The room was lovely and warm and bedding all very clean. The breakfast was lovely. The chef cooked omlettes or pancakes for you and the view from the rooftop breakfast room was wonderful. The man on reception was extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for him.

This hotel should cost 20-30 JOD/night. It’s old, dirty, and NOISY. I heard cars go by all night and I slept with a towel on the pillow. The chairs were gross looking, like they’d never been washed. Everything is stained.

A good find in Amman

Hotel was standard for Jordan. The owner was extremely nice! He gave us a breakfast box because he knew we were checking out before breakfast began the next day. He even asked us for suggestions we wanted for breakfast. The room was clean. Hot water was only from 6-10am and 7pm-midnight. Wifi was very strong. Heat on the furnace was only turned on for a few hours during the night, leaving the room quite cold. We were there during winter, though, but no air conditioning in the summer. Hotel was central. We could walk to all the sights and lots of places to eat.

Best value hotel in downtown Amman! I can go on about raving about the hospitality of this hotel and how well they accomodate you. Its a value hotel so its very basic but they go out of their way to offer any help. The staff is the best part and so friendly. They arranged a taxi for my trip to Petra at a very accomodating price. They also gave me a map and explained where to go in the area to shop and sightsee. The roman amphitheatre is walking distance and so are so many shops to shop and eat at. The room was comfortable and so were the beds. The wifi worked great and the breakfast is also very good. Great hotel!

Easy stay at Arab Tower

We stayed in Amman for 2 nights and wanted to be central in the old downtown.
It is right near the citadel and roman theatre.
A 5 min walk to Rainbow street.
Rooms are cosy, but this is a budget hotel. We wanted somewhere to sleep!
It worked for us, the staff were helpful and friendly particularly the breakfast crew who looked after us :)
Breakfast is enough to get you going, fresh omelettes and pancakes, with regular dips and breads, coffee, juice etc.

I have to recognise that the staff is very friendly and always helpful . This guy on the restaurant in the rooftop was always asking if we were ok and helped us to find the perfect things to do in that specific day . I think as soon as they have the opportunity they going to fix the facilities. Great Location and Good Value

Stayed here two nights en route to Petra. Located in the Old Town close to all the markets, famous restaurants, bakeries, stores and a 30 minute up-hill walk to the Citadel if you're up for it. Clean rooms with decent showers and comfortable beds. Wifi worked in the rooms and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Water available in the in-room fridge which was convinient. Good value for what you pay for. Would recommend.

The staff here are extremely helpful and the location is great. The hotel itself is a little worn but clean and comfortable. The bath towels are downright luxurious! Nice breakfast. Very helpful in making arrangements for a car and drive....ask for Iyat, he was a great driver and very knowledgeable about the ares we visited.

When visiting a city I prefer to stay close to the action. Unfortunately, that's normally expensive. So I look for a reasonably priced hotel that is central.

The Arab Tower Hotel is not a four or five-star facility. But it is central and very reasonably priced. A nice bonus is the quality of staff at the hotel. They went out of their way to help and after just two nights I felt I'd made some new friends.

The breakfast omelets and pancakes were outstanding.

Great staff, facilities could be a little better

The staff at the Arab Tower are great, speaking good English and able to supply plenty of tips of what to see and how to get there. Breakfast is also really good. The location is perfect for the Roman Citadel and Amphitheatre and lots of local atmosphere in the old part of town.
What lets the hotel down is the basic shower facilities and occasional failure (especially early in the morning) of the hot water.

Great location but TINY bathrooms

I had read the reviews about the size of the shower but I didn't appreciate just how tiny it was going to be. There is no separate shower. It's basically a half bath with a shower head hung over the toilet. Gross. Luckily we had two bathrooms so we just designated one of the bathrooms as the shower and used the other for the toilet and sink. I can't figure out why they didn't just make one normal sized bathroom.

The staff was not very friendly or helpful, but they weren't rude either. The room wasn't very clean -particularly the toilets which was pretty gross. The hotel breakfast was pretty meager in comparison to other Jordanian hotels we stayed in but they did have omelets which was a nice change.

