Only downside for us was the music coming from the nightclub over the road late at night but we got used to it after a few days. Ideal for a chilled out beach holiday

Nightclub hell

My partner and I have just returned from a weeks holiday. The hotel itself is beautiful, the garden area, restaurant and bar are maintained to high standard. The rooms are adequate and functional, the air con was excellent. The sea view is amazing. However the nightclub across from the hotel ruined our stay, the music was so loud it could be heard all over the complex , this was every night until 5.30 am every morning, locals would then spill out onto the beach and in cars outside the hotel to continue partying. We did complain but nothing could be done apparently.
The cleaning staff did come to clean the room but instead of clean towels ,the damp towels were folded and placed on the bed, to give the impression that these were clean fresh towels. The bar area only serves hot food until 3.30pm after this time they serve ready made sandwiches, pizza and panini's. The food in the restaurant is wonderful but very expensive and you can only have drinks from the restaurant menu not from the bar. A music event was put on in the bar one night , there was no information about this around the hotel, this meant that no food was available other than pizza and all the tables were reserved.The hotel is very remote, although it does state a 15min walk to the town, which is absolutely fine. It doesn't state that its a trek up long,steep hills to get there. The beach isn't private as stated ,its only the sunbeds and parasols, with an additional charge that belong to the hotel.

We would have liked to give this hotel a great recommendation however the noise from the open air nightclub next door makes this impossible.
It wasn’t just a distant dance beat, it was loud enough that we could Shazam the songs!
Our room was at the far end of the complex so nowhere is free from the noise and it went on until 5am in the morning…then we had to put up with the clientele leaving and drunkenly shouting in the street. We got zero sleep.
It’s such a shame as the staff, gardens and setting are lovely.
Please check out the nightclub online to see when they stay open until 5am…I believe this is only at the weekend. On the Thursday night we stayed the music was from bar and stopped at 11pm.

Nice resort with good swimmingpool and beach
The beach directly at the hotel is NOT the private beach area. This is a public beach. If you want the small private beach, you need to pay 20 EUR p.p. extra for transport and beds/umbrella.

Rooms are good but our toilet was one from hell. In the middle of the night it made soo much noise that it was scary.

Besides that, breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. San Teodoro is around 15 min was and really fun during the evening (all kind of shops and a market).

I didn't like that it was not clear that our unit was not part of the physical hotel location. It was offsite. I wasn't expecting to have what could have been an Air BNB. Not a long walk to main hotel but still inconvenient. I think it's important to describe this at time of booking. Otherwise everything else was very good.

Fab, yet little things would make it wonderful

Very clean. Pool and beach were perfect with showers in between which is convenient. Better beaches by getting on the free bus or payable buses.
All beaches, including this one, charge sunbeds. Get a pool sunbed and go between, or just take a towel to save money.

Staff helpful most of the time. Limited English and our limited Italian can sometimes make us feel judged or like they're getting frustrated with us. Other times, really friendly and try and accommodate. Food at the snack bar was disappointing /great depending on the day. Never had toasties unfortunately. Once, chips were soft, reheated yet lukewarm, gross! Another time, boiling hot and perfect!

Drinks were good, local beer is great value. Views were fantastic. Beautiful flowers everywhere. Sea views.

Short 15 minute walk to town, up and down a hill. Easy, can't get lost.

Fridge and air con is great.

This property is stunning. It’s right on the beach. Has a beautiful restaurant on site. Great breakfast buffet. Great air conditioning in rooms. Has a nice inground pool. The grounds are stunning and well kept. It’s only a 10 minute walk to a very vibrant town that wakes up at night. It’s a total vacation town! Please be aware that the walk to the town is uphill, which is fine if you are able bodied. It’s the best area to stay for the beaches of North east Sardinia. We enjoyed the walk up the hill to the town and back to the hotel after eating delicious Italian food, this place is a great value and the services they provide ensure that you visit the right places and go to the perfect beaches. The front desk and Stella are very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. I want to give this place the best rating possible however there’s a Disco tech next-door on the beach that plays the loudest music every night of the week.. until 4 AM , if you’re a heavy sleeper then great this is the place for you but if you’re a light sleeper, sadly, you may want to choose a different place. The loudest music and bass ever! can be heard for very far distances. Our room was nowhere near that disco Tech, and we still felt the vibrating. Either way, if you can deal with the bass vibrating your bed I can’t think of a hotel that I would’ve rather stayed at, this place was great. Rooms are older but very functional and in good condition. Your in this part of Sardinia for the incredible beaches!

