The hotel was very traditional and building has lots of history located in the central of the Hildesheim downtown. The room was spacious but smelled like old storage or barn. The shower was modernized but water kept dripping from the shower nozzle even complete shut down and wet towel was placed when I entered the room. Other than that, I enjoyed the hotel and service, breakfast is awesome.

Great Hotel with a fantastic location

Stunning hotel with an amazing location.

Only slight downside is the small interaction we had with the hotel staff was blunt and bordering on rude.

The spa was also closed but this was not communicated at check in.

May seem harsh on the review, as the stay otherwise was fantastic. Maybe the staff had a bad day, and the 3 minutes I spent with him was completely against the norm.

I loved the hotel the front desk young lady that checked me in was very helpful, she booked my massage with Valentina who was fabulous and exactly what I needed she helped me find a converter I needed and they the most delicious buffet breakfast with a wonderful staff I asked for crispy bacon and the next 2 mornings that is exactly what I got!!! Pool could have been a bit warmer (though I forgot to ask as I am certain they would have accommodated and they need to get an English speaking news station. Perfect place to stay I look forward to returning soon!

The location of the hotel can be a bit tricky to find. It faces onto the Market in front of the Rathaus, but the main entrance is down a side street which opens out. Signage should be improved as the doors onto the Markt itself arelocked for the cooler parts of the year. That was the only problem. The location is great, 11 minutes from the Hauptbahnhof and in the (rebuilt) old town. Probably the best hotel in town, certainly it is closer to what you would expect to pay in a big city! But the facilities, location and quietness are worth it. Breakfast is way too expensive if you just want a roll and a coffee, but plenty of choice in town. Recommended.

Central, comfortable and convenient

This hotel has everything going for it: you can hardly beat the central location, and yet our room was quiet (may be because it was on 4th floor and did not look out over the square but on the opposite side of building). Our room was spacious and the shower and toilet are separate. I like this because it allows a person to be showering while someone else uses the bathroom. The shower is particularly interesting: a walk in space with dark tinted glass doors on two sides of the space. It is both \"open\" and private, and there are hooks and a shelf where you can hang your towel, clothes or other accessories. We had a little balcony that provided a perfect viewing space for some unexpected fireworks set off in the distance! There was a nice coffee maker in the room (something that not all of our German hotel rooms provided) and an iron with ironing board (something I had to request in most hotel stays). The bed was enormous and so comfortable, and the temperature controls allowed us to fine tune the temperature to our liking. We left too early to try the breakfast, but we did enjoy a nice dinner at the outdoor version of their restaurant. From there you have a perfect view of the square with its picturesque buildings and passers-by. The parking lot directly beneath the hotel made getting in an out a breeze. The staff were very helpful getting us checked in and out earlier than normal. I wish we could have stayed longer, but our brief stay was a most enjoyable one.

Very comfortable and pleasant hotel with extensive breakfast offering.
The only points that negatively affected my stay were skid marks in the toilet when I first got to my room and the fact that the room radiators were fixed to HOT without the ability to turn them off or down.

Not as nice as a few years ago.

Unfortunately, near the elevator, we were awoken early every morning by the banging of service carts in the hallway and also in the middle of the night by other odd noises. Napping in day was impossible due to construction drilling in the room above. After 2 days of poor sleep, I left exhausted. It's a great place with nice service and food, but difficult to enjoy when utterly sleep deprived.

Hotel was stylist, clean, family-friendly and best service I have ever received. From check in to check out this was an amazing experience. Rooms were amazing (we had 2 family suites), pool was very good, breakfast superb but the best was the the staff! The gentleman at the reception (unfortunately I didn't get his name) was beyond helpful, even to the point where he came out of the hotel, after we had checked out, to shake our hands goodbye. Never have i felt so welcomed, and I have travelled most of the world through business. Location was good and everything within a short walk. 6* hotel in my opinion!

Overall stay was good. We stayed there for one night and then extended our stay for one more night. Front desk lady booked us one night with breakfast but at checkout she denied breakfast was included so my advice would be to get something in writing for free breakfast when you check in.
I stayed there to attend Hannover Messe trade fair exhibition but it was quite far away from Hannover, costed me 70 euros one way with taxi. Hildishiem is a very small town as compared to Hannover and not much to do there so I would not have stayed there if hotels available in Hannover.

Short stay in Copenhagen

Stayed here for 2 nights on a short stopover in Copenhagen with my family. Hotel staff were lovely and very helpful. Location is ideal, very central and close to all main attractions. Room was clean, and comfortable and rate was good especially for Copenhagen. It was a little noisy at night time, which didn't bother us, but may put off a light sleeper. We will defintely stay in this hotel again if we are in Copenhagen.

Definitely the best hotel in Hildesheim with cheap and convenient parking below. Excellent location. Restaurant is a little understaffed but the food is very good. Bar is totally understaffed (at one point we had to wait 12 minutes to find a bartender/waiter, but all are very friendly. Airconditioner was dripping condensation onto floor in entrance hallway in the room. Sink drain was draining too slowly.

Nice Hotel in Hildesheim

Excellent staff.
Easy chick in and easy chick out.
It was a very nice hotel, in the middle of Hildesheim and the shopping center.
It was clean and comfortable. The view was good but the windows are high so you have to stand to see.
There was a minor misunderstanding about the breakfast but it was solved. The restauarant was excellent, and the food was good.
I will repeat this experience again.

