This is a safe and lovely property, directly across the street from a mall with all the necessary food options as well as the Hop On Hop Off Bus stop. Perfect locale! Great staff and beautiful grounds. The only complaint I have is that the bed could use an upgrade; it felt old and saggy and hard.

Wonderful experience at this hotel, 10 out of 10!

The hotel is well placed for tourists, so many restaurants and African craft markets, literally across the street. The Hop on Hop off tour bus is right there. The hotel itself is lovely, clean , super comfy beds and the staff is exceptionally professional, helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay there again!!

Nice and Safe Hotel in the Rosebank Area

Comfortable hotel with helpful staff, attending to issues such as no hot water in the room - immediately changed the room for another. Disappointed that they would not refund my last night stay at the hotel when I had to check out early; said it was hotel policy etc but that is always one used not to refund you when they can - that was the only negative aspect of my longish stay.

Cleaner walking into our room at 8 am past our bed and removing towels ! Cleaner charging phone in room & walking back in to retrieve it ! Reception struggled when there was a burst pipe suggested we get a bucket of water from the pool to flush the toilet ! No back up plan until I insisted they sorted out somewhere we could shower they said we could go to their sister hotel but the pipe did get fixed after some time. Nice place but staff need livening up.

Clean and good location for \"Hop on Hop off\" bus, or dinner. Since Johannesburg city is huge and not much friendly for tourists.
We found it conveniently close to the big Rosebank mall with hundreds of restaurants.
There is no breakfast included. There is a paid and expensive, we found the Breakfast is cheaper and better cross treet on the Rosebank mall.

We have stayed at Court Yard many times and always had a satisfied stay, this time we were in D Block, and it was run down and un-swept, the fridge only worked on 'frozen'.
I think that section had been shut off during Covid.

Great hotel for location and price point

Great location (across from mall, shopping center) for everything you'd need for a short stay in Jo'burg. The hotel is clean, comfortable, well kept, etc. Plus is that it has a mini-kitchen so that you can buy your own food and drink and keep in your room. The downside was that the wi-fi worked only in the lobby. It never worked in my room for some odd reason.

The rubbish bin was not emptied upon check in, it had trash from the previous customer in it. The balconies are a nice feature of the rooms, however it’s a shame that the balcony floors and railings are very dusty, making it a displeasure to use.

We were given a smoking room. The room didn't smell like smoke, but the cleanser used to remove the smell had an odd odor to it. It may be a factor for some guests; not us.

Beautiful rooms with kitchenette, bathroom,bedroom and lounge. Service was exceptional, requested to manager for a three hour late check out and it was approved.
Only one thing to note, if you have trouble with stairs, request a ground floor room. Loved the hotel and service plus it is across the street from lots of restaurants and a large Mall.

I only stayed one night after 3 weeks of travel to remote parts of Southern Africa where I was without accessibility to the internet and technology. I had booked a 4 star hotel to splurge for my return before a long journey home assuming I would have these basic amenities. Thee internet didn't work at all and when I called the front desk for assistance the staff didn't seem to care and only offered the solution of trying to use the wifi in the mall across the street. I could have stayed somewhere much cheaper, with better service if I wished to do this. They made no effort to fix it other than to say a tech would come in 24hrs (by which point I was gone). The room was clean, well maintained and spacious but not up to 4 star standard and was quite basic. There is also construction right next door so be prepared for some noise due ng the day. An ok stay.

The Courtyard (not affiliated with the Marriott group, which I found out after booking) is located in the heart of Rosebank; one of Joburgs best neighborhoods. The hotel is located directly across from the subway station so it's very quick and easy to get to and from the airport and other parts of the city. Across the street is also The Zone, a great shopping center with lots of restaurants and bars. I found this quite convenient for dinner and drinks before bed.
Located in The Zone is the ticket office for the Red Bus which gives hop on / hop off tours of Joburg. The pick up location is behind the mall. This made the location even more perfect. Overall, I can't say enough about this location!!
The hotel itself is a bit older property. I can't see it lasting a few more years before being knocked down and a taller building built. The furniture and fixtures are all probably 30 years old or so. That being said, it was quite comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable and linens were in good condition.
The staff that I encountered were friendly enough, but didn't go above and beyond in any way.
The value of this hotel is being located in the heart of Rosebank at a very reasonable price. Would stay here again.