All in all a nice stay

All in all it was a nice experience. The hotel has a private beach and swimming pool but you can easily travel to other popular beaches nearby (if you have a car). The breakfast is basic but with good coffee. The rooms are nice but due to how they are build, you can hear every toilet visit of your neighbour. For us this wasn't a big problem but for someone it could be.
Only negative aspects was the bad WiFi reception. It was available only in some places.

Great hotel

Beautiful place, very nice staff. We have been staying for 10 days and we felt like at home. The hotel gives directly on the beach which is not as touristic as the others and also has a pool and jacuzzi if you get tired of the sand. Very clean rooms. The restaurant is delicious and the staff there is great. The bar of the hotel is also convenient, they make great cocktails. They have a locked parking for guests and give good recommandation. The snorkeling activity that is proposed at reception really is worth it (55€ pp).

Small hotel in excellent location. Rooms are clean, but a bit dated. Staff all friendly. Breakfast included was good. A la Carte restaurant has wonderful views over the bay & some outside tables & food is good. Residents receive 10% in the a la carte. There is also another bar/cafe right on the beach - cocktails are good. Part of the beach is roped off for private use of the hotel residents but you have to pay for the sunbeds & umbrellas (20 euros per day for 2 beds & umbrella) There is no charge for the sunbeds at the pool. Nice clean sandy beach, some small rocks in the sea. 10 min walk to San Teodoro town along lighted pavement. Lots of places to eat in San Teodoro

Wonderful Stay

A lovely ocean front property at the edge of town down a quiet street. A series of charming bungalows with decks & nice walkways through landscaped garden areas. The hotel has a large outdoor pool running parallel to the ocean with a life guard watching the ocean swimmers. Great breakfast with lots of variety & served in a room looking over the ocean. Next to the swimming pool is a ping pong table.

Lovely hotel in San Teodoro

I stayed in L’Esagono for two nights and it was perfect to explore the lovely beaches nearby. It is a short walk from San Teodoro’s center. The restaurant is also really good. The garden is very pretty and the staff is amazinG. I loved that after check out they offer you a hot shower by the end of the day.

Amazing trip

Hotel has very good location . You can walk to San Teodoro central town within 15 minutes . It also has small beach , but you will have to pay for chair and umbrella- we paid €13 for two chairs and umbrella... We had dinner there only once but it was delicious!! We hired a car from the airport as it must in Sardinia . You can drive to top beautiful bechaes in north east Sardinia within 15-20 minutes . They can very busy especially now during a season ... but it's all worth it & sea is so so nice , just like in Caribbean. Be aware that car parks in Sardinia are not for free . Some one then have daily rate - 12euros ,some have only pay by hour -€1.50 so you'll need plenty of change . Also is good to remember they have SIESTA during a day .. think was like from 2pm -6pm so you better to take your lunch with you .. Sardinia is just so lovely island and People are friendly .

Although the hotel lies near the sea, it's got little amenities. (end of September, and they are open until end October)
The reception speaks no other language than Italian. (I tried English, German, French but she just said Italian) Not a good way to run a business. Little choice of food on the restaurant menu.Strangely the menu was translated into English but the staff did not speak it. No favourite easy foods like pizza or pasta Bolognese. Too over priced and snooty restaurant staff. The bar staff were great but very impersonal. The cleaning was perfect and very nice cleaning staff.

Sardinia - that part of it - has little to see or do and from this hotel the charming little village of San Teodore, is approximately 3 miles uphill walk. Nice restaurants and touristy shops.

Overall, we had good weather but if it rained it would have been a very difficult holiday. Disappointing.

The look of hotel, food, location etc are all beautiful and perfect for what you want at a beach hotel holiday however, The only nice staff at the hotel were the women at the reception. Other than that me and my partner thought the staff were rude and sarcastic. We felt as if we were a burden to the staff and felt embarrassed to ask questions or if we needed anything. We wouldn't even get a smile off any f he members of staff at the bar. we will not be coming back to stay at this hotel.

Avoid - bad customer service & location

What a useless hotel. A 15 minute walk from the town which is not ideal. The hotel pool was good, the breakfast was okay and the room was good. Besides that I would never stay there again.