While the room was very spacious and the location was great, the dirty room and tiny shower makes it hard to recommend this hotel. Maybe if you're used to staying in a hostel setting it would work for you, but as a family with young kids, a clean room is pretty important to us.

Great location to start your Amman adventure.

Great hotel in the heart of the hustle of downtown. Walk to the amphitheatre, the Roman fountain and shop till you drop ...the gold souk is also just around the corner. Our room was clean and neat, small bathroom/wetroom with loads of hot water,fresh towels provided. Arabic style breakfast includes a cracking omelette . Booked a tour through Reception at a good price the driver was a star!, Would stay there again.

The hotel is trying

I only stayed here one night. I could tell the hotel is trying to be great. It feels a bit more up class than the other hotel I stayed at in the same area. Breakfast is on the terrace (which is nice and enclosed with windows that open). Omelettes are made as ordered along with a small spread. I got a good deal on the room so I won't complain. My room didn't smell like smoke and the prices of the snacks in the mini fridge were reasonable. The only downfall is that there is no shower area; it is literally next to the sink so everything just gets wet. The internet is only in the lobby. I managed to get a very weak connection in my room because it was on the 1st floor. The location is literally on the main street downtown so you are walking distance from a lot: restaurants and tourist sites. The staff was friendly and explained my options regarding transportation (yellow vs white taxis). If you can get a good deal, I would recommend the hotel for a night or two.

Amman on a Budget - Excellent Service

This hotel in English is called Arab Tower Hotel, and the service and location is a little daunting at first but the staff and convenience, and service for any question or any need, is FIVE STAR. The breakfast is terrific on the 7th floor terrace with omlettes and yummy Jordan delicacies, and the staff although not always speaking English, will help with anything. This is what made it for me - the local flavor, the closeness to everything, the dingy area was made alive by the staff of this hotel, who helped me get to where I needed to be, in a great fair price, with excellent safety. I am so happy that I stayed here, even though the pictures on the web are a little misleading and the area was a little scary at first - you are just in the middle of everything, can do or go anywhere in all of Jordan safely, and you can walk to everywhere in order to enjoy and see the capital. I am coming back!

The hotel looks much better on the website. It's main attraction is the location and price. Staff do their best but little assistance is given unless specifically asked. Get a room with a window, they are slightly better. Beds are very good but the place can be noisy. Shower works mostly but not at 5 am.If you are on a budget, you won't be disappointed.

Room smelt of bubblegum which was quite different & not a bad thing, there are worse smells!! Booked a triple, were given 2 adjoining rooms with 2 singles in one room & a king size & single in the other room so lots of space which was a pleasant surprise. For the standard of hotel breakfast was very good with staff making made to order omelettes. Only quibble would be the lukewarm water when showering. Overall though very good value for money - comfortable beds & clean rooms is all you can really demand from a budget hotel and the Arab Tower certainly had that. Location is excellent.

The location is great and the staff were very helpful, all around. They are very welcoming, quick to respond to email, and are able to answer a lot of questions. they take good care of their guests! They have a great breakfast on their roof terrace, and are within walking distance of a lot of shops, the citadel, and the amphitheater. Our room wasn't huge, but it was comfortable enough and the a/c worked well (important during summer, which is when we visited). The wifi is only available in the lobby, but it is faster than most of the other wifi I've experienced in Jordan.

A good base for exploring

This is a basic hotel with limited facilities, but this is reflected in the price. We stayed for a week in June and loved Jordan and it's people. We used the hotel simply as a base for exploring and it met all our needs. The helpful staff arranged two good trips for us and we were able to access Petra information online (including Jet bus info) via the hotel's reliable wifi (in reception). Breakfast didn't vary but the omelettes were nice! I agree that offering some fruit would enhance the breakfast.
Definitely suitable as a base for exploring Amman and more of Jordan, and in a good central location. Many thanks to the hotel!

