We requested two beds, they said they were sold out and didn't have any. After the housekeepers came the first day they took the blanket off the end of our bed, we called to get it back and they returned with just two sheets saying they were out of blankets. I'm not sure why they took ours to begin with. The safe in our room was broken and didn't close.

The front desk staff were not informative. They didnt give us the wifi code, we thought it may have been on the info sheet that was in spanish, didnt notice till we got to the room. They do have it in english. Never asked if we were going to use the safe in the room. You need to get a bolt with a key in it, in order for the safe to work. They only put coffee out at 6.30 am. Sometimes not till 7, however they seem to forget the milk/cream. Never put out hotwater for tea, actuall no tea for 3 days. Just little things that could be tweaked by traing the staff. Only 2 small bottles of water left in the room, have to always ask for more. Suggestion, maybe 2 garrfon on each floor so people can refill their bottles and save on plastic containers. However the food was very good.

Requested a room over the quiet, adult pool via Expedia (in Spanish and English) and at check-in. The kid at the desk said “yes, we have a great room for you,” and it was above the noisy, obnoxious kids’ pool.
There aren’t nearly enough lounge chairs and umbrellas around the adult pool, and the rules about saving chairs are arbitrarily enforced. Several days people put towels on chairs all day and finally showed up late in the afternoon, or not at all. Other days the concierge ordered security to remove belongings at 7:30 am, when people had just stepped away for a moment.
They need to move the massage tent as it takes up prime real estate and was used all of about 3 hours during our stay.
The food at the buffet was improved over last year, with a little more variety, and they added “tea time” some days, and some fruit snacks.
People smoked in the private beach area and put cigarettes out in the sand, with no cleanup - that was disrespectful and disgusting.

Bar staff is good. Front desk staff are not good, we requested a late checkout because half the services were shut down for 3 days and a cerfew of 10pm was put on one night and everyone ordered to their rooms. They wouldn't accommodate us at all and charged us 1290 mxn for the late check out. They agreed to dropping that fee to 840 mxn, but then took that offer back and charged us 1290 mxn. The snack shack was closed for 3 days along with multiple bars and restaurants. The buffet and snack shack had birds flying around and eating from food trays while staff looked on and even fed them from the table. We found cockroaches in our room. Overall a bad stay and this place should be shutdown for sanitary reasons.

food wasn't great.. same thing daily.. Ataff don't speak english. Public areas have very loud music and/ or loud speaking on microphone .. too much loud noise. We also experience the lockdown as the cartel attacked and set fires to several places. We had to find out info on our own as staff didn't tell us anything.

Not a lot nice to say about the hotel. The staff were nice. No restaurants, a buffet that has next to nothing. Drinks are drinks. Pool was small, not many bars. Wasn’t even cheap enough to make it worth while. We basically slept there and just went to town for anything fun.

It's an old hotel and I love it, mainly because of the great staff. The porters, such as Martin and Tomas, are there to greet you upon arrival and help you with your bags. The waiters in the restaurants, such as Aristeo, Chris, Miquel, Alfredo and too many other to mention, are so very helpful. And then there's David, bartender extraordinaire.

The hotel location is terrific and I return each year. There are some nice touches, such as the Spanish coffee station that is set up each day from 5-6 p.m. Yum!

Once note, though, is that there were a couple of new women at Reception when we arrived, who were unaccommodating and abrupt. All of the others, who've been there for years, have great customer service skills, which I hope will get passed onto the new staff members at Reception.

The great thing about this resort is the location, close to the Malecon and nice beaches. It is also very clean. The buffet however left a lot to be desired. There were also very noisy games and even a Mariachi band at 8 am on a Sunday. One night, there was a drunk lady knocking on doors and screaming at 4 am and I tried to call the front desk but the hotel room phone was not even working! It was disappointing. Overall an okay stay, good value for the money, but nothing remotely fancy or luxurious about it.