We asked for a return transfer (airport and back) and got an email saying it was €55 total, on arrival we were told to pay €55 one way and they admitted they made a mistake but insisted it was not their problem, I was forced to pay the driver on the spot. Tried to sort it out for 3 days and eventually got my money back when checking out but only cause I refused to pay the bill if not refunded.

Breakfast okay, usual croissants, cereal, cakes and a little bacon, egg and sausages.

Private beach was a joke , tiny and seaweed not cleaned off beach, limited space to sit on sand, & they wanted to charge the two of us €40 to use the hotel sun loungers on beach. Walk to La Cinta it's 1000% better. No hotel beach towels provided!

We never ate dinner at the hotel but ventured into town instead for a good variety, atmosphere and decent prices.

The attitude of the staff was mixed. Overall very good service by the waiters at breakfast time but the receptionists put a real sour taste in my mouth with regards transfer. Besides this they were fine I suppose.

Room was clean and bed comfortable, can't complain about that. Nice porch area to relax.

In all I would say if you have the option stay somewhere else. There seem to better situated hotels and the attitude was much to be desired.

Disappointing in some many ways

How to start?...
To begin with: At the check in we went straight to the room and we weren't shown anything aroung their amenities other than the room itself, that was that... I understand that we checked in quite late, yet they should have sold their services (excursions, bicycle, enterteinment, at least mentioned something...).They sell their services at their website, but when it comes to reality...prepare yourself. Also, communication was a bit dificult as hardly anyone could speak or understand english, or any other language to be honest, luckly we speak a latin language which made it easier to communicate. Another situation which I don't think it's was fair: one day my husband took one of the sunbed to the beach which is metres away from the swimming pool and even though we were staying at the hotel, we had to pay for it, what makes it worse is that it was the end of the day, we stayed for 40 minutes I guess, I don't really mind paying the price but it was annoying really ... I was gutted when we checked out we had to paid for an extra 46 euros that we weren't aware of, it was for the \"entertainment\" (evenings) it was honestly more of a nuisance that enterteinment, this is one of the things that was not \"sold\" to us from day one. We went out all evenings as we didn't know what they could offer us in their own hotel. To be honest this hotel could be way better if they communicate with their customers, which in my opnion is a huge problem. It was a huge disappointment!!!

Decent hotel for a nights stay, it is a bit away fro the city center so best to have a car. The only issue I had was that the wifi was terrible, some people might not care, but for those of us who have to work while we travel it's extremely frustrating. Other then that, good room, clean, night hotel grounds, right by a beach too.

Lovely stay, definitely will be going back

Hotel Lesagono is a lovely place to stay. The staff are really helpful and really try help you get everything you need. Barbara at reception was especially great.

the hotel is by the sea and has lovely views, and is a 10-15 minute walk into san teodoro where there are shops and restaurants .

hotel l esagono also offered free snorkelling or scuba diving if you are a certified diver. We chose the snorkelling and it was well worth it.

overall it was a brilliant stay and we would definitely go back again.

Enjoyed our stay - only was there for 1 night. No complaints as such. Only downside for me was the lack of Air Conditioning. I realize the hotel never claimed to have air conditioning however all other 3* hotels I have stayed with in Italy have had it. Otherwise, was happy with the hotel.

The Hotel location is good not too far from the center but the surrounding neighberhood is totally not frequented without any commerce or animation.
The hôtel equipments are correct with basic rooms any beautifull gardens. Make sure to have a room far from the big nightclub (Ambra Night) as it s noisy by late night.
We advice to have a car as walking to the center and Cinta beach is tough as the road is vertical :)
Overall the hotel is good for those planning to discover the Island and the hotel is only for sleeping.

Ok but not fantastic!

That was a nice stay but not fantastic! The staff speak very little english Most of Italian guests but that's not bad. There was a nice group of people who performed animation. Unfortunately all of it was in Italian. If you dont speak italian you are not able to understand a word! Rooms nice and clean. They clean them everyday and change towels. Tv in the rooms but only italian channels. Internet doesn't work at all - don't believe when they say that there is a wi fi acess! Breakfast tasrty but very poor - after 5 days you have got enough of them. Ladies at the reception helpful and nice. Restaurant - nice view - facing the sea but can be very busy sometimes and you need to wait long for the service. Very nice garden and cosy swimming pool with free dockchairs. Beach and water nice but hotel's dockchairs are quite expensive to rent. All in all it was a nice stay. Good value for the price but don't expect anything extraordinary!

