The hotel from hell. They say check-in is from 4pm which is already quite late, but don’t expect to get your room key until 6pm. Chaotic queues at check-in and it took people several hours before they got their room keys. Apart from that the hotel is run-down, tired and untidy. Certainly not worth the price. In the end we didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Fortunately it was only a one night stay. We were only too happy to move on in the morning.

Good place except for the air scent freshener

It was hard to find in the dark as the hotels.com webpage for the hotel did not have a good picture of the outside. The address on the webpage which I copied into Google Maps, did not bring me to the hotel!

The condition of the hotel was fine and the buffet breakfast was expansive with lots of selection. It was good.

One major complaint I have is that they used an air scent thingy in the room on the radiator and that bother me. I only stayed the night, but any longer I would have put that thing in a plastic bag and open the windows to air the room out. It made my nose run. For people sensitive to scents, watch out.

Great location 5 minute walk to ski lift and within 10 minutes walking of central town plaza/restaurants. Room and amenities were good enough although service was poor if needed help on anything room phones weren't working and had to walk to reception. No wifi reception in the rooms, only in the lobby areas.

We stayed at this hotel from 12/2/22-19/2/22. We are two families with small children and it was perfect. We stayed half board and the breakfast and evening buffet was extensive and very tasty and made it much easier with the children in the evening instead of finding somewhere to eat and having to wait for it to be served. After dinner the children could go and play in a safe environment.
The rooms were warm and quiet (we were in the 6th floor) and the bathroom had a nice hot shower. It’s not plush or roomy but comfortable and clean and we all slept really well. My only suggestion would be to add tea making facilities to the rooms.
The mini club was great also, taking the kids off to ski school and collecting them and taking them for lunch which allowed us more time on the slopes knowing they were in safe hands.
The only criticism I have was the difficulty trying to sort things like lift passes, ski lessons etc due to the language barrier and having to pay for water with the evening meal (which clearly came from the tap) but not in the morning. There was one particular ‘unfriendly’ waiter that insisted you sign for it before you sat down! And hovered around the table to whip your plate away (sometimes before you had even finished) which I found very intimidating. Sort these couple of small issues and it would be perfect. I would definitely recommend and stay again in the future.

Uappala Hotel in Sestriere is a fantastic option for accommodation in Sestriere , and we were so glad we chose it ! Value for money is incredible, as the facilities of the hotel make it ideal, with everything you would need right in the hotel . The rooms are clean and spacious, even for a triple room, and we were lucky to have a wonderful balcony with incredible views of the mountains.
The breakfast was fantastic with a nice mixture of cold and hot food, and we were always happy to get onto a day of skiing after having the breakfast, once again with the views of the mountains as a backdrop.
The staff are excellent, and the kids loved the evening shows in the theatre area, that is specially made for evening entertainment. One night they had a brilliant quiz night that we also loved.
The hotel also arranges ski school, and ski hire, and has a spacious equipment room for skis and boots, so makes it very easy after a long day of skiing. We loved the fact that they have a massive free parking area, that allowed us to always have a spot whenever we needed to use the car.
We didnt have the full board evening meal option, but we went in one night to see what is available, and the food looked great, however it was not useful to us, as we preferred to have dinners out. Would have been a great option if we didnt feel like going out of the hotel for evening meals.One thing to note, the walls are a bit thin, so sometimes can hear the next room. I would highly recommend this hotel

We recently stayed as half board guests with our 5 year old. Hotel was basic and offered everything we needed for our skiing holiday. Rooms were clean and the buffet dinners offered a great selection - just what you needed after a long day with tired kids. Would happily stay again. Staff were friendly. Be aware at dinner that you do have to pay for your water - this wasn’t made clear to us and we were a little shocked as it was just bottles of tap water. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would return.

We will definitely return to this hotel.
Andrea at reception was so helpful especially when I lost my bag with money and credit cards in it.

Luckily a local man handed it into the police station with everything in it 2 days later.

The hotel is great
But a few things would improve our next stay.
We were on floor 5 with a view of the slopes and car park !!!!
It was fine and very convenient to the slopes and chair lift not far away, you do however have to get down steep steps from the boot room to the slopes which I found dangerous but do able.
The street lights outside hotel walkway were never on which again was dangerous at night trying to see where the ice was etc.
we had breakfast everyday which is great, we had one meal in the evening which was a great shame that everything was Luke warm, none of the hot food was hot. And we only tried the restaurant for dinner to see if we would do half board next time.

