I stayed at the Abian Harmony for 28 days. I loved it. Look, it's not the Hilton. It's a bit tatty and some of the rooms are a tad quirky, but the ambience is extraordinary. It was ideal for a single female traveller. The staff couldn't do enough for you. The food and drinks were great. Excellent massages, and nails. Location is fabulous, a 5 minute walk to Sanur Beach.
I absolutely loved it. One of the other guests described it as being a bit like the Marigold Hotel - I found it charming, quirky, friendly and an absolute pleasure. 10/10 will be back.

The most outstanding part of our stay was the excellent staff—very polite, helpful, and accommodating. We truly appreciated being upgraded to a bigger room, which made our stay more comfortable. The location is also great, with shopping and dining options just a short walk away. The massage service was fantastic and a real highlight of our visit.

However, there were a few downsides. There was a noticeable sewer smell in the bathroom, and the room itself felt quite dated. Most concerning was that one of my daughters was bitten by bed bugs, which suggests the mattress may need to be upgraded and thoroughly inspected.

While the service and location were excellent, some improvements in cleanliness and maintenance would make a big difference.

I am aware that this is a lower star rated hotel but even so it should be clean which this was not. The bathroom/shower was disgusting in our first room, the bed had creatures (biting) the air con did not work and the door did not close properly. I mentioned this to the front office, I asked to be moved instead of fixing all the issues. Our new room was newer and a lot cleaner which was great! I don’t think I would go back as walking around the area there are a lot of options of where to stay for around the same price.

We had to check out of our villa and needed a place to drop our bags off and have a shower before catching a late flight to Brisbane. Had we had to stay the night I would have checked out. The place is need of a complete refurb: The lifts don't even reach the top floor, doors dont open, the corridors are dark and once you manage to get in the room we found two single beds with ironed on spiders and a bathroom that stunk so bad we kept the door shut. I know its cheap but for about £25 a night you can stay in the lovely holiday inn and get an excellent breakfast.

Here’s my honest review… We have travelled many times to Bali and around the world. We understand the culture and normally go with the flow, but this place was different from pictures…

The good:
Location is close to beach
Staff are super friendly and always helpful
Close to good restaurants and markets

The bad:
Hotel condition looks nothing like pictures
This place needs heaps of maintenance. The rooms we stayed in were on level 4, old and tired.
Breakfast is alacarte, their definition of buffet is 2 plates of fruit, 1 plate of salad, 1 plate of desert, 1 toaster, white bread, coffee pot, tea pot and that’s a buffet!
Wifi is intermittent, works great for about 10 minutes in the room and that’s it. Some days not at all.
Showers look good, but took approximately 5 minutes to heat up, then very very low pressure of water comes out…
Our fridge was located out on balcony
The doors still using key instead of digital card system. Locks were very hard to open, you could here many guest trying to open their doors on arrival. Our door barrel for room 412 was broken, had to be a locksmith everytime to get in…
Pool wasn’t cleaned properly.. looks like they clean it in the morning, by the afternoon near bar side, leaves and other stuff would drop in and left floating. No one would maintain during the day.
I asked for some extra bacon on my bagette, as you only get 1 very small slice, they said this will be extra cost
This hotel needs soooo much maintenance!

This hotel is nothing like it was pre COVID - standards have slipped the hotel is tired and in desperate need of repair booked two deluxe poolside rooms and weren’t given what we paid for. We stayed one of our 9 nights checked out in the morning. The only positive we’re the friendly staff and the fact that we got a full refund for the remaining 8 nights without any issues. Expedia you need to lift your standards and regularly review hotel pictures. The photos are from when the hotel first opened- nothing like what it’s become. Definitely not 4 stars - more like one or two.

When we first checked in we book 2 rooms, a double and 2 single beds. That was not available unless we wanted to be in 2 different buildings. The 2 double rooms, 1 was very small and the other was great. The bathroom flooded everytime you showed. When in rained water came under the door in both rooms. The rooms were ok but they need a deep clean. For us we thought they could be cleaned better. I think cleaners are not trained. They just gave everything a wipe over, no chemicals were used. Over all location was great, food is good enough. Staff were helpful. Just needs a good cleaning in some areas and some general maintenance.

Great location with easy walk to beach and shopping precincts. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The room is cleaned 2 or 3 times a week which I find much more preferable to a daily clean. You can ask staff for an extra clean if needed and they are happy to oblige.
There is one thing I think people need to take into account and that is the shower is over the bath (not sure if this is the case for all rooms) which could be an issue for some people with limited mobility.
Overall great hotel, great staff and in a great location.
I will certainly be back again

OK location, lovely staff but..

All the staff were really great and friendly and always willing to help with anything.
The hotel itself is in good location with lots of amenities around such as restaurants, street food and minimart. It is about 10 mins walk to the local beach.
Housekeeping and maintenance of the hotel could improve a bit more. Some of the towels were yellowish and had unpleasant odour. The shower, toilet seat and handwash looked that they needed a good bleach and scrub. Much of the fittings in the room and shower did look like they needed replacement or refurbishment. Steel fittings in the bathrooms were all corroded possibly because of the salt water.
When we just checked in, all the rooms’ floor were sticky but when asked to be re-mopped, they did it immediately and mentioned that they might have put too much deodoriser on the mop.
We stayed for 3 nights and on all 3 nights the housekeeping staff just spent a maximum of 10 minutes to make up each room. This meant that bed sheets were never changed and tasks were not done appropriately such as forgetting to top up water and coffee etc.
We booked 3 rooms and the aircon was really struggling to cool the room down and the outdoor aircon unit was so loud that we struggled to sleep through at night. We couldn’t request for change of room as they were fully booked.
To be fair, and as mentioned above, all the staff including the housekeeping staff were very obliging and were really friendly.