The place is very dated. Only one bar with 8 seats in the lobby at nighttime. No coffee or sports bar. The snack bar was over cooked meats and bland.
The staff working at the dining room were good but the food was the EXACT same salads and meat groups all week , chicken , fish pork.
The nickel and dining and CHARGING to watch the SuoerBowl for $25 per person USD in the snack bar was the cherry on the cake.
Save your money and don’t stay here.

Martin welcomed us when we first arrived and he set the mood for a great week. Food and bar staff were outstanding, thanks to Miguel who got to know our family, our favourite table and drinks. Room staff kept our rooms clean.
Beach was outstanding and we had a great family vacation. The aquafit ladies Karla and Brenda were very enthusiasm and happy to be there.

Overall the resort is very nice. It is smaller with fewer amenities than others but we preferred that. 2 main pools, 1 for adults only and 1 for families. We enjoyed the family pool as it had music and activities throughout the day. Both pools were very clean. We never really had trouble finding a poolside chair, it didn’t get very busy during our stay. Our room was on the south side of the resort above the burger station. Amazing views but very noisy. During the day is normal noises but at nighttime we found it very, very noisy with carts rolling around and kitchen prep? The room was very clean and spacious. One thing we would say is negative is that there is no mini fridge in your room. It made it hard to store your own food or drinks from the store, they also don’t have room service and you’re not allowed to bring food out of the dining areas. I’d recommend fridges so people have the choice to bring their own food and drinks and store it. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

The food overall was very good! If you’re staying for an extended period of time you may grow tired of it as it’s very similar food each day but it was all very good. We never got sick. A warning though, the birds are out in full force during breakfast, if you’re not watching your food they will pick at it. So be cautious with what you grab and don’t leave your food unattended.

We will stay again in the future for sure. It is in a great location.

Only problem we had was the noise. Night and day activities are right outside the rooms and they have the speakers way louder than they need. All the people working there were great, always friendly. The suppers where you needed reservations were great also. If you stay here bring earplugs!

We went as two 50 plus adults. Adults pool was very nice and quiet with a similar age group. The entertainment was amazing and would do kids/family pool stuff but also adults entertainment at their pool.
The resort is small if you’re looking for that. Which we were. Rooms are dated but clean and comfortable. All the staff was great. Food was good. We thought it was great while others we talked to weren’t too fussy on it. Maybe they are used to a 5 star resort. The dinner buffet wasn’t too kid friendly for fussy kids.
I can’t speak for families but as an older adult we loved it! Definitely would go back.

When we first arrived, checking in at the office I initially thought what the hell are we in for.
However, our room was great
One patio door led to a patio looking strait out at the ocean.
We also had a patio door looking straight out to the pool
The staff were great
Thomas was fantastic
Guadalupe made sure we were happy by the pool with beverages
Saul with the entertainment group was so much fun

This is an older, rustic, more Mexican type of resort.
If you are the Beverly Hills Hilton type of person, don’t book here
If you are more laid back with the glass half full type of person
Las Palmas is a fine resort

Food always seems to be an issue when it comes to reviews.
We had no problem always finding something to eat.

Very very bad hotel,,,they charged me extra money for my booking room which is they showed you a different room other than that I booked before n then to get my original room I had to pay that extra money cuz I had no choice & I don’t know how to say this but the food was really disgusting inside the hotel n I end up eating outside the hotel for my total days that I stayed there,,,I will not recommend this place to anyone unless if you really like to breathe n smell a raw eggs all day long.

This resort is adorable! So fun and authentic! We love the easy access to town and being able to walk places. The food is good plenty of fruit and the omelette and sandwiches rocked! The water pressure was great. The staff was amazing very authentic and fun. Hugo rocked as our pool side bartender. Would stay again. Water aerobics was amazing too super fun! Beach was super fun and easy access. Only recommendation was to bring eye mask as it is pretty light in the rooms.

The room is dated and needs alot of up keep but it was very clean. The cleaning staff do an amazing job and are very friendly. The hotel is very unique covered in large palapas and the adults only pool is very nice with beautiful Palm Trees. The serving staff are very friendly and want to make your stay memorable. The only downside to our stay was a few vacationers hog the loungers by putting their towels on them early in the morning and then disappearing until later in the day and in doing so are depriving other quests of enjoying the pool side area. There was a lot of food but some of it was questionable as to flavor and texture. Best location on the beach though.

