PARENTS WITH CHILDREN BE CAREFUL. We ordered some food(pasta dish) via room service and to our dismay the food had MELTED WOK LINING(metal colour).

We were really disappointed and afraid for the health of our child and the food we had possibly consumed.

Some of the staff are very hospitable and I do appreciate that.

If the kitchen equipment is old then they should replace it.

I would avoid this hotel again and would not rebook. It is not how it is advertised and quite dated. It is in need of a makeover.

The room was stinking. The restaurant service was poor where we were unattended for long stretch of time. Not even once we were asked if everything is fine. Only when we were leaving the courteous and friendly front desk sought input. We will not be returning here.

The service was awesome. Very attentive staff, free fruits and chocolate. The only complain is that, when arranging for airport pickup, they require me to fill up a manual form payment of credit card, which I feel unsafe. Other method of payment not international tourist friendly. Nearby hotel not much food and also in the middle of cross road junction. Traffic can be nuisance trying to cross the road.

For the price I am very happy. The buffet in particular is great value and delicious. I think the hotel is 3-4 star in it's current shape, and one of the best in the area. I liked the staff, who did their best to be helpful.

A few areas to improve:
* The Chai tea had sour milk both times they served it to me. It's the only Chai I've tasted in India with sour milk and both times it tasted great after telling them to open a fresh box of milk.
* No one on staff could come up with a way to do a load of laundry for less than 3,000 R, or $50. which is one reason I went back to Chenai, where The Leela sent it out on an app for 300 R (10 X lower.).
* The parking team likes to shout, repeat themselves and shout again over nothing - it's a lot to get used to, and it's local style for communicating, but not 5 star training.
* The street-facing rooms are very noisy because of all the honking horns.

even if it is reputed a 5* hotel, wifi was not working, AC was making some noise. One night at 3AM, we had to wake up to switch off the AC because it was making some noise. The key of our room was all the time desactivated. We had to go the reception each time.

Could be very noisy, right on busy round-about.

This hotel is located right on the main round-about coming into Pondicherry which is very, very noisy. Most rooms face onto this round-about, so if you are a light sleeper you must insist on a pool view room. It took me many attempts to get this. Room was fine and bed comfortable. Fair for the price but the steam room was a joke. Cold and the area around it dirty and dilapidated. The pool is tiny and too small to swim in, and the area around the pool is also dilapidated. It seems as this hotel goes from the impressive front to the back, it gets worse and worse. The dining room is nice and the complimentary buffet breakfast excellent with a delicious fresh omelette. It seems more geared to conferences and meetings than residential amenities for overnight guests and noisy right outside. Veena (or Veera) on front-desk, was helpful to secure a quieter room even though I had sent three messages and called two people in advance to request this, but it was not booked for me on check-in. They must fix the steam room or do not advertise it and add some life and amenities to the pool area at the back. Great potential here.

1. The room smelled like a moth-ball storage with a powerful chemical smell that almost made us faint
2. When we checked in they wanted to take a picture of people staying in each room. This is creepy.
3. The bed felt like a hammock.
4. The tool was generally clean but some of the furniture and carpet was stained.

Overall you can get a much better deal for 7000 rupees at other hotels. This is, by no means, a 4 star hotel.

My family and I stayed at the Accord for two night - mainly sightseeing and shopping. The Accord is ideally located very much in the center of Pondicherry- shopping is a short auto ride and the beach and French Quarters aren’t much further. The property was fabulous.

Nice Hotel in the Center of the City

Crowded approach road, but once you are inside, it is quiet and nice. Large lobby, Helpful and courteous staff. The roof top vegetarian restaurant was a nice surprise. The folks there provided us excellent service and the chef was talented. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant across the lobby had a fairly good spread and hot stations for eggs to order.
The rooms as well as the bathrooms were very clean, well designed and well maintained (no wet bathroom floor, aha!). Overall, we enjoyed our short one day stay on the way to Mahablipuram.

I pre-booked the room.

Arrived ~11.10pm.

Lobby staff just looked at us, had to instruct them to bring the luggage out of the car.

Restaurants outside the hotel are closed. I had to beg hotel to provide food.

I asked for extra bed,,, they didn't send till the end.

Shower room floods.. was very slow, had to wait few times while taking bath.

Breakfast,, nobody bothered when we to the restaurant.

High class hotel on a reasonable budget.

We were visiting Pondicherry for the day from Chennai and looked for somewhere nice to stay that wouldn’t break the bank. After a quick search on Expedia we found the Accord Pondicherry and booked it the day before our trip. The hotel was lovely! Dozens of staff everywhere were more than happy to attend to our needs. The room was large, well furnished, very comfortable and very quiet. We had the best nights sleep on our whole trip! The only negative about the room was that you could tell people had smoked in it before. It wasn’t overpowering, just a slightly lingering smell. We had requested a non-smoking room but they didn seem to have any.