Regardless of these issues I would recommend this hotel and from the looks of the children sitters they are excellent.
The bar downstairs lacks a bit of atmosphere to be honest but generally we will return for sure,
And again would like to praise Andrea and all the wonderful staff at Uappala
Can’t wait to go back

Hotel is perfectly located in Sestriere for a quick access to the slopes. But it’s very basic. The beds are old and not top quality and some of the rooms or at least the one we had 246 had the worst view ever.
No shampoo in the room. No wifi in the room. No information on how to call reception either in the room. Nor very accurate info either from staff for the sauna services.
Breakfast is good. More fresh fruit would be appreciated. Avoid chemichal juices from the machine.
Staff very friendly in the restaurant.
Basic accomodation expectations covered.Lots for improvement.

Pretty pleased overall with only a few bits to moan about, Ski lockers and storage was chargeable, couldn't check in till bang on 16:00 even though our cleaners were done by 10:30 daily, lifts were shocking.

Food was good with a decent selection daily, staff friendly, beds comfortable and rooms warm.

Its a bit of an uphill walk from the town but nice and close to the ski lift.

Hotel is in fairly good location, right by the slopes and provides really good view.

Beds were very comfortable and looks like all rooms come with a small balcony, which is fantastic.

Few things were lacking though. We brought EU socket adapter, which didn't fit to any of our sockets. Even TV in our room had a plug, which didn't fit. So make sure you carry world wide adapter, just in case. Reception changed the TV for our room, but couldn't provide another adapter OR advise me where to get one. Staff just shrugged shoulders when we asked for restaurant recommendations. You can add lunch or dinner to the stay for €30 per person (food only). I do not recommend it based on quality of hot options plus we found many lovely restaurants just by walking around and snowboarding inatructors reconciliation.

Also, there is no WiFi in hotel besides front lobby. Wuite inconvenient for those that are wanting to eatch Netflix in the room or do some work.

So overall it was a good stay, but could have been a bit better due points above.

Reconsider in you value a good night sleep

The hotel is clean, the staff friendly and helpful, location convenient for the slopes.
Food was meh but decent.
BUT!!! The beds we so incredibly uncomfortable I was not able to sleep through a single night! Felt like some special kind of torture. Not to mention that instead of adouble bed we received a room with two twin beds and the mattresses had a 5cm Happ between then even when the beds were pulled together.

Very basic hotel. Can hear noisy people in adjacent rooms. Mattress was not great. Breakfast was not great and was the same every day. Seating at cramped tables was uncomfortable and the staff that cleaned tables and replenished food were incompetent. The only good thing about the hotel was location, which makes it an okay choice if you can sleep through noise and don't care too much about the food experience.

Well located for the ski lifts but not ski in/out. Sound proofing in the room was poor. we could hear the lift even though we weren't next to it. Staff friendly and food was pretty good with a wide selection. Although there wasn't supposed to be wi-fi in the rooms we could pick up the lobby wi-fi on the 5th floor which was enough for emails. Ski rental equipment was old and battered and not as cheap as it should have been but it did the job. Ski rental pick up was slow. Overall OK place to stay and good value at full board

Much worse than expected

Let's start with the (only) bright side: the staff. From the animation team (truly excellent) to the restaurant people, to the front office employees they all showed professionalism and competence. Two thumbs up especially to the team minding children up to 10 years old, they took care of children as if they were their own! The food was fair enough being an all inclusive, especially the dishes of the day. All the rest was way worse than expected. Room was dirty and full of dust, cleaning staff barely makes up the bed without vacuum cleaning the whole week and they did not change the bed linens once in the week - scandal. Only towels were changed daily luckily. Wi-fi (in principle only available in the common areas) basically never worked the whole week. The lifts were broken every single day, and some of the metal finishes were detached and were dangerous. The manager does not seem to have a clue how to solve these major issues, or perhaps it is a management problem because they do not want to invest in the property. Unless there is a major renovation I would not advise going to this place, especially considering its cost.

BASIC BUT FUNCTIONAL HOTEL CLOSE TO SLOPES

A reasonable hotel within a short walking distance to the slopes/lifts. We arrived just after lunch and my friends were fortunate enough to get their rooms straight away, however I had to wait until mid/late afternoon to get mine which was frustrating as the hotel's ski hire shop closed between 12 - 2 pm so there was nothing to do apart from wait in the lobby.
Dinner was good each evening with a variety of choice - local and international. The free wine was a bonus and the kids enjoyed the free coke.
Breakfast was a bit limiting and could have included more variety.
We left at 7am Sunday and were disappointed that the hotel were unable to offer us any refreshments (coffee) before we left or a packed meal.

