This establishment's advertising and most reviews certainly create a mismatch between expectations and reality. At a minimum, any usage of words by this establishment to describe themselves as \"luxury\" or \"deluxe\" (or any other related synonyms used) are inappropriate.

This stay was intended for my wife and I's anniversary. When we checked in, the staff made the interesting comment after telling us our room number, \"You can't change rooms.\" And we asked \"What do you mean? We just got here, why would we ask you to change rooms?\"... 😅 Little did we know how relevant that would become.

Firstly, let's begin by how ridiculous it is that they charge a resort fee for places that weren't open, unavailable, some under construction, and not being allowed to really stay near the resort. The premises features a detached wing on the west thats in worse shape than any common budget hotel chain despite being advertised as \"newly renovated\". Sincerely, to all readers, there are waterfront views of Lake George in better quality rooms for better prices.

But for completeness and transparency, it's important to further illustrate the lackluster quality.
I think that recently renovated \"resorts\" would have a better installation of higher quality flooring. The owners felt it acceptable to use the cheap peel and stick vinyl flooring throughout a large portion of the property--like the cheapest a landlord would ins. In our room in particular, that flooring had started to peel.

When we arrived for our “deluxe room”, we were put in a nasty motel building next to the main building. It smelled terrible and musky right when you walked in. It was pretty cold so we put the heat on immediately and the heater was extremely loud. We then went to the main building and asked if we could upgrade. The woman explained the upgrades to us and said that they had a handicap accessible room available in which we took because we wanted to get out of the yucky motel. When we got to the room, everything seemed fine other than that it wasn’t explained to us that it would be a little different. We didn’t have a nice shower and the bathroom was different. (Same price as regular room upgrade) The heating system didn’t work properly and both mornings we woke up to tons of construction sounds from the room above us. I called and complained, and it did not stop. It was going on pretty late at night as well. It was never explained to us that there would be construction in the room above our heads. We also had to call maintenance pretty late at night because our TV did not work and the phone did not work. They just weren’t hooked up or something. We upgraded to a better room and paid more money and it honestly didn’t seem that way. The towels in the room smelled weird also.

I cut my leg on the bed frame because it was missing a cover over a metal rod. I told hotel safe they were very kind but no one compensated me. I was unable to ski the next day due to injury which was upsetting

We had a great time. Having the restaurant and bar on location was really convenient & the bartender left the fire on outside so we could hang out outside & talk while she cleaned after her shift. The location was amazing for the fireworks & to be downtown in the action.

I want to be able to give a higher score, but cant. We got there and my wife started to check us in while I was gathering our things in the car and the lady told her she couldn’t help her and immediately picked up the phone and ignored her until I got in. She ended up being nice, but I didn’t like that. When we asked about our room not being in the main building and if it would be a long walk they told us it was only 10 feet away. True the building was, but our room was very far down the building and they did not tell us that it was very long and cold walk outside to a creepy old motel style corridor. When we went back in we paid to upgrade. A man named Tom was great he went out of his way to offer us a tour. The restaurant on sight had wonderful live music and sweet and helpful staff. They really made our night. The pool room was cold, had peeling paint everywhere, the hot tub was kind of cold, and the sauna had loose boards all over which made us a little nervous to sit. We left early because there was a very loud and consuming team of 10 year old girl basketball players screeching and running around the pool area like crazy. It was anything but relaxing.The rooms were nice and clean in the premium area. Could have used some kind of white noise in the room though. The heat fan wouldn’t stay on and there was nothing to toon out noises in the hotel like girls running around and being very loud late at night.

When we reserved room we got a grand room with mountain views. Not at all what we got. We got a room right off check in desk area with a wonderful veiw of the parking lot. Spent alot of money to veiw cars instead of what was offered. Next time we will call hotel direct and get the room we want.

I think I would consider this a 3-star stay by NYC standards but it was definitely 4-ish stars by upstate NY standards, even though I stayed in the annex that was very old-school motel looking. Clean. Modern bathroom. Good breakfast. Nice bar. Nice staff.

We booked a room at this hotel expecting a true four-star experience, but unfortunately, what we got was more like a two-star motel. The main four-star building was fully booked, and we were placed in one of the nearby motel-style buildings that are listed under the same hotel name. It was very disappointing and not what we expected when we made our reservation. The difference between the main hotel and the side buildings should be clearly explained when booking.