Not for chicken lovers

Me and my husband stayed in Hotel L'Esagono in July 2013. The first thing we were told at the check in was that we had to pay 52EUR for \"entertainment\". This wasn't optional and even though we didn't spend a single night and only 2 days at the hotel/beach, we had to pay it. In 9 days that we were there, the only \"entertainment\" we saw was on our way out to dinner and it was some kids signing on a stage. Is this what they call entertainment? Very disappointing.

The one good thing about the hotel is the location. Only about 30mins from the airport, right on the beach and a 10-15min walk into town. The walk to the town centre is up a steep-ish hill, but we enjoyed it and treated it like a holiday exercise. San Teodoro town centre is lovely in the evening. The streets all closed off for traffic and the town becomes one big market.

The one thing that we found weird in San Teodoro was the food. All restaurants have the same menu! And it includes: pasta + seafood, pizzas (which are fantastic), veal, steak or fish. No chicken! What's that about? I don't eat red meat so had to alternate between a fish and a pizza every night...

The island is huge, so I wouldn't recommend hiring a car, as even after an hours drive, you'll only be 2 beaches away from your stay. The one place I would recommend visiting (maybe on a bicycle) is the Cala Brandinchi. It's gorgeous! You'll probably end up doing one boat trip to Orosei's Gulf, as the other boat trip leaves from Palau which is 2 hours away.

Kein deutscher Fernsehsender, Frühstück täglich die gleiche Auswahl. Die Spiegeleier waren ungenießbar (so als wären sie mit einer Plastikschicht überzogen).
Die Lage direkt am Strand und mit Pool war schön, das Hotel liegt am Ende einer Sackgasse, Abendessen sehr teuer und kleine Auswahl, die nächsten Restaurants 1 km Fussweg entfernt.

L’hôtel est bien situé en bord de mer avec piscine mais pas de serviettes dédiées il faut prendre celle de sa douche A la plage il faut payer 20€ pour 2 transats/parasol Jamais vu dans tous les hôtels faits Le petit déjeuner était redondant Le pire c’était la chambre : le lit et l’oreiller n’était pas du tout confortable, l’insonorisation horrible on entendait le moindre bruit de la salle de bain d’à côté (tuyauterie humaine et matériel) on s’était cru dans la même chambre !! À comparer avec les hôtels de même standing il est médiocre

Lange Wartezeit beim CheckIn! Großes und geräumiges Zimmer! Alles sauber, doch sehr hellhörig! Nebenan ist eine Disco die man bis 4:30 Uhr morgen stark hörte! Das Bett war sauber, doch für mich viel zu hart! Für einen Schirm mit 2 Liegen bezahlt man am Hotelstrand 20€! Herrlich war der öffentliche Strand La Cinta (Parken gegen Gebühr: 1,50€ pro Stunde, nur Karte oder Bargeld)

Tolle Lage direkt am Meer mit eigenem Strandabschnitt, leider waren recht viele Algen am Strand, die auch nicht beseitigt wurden. Frühstück ist sehr gut auf Terasse mit schönem Blick.

Adorei esse hotel!
Fiquei em SAN Teodoro uma noite só. Esse hotel merecia pelo menos mais uma diária! Meu Marido também achou!
Tem uma pequena praia colada no hotel, uma delícia! Fica ao lado da piscina!
O quarto que ficamos não era grande, mas agradável, com tudo combinando!! E tinha uma varandinha bem gostosa com vista linda! Tudo com flores e grama bem cuidado! De carro, dava cinco minutos pro centro! Bem perto!
Esse hotel é do tipo que vale ficar curtindo o hotel e com calma! Recomendo!

L’hôtel étant situé à côté d’une discothèque, impossible de fermer l’œil. Le matin du départ, alors que nous prenions un jus dehors, la pluie a commencé à tomber, nous nous sommes donc réfugiés à l’intérieur, un bref instant car on nous a demandé de ressortir car ils étaient en train de préparer les tables pour le déjeuner, à 10h30. En somme, une qualité de service proche du néant. À 250€ la nuit, j’attendais autre chose.