Though a 2nd trip in South Africa, it was my first time in Johannesburg. Whenever I needed an escort to help me cross the main road, a security officer was made available.
The hotel staff was warm and welcoming, especially the ladies in charge of cleaning.
It was a pleasant stay at Courtyard Hotel in Rosebank, which I would like to renew.

Centrally located. Safe/ good security. Spacious rooms, pleasantly decorated and comfortable. Robert ms have a view of greenery. Little kitchionette hidden in entrance cupbard with Nescafe coffee machine and coffee pods- nice touch. Cute communal bar, and a pool with loungers. Great parking facilities. Hotel right next to the Gautrain station so transport from airport really convenient. Across road from major shopping / entertainment area. When you leave in the morning you get a breakfast muffin in a brown paper packet from the man at the gate. Lovely personal touch. Comfort and convenience without all the 5 star pretension... or prices. Good value for money. Perfect for my stay. I’ve stayed here many times before and I’ll be back. Thank you Courtyard

The Courtyard is in a great location-- plenty of places to eat and shop right across the street. They are also within meters of the train station (as well as the stop for the City Sight Seeing Bus). The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable with a small kitchen (sink, fridge, kettle). Definitely would stay there again!

The location of the hotel was very ideal and the room was excellent. I just think that the chair should be repositioned so that one can use it to watch tv. Also the room has a fridge that is stocked with a bottle of water and juice but there's no sign of that, you are taken by surprise. There was no WiFi during my stay. The telephone is very faint I couldn't hear what the receptionist was saying.

Great location right opposite Rosebank Mall and close to the red route bus terminus. Queen 1 bed room spacious and kitchenette useful. Only downside was air con noisy and only in the lounge area so would not reach the bedroom and bathroom if temperature very hot. The complimentary coffee machine in reception was not working more often than it was.

The room was very clean and quiet and the beds extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, although lots of options in the nearby mall too.
A good location - right opposite the Rosebank Mall and Gauteng station, which makes it very convenient for stopover before flying from O.R.Tambo airport.
Wifi did not work in the room, and the staff were reluctant to acknowledge there was a problem. Also we arrived late, and the night manager said there was no room service available. We found out the next morning that this was not correct and we should've been able to get food and drinks. We were compensated with a complimentary late check-out the next day.

Great Location/European Style Hotel

The hotel is well placed and secure from downtown Johannesburg. The location had a simple outdoor mall, but with many eateries, and souvenir/clothing shops. The hotel has a great courtyard, which is private and has drinks served. Quiet courtyard, as it was not busy when we used it. The grass is well kept, and the pool had a moving vacuum. Their winter is just over, and the pool is not heated, but found no difficulties swimming and not freezing. The rooms were especially nice, well laid out, multiple TV's in the multi-bedroom suites. Suites had a refrigerator, and little sink area for making coffee, or cutting applies. All the staff was great, friendly, and ready to serve you. The buffet was fairly nice, containing the usual croissants, eggs, fruits and cheeses., easy to fill up for breakfast. The hotel is away from the city, and although the train station is across the street, we were advised to use a taxi and get some site seeing. Downtown Johannesburg did not appear to be a place to stay at late at night, and this hotel was miles away, which made it nice and quiet. The taxi ride from the airport to this hotel was reasonable, but little costly as the airport is on the other side of the city, adding to the quaint and quiet style of this hotel.

Lovely motel style accommodation but front lacking

Fine motel type accommodation with comfortable rooms with well appointed small kitchenettes. Reception staff not particularly helpful, even rude and unwelcoming with tour arrangements. Accommodations are excellent as are maintenance staff but management seems bit arrogant.

The hotel staff are nice. Breakfast is quite nice. 2 bed apartment is a little cramped and dark and in need of refurbishment but clean ano has everything you need. The main lounge is a nice change of scene and equipped with TV, board games and refreshments. Free tea, coffee, juice all day in lobby. Laundry service and laundry room if you want to do own washing. Right across road from mall and lots of restaurants but quiet as well.

Family of four with two toddlers stayed in the two bedroom suite. It was very room and nice to have extra space. The room was clean but a little run down. Breakfast was delicious and staff very friendly. Best part is the location. Located across from The Zone at Rosebanks and Rosebanks mall. Great place to let kids run around, catch the hop-on-hop-off bus, and find great restaurants at all price levels.
