I didn't check in to the hotel. The hotel was not accessible to customers. The road to the hotel was messed up due to road construction. There was raining and it was muddy. The ride was not able to drive to the hotel entrance. Then I returned back without entering to the hotel.

Great place for the money. Fantastic service!

So my phone got stolen out of my pocket my first day walking around Meskel Square, but I can't hold the hotel staff responsible for that. The service was really fantastic. Members of staff lent me their personal phones to use and, when it was a cold night and I asked for an extra blanket, the staff remembered the next day and made the bed with the extra blanket again. I didn't sleep much due to jetlag and wild dogs barking intermittently at all hours of the night, but again, I can't hold the staff responsible for that. The hotel restaurant was good and reasonably priced. The only real flaws of this place were:

1. No one knows where it is (tell them it's near the Gollagul Tower), though I don't know if that's helpful if you yourself don't know where you're going.

2. The hotel is down a short stretch of really terrible road that taxis have to skillfully crawl over. Apparently, it's been like this for years.

3. The shower, while providing hot water, provided \"Ethiopia-level\" water pressure i.e. a trickle.

Electricity and wifi off more than on with no fixing. what is the deal? It’s a hotel in 2019 with no regular working electricity? Room with kitchen is not a kitchen. It is a kitchen sink.

Great value for money, some maintenance needed

Overall, when comparing this hotel to other hotels in the same price range, this hotel is a great value for money. It's clean, has a convenient location, restaurant, free breakfast, Wifi all of which you would not necessarily expect when paying under 30 USD.
The only thing I would advise the owner is to invest in more solid equipment, especially in the bathroom. The plastic toilet covers break, the soap holder falls off, the shower head is falling apart etc. It pays off in the long term...Also the access road is bumpy and not paved for the last 50-100 m, not much to do about it, just expect it.

The breakfast (buffé) was good but with not soo much variety of meat. The other food that was on order was definitely not good and not cooked well. It has to be more professional cooking. Another thing was that in the website it said ”shuttle from to the airport included” was not true and there was no comment at all.

Usually, I have positive experience in Ag; however I requested the broken screen tv to be replaced and they never did. In addition hot water heater in bathroom not working and I requested a fix they agreed but didn't fix before checkout (freezing showers). internet connection incredibly poor (possibly network problems).

Not so great stay.. Breakfast is very little selection and low in quantity, and too oily..and on top the owner is right there with judging looking eyes when you are going to get breakfast.. Service is extremely poor, location is right in shanty area with poor access to cars.. This is just bed and breakfast type place with the owner and family living right there with the guests and hanging out in the lobby area leaving little comfort to guests.. Rooms are very very tiny and TV screen size is so small like 19 inch or so.. I would only stay in the place if the price is less than $10 per night..

We stay in AG palace whenever we come to Addis for holiday. It’s always a pleasure to stay here. It’s easy to access the hotel from any corner of the city. The hotel is clean and well maintained and we got what we paid for. We enjoyed our complimentary breakfast.

Access and security are very good. Stuff and guard man are staying 24 hours at the entrance. Some of facilities are a bit broken, and sometimes WIFI is not working. But every time, you can use hot water. Restaurant is expensive. You can enjoy cheaper and better dishes in the Afropolitan Hotel, the neighborhood of this hotel.

The Owner & staff were friendly, accommodating & positive attitude! This was amazing! Everyone was friendly and willing to help when needed.
WiFi was basically non-existing. It worked, but was spotty. I hardly used it, because it was so unreliable.
Breakfast was basic.
Rooms were comfortable.
The location is Great, with the exception of the street it's located on.
I would stay again, and I recommend for staying!

The hotel is fine overall. Yet, the carpet in the room was very dirty and old. At one time I am sure the hotel was very nice, but they have not kept up with maintenance. The door handle/lock on my room was falling off. When I mentioned it they said they would fix it the next day. They didn't offer to move me to another room, nor did they fix it. The shower holder was broken, no towel rack, and again, the carpet was horrible. The bathroom was clean. No room service, WIFI didn't work most of the time. Staff is pleasant and got a taxi for me. Food is typical of Ethiopia...not very good in my opinion.....very bland. Overall the stay was fine for a couple of nights. Basically quiet.