The van der Valk Hotel in Hildesheim is in the middle of the city - great location! It is unfortunately a little bit difficult to find the entrance by car because of all the pedestrian zones around the hotel - but it is paying off with the hotel itself! Comfortable room, nice bar and delicious breakfast buffet :)

It is always a gamble when you choose a hotel, even when you've done the research and read all the reviews, especially when visiting a foreign country. we could not have been happier with our stay in this beautiful hotel. Particularly helpful to us was a manager at the reception desk, Mareike. She went out of her way to help me and was extremely patient and kind to me, even though I cannot speak any German. She made a stressful situation very easy for me.

room was very warm,only way to cool it off was to open window...which was not good with a open grassy area outside of itThe room we were given was next to the lift so we had to listen to that all night.This hotel has no bell hop and nowhere to unload your suitcases from the car. The front desk gentleman told me car would be ok out front for a few min. I returned in 8 min to find a $15 ticket on the window. Breakfast was not included in price and even though they cold make eggs to order...there was never a cook at the station to make them.

Luxurious hotel for a low price and in town centre

Picturesque hotel located in the town centre of Hildesheim. My wife and I both like this hotel, because it feels very luxurious, with a lot of character, but without the high costs. There is a car park underneath hotel, but be careful when driving in and out, as it is very easy to scratch your car!

Er werd meerdere keren aangeklopt in de ochtend of de kamer schoongemaakt kon worden.
Het zou toch handig zijn als de schoonmakers inzicht hadden in kamer bezetting. Dan hadden ze kunnen zetten dat we zouden uit checken die ochtend.

Wunderschöner Eingangsbereich und sehr freundliches Personal. Das Zimmer war schlicht aber angenehm eingerichtet.
Leider muss es zwischen Expedia und dem Hotel ein Missverständnis gegeben haben. Ich hatte das Zimmer mit Balkon gebucht, habe aber eines eine Kategorie niedriger bekommen. Wir haben es jetzt so akzeptiert, da der fehlende Balkon aufgrund des Wetters nicht dramatisch war. Aber eigentlich erwarte ich dass man das Gebuchte auch bekommt.
Das Hotel ist trotzdem sehr schön.

Smukt hotel, dejligt og stort værelse 108 “direktør” med skøn udsigt ud over den fredelige markedsplads. Nem og overkommelig parkering til 10€ i din parkeringskælder, virkelig lækker morgenmad med appelsinjuice der bliver presset direkte ned i glasset og en elektronisk nutella-pumpe - wow! Alle fra personalet er virkelig venlige. Jeg kan på det varmeste anbefale hotellet.

Das Zimmer war für die gehobene Preisklasse OK. Das Bad hatte eine Schiebetür, nicht abschließbar, nicht schließend wie man es von einer normalen Badtür erwartet. Trotzdem ein sehr schönes Bad. Die Beleuchtung war teilweise nicht in Ordnung. Die Möbel, naja..., der Schranksafe war nicht montiert, sondern nur lose im Schrank, quasi zum zugreifen und mitnehmen. Wer es nicht mag ab 5:30 Uhr von den Marktleuten durch die Aufbauarbeiten geweckt zu werden, sollte darauf achten, dass sein Zimmer nach hinten ausgerichtet ist und nicht zum Marktplatz. Ansonsten war das Hotel sehr schön und das Frühstücksangebot super. Die Hotellage ist für Hildesheimbesucher top. Die Tiefgarage hat einen eigenen Hotelzugang mit Aufzug. Wir würden wieder kommen.

Ich war 2x4 Tage da. Erster Aufenthalt war okay. Allerdings war/ist die Rechnungstellung nicht klar. Ich konnte den Preis nicht finden, den ich bei der Buchung angezeigt bekommen habe. Bis heute noch keine Nachricht zu meiner reklamierten Rechnung. Beim 2 Besuch bekam ich ein Zimmer welches schon eher in die Kategorie-abgewohnt- fällt. Am Morgen wollte ich den Föhn nutzen. Der ging in Flammen auf. Fenster konnte man nicht schließen. Kabel hingen bei einer Lampe aus der Decke. Kleiner Kühlschrank wurde so heiß am Gehäuse, die Wärme staut sich extrem im Schrank, indem dieser steht. Für ein 4 Sternehotel für mich nicht empfehlenswert. Und ja ich habe die Misstände an der Rezeption gemeldet. Reaktion des Personals, freundliche Aufnahme der Missstände. Ich habe nun die 3. Woche meines Aufenhalts storniert.

Perfekt beliggenhed i Hildesheim

På vej sydpå overnattede vi i Heidelberg, hvor vi valgte Hotel Van der Valk grundet den centrale beliggenhed.
På den måde nåede vi at opleve en sen eftermiddag i byen med de mange fint genopbygges huse omkring Marktplatz.

Hotellet tilbyder parkering i egen parkeringskælder, hvilket er yderst bekvemt. Trods den centrale beliggenhed er der musestille om natten.
Et dejligt nyrenoveret hotel med alle moderne faciliteter.
Morgenmaden er helt i top med rigtig godt brød og alt hvad der ellers hører til.

Hotellet har en god og hyggelig restaurant, Restaurant Gildehaus, hvor de serverer skøn mad og lokale vine.

Das Hotel befindet sich genau im Zentrum von Hildesheim. Zentraler wohnen geht nicht. Trotzdem gibt es eine öffentliche Parkgarage mit direkter Anbindung zum Hotel. Zimmer war großzügig geschnitten und gut eingerichtet.
