The Gran Hotel is an historical property.
It badly needs updating/remodelling. My 5-night stay was marked by a serious leak in the bathroom, which management wanted to wait to repair. ( One substitute room could not be entered due to a faulty door.)There is clear evidence of management weakness, with many examples of employee turnover. Breakfast is ok , served in the hotel's basement restaurant but without much enthusiasm or smiles...no toaster in this restaurant. Sr Umberto, a bellman, was a bright spot..a nice man with more than 30 years' experience at the Gran Hotel.

Beautiful property but the homeless in front of the hotel is scary after 10 pm …and the service at the cafeteria was terrible they don’t have idea how to treat the customers and the food was ok the eggs in the morning looks old and cooked by any server not by a chef so they have to pay attention on this part is very important for the reputation

Nice friendly staff. unfortunately our room did not have A/C, And the bathroom door was just to old so there was lot's of water on the floor every time after taking a shower..And they plenty of vacant rooms and the girl at the front desk did not want to give us one.

Rude ladies at reception upon entry. Acted as if checking us in was an inconvenience. Not welcoming at all. Neglected to return passport after check in. Weird room setup - giant out-of-place fridge, that wasn’t even turned on taking up space. A SOWING NEEDLE WAS LAYING ON THE SHEET THAT WE DISCOVERED UPON LIFTING THE BED COVER. When we brought the needle down to reception and brought the incident to the attention of the male receptionist in the morning, he acted nonchalantly about it and simply showed it to another staff member but didn’t apologize or say a single word to us about it. Avoid this hotel.

This hotel was very nice. It had a lot of in-house amenities such as spa, bar, and I also liked the air conditioning and hot shower in the morning. It was walking distance to many dining options and was located a quick 15 minute ride to the airport

I made 2 reservations in 2 differents cities and both of them were not right because I made the reservation for 4 people for one room with two beds and they came out to be for 2 people instead of 4 once I got to the hotel so I end paying more money then I was supposed to.

the hotel has gone down in value, in my opinion...no room key available, shower water leaking onto floor, reception delaying departure for a missing bottle of water (hotel's mistake)...unfortunately Colombians are known for their distrust, and this hotel, which I had stayed at various times previously, was no exception.

Hotel double charge for tax, Expedia reservation taxes was already included in the price to stay in the hotel. Also at time of leaving the hotel the customer service desk charged in the credit card drinks that was already paid cash.
No air condition room, clock radio does not work, no table lamps, not enough place to put make up/

We were very happy with our stay at the Gran Hotel Pereira. Our check-in went smoothly and I was quite relieved that the woman at the front desk spoke a little English and was very sweet and welcoming. The hotel is beautiful, clean and met our needs nicely.

The complimentary hotel breakfast was very good and included fresh cooked eggs to order, various breads, fruit, cheese, coffee and a choice of various fruit juices. The overall service throughout our stay was very good although at times I struggled because my Spanish is a little rusty and some of the employees do not speak much English. Overall we had a very pleasant and comfortable stay at the Gran Hotel Pereira.

Always enjoy staying at a \"Gran Hotel\"! Friendly greeting as you enter the spacious lobby. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Daily breakfast similar but filling. Restaurant serves a very tasty Almuerzo.
As in the majority of El Centro Hotels there is the issue of noise but it is the center of activity for the city!

The first thing that went wrong, they gave me a room with 3 beds I requested one bed, second they gave me a room with one bed but no air conditioning this is a hot city,and third they charged mi more than what was written in my reservation through Hotels .com, their justification was that when one make a reservation the taxes and additional room charges are not included, I cancelled my reservation and went two block up the street and booked through Hotels.com Hotel Soratama where they honored the rate I was given by Hotels.com.

A couple of employees spoke limited English. Has free wi-fi that is fairly fast. 2 blocks from the central square. Plenty of small stores close by. Hotel is very secure and at night the street in front of it is safe but do not recommend walking very far alone at night. The beds are nice with plenty of covers but the mattresses are very firm. LCD tv's in suites are nice addition. Hooked my laptop to it for movies.

Gran Pereira Hotel

This Hotel has a lot of Charm, and is within two blocks from the center of Town. Also, the hotel is walking distance to several shopping centers, but be careful at night. Hotel staff were very accomodating and the level of service was excellent. I Reserved the Special Suite which was a very large room with a balcony. The hotel, the rooms, and the furnishings are a bit dated, but that is part of the charm of the property. The only complaint is that the beds were very hard. Everynight, my wife placed the cushions from the sofa on the bed so it would be a little easier to sleep. However, that being said, this was a great property, especially fro the price of a suite.