I was bit by bed bug for two nights. On the second night I was awaken by itching at midnight, I turned the table light on.Soon there came the second bit, this time I caught and killed the fat bug that filled with my blood. After more than an hour I fell asleep, but an hour later, I was bit and awoke again. Next morning I told the receptionist what was happened last night,she did not show surprise, neither said sorry for that. She just promised me that somebody would spread drug to kill the bugs. They did keep their promise, I got a sound sleep on the third night.

Ag Palace was a very nice place to stay in Addis Ababa. Clean room and bed. Generally quiet, and I'm pretty noise sensitive. Hot water was actually HOT. Wifi. A couple of minor loose fixture issues in the bathroom, but everything worked. room cleaning daily.
The front desk staff was easy going, pleasant and helpful. Really nice people. One staff member went out of her way to help me buy a cellphone at a local stand. The free breakfast in the lobby was a pleasant bonus if ok food.
Hotel location isn't exactly central but it isn't bad. it's a spread out city. As other reviews mention, hotel is on a bumpy dirt side-road. This might be offputting to some, but I didn't care really. This seems not uncommon in Addis: half the city seems unpaved. And I didn't have any trouble at any hour.
The hotel will call a cab for you as needed and you negotiate the fare. Also, down the hill the road opens onto the major east/west avenue of addis, lots of cabs, with the caveat that explaining to Addis cabbies where you want to go takes some practice.. On the other side of the big ave (you have to cross down at the train stop) is a coffee place \"Abyssinia\" and a small supermarket in that same building which was handy for basic amenities.

Not Good for Business

The hotel is not worth it- pictures and quite a number of reviews are misleading. Hotel is located in a rural-like area, road leading to hotel is unpaved, muddy and pumpy, rooms are overall small and unclean, carpet is dirty and hase been there for decades. You dont feel comfortable to walk barefoot on the room floor. I requested to get my room changed, the new room was no different. Towels and bed sheets are not white anymore- over used and over washed. I slept with my cloth on including my jeans and shirt.
The wifi is very week and unstable.
Staff are the only beautiful part of this hotel. Very politie and very helpless. One extra good thing is the hot water in the shower and tap.
I dont recommend any one to stay in this hotel.
Not worth the money and will insist for a refund of at least 50% of the room fees.

The hotel is on a street in a local neighborhood, and, therefore, is quiet. Some staff speak English well and are quite helpful; others try even though their English is limited. Good breakfast. The train is a few minutes walk away, and there are good directions for using it to get to the main sites. Shola Market is about a twenty-minute walk away. Good wi-fi. The only down side to the hotel is that there is no lift; so, if you are not yet adjusted to the altitude, the walk to the upper floors can be challenging.

I vacated this hotel after spending just a few hours in the room. The hotel was so terrible that we could not even spend one night there and Left to find another hotel. The bathroom had a leak from somewhere so the floor was completely wet. The hotel did not offer to fix the problem, instead electing to mop up the water, which returned after an hour. The bedside lamp on one side had a broken mechanism so could not be switched on. The internet/wifi was not working from the moment we got there, despite assurances that it was \"working, but very slow\". On multiple devices we were unable to use the internet or apps. The general upkeep of the room was bad, with carpet stains, stale smell, etc. The alternate room they offered was previously used by a smoker as a smoke smell permeated the room and there were cigarette burns on the carpet. Also, one bedside lamp had a lampshade and light fitting that were physically broken at the neck, so that the light bulb hung over its side, potentially very dangerous electrocution risk as the wires were exposed. The general attitude of the staff was simply too relaxed for the sheer terribleness of the experience we had. They were not proactive at all (e.g., no attempt to get a plumber or any explanation re the bathroom leak) and whenever I walked down to reception to address another issue, the lobby was unmanned and I had to find the staff at the back.