When we arrived the bedding was dirty, including dirt and a dark stain on the comforter. The bathroom was also dirty, the shower floor was specked with dirt and paint and the corners of the shower had reddish grime. We requested new bedding and the shower cleaned, the employee they sent did their best but was not normal housekeeping staff and wasn't equipped to deal with the dirty shower. Overall we were very disappointed with the state of our room when we arrived and won't be coming back.

We liked that the hotel was right by the lake and easy walk to town. The outside grounds were beautiful with plenty of places to sit and relax to look at the water

We did not like the lakeside restaurant for breakfast. The hostess was unpleasant. We sat for 30 minutes and no one took our order ..they kept walking by and saying someone would come. When the table next to us got the wrong food, we eventually left without eating there. We felt bad for the single waitress that clearly had no help.

Staff was great for our whole stay. Very friendly and attentive. The pool was very nice and you can't beat the location. Great walking distance to anything. The lobby area and outdoor areas were nice. The rooms are in desperate need of an update. The rooms are very outdated and uncomfortable. The beds were so worn there was no support left. You and the person you sleep with will roll into the middle of the bed like an air mattress. The pull out couch was unusable for my kid. The only thing left of it were springs. The couch itself didnt have support and was so worn you couldn't sit in it. I doubt they change the air filters in the wall AC units as the air came out with a musty smell. Bathrooms were very outdated. For the price, it's not worth it overall. I wouldn't go back unless they did some renovations.

It was ok, ice machine gave out ice with moldy black specks on the ice. The toilet would fill with water when another room flushed. Few bugs in the bathroom. Room door sticks so you need to slam it closed, this caused it to be very loud all night. Very expensive for just an average room.

I didn’t know there was a “motel” portion in addition to the main building. The Mountain View was really a parking lot view, while the bathroom was updated the rest of the room was tired, dark. No outlets, no usb outlets for chargers, the coffee and coffee maker you pay $19 “resort fee” for that comes with powder creamer and sweet n low (what is this the 70s) is horrible and weak. Pool not heated. Food service at pool ends at 4 and the walk to the restaurant to get food is long. Lakeside restaurant: chicken Marsala: overcooked fried chicken. Fried chicken is for Parmesan not Marsala. Morning breakfast we said we were in a hurry, waited and waited and had to get up and leave bc our waitress never checked and our order never went to the kitchen. I was expecting a lot more from a place that calls itself a resort to distinguish itself from the other motels on the Lake George strip but it was indistinguishable and I would have probably been happier and saved money at another place. Positive: location and view of lake from pool.

We couldn't ask for a better spot to spend our time in Lake George. Easily the most spectacular views of the lake. Comfortable accommodations, with great dining options on site, and great staff. There was something for everyone to feel welcome and entertained. Very family friendly (outdoor and indoor pools, plenty of green space,) while also having a fantastic veranda where you could relax, read a book, enjoy the lake views, and sip refreshments from the veranda bar. The location is a short walk to the lake walk, with shopping & restaurants. We look forward to returning.

The hotel was located right in town so everything was pretty much walking distance. Exactly what I need being 9 months pregnant. The hotel is large. It has a main stay in the main building which I will assume is updates and then off to the side in a separate building more rooms which we stayed in. Not updated but it served purpose. Would stay again but perhaps in the main building.

Pre Season Visit to Lake George

Our room was in a '50s style \"motel\" wing with a noisy thru wall heating/cooling unit. There was tremendous air leakage through and around the unit making the room cold unless the heat was on. The thermostat was erratic, so the room was either too warm or cold and drafty.

The shower had adequate flow, but the \"rainfall\" style meant poor angle and not enough force for good rinsing. The fixed panel shower enclosure was an inch or so too short, so water went onto the floor.

The cold, damp weather canceled the main activity that brought us to Lake George, so we checked out after 2 nights instead of 3. The hotel stuck adamantly to their cancelation policy, but we forfeited a day's fee rather than sit around in a drafty hotel room and drive home the next day in a storm. When we left, the parking lot was fairly full. I wonder if the hotel resold our room, effectively double dipping.