Sanur’s little gem.

The Abian Hotel and Spa is a great hotel. The rooms though dated are lovingly cared for and very clean. The pool area is great for relaxing and has a swim up bar. The location is good, plenty of great restaurants nearby.

Great value for money, the staff were terrific. We had a family room for two adults and one child. Our initial room over looked the road and was very noisy as they were renovating. They were happy to move us to a new room for the remainder of our stay which overlooked the pool.
Breakfast included was tasty and the pool was great for our daughter. Were were out and about during they days so the hotel more than met our needs as a spot to relax after a busy day and enjoy a beer by the pool,

So/so but seems on point for price range.

The service was great the room was so clean, the shower smelled like sulfur and pool was murky with all kinds of small particles floating in it. No way I would feel comfortable to swim in that water. So the the pool was a disappointments and the shower could use some work but everything else was great. I was so grateful for the very clean white sheets! Not sure how the star system works here, does not meet the standards I’m familiar with.

Cheap Price Compensates for Issues

We got a super bargain price by booking online. If we hadn't I would give this place 2 stars instead of four, but good value means a lot and I am willing to deal with less than stellar for a bargain. Staff super nice. One full wing has no hot water whatsoever but only has lukewarm. For us it was untenable. They moved our room without complaint. First room hallway smelled a bit off also. Construction going on was a bit noisy. We chose the room because it was pictured with a bathtub. When we arrived we were told we would have to pay 50% more for a tub so we passed. 1st room had great air con. 2nd room air con just barely enough. Very reasonably priced spa with better than average masseuses. Towels in bad shape and hotel decor needs some fluffing but it was clean.

Stayed for two nights as a break from the hectic atmosphere in Bali. Our criteria was mainly a hotel with a pool and good quality (four stars). The staff members were friendly and the food at the restaurant was okay (had one lunch and one breakfast here). The spa seemed reasonably priced and the laundry service was efficient. The water pressure in the shower was pretty bad, as was the ac in the room. The pool was nice, but for how many rooms there are there’s not enough loungers/seating by the pool. We went to the pool at about 12, had no sun beds initially but sat by the bar. There were beds with no one on BUT there were possessions/towels on them so we respected that. It took about half hour for us to get two beds and we stayed till about 6:30. In this time we observed a family of four take up four sun beds plus the gazebo with four seats and a couple take up five sun beds. The couple left leaving three free, but belongings were left on two. At about 6pm two people we hadn’t yet seen collected their belongings from the two sun beds that the couple went to before leaving. All day these beds were unable to be used by anyone else! The hotel should have a policy in place to ensure the beds are used fairly. Also we met an ex-pat whilst in The Fire Station restaurant who told us he knows the owner here and it’s definitely not four stars. Maybe the owner shouldn’t boast about this when it’s sold as a four star hotel. However we do now agree that it’s not four star - 2.5/3 stars.

We stayed two nights at the Abian as a “transition” hotel after our airport arrival. It is located perfectly only 30-45min from the airport, very close to the beach in Sanur. It has a pool in the middle which we didn’t use but it looked very clean. Staff was kind and patient, room was huge and good for two days. We didn’t go to the hotel breakfast as there are lots of cafes around.

This was our third stay at this small hotel/resort. The staff are fantastic, willing to go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.
The complex is now 4 years old & requires a little general maintenance. We had a ground floor Deluxe direct pool access room.
The over all appearance of the complex is good & inviting. The area that could do with a up date is the dinning room, it would not take a lot to improve its presentation.
The complex has some great benefits, with an on site 24/7 shop for all those general requirements, there is also an Official Authorised Money Changer \"you will not get ripped off\" very convenient.

Affordable Position Position

ABIAN HARMONY in the lovely (much quieter & more civil than Kuta) Sanur, is in a great position for the beach 4mins walk, many many cafes & spa's.
Abian Harmony has a lovely affordable basic but highly acceptable property with amazing staff.
My only comment for improvement, that is urgent, is to fix the continuing sewerage smell within the rooms on the roadside wing. The owner (the lovely Mr Nur) is now fully aware & I hope my next visit, will not encounter any of this highly unacceptable, toxic smell wafting around the room & corridors.
They were wonderful in moving me to another room, but this needs to be dealt with professionally to have western tourists continuing.
Their Spa is great, their breakfast choices are excellent - this is a good all round property, nothing fancy, but good. Thanks to the lovely Julia & Gus, team leaders there. My stay was outstanding

Ok hotel

We had a number of issues with our room on arrival (doors that would not lock) however the staff were very prompt in attending to the issues. The staff were very eager to assist and please. Our first room was facing the road so was too noisy for me. As soon as another room became available we were moved. Pool area is small but nice. Breakfast very basic but again ok. For the price it’s an ok hotel

Wonderful local hotel walking distance to the beach, great warungs and any shop you may need. The spa was fantastic! Pool never crowded and the staff were always helpful. Gus was especially awesome!

Hotel is on main road close to restaurants & beach. The money changer, mini mart and spa out front of hotel which can be accessed by hotel restaurant. Abion hotel owns all above facilities and room service is available until 10pm at night. Good hotel for the price with friendly staff. Always communicate with reception staff as they can speak and understand English language as most other staff speak basic English and might not understand your wishes.
