to order breakfast every morning and it is amazing! My boyfriend and I still rave about Sheila's pancakes. When I say they are thoughtful I mean soooo thoughtful. I have a dairy intolerance and Shiela made sure there was my specific brand of almond milk and the chocolate version of it. I also mentioned wanting cinnamon buns and she went out and got some. We stayed in the garnet suit which is beautiful and worth every penny. The bed is enormous, the view is picture perfect and the bathroom is like a privet spa. So amazing! Perfect vacation getaway

My husband and I hadn't been on a vacation without our children for over 7 years, and when we had the opportunity we decided to visit the White Mountains. Our first few hours at Coppertoppe Inn couldn't have been a more perfect start: pulling up to the beautiful grounds, being met by the ever friendly and upbeat Bill, walking into the spacious and warm dining/living area, and then seeing our room. We stayed in the Garnet Suite, and the bathroom alone is worth the trip. The bathroom is enormous, marble, with a whirlpool bathtub for two (complete with scented Epsom salts, perfect after a strenuous hike!) and the nicest shower experience I've ever had. And the view! From our spacious balcony we faced Newfound Lake and distant mountains: the best place to relax, sip wine and read. The furnishings in the room were comfortable, tasteful, and just what we needed, including two armchairs with foot stools for watching a movie we'd brought along.

Sheila is wealth of knowledge and experience, and talking with her at breakfast was another bright spot. Breakfasts were delicious: oatmeal pancakes with fresh fruit and bacon or sausage, along with a wonderful vegetable and cheese omelette with herbs from her garden; eggs, an oatmeal raisin bake, and smoothies with fruit, almond milk, and collard greens from the garden; and savory french toast smothered with sautéed vegetables and sprinkled with parmesan. Sheila and Bill take into account everyone's food needs and preferences.

And for our longest, most strenuous hike, Sheila stocked my husband with Power Ade and lent us thermoses filled with ice cold water, which were truly cold when we finally got back to our car 6 1/2 hours later!

We can't wait to come back.

A wonderful weekend away

This weekend was an extremely thoughtful gift from our three sons. They thought this through as we have two dogs and this property is extremely dog friendly. I travel extensively for business and frankly the thought of going away for the weekend was is not something that I would generally find rewarding. I'm glad that we availed ourselves of this opportunity. Sheila and Bill made us feel completely at home in their special home, overlooking Newfound Lake. I review many properties on Trip Advisor and I can't recall the last time that I gave outstanding type ratings across the board to any of them. We were in the Garnet Suite. It is large, very tastefully decorated and has great amenities. The private en suite bath included a large open rain shower, whirlpool tub, heated towels and a wonderfully long double vanity. The walk in closet had a refrigerator and coffee maker as well as robes, slippers and extra bedding. The king size bed had separate firmness control for each side. A sitting area complete with flat screen TV and DVD player was also in the large suite. Opening another door in the suite revealed a kid's bedroom complete decorated appropriately and appointed with children's books. We traveled with our dogs beds but they would have been provided by Sheila and Bill. We just find it easier for our dogs to lay on their beds in the SUV so the beds were with us.. They had asked what we liked to snack on and drink and we couldn't have been happier with their choices for us. Breakfasts were sumptuous and varied with fresh fruits, frittatas, veggies, juices and great coffee. Sheila and Bill actually dog sat for us when we went out to dinner and upon our return we found our dogs curled up with them as they watched a movie. Dogs were happy, Sheila and Bill were happy and we were happy.

Wonderful eco-friendly experience for us (vegetarians) and our dog!

My husband and I, along with our dog, enjoyed what we hope to be the first of many stays at Coppertoppe in January 2015.

Sheila and Bill were so great; before we arrived Sheila spent a while getting to know all about us and our preferences, they gave us fantastic homemade breakfast meals that were healthy, full of flavor and just perfect for our vegetarian diet (there were also many great treats for our non-vegetarian dog!). They are just lovely people and we had great conversations all throughout our stay. We felt perfectly at home! The room itself was very roomy and comfortable. Sheila and Bill have put a lot of thought into their property and operations to be environmentally-sensitive, which we appreciate personally and professionally. There didn't seem to be a bad view, no matter where we were, and looking out on the near-frozen Newfound Lake during breakfast was especially lovely.

All around, a great stay and we've finally found the qualities we've been looking for in a New England vacation spot - we look forward to making Coppertoppe a regular destination!

Wonderful Stay at Coppertoppe Inn

Attention to Detail is a concept that Bill and Sheila, proprietors, take very seriously. When I filled out the questionnaire before my stay, I figured that something would be missed. But everything was just perfect, from the carrot treats for my dogs, to the third pillow on my bed. The breakfast was so good and so substantial that I didn't even feel the need for lunch until late afternoon! The room had the most wonderful view of a portion of Newfound Lake - Sheila had mentioned that I would need to pull the drapes because the morning sun would be bright, but I chose to keep the drapes open and was wonderfully greeted by a joyous sun my first morning there. This inn had everything I wanted, and things I didn't even know I wanted - a peaceful stay! I am very content! Brenda

Absolutely Wonderful!

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Amethyst suite over the weekend (Friday night- Sunday morning) and we could not have been more pleased with our stay!!

Bill and Sheila are absolutely wonderful! They are kind, accommodating, and very easy-going. They had wonderful advice about the surrounding towns, and gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and hiking spots. We had a wonderful time talking to them over breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday morning. They were incredibly conscious about our food preferences, and the house was stocked full of snacks that were available day and night.

The house itself is wonderful- cozy, inviting, and absolutely pristine. Our room was fabulous- I couldn't find something to complain about even if I wanted to. We went in mid-December, and the view from the house was incredible- I'm sure it's even more amazing in the summer and fall.

The nearby towns have plenty to offer as well. Hiking spots, scenic areas, quaint shops, and some great eateries.

Do be conscious of the driveway- it is like a short dirt road and in the winter/spring it may be a bit slippery. They maintain the road very well, but it's just something to consider if you are traveling in the colder months and your car doesn't have four wheel drive.

Overall it was an excellent experience, and worth every penny! We are very excited to go back!!