Nice hotel. Nothing fancy but clean, safe and comfortable. No elevator or floor level rooms from what I can see so keep that in mind if you need those services. I really enjoyed this hotel. It is on a local street that is not paved and might seem a little ify for Westerners but it is totally safe! Just beware that local taxi drivers might not know the place but they will get you there eventually. They may just have to ask for directions. No actual hotel shuttle but they arranged a taxi for us. I will be staying here again.

The hotel is not in the city Center, but there is a good connection with the tram to the City Center (not to the Airport). However, this tram may be overcrowded.
The price for a yellow taxi from the Airport to the Hotel is about 300 birr.

I have no idea what the place looks like inside as I di dnot even enter. I chose to walk away even after paying. It is absolutely out in the middle of no where, down a dirt road in the outskirts of Addis. You would never find a taxi in the neighbourhood, let alone a restaurant or anything endearing.

I spent two weeks at this hotel during a recent humanitarian trip to Addis. Genet and her team run a tight ship and the service was excellent. When my bags were lost by Ethiopian Air, Ganet helped me track them with the airline and then found a great driver to help me replace my lost clothes.

The rooms were very clean and attended to by the cheerful cleaning staff. The room had a refrigerator, hot pot and coffee service.

This hotel is very close to two major roads, by the access road on which the hotel is located is in very poor condition. I've heard that it is scheduled to be paved, but it is currently gravel and there are some shanties nearby. Addis isn't a town that many tourists feel comfortable roaming around on foot, so the road isn't really much of an issue. I kept a card for the hotel in my wallet and had my drivers call for directions for the first few days. After that, I could easily direct them on my own. We frequently walked to nearby restaurants at night and didn't have any problems, although it's quite dark and inexperienced travelers might not be comfortable doing that. I was actually amazed how little attention people paid to us. In other African nations where I've travelled the harassment can be quite overwhelming. Not so in Addis.

The restaurant is better than expected and offers local, western and eastern dishes. The included breakfast featured pancakes, fruit, cereal, and more than a dozen other multinational dishes.

I think this hotel is totally good except the shower water problem. shower water is leaking from the shower room, so it's uncomfortable to go to the toilet after taking a shower. they should repair the shower room.

I booked for my husband and daughter as I stayed here before.
Sadly, staff didn't respond very well having a child at the hotel.
It was booked as one adult and one child aged one.
Apparently, the hotel staff refused to clean the room.
How can I do anything?
The room was paid in full in advance and I am working in my country.
It is as if the hotel can hold you to ransom and treat you any way they feel.
I have booked many hotels on your website so I find this attitude horrendous.

I stay in Addis for a week every month. Due to a large international conference many places were fully booked and so I stayed here. I won't be going back it was the worst hotel I've stayed in Addis.

Nice hotel but poor access road

A great hotel but access to it was difficult indeed.
It may be a bit overvalued because of this.
The administration was a bit bureaucratic. Imagine
waking me up for 30 cents due to the hotel's mistake!!!
But there was hot water, wifi access and a clean room.
This hotel should not cost more than 40 dollars.

Great Value

basic no frills hotel with everything you would need at a great price. The only knock would be the location of the hotel. It is on a back dirt road away from the main street. Some cabs have a hard time finding it because of its secluded location. Overall a good stay.

A little hot for someone from non-tropical zone.

That's my first visit to Addis Ababa, I think my experience of heat might be a little beyond the accommodation. The hotel is nice, But they may do something about ventilation or air-conditioning to make people from temparate zone to feel more at home. Again my experinece of heat might depend on the season. Somebody who visits the place during wet/rainy season shall surely have a different note.

Freeze

Very affraid first but reassured in the end

I was thinking that the hotel was in a nice place. Arrived in Bole airport at 2:00 pm I took a taxi, when the taxi turned in a dark and a bad road i began to be afraid. But non problem we get the hotel I entered in my room. The hotel did not say that it was in a dark and bad place. That is my only blame on this hotel.