The hotel is good value for money. Very clean with nice facilities- pool, spa (massage), and rooms. Excellent location close to downtown and on the beach.

The a la carte dining options were great and the New Years Eve Party exceptional. But the food offered in the buffet was mediocre at best and never changed from day to day.

This isn't a complaint but a comment- if you do not speak Spanish, this is not the hotel for you. Most staff members, including the front desk and guest services do not speak English. Most guests are Mexican tourists, which is great because they are friendly and lots of fun, but as a result resort programming had very limited English.

This was surprising to me because of the many visits I have made to Vallarta over the years I have found almost all people working in tourism to have excellent English.

A language barrier is one thing but on a few occasions it seemed staff did not want to assist us at all because we did not speak Spanish. This was particularly evident during check out when we asked if there was somewhere we could leave our luggage as we had a late flight. We were told no. As we were standing in the lobby trying to decide what to do- we were approached by the bell hop who was very happy to take our luggage into storage.

This was our 7th stay at Las Palmas. We were happy to see.many of.the great long time staff still here. Guadalupe at the Buffet in the morning, and then on to Pool side drink service in the afternoon id THE MAN! Edgar is always there with a smile to take care of you. We had a couple of newcomers doing a great job at the buffet also. Daniel and Alondra \"Pumpkin\", are very good servers. Ignacio was also a good server. All of the afternoon and evening bartenders are all very personable and mix good drinks. Martin and the other bellman are hardworking men. Martha, longtime houskeeper took wonderful care of us daily. We always found.something good to eat at each meal. Fresh omelets, pancakes, and much more for breakfast. Many choices for lunch and dinner. We enjoyed the 2 ala cart restaurants were both good. The Chef at the italian restaurant treated us very special on our last night. We were pleased with everyone at the front desk,and had the opportunity to meet and say thanks to several management staff behind the scenes. We knew what to expect for rooms and enjoyed our week long vacation.

We really enjoyed our time. We stayed 11 nights. The first night we didnt arrive until 7ish at night. The front counter staff were not helpful. They didnt tell us where to go, they didnt explain where anything was nor did they give us the lock for the safe. They have us the brochure with all the info in Spanish. We went back down and they finally gave us one in english. We really enjoyed the small authentic feel to the place. Theres not a huge selection of food, but whats there is delicious. . I would definitely recommend people to bring ear plugs for bedtime, as the rooms are not sound proof at all. The hotel is very family friendly, so its loud alll the time. Rooms are very clean ! Also the night time entertainment was not the best . We loved some of it like the authentic mexican dancing . But other nights we not so great . .

The AC in room are horrible. Barley get cold. Only one outlet in the room. Room smelled like sewer. Food was horrible and plain. Got sick from food. Drinks and food not worth the all inclusive price. Bar cups not properly sanitized between guests. The cups were just rinsed. Got 3 rooms between me and family. The only thing I enjoyed was the view and pool. Main lobby smelled horrible. Never will go back or recommend.

This is an aging property with an overall good staff—especially in the kitchen and wait staff. The food ranges from good to very good. The rooms were good and the maid service was excellent. It can be noisy at night because of the public beach. You may need to call down to the lobby to have security quiet the public and/or guests after 11 PM. The general manager was responsive when expressing concerns, but the lobby personnel were only adequate.