Hotel was easy to find just on outskirts of village. Ample parking. Close to main gondola, only about 300m walk.
The building is a bit dated and could do with modernisation. Bedroom was adequate in size but could do with some enhancement - bed wasn't particularly comfortable. Only one power socket in bedroom to service everything!
Food in the dining room was adequate, something different every night but nothing terribly exciting. On the positive side - complimentary wine!
The bar is the most disappointing aspect of this hotel. For such a large hotel with a big clientele they operate a charge card system to pay for drinks which is very off-putting. As a result the bar is dead and hence no 'apres-ski' ambience. Ski storage facility available for which there was an extra charge.
Most annoying was a hotel 'supplement' charge of 10% on top of the advertised fee. This added over €70 to our anticipated €700 bill. None of the staff could clearly explain what this charge was for. Difficult to communicate with the staff as I don't speak Italian and their English wasn't great.
Hotels.com should advertise the full price including the hotel supplement charge - this was misleading.
I have no idea how its rated as 4/5 on Trip Advisor - nowhere near that standard.

Le stanze per soggetti diversamente abili non vengono riservate ma messe a disposizione di chiunque senza che questi non vengano messi a conoscenza preventivamente.
Il disagio del pensiero di aver potenzialmente privato un disabile della possibilità di alloggio ci ha accompagnato per tutto il WE e la struttura non ha proposto alcuna alternativa.
Riteniamo scorretta e non inclusiva questa policy volta solo a far cassa a prescindere dalle possibilità che offrono le camere accessibili a persone diversamente abili.

Ottima posizione ma rigidità nei servizi

La posizione della struttura è ottima per l'accesso alle piste, peccato per la rigidità nei servizi e per la struttura un pò datata che non rispecchia le foto.
I servizi che non ci sono piaciuti:
1. Armadietti porta sci/attrezzatura a pagamento.
2. Centro benessere che non è un vero centro benessere, c'è solo la suana ed è pure quella a pagamento.
3. Procedurà di check-out molto rigida, il check-out è imposto alle 10.00 e alle 9.59 avevamo lo staff davanti alla porta a bussarci per chiedere quanto mancava per liberare la camera.
Visto il prezzo del pernottamento mi aspettavo maggiore flessibilità e comfort.
Siamo rimasti un pò delusi.

Colazione molto varia e buona, metterei delle macchinette automatiche per la caffetteria per limitare le code e qualche tipo di pane in più. Dimensione camera e bagno ok, letto non molto comodo, tutto datato anni 80/90. Hotel dotato di molti servizi, compreso bar con musica un po’ troppo alta per l’aperitivo. Di fronte agli impianti sciistici e a due passi dal centro. Nel complesso ci tornerei.

Personale gentile e disponibile, colazione continentale a buffet sia dolce che salato ottima ed abbondante, la cena si paga a parte 30€ cad. ed anche questa ottima e con tanta scelta, l'unico appunto, a mio avviso si potrebbe migliorare la qualità del caffè utilizzando una miscela con maggior quantità di Arabica.
La camera era ben riscaldata, pulita e riordinata ogni mattina, nel complesso siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti.

Ottima posizione per sciare ci ero già stato altre volte anche nella gestione precedente. Però adesso la struttura che era essenziale in termini di comodità è diventata spartana. Le camere piccole lo sono sempre state ma adesso il servizio bar è estremamente limitato, la cena che sarebbe comoda in hotel è a self service (comodo) ma di qualità molto economica. Praticamente inesistenti i secondi. Simile livello anche al mattino a colazione con croissant che finiscono e yogurt anche scaduti. Insufficiente. Personale molto gentile ma impreparato a gestire i clienti. Al ristorante assalto ai tavoli ed al cibo senza alcun rispetto. In tutto l’hotel compreso il ristorante e gli ascensori angusti le mascherine sono un optional. E nessuno fa rispettare le regole. Peccato perché potrebbe essere ottimo come ers prima. Ma oggi mal gestito

Esperienza pessima. Prenotazione camera matrimoniale per due persone per la durata di una settimana con soltanto la colazione inclusa. Primo giorno : check in, dopo aver aspettato un'ora per avere le chiavi della camera, entrati in camera, la stanza era sporchissima, come non fosse mai stata pulita. Lenzuola con peli e capelli attaccati, polvere dappertutto, doccia con ancora il bagnoschiuma versato sulla base della cabina.
Secondo giorno: pulizia giornaliera, cambio asciugamani, ci vengono lasciate asciugamani ancora sporche di feci, ciò viene fatto presente in reception, ol quale prima cerca di incolpare noi per quanto accaduto, poi ci assicura l'imminente cambio di asciugamani, che non avverrà fino al giorno seguente. In tutto questo tendo a precisare l'assenza di organizzazione riguardante sia l'hotel in generale, sia la ristorazione (per non parlare della ski room a pagamento, ovvero una sorta di ripostiglio per sci e scarponi ). Per cinque sere, abbiamo dovuto pagare la cena 30 euro a testa, per mangiare ripetutamente sempre le stesse cose, cosa valida sia a cena che a colazione. Inoltre il personale della sala, al di fuori del maitre MANU, persona eccezionale, di cuore e competente, erano poco disponibili e sprovvisti della conoscenza della lingua inglese, tanto da non saper rispondere alle domande postegli dai clienti stranieri.