Always a pleasure to stay at the Arab Tower

On our second trip to Amman of course we returned to the Arab Tower hotel. The Managerial Staff Mr Mohannad and Mr Rafat instantly remembered us and we were greeted with an amazing upgrade to a family suite!! Such service is second to none! Also as our trip was only 3 days long we immediately booked Mr Eyad for a trip to Jerash for the day and Madaba/airport the following day. The staff were very courteous and eager to help with anything. Once again the breakfast lived it up to our expectations and was delicious with omelettes cooked straight away to your taste. The Arab Tower hotel outshines other hotels in downtown Amman with the amazing staff and service. Although the bathrooms are a tad small, we had two to choose from and the showers were piping hot. All in all Arab Tower is definitely worth a visit!

this is a hotel for 20 JD a night,which of course wont be high-class.but there were 3 facts which were quite disappointing.first,its a hotel and you cannot pay with credit card.second,the breakfast is a joke - you basically get breat,butter and thats it more or less.third,if you have rooms where theres no sunlight at all,enough is said.

This is an ok hotel for an overnight. the staff are great, location is great, I love the breakfast, but it was so noisy, it was hard to sleep. You can hear the door banging. The smell of smoke in the room is also unbearable if you are a non smoker. I asked for nonsmoking room but they do not have such room. when I left the hotel, my clothes just smelled as if I have been smoking. I have to leave early to catch the bus for Petra and the staff at the reception accompanied me at the street to get a taxi, which was a very nice gesture.

I previously lived in Jordan for 3 years, so this was a return visit. I know the area fairly well and don't think you will get much better in terms of this for value. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds and pillows were great (personally I like a firm mattress and thats sometimes hard to find. Theirs were very good) Rooms were clean and kept that way. My room was very quiet. The rooms are basic but nice. Bathroom very basic but clean an functional. The breakfasts they serve are great and you can order lunches and dinners. Not a really wide range of food in those but nice none the less. It's very close to the Citadel (you can see it from the roof top restaurant) and the Roman Theatre (five minute walk). They also have some very reasonably priced package deal tours to all major sites in Jordan; Petra, Wadi Rum, Dead Sea etc. If you're going to walk around town and test some of the local food I would recommend asking advice from the staff. There are a few excellent restaurants within walking distance (maybe 15 minutes max) and I'd stay away from experimenting with the super cheap fast foods. It will be coming out of your back end equally fast. Excellent value.

Only stay here if you're broke or on the run.

The staff at this hotel are very polite and helpful.
But this does not compensate for the fact that the hotel is awful. Not very clean. Bathroom with improvised hot water requiring some kind of pump system (mine didn't work). I abandoned my attempted one night stay at this hotel and went to the airport.
Cabs do not know where this hotel is.
The area is quite run down and nothing to see.

I have no complaints about the Arab Tower Hotel. I would compare it to many hostel experiences from my youth...let's call it a budget hotel. Our large two room accommodation had two lavatories, each had a hot shower. There was plenty of room for everyone and it was perfectly comfortable, if a little noisy (street noise).

It's not very fresh but comparing to other places in Amman it's great. It's old but clean! Moreover the price is good and it's located in centre of Downtown which gives an easy access to all sites. Staff is friendly and helpful. If you don't want to spend much money on accommodation, but you want intimacy of your own room, this is great place. And it has a fantastic tarace with excellent view. I advise to take something to block your ears for the nite because the mosque is very close and you will be woken up with the muezzin call for prayers at 5am.

Arab Tower - a memorable stay with great staff.

The Reception staff upon arrival were very helpful and let us check in very quickly even though we were early. The staff at the hotel, Mr Ibrahim and Mr Rafat were extremely pleasant and efficient and made our stay worthwhile. We took a trip which was offered by the hotel to the Dead sea, Mataba and Mount Nebo, which was very reasonable and our driver Mr Iyad was very hospitable and helpful. Overall the hotel was very good, the room was clean and the breakfast available daily on the rooftop was excellent. The view from the viewtop restaurant was fantastic. We also arranged an airport shuttle both ways with the hotel which was great and the drivers were there to pick up and drop off as promised. Everything at the Arab Tower Hotel was \"no problem\" and it certainly delivered a comfortable, hassle free stay for us. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Great location and good breakfast

Great location for a short visit, close to major sites, breakfast is good as well as the view. Building very old needs more maintenance. They have hot water but the shower and the toilet is more like a closet converted into it. It would be nice if they turn on the lights on the hallways. For the price is good.

