I was really hoping this hotel would be a great choice, especially since we booked it for my birthday trip. Unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations, and I’m honestly just glad we only stayed for two nights.
First of all, the room had a strong damp smell that became even worse when the air conditioning was turned on, filling the room with a moldy odor.
In the bathroom, we found several oriental cockroaches and other insects, and there were spider webs around the TV and other areas of the room. To make matters worse, there was a half-empty water bottle left in the minibar, which clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. The hotel itself appeared dirty and run-down (dirty carpets, damaged items in the room).
We reported all of these issues to the reception staff in the morning, but since our stay was short, no improvements were made.
It’s a real shame, because the gardens and the surrounding area are truly beautiful — the interior just doesn’t live up to the same standard. Even the pillows were extremely thin and soft, making it difficult to sleep comfortably.
The only positive note was the staff, who were consistently kind and polite throughout our stay.
Overall, I’m disappointed, especially because the hotel looks so nice in the photos. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

In less than 10 hours i changed rooms 3 times. The first room was not what I booked 😐 and it was dirty and smells like a humid basement that was flooded it has insects running around on the floor. The 2nd room was also not what we booked, and there was two big dead bugs on the floor when we got there. The door to the balcony could not open and the air condition was not working. We finally got the room that we booked, but I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Had a bungalow with lounge and terrace. Good aircon and lots of space. The furnishings and decor are a little old but good quality and clean. One of the cupboards smelled a little musty but all in all it was great and good value for money. The staff are friendly and courteous. There great shower rooms between the upper and lower pools which were both quiet and well kept with free towels by the top pool. There are tennis courts and mini golf too. The breakfast was great, lots of variety and good quality. They let us use a room to shower and change the day we left as we had a late flight. You can use the gym, bar, pool and “beach” at the lusher bonanza playa across the road but they won’t let you have towels or use sun beds by their pool. I suggest saying you forgot your “black room card” when asking for towels if you want rise that pool. I was too honest! You can get buses to Palma or Portals Nous and beyond. This is high end and worth a visit with nice beaches. Nandi beach bar down the hill was one of the best beach bars I’ve ever been too and well worth a visit for a chilled out dinner with DJ set. All in all, for the price I recommend this hotel and would definitely return. I’d say 4.5 stars given price. Just a bit dated.

Great hotel in a lovely location. Short walk to the beach and easy to get into Palma and to/from the airport. Tiny bit dated, but very clean. For example, we had a chair in the room where the leg wasn’t attached (bit dangerous). Was removed but never replaced. Breakfast is nice enough with a decent selection. Clearly lots of returning customers too, which is nice. The beach close by is stunning and the area has some nice shops (an incredible icecream place) and car + bike rental at decent prices.
I’d say my one disappointment was that although you can use the facilities at the neighbouring hotel (which admittedly are nicer), you cannot use their outdoor pool and access to the sea. The safe in our room was also not working, which after we flagged was ordered a new one but obviously not there in time for our stay.

When we first arrived, it looked dated but we could use the amenities in the sister hotel opposite in the hotel bonanza plays resort and spa which was more new but that didn’t phase us because the setting and grounds and pool were pretty. It was super clean and comfortable. The bus stop was right outside so easy to get to the airport and back with one change. Everything was fab and we would stay again.

The hotel is in a lovely area close to the beach, the bus stop is right outside the hotel to conveniently take you to Palma for only 2 euro.
The breakfast and dinner choices were fabulous and the outdoor pool area and bars leading out to the sea was breathtaking.

Having both the hotel's available for use was nice. Particularly impressed that a meal was left for us, given we had a late arrival. Special mention that Bianca was lovely. Very efficent with breakfast service and excellent with customwr service at the pool bar. Would recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.

Pleasand stay at Palma nova
It was a couple geataway and we stayed for 5 nights. The room was a standard size and we got two twin beds put together despite requesting a one larger bed, but it was comfortable overall.
We booked at Bonanza Park and it was a good choice, the building was located at the hill top and we had the most wonderful view overlooking the sea, pool and beautiful park.
The hotel has a very good continental breakfast (was included), a great variety of food.
We could use the sea access in the Bonanza beach hotel, which we didn't, because there is no beach at all, only stairs that go straight to water, so you can go for a swim but there is no place to tan because it is forbidden to use the pool area at the Bonanza beach hotel. We mostly used one of the two pools on our side, and also walked to the little local beach 5 minutes away. I would not recommend this place if you really planning to enjoy the beach, it is too small and crowded.

We were celebrating our anniversary and given an upgraded to a bungalow. Thank you. The dinner at the Bonanza across the street was wonderful. The famous Illletes beach is a short walk with many restaurants to enjoy lunch and the sea. This was our fourth visit to this beautiful Calvia.