Zero pulizia. Il bagno non era stato pulito, c’erano dei capelli e ancora uno shampoo aperto dentro la doccia. Moquette sporca. Letto scomodissimo, ti danno solo un sacco a pelo quindi fa freddo. Nessun servizio

Wirklich nah am Einstieg zu Luften in 2 Richtungen. Im Haus sind SkilehrerInnen und Skiservice buchbar. Die Zimmer sind wie beschrieben, Abendessen ist Buffetauswahl bei der jeder etwas finden sollte und Getränkepreise moderat. Die Mitarbeiter des Hotels sind alle sehr freundlich. Eine andere Bewertung hat Wellness vermisst - das Hotel ist nicht sarauf fokussiert, hat aber dennoch eine Sauna, Massageangebote und 500m weiter wäre das kommunale Schwimmbad.

La struttura dell'hotel sembra datata. Camera da ostello con moquette a terra maleodorante. Comodo sicuramente per la vicinanza agli impianti sciistici ma per il resto soggiorno da dimenticare. Colazione a buffet mediocre con scarsa attenzione alle norme anti-covid. Wifi presente solo nelle aree comuni. Deludente.

Nous étions 2 et nous avons eu une chambre avec 2 lits superposés donc la chambre était très étroite non à l’image de ce que nous avions vu sur le site. L animation était très bien mais surtout pour les italiens. Il y avait du choix au petit déjeuner mais la qualité n’était disponible pas là, les œufs au plat jamais assez cuits (Blanc baveux) L’hôtel est très bien situé pour faire du ski . Pas de wifi ni de réseau mobile ou très faible dans les chambres .

Mancava carta igienica, prima notte molto disturbata da un'orda di teenagers inglesi che hanno fatto di tutto fino a mezzanotte. Poi ok. Luce ingresso bruciata e mai sostituita. Menù ristorante sempre classico e mai con cucine alternative (mio figlio è vegano e abbiamo sempre mangiato fuori). Ghiaccio perenne davanti all'ingresso, mentre sarebbe bastato un pò di sale... L'impressione generale è quella che: chi se ne frega, tanto la gente viene lo stesso (per adesso).

Bra men inte mer.

Ett stort och mycket opersonligt hotell. Många stora grupper, vilket det rimligen är perfekt för.
Rummen var mycket bra. Sängen var åt det knöliga och hårda hållet.
Stor frukostbuffé. Kanske inte den mest genomtänkta.
Bra läge vid liftar och backe. Inte ”ski in, ski out” men bra.
Receptionen var åt det mindre serviceinriktade hållet.

néanmoins très bruyants et le bruit passe dans les chambres dommage.
Bonne literie, superbe vue de l’hotel, petit déjeuner buffet varié et de qualité.
Une traduction de certains messages en français pour se repérer parmi les différents services serait un plus.

Per le mie esigenze il dato positivo e'la vicinanza agli impianti sciistici raggiungibili a piedi in qualche minuto.Attrezzato per accoglienza di famiglie con bambini che ,pero',unitamente alla elevata ricettività ,rende l'ambiente un po' caotico.Ne risente anche il vitto,colazione nella fattispecie,di qualità e presentazione scadente

Colazione buona e varia, camere accoglienti, pulite e funzionali, animatori sempre gentilissimi e posizione dell’hotel davvero ideale per sciatori, basta scendere una scala (c’è anche l’ascensore di fianco) e si è ai piedi della Via Lattea. Consigliatissimo!

Uappala Sestriere non è solo un albergo ma incredibilmente il calore, la cordialità e la professionalità di tutto lo staff ti fa sentire in famiglia con tante piccole attenzioni che non ci si aspetterebbe da una struttura 3 stelle. La location è senza dubbio la migliore di tutta Sestriere (direttamente sulle piste), la pulizia delle camere eccellente, la vista panoramica dalla nostra camera è molto suggestiva ed il ristorante presenta portate ricche e variegate semplicemente perfette e di ottima qualità! Il fiore all’occhiello della struttura è l’animazione, sia per quanto riguarda l’attività sportiva giornaliera che gli spettacoli serali. Gli animatori sono tutti ragazzi giovani e super professionali che svolgono il loro lavoro con tanta energia e passione. La nostra bimba di 5 anni è stata incantata quotidianamente da tutti loro! Tutti questi ragazzi dovrebbero essere da esempio per tutta la gioventù italiana. La loro umiltà e voglia di fare è un esempio mirabile per i tanti giovani nullafacenti di oggi. Perché non serve un reddito di cittadinanza per andare avanti...questi ragazzi sono la più bella e positiva espressione della nostra Italia. Bravissimi!