Chambre rustique mais entretenue, hotel excellement propre.restaurant un peu cher mais excellent.service exceptionnel.petit dejeune tres bien.situation bord de mer genial.800 metres du centre ville a pied sans soucis. Je mets juste un bemol sur le spa lendroit est idyllique mais bain chaud en exterieur trop loin et malgre 2h de reservation au bout de 25 minutes on me demande de sortir. Et sur lensemble cela. A dure 1h 35. Et les tarifs eleves pour l italie.
Pour le reste cet hotel est juste au top j y retournerai.

We liked the unique layout of the hotel, lovely to be next to the seasite. The breakfast is great, seimmingpool is nice and clean and the place is very peaceful.
But....we booked a room WITH tv, but the connection was out of ouder till first of june. We booked the hotel because it was supposed to be next to the bus stop, we are not great drivers ..but ...the bus doesnt go, untill the first of june...the ladies at the reception didnt know anything about their own village; times for opening supermarket, busstation to go to the airport, opening time of the local museum, they adviced us very expensive car rental, didnt have a map, and called a taxi on the last day that charged us 25 euro s more than the one on the first day. ( 85,00 for 30 kms)
Still we enjoyed the stay and next time we know what to do to make the stay even better...

Wunderschöne Anlage mit viel Grün.
Komfortables, sauberes Zimmer mit Aussensitzplatz. Guter WiFi Empfang. Es wird ein reichhaltiges Frühstück auf der Meersichtterrasse geboten. Schöner Pool. Der Privatstrand war zu diesem Zeitpunkt leider nicht zu benützen. Er war komplett mit Seegras überschüttet. Im Restaurant wird sardischer Küche geboten. Mir hat es geschmeckt.

Super netter Empfang mit Begleitung zum Zimmer, sehr kleines dunkles Zimmer ohne Fenster, allerdings verglaste Zimmertüre, mini Terrasse mit Tisch 50 cm vom Nachbarn entfernt, älteres Bad aber funktionell i.O., sehr schöne blühende Gartenanlage, kleiner schöner Pool direkt am Meer, Strand war mit soviel Seegras zugeschwemmt, dass er eigentlich nicht nutzbar war. Wir kämpften mit einigen Mücken im Zimmer. Frühstück war einfach, aber okay, manches um 9 Uhr vergriffen, das Personal (wahrscheinlich durch die Corona Regeln) etwas entnervt.

Die Anlage ist eigentlich sehr schön und gut gelegen, sofern man ein Auto oder Fahrrad dabei hat. Aber der Strand vor dem Hotel ist eine Katastrophe. Berge von abgestorbenen Algen türmen sich am Strand und werden nicht beseitigt. Schade

Beste Lage mit fragwürdigem Service

Wir waren von dem Hotel leider enttäuschte. Die schöne Lage hatte uns zur Buchung annimiert... Leider dürften wir als Hotelgäste, während des Frühstücks nicht die Terasse am Meer benutzen. Das Frühstück fand ausschließlich im SPEISESAAL statt. Die Terasse, direkt an Speisesaal gelegen, war ausschließlich für zahlende Gäste vorgesehen. Wer diese nutzen wollte, konnte sich gern einen Kaffee gegen Bezahlung im Restaurant bestellen. Zum Frühstück wurde Wurst und Käse angeboten, jedoch alles sehr einfach gehalten. Das Buffet selbst war für die vielen Gäste sehr klein. Damit mussten wir oft anstehen und warten....
Der Hotelstrand hatte hier die Besonderheit, das nur zahlende Gäste die Liegen und Schirme (20,-€/Tag/Person) nutzen durften. Dabei spielte es keine Rolle ob Hotelgast oder Laufkunschaft. Gäste die nicht zahlten, hatten den gesäuberten, abgesperrten Bereich zu verlassen. Der Strand / die Bucht, ist übrigens recht klein. Also, haben wir uns als Hotelgäste in den hintere naturbelassenen Strand begeben.
Die Zimmer sind sauber. Was wir nicht so gut fanden, dass jeden Tag alle Handtücher getauscht wurden. Auch waren die Zimmer sehr hellhörig.
Würde in diesem Hotel mehr wert auf den Gast gelegt werden, wäre es ein schöner Ort, um einen Urlaub zu verbringen. Ohne diesen Blick und den verhaltenem Service vor Ort möchten wir dieses Hotel nicht weiter empfehlen.