Staff is very helpful and friendly other their staff that works with their local timeshare companies are a little pushy
The only cons are no mini fridges in room no microwaves, did see some bugs only seen in the bathroom when using in the middle of the night, but they are small so it looks like they are on it and try to take care of it but we all have to remember it’s a beach resort in a jungle area

But besides all that I would stay here again it’s budget friendly in a great area walking distance from stores and pharmacies and other restaurants outside of the resort to try

The only positive is that the bar staff was great. I am genuinely surprised that this place has nearly 4 stars, as my experience was far from satisfactory.
I called ahead to confirm that the hotel had ample parking for guests and was assured there was plenty available. However, upon arrival, I found only 10 to 15 parking spaces for the entire hotel, which were also used by the staff.
At check-in, I requested to add an additional guest to my reservation. The front desk agent was unhelpful and insisted it was not possible to make changes, even though I was willing to pay the difference. It took nearly an hour for him to finally agree to make the changes.
My family and I had planned a full family vacation, booking a total of six rooms for the entire week. Two of these rooms were mine—one for my wife and me, and the other for our kids. One of our rooms had a strong smell of humidity, and the air conditioning in both rooms did not work properly, failing to cool the rooms. In one of my brother-in-law's rooms, the ceiling in the shower started dripping water, and the air conditioning was also not functioning. Another brother-in-law's room experienced an overflowing shower, causing water to spill into the room. None of the six rooms we rented had working air conditioning.
During lunch one day, one of my kids started feeding the birds. A staff member approached rudely and yelled at my child, telling him to stop immediately or face a fine from the hotel. Instead of addressing the issue with me.

Loved this hotel but what disappointed me was that the servers in the main restaurant never once came near my table to ask did I want a drink. You had to hope and pray that you would catch their eye and signal for their attention. Very disappointing as you’re eating a meal with no drink to wash it down. Hate to complain as they cleaning staff, bell boys were amazing.

All the staff were awesome and polite, The young security gaurd gives weird looks and we just ignored him. I would avoid the tours people on the main floor, they try to over sell whatever you ask for. We wanted tickets for Hop On Hop Off city tour and she tried to get us to have breakfast with her in 2 days time and wouldn't say why we needed to do that. Maybe timeshare sales crap. The a/c in our room would only work on low fan speed so we asked the manager to fix it and they never did anything about it. It was uncomfortably hot in our room - not nice in July! The food is good, but not a lot of variety and no bacon at breakfast. This hotel is 100% Mexican clientelle and Canadians and Americans won't really enjoy this hotel. I don't want to be overly harsh, but it is pretty dated. The most annoying thing at the hotel is the man doing the activities at the pool. He loves to hear himself talk and does so at the highest volume level of the speakers. It's so loud you can't talk to the person sitting next to you at the pool. I could hear him in our room on the other side of the hotel. Same with the Kareokee in the lobby. They turned the bass up so much that things were rattling in our room. As a Canadian I wouldn't stay there again, but I think the Mexican people really liked it. Different strokes for different folks.

I don't know why there are complaints about the food. It was excellent! Many choices if you want American food or Mexican. The waiters were awesome and always there to get you drinks or anything else. The beach was beautiful and sandy, no rocks at all except where the property line was marked. Pools were nice. Night time show was fun and ended by 10 pm so no noise problems after that. Fun walk along a river/pond that does have an alligator in residence. Had no problem finding a pool side chair, but the ones on the beach were usually taken. Loved it here and would come back again.

A pleasant stay, thank you! Very family friendly and comfortable, with delicious food, excellent drinks, and friendly staff. The facilities need some love (e.g., the pool tiles are coming off, there is damage from wear and tear in places), but the staff ensure it is all kept clean and comfortable. Happy that we chose this resort.

No parking if you rent a car and they can call you 1 or 2 am to move it. To much noise some areas at 4rd floor very late at night and very early in the morning too if you stay close to the area the workers pass. Not happy for my 3 night no sleep, no rest

It is a pleasant place to stay if on a budget or even going for a less than 3 days. But for preference there were a lot of things I would have changed. 1st they have so many rules for it to be an outdated hotel 2nd They provide 2 room keys and to have fresh air in the room a key has to be connected to a scanner the whole time for the air to stay on. 3rd They have a crocodile by the beach in a pond of water. So when it rained the crocodile went into the ocean. 4th the food is not the best they have some dishes that are okay but not wow. 5th you have to pay for Mariscos (it was good)

No it what I had expected from viewing pictures on line. It was okay, but I would have fathered stayed at a nicer resort for my first time to PVR. Rooms are small and had a musty smell. We found a slug in our room on the last morning before check out. All inclusive drinks were not very good. It rained a lot and the front of the hotel flooded, after shopping in town we had to walk in the nasty water. I wouldn’t stay here.