Breakfast was beautiful far the best I’ve ever had in ANY hotel. It was a large buffet of delicious Indian food with Western style food as well. Lovey fresh fruit and juices and chefs who cooked your eggs exactly as you wanted them. Brilliant!

I’d definitely recommend this place!

I would not recommend a stay here,
. The reception is very impressive but there is no way it is 4/5 star as claimed. The hotel is very dingy with grey old towels and a swimming pool which is unsafe for all but very competent swimmers. They do not have the level of response to deal with problems that I would expect from a hotel of this calibre.
The service in the dining room was particularly poor. I had to ask three times to get a black coffee at breakfast.
I also feel that Expedia are at fault here as once they have the booking they are not interested in following up for customers. Sadly, I will not use them again.

It's a fine hotel, They could fix the following to get a higher rating,

1) mold should not be in bathroom shower stalls
2) common area bathrooms should be updated. They are not five star worthy
3) lunch buffets should be replaced with a great menu. We don't want another buffet after a breakfast buffet.

Rooms are generally good shape, Still however they need a westerner eye to get that 5 star level to get all the little things. If you market as a 5 star property you need to do the little hard things that make it so

Would I stay here again, yes but I would consider others. FYI. The food is westerner safe so that's a critical issue as well.

The hotel is good. The staff is good. However we were suggested to visit the restaurant \"Legumes\" on the terraces for veg buffet dinner. Found that place very odd, dull and not up to the mark. Only two attendants to serve. There was no supervision at the buffet table. Some kids were messing up the place, putting the tasted fruits in the serving bowls on the counter, putting dirty fingers in the desserts, every thing looked so shabby that we left the dining hall after the starters.

The swimming pool area was clean and had sun-loungers but would benefit from some sun umbrellas as there was no shade. Breakfast was adequate with sufficient choice. Centrally located to all the sight seeing places.Nice ambiance of the hotel and the beds were super comfy. The food at the hotel is amazing and the staff, they are good. They are a little slow in service but very well behaved. The only regret was the room that was shown in the website was the same but the bathrooms that were showed in the Pics for the room we selected were completely different when we entered the room. They have a very good Valet Service too so if your taking drivers they will be very happy like our driver was. A little pricey

When checking out, was politely asked to pay for what was prepaid. The room had numerous electrical faults - light bulbs requiring replacement, hair dryer not working, wifi virtually non operative. Management and staff need to ensure these work rather than attempt to respond when customers complain. Be proactive! Breakfast service, range and quality extremely substandard. Not on my return list.

We had buffet lunch immediately on arrival, as we didnot have breakfast. The cost seemed exorbitant, with absolutely no variety of non veg starters (except fish). When we asked if this was the only starter, the staff showed us chicken gravy. There were no live counter for starters which disappointed especially my daughter. Definitely no value for money.

I had asked for late check out by 4 PM. The reason being, I could not go to my house in Chennai due to flood in the area where I stayed. Hotel staff was insentive to my request. First he agreed upto 2 PM was OK, but got a call much before 1 PM itself. I vacated the room immediately as a challenge, finished all my outside work and returned to settle the bill. I had to catch a train to Bangalore late in the evening from Chennai as my schedule was changed due to flood.

Great hotel @ strategic location, weekend getaway!

Accord Puducherry is a great choice for a short stay in Puducherry. It is located strategically close to White Town (3-4 kms) and other places of sightseeing in Puducherry are also closeby and easily accessible. The hotel is well maintained and has a premium look & feel. The rooms are good too - spacious, clean and having all the amenities one would expect (TV, mini bar, hair dryer etc).

A special mention for the buffet. They have a great breakfast spread and lunch/dinner buffet at their restaurants. For the vegetarians, they do have a pure vegetarian restaurant as well. However, if you stay more than 2 days, the breakfast spread may feel a little repetitive.

The hotel staff was very courteous and polite. A special mention for Mr. Muruga, who guided us right from the start of the visit about various things. Do catch a hold of him if you can, he has all the information. :)

All in all, a great hotel at a strategic location. No complaints.

We had planned to stay at Le Dupliex. However we found Le Dupliex hotel to be in need of much repair and renovation. So although we had paid we elected to stay at the Accord. That was a great decision as our stay in Pondicherry would have been memorable for all the wrong reasons. Our room had been freshly painted and the room could use some updating. HOWEVER, we enjoyed our stay and the staff was excellent.

This is at the heart of Pondicherry. Not a budget hotel. The rooms are nice and well stocked. Unfortunately the housekeeping don't replace the items used in the room. whether it is intentional or a mistake we don't know. the wifi was pathetic never worked and the different front desk personal gave different reasons. Food is of good quality but on the pricy side. the staff failed to inform us of events occurring in pondicherry something you won't expect from such a hotel.
