While this is close to town it felt v safe and was quiet in the ‘back rooms’. It was roomy, had v good wifi, coffee, service from very pleasant staff. Clearly this place has gone to big effort to upgrade itself and its appearance.
All kitchen appliances as needed were there and in good condition. We are staying there again in 2 weeks.

Unfortunately the staff member was rude and said check in time stopped at 6pm, the advisement on Wotif says 8:30 in in check in policy, room was paid in full and the staff member tried charging another$300 on arrival, I had the same issue with this member in previous interaction, I will never ever book another room through katherine hotel, my staff member was left room less, iv used Wotif for years and never had a problem, the katherine hotel member said he didn’t care what your terms and conditions said, his rules were 6pm and we would be charged a call out fee, rude and very unprofessional, now I’m $200 down and my staff member didn’t even get a room. His attitude is unlike no other and I have lived in this town all my life, i had worked with all the roadworks crews around the territory, i will be telling every single person about the disgusting attitude this man showed. Sorry to sound rude Wotif but this man needs to justify why he even has a hotel with an attitude like this.

Staffs provided the best service. Room and all interior are new and modern, quality bed and mattress, big TV with all channels. Dust-free bathroom. Easy parking in front of my room wih spacious parking lot. Security gate was closed after sunset and keycard lock made me feel safety and had a good sleep. Highly recommend.

Paid $145.00 for Superior Plus. No goodies on bed as shown in advertised picture. Pre arranged afterhour arrivals.
Issue 1 Arrived to night safe- no envelope, no key. Had to phone host
Issue 2 Air con not working in room, Host states forgot to turn on AIR CON acess in office.
Iss. 3 No Foxtel as advertised, clearly host forgot to turn our access on.
Iss. 4 No goodies or anything 'Plus' as advertised.
Iss. 5 Large crack, top to bottom, on the side of the coffee mug, food safety issue
Issue 6 only 2 teabags in the beverages.
Issue 7 only 1 x 600ml water bottle. Not a water jug. Not enough for 2 adults
Issue 8 The bathroom wall was covered in a white splash
Issue 9 Shampoo bottle seal broken and used
Iss. 10 shampoo and conditioner were the size of a childs thumb
Iss 11. Soap x 1 was different brand to shampoo & conditioner
iss 12 soap display was not near towel or sink, just random on bench.
Iss. 13 very visable cockroaches
Iss 14 bedspread was dirty, dusty and very old
This room is $65.00 at best

I was a bit disappointed to be asked to pay $40 to get into the motel room 2 hours earlier. I had arrived into Katherine at 5am via an overnight bus from Broome. At 9am I went to the Motel Office and they kindly stored my luggage. I came back at 11.15am to see if the room was prepared (I was a little weary) and then informed of the extra charge, which was not mentioned to me earlier. I made a decision at 11.30am to pay the charge as I really needed to rest and shower. They were to phone me when the room was ready, but no phone call came, hence why I went back. The room, however, was ready, as I got in straight away after paying the $40. I have been to many, many accommodations that oblige a weary, early traveller and do not charge a fee. I am a Gold Hotels.com member but this probably was not one of the accommodations to use the status. Overall, I’d stay again if needed. The bath did not look inviting, stained and looked unclean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Air con did not work initially, but they fixed the issue - dead control. The locality is very handy. Nice pool. Not too many extras for your buck. Nice enough.

Nice and clean. Only have two issues. 1. The bed is on castors and moves at the slightest touch. It was the best bed though. Very comfortable. 2. The gate was too complicated to get out of. Had to get out of car to tough on a pad, which only opened the gate a little, so you can get out and touch on another pad to open it fully. None of these issues should stop anyone from staying here. A very nice place.

For a quick nights stayover it is good. Whilst it is not 5 star it is comfortable and clean. The Chinese restaurant is delicious and the beer garden and bar was run by the most delightful and friendly staff. We were travelling in a small group and had a great night reminiscing in the beer garden.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The owners were courteous and the food in the restaurant was very good. There were some inconsiderate guests who used chairs designated for our rooms and left a mess of beer cans.
Katherine itself is not a nice town and I would not recommend it.

The Grubbiest Motel in Katherine

This is a grubby motel that offers very poor service
Dirty tile floor with hairs on it
No cutlery in unit
No plates
Venetian blind that doesn't give total privacy
Outdoor kitchen for a motel???
Dodgy sheets with black hair between
Mattress is old and bumpy, very uncomfortable
Dumpster next to doorway stinks out the unit
Poor house cleaning, grubbiness everywhere
Table with only 1 chair for 3 person unit
Ants everywhere
Gaps around door way to let in critters
Outside light doesn't work
Poor attitude from house keeping staff, didn't want to help provide missing plates etc
Came round at 3pm to service unit, that's a bit late in the day
Smelled like a smoker had used this unit
No coat hangers in wardrobe

The owners went WAY out of there road to help me. Lost my key first night but knew it had to be in the room. They quickly replaced the key and gate card without cost. We discussed it and they would hold the replacement key fee until I checked out. Knew I would fined it lolol Great manager, lovely staff who will come back after your hangover to make the room up. Just a normal motel with good location who have a fantastic level of involvement in making sure YOU ARE OK. The owner and his wife helped me ...... True all true from a NT man- I'm not even a blow in lolololol

Needs a makeover with a bulldozer

Stayed here once 12 months ago and thought it was ok. Must have been very tired for that stay. Room was unclean bedding and aircon had seen better days. Motel is very tired and past its use by date. Best reno advice for owner is use a vulldozer and rebuild.

Handy but needs attention

Although this Motel was cheaper than others, it is ver off putting when the hygienic part of the room is not clean. Around the bottom of the shower not been cleaned properly for a long time.
Springs were pertruding out of the double bed mattress. Towels definitely need updating, old and definitely showing signs of age. Storage of old building materials and dumpster outside motel door. The building on the outside was freshly painted. No breakfast menu.

Despite booking 2 months ahead our room was right next to a roudy bar next door. The guy in reception apologised but had nothing else. He offered to refund when he didn't have to. So we took up the offer and went camping. Besides that. The room was good and clean and about right for the budget price. Ps I would recommend this hotel as long as you get a room on the side away from that bar.

The adjacent bar/bistro had excessive noise until after 2am on Friday night, so we had very little sleep. The airconditioner seemed to suck into our room the cigarette smoke of other guests. Parking at the door was convenient, and motel is centrally located in the town.