Brenda and Estphanie were the highlight of this resort — fun, kind, and gave excellent massages. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was disappointing.

Check-in was awkward. The front desk told us the snack bar cost extra (not true) and acted confused when we asked for two room keys. No one warned us about crocodiles on the beach — we saw two in three days, including near the volleyball court. It’s a safety hazard with no fencing.

Our first room had mold on a mattress, dirty floors, sand in the beds, and a filthy bathroom. Staff tried to charge us to switch rooms until I showed them photos. The beach was also a letdown: broken bottles, garbage, and fishing hooks dangerously left in the rocks. I was stung by a blue button jellyfish and the first aid staff made it worse by using ice water — not proper medical treatment.

Breakfast lines were long, toaster electrocutes you, and staff were rude.
When I tried to get food from the snack bar at 11, even though the food laid out ready at the snack bar, I was yelled at and kicked out and told to wait an hour to eat. The nightly shows were entirely in Spanish, with no effort to include non-Spanish speakers — we weren’t even told the safety rules.

At checkout, they remove your wristband and you’re no longer allowed to use any facilities. The “day pass” offer felt like a joke. I’ve never cried on a vacation before — this place did it twice. Avoid this resort if you’ve ever been on a real vacation. I truly regret coming here.

Not swanky, bougey or the place to go for your dream vacation. The place needs some updated, the food is just OK and it lacks some amenities like fitness centre. But, I was looking for a quiet place to lay low for a few days and decompress. It's perfect for that. Quiet, clean and very friendly staff.

We recently spent three nights at Las Palmas by the Sea, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The resort’s beachfront location in Puerto Vallarta’s South Hotel Zone is ideal, offering easy access to the beach and nearby attractions. The beach area was clean and easily accessible. The resort features two pools, including an adults-only pool, which provided a relaxing environment.

This resort was great for the price. Just didn’t enjoy the actual room. There were no amenities in the room like a mini fridge or coffee pot and the living room furniture was old and worn m, but the bed was very nice . The pool, the staff, and all inclusive were amazing. Again great for the price.

Las Palmas was almost perfect, but our complaints are minimal. We stayed there in mid-April, before the weather turns too hot and before mosquito season. The cool evenings were wonderful, especially letting the breeze blow into your room with the balcony door open. The food was always delicious and varied enough that you could avoid eating the same thing twice in a row, and the drinks were pretty good and plentiful. My kids loved the piñadas (virgin piña coladas). The pool was refreshing during the middle of the day and the cleaning staff were very accommodating. We weren’t thrilled about the timeshare upsell we kept getting from some folks posted at the entrance, but being firm made our intentions clear. The only other thing we didn’t like was the lack of air movement in our room at night. It gets stuffy and warm quickly. One or two changes would make the experience excellent, especially for summer guests: 1) ceiling fans in the rooms to get air moving overnight, and 2) a lockable screen door on the glass balcony door, to let air into your room while keeping out the insects (and the resident cats!).

Amazing stay at Las Palmas! Everyone was SO welcoming. Smaller resort so not a ton of food options, but everything we had was good. Nightly entertainment. And David the bartender in the lobby was the BEST.

Resort is definitely more locals, and we should have practiced our Spanish, but everyone spoke at least a little English and were so encouraging when we tried to learn. Completely our fault we didn’t try to learn more before we went 🙂

Would highly recommend, cannot wait to return!

Most of it was great. The real dealbreaker here is the food quality. It was poor and left a lot to be desired. I guess that’s just the norm for all-inclusive. The installations were beautiful. There was a lot of noise until late but that’s just normal as well for these establishments. My 2 cents are don’t get the all inclusive just buy the lodging and eat elsewhere.