Fantastic value for money

Don't be fooled from the outside - the hotel will offer you everything you need and more
Location wise it is ideal - Downtown not far from the Amphitheatre and a short walk to the citadel. Plenty of shops, cafes and facilities nearby
You can park outside on the main road, it gets busy during the day but frees up in the evening
The main road is busy but bring earplugs if you are on a lower room number. You'll hear the call the prayer anyway which is an amazing way to wake up
The staff are amazing and offer guidance and help. There is wifi at the hotel which is free, or you can use a pc for a small charge
Value for money this is an amazing hotel and a great way to start or end your experience in Jordan and Amman.

We stayed for 2 nights, separated by 4 days.....the hotel staff is cordial and sweet.......the room was basic the first time, was upgraded to a four bedder which was much better.......be prepared for a small toilet and basic breakfast....Pretty close to the citadel (walking uphill 15 minutes). Overall, enjoyed the stay.

It's on the heart of the city

It was ok everything . Room service was not bad . But the toilet inside was veryyyy poor . Water leaking from Celling , room lights was constantly on and off . Probabaly electric line got fault . Broken flash . Bad smell . Receiption people was very helpful . Room service boys were also very good .morning breakfast was very good . I would say for money wise this hotel is Absolutly fantastic . Wifi service was not bad too . I will recommend to anyone . Atlast , would like to thanks to the team ( ibrahim room boy, manager raffat, manager asbahi, manager hidden & others

A decent stay fro the money

If you are on a strict budget, then this is not a bad place to stay for few days, I couldn't get the hot water thing to work, didn't mind the cold shower, since it was quite hot outside, and next day when I woke up at 4:30am to catch my flight, taking a cold shower at that time felt quite good. The rooms is large enough for two, AC worked well and the staff were nice. Again, no complain.

downtown in Amman--take ear plugs

the hotel was ok, is was right in the midst of downtown. Quite noisy with traffic noise but if you shut double glazing its not too bad.Staff were very helpful and the room was clean.There is plenty to see on the doorstep---Citadel.amphitheatre,shops. souk. A pleasant surprise was the fresh fruit /cake brought to your room every afternoon.I would probably use the hotel again if I went back to Amman

A charming oasis in the heart of Amman

While not a luxurious hotel, ownership is really devoted to the patrons and the Burj provides a homely and friendly environment for exploring Amman and its environs. Breakfast is served to order and timely, the staff have great recommendations, and most major sites in Amman are well within walking distance.

Arab Tower Hoter - downtown Amman

Used the hotel as a base to visit Amman and surrounding towns. Stayed a second time in a different room after a visit to Petra. Cheap and basic. Room was clean, but bathrooms were very small. The breakfast included a fresh-made omolette which made up for the lack of proper coffee and is served in the roof top with lovely views of the city. The best of all was the staff, always very friendly and accomodating, helpful and great characters. Quite ok for a budget hotel.

Rafhat and Ibrahim very helpfull and friendly always there to help in every way. We had a very pleasant stay at Al Arab Tower Hotel, would go back any time . The staff at the hotel are particularly friendly and helpful. The hotel had most of the additional services I would look for, including car rental on site. The comfort and service of the hotel is well above its price range so it truly represents value for money. The breakfast was excellent and the view from the restaurant on the roof was outstanding. Judging the neighborhood is a bit personal. If you want to be in the middle of Jordanian life then this is the place to be and the hard beds are worth the interactions with people on the streets and in the local cafes. If you want to be in a more European environment then this is not the place for you to stay. If you want 4 and 5 star amenities you won't find it here but if you want to experience Amman this is the place to be. There is no question that it is an outstanding value for the price paid. I have stayed in my share of discount hotels in the world and this is by far the best I have experienced. And, the in-room WiFi works.

Good location but be prepared for downtown dives.

Downtown is pretty dumpy but also interesting, exciting and cheap. This hotel would be fine if they fixed the bathrooms. An overhead shower in a toilet washes the toilet but is not really adequate for a shower and lack of hot water spoils what should be a satisfactory stay.

Arab Tower Hotel - Amman

This hotel is convenient to the few historic sites in Amman, the Roman Theatre and the castle, and it is in the heart of old city. There are no luxuries here, but the excellent breakfast. However, for passing through on a budget it seemed like the best place.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful!