We were upgraded to a bungalow suite which was fabulous. The views overlooking the gardens and the sea were beautiful. The breakfast had a large selection of food to choose from. We chose half board, so had to go to the sister hotel across the street to have our dinner. Sadly there wasn't a great selection of vegetarian options and you had to pay for drinks extra. There location of this hotel was great as you had 2 beaches nearby, around 15 walk. Lots of little supermarket to get snacks. Bus stop just outside the hotel. We went into the Palma city everyday for 2 euros. Overall we had a great stay. The gardens, pool and views are wonderful.

We loved swimming in the pools which were quiet. So handy being able to easily explore using the bus that stops right outside.

Nice place! There are 2 Bonanza, this place and one across the road. This one is older but quiet and nice, 2 pools and tennis, mini-golf etc. Staff were all super nice. A bit far from Palma city center (30 min on bus) but well connected by bus line 4.

We enjoyed our stay!) Especially super grateful for the late check out, it didn’t cost too much, but saved the whole day near beach:) Location is great, 3-5 minutes from the Illetes beach as well! The bus stop to the Palma located right next to the hotel! Overall we did have a good time! Thank you!

A real gem of a place. Positioned on a hillside, with rooms strategically angled so that most have a partial sea view. Lovely clean pools and a nice bar and poolside restaurant. Lots of little activities such as tennis, and mini golf. You can access equipment, including beach umbrellas, and change your towels, in reception at any time. You use the slightly upmarket sister hotel opposite for dinner. You should be able to use their impressive sea-facing pool, but we weren’t able to as they were at capacity.
A couple of very small beaches nearby, 15 minute walk or 3 minute bus ride. Bus is €2pp and only takes cash. Beaches were crammed, probably worth going further afield if you prefer the sea to the pool.

Excellent staff at the hotel cater for all your needs, excellent breakfast and dinner with varied choices at both, and a choice of 2 outdoor pools make this an excellent hotel. Evening entertainment could be a bit more varied - singer or band each night. Having your meals on the outdoor terrace is an added bonus as is the courtesy room to get a shower on your last day if you have a late flight.

There was no tea or coffee maker and no room service. In house brochure said that it had been rebuilt in 2019, the only sign of this was builders dust on the skirting board and the fixtures looked worn.they may have meant refurbished. Really it was 3 star and a half. Our friends across the road at the other Riu were definitely 4 star plus. However the staff were excellent, friendly, cheerful and attentive and made for a good experience.

Good location, beach and several nice restaurants within 10 min walk. Quiet area, not much going on after 11 p.m., but you can always jump bus/taxi into Palma or Magaluf depending what you are after.

What a marvelous hotel. The staff were all very helpful and attentive. The rooms and all the communal areas were clean and well kept. It was great to have use of the Spa facilities at the sister hotel and we really enjoyed the crazy golf. Best of all was the welcome from our early flight while the room was being made ready and the ability to use the facilities on our last day as we had a late flight home. Hotel was good, cleaned and well designed, staff was very professional and friendly, well managed. Originally booked for 1 night but stayed extra 2 nights, only 10 mins walk to most 2 most beatiful beach. Food was very good compare to other similar hotels in the area. Our room had a sea and forest view. Sun rise was imazing, location was great for us.

We arrived earlier than check in time and was greeted with a complimentary drink of our choice. We stayed in one of the bungalows which are very nice, and balcony over looking the sea. Food was brilliant, breakfast and dinner had plenty of choices on offer and the quality was great. Great location with a bus stop right outside for Palma (20 mins journey) and would highly recommend this hotel. Can use the hotel opposite too but beware drinks are expensive!

Nice, clean, comfortable and quiet hotel.Lovely showers. No slamming doors - hurray! Two lovely pools. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely outdoor terrace for meals, and another for entertainment. Whilst the food was good, something for everyone, we did feel that the hot food was not quite up to four star standard. This hotel is not suitable for those who cannot climb hills. There is very little on the flat and you need the agility of a mountain goat to reach the nearest beach which has many steps. However, we did find one in the other direction which had a lot less steps - and a lift! The buses run into Palma every 10 minutes and take about half an hour. All in all, a lovely relaxing holiday, and the quiet room was worth its weight in gold.

What a great experience!
Illetes is a lovely place to stay, but our experience at the Hotel Riu Bonanza Park made our holiday fantastic! The hotel is clean and smart, with lots of places to sit for a drink and to relax, amazing gardens, with tennis courts, crazy golf and a lovely pool. And the food was really great - something different on the menu every day and lots of choice!
However - the staff were what made it really special! Everyone we meet, from the gardener to the manager, were so friendly. I have to mention particularly though, our new friends in the restaurant - all the staff in the restaurant worked very hard, but there were two people in particular who had a great ethic - so friendly and helpful. We were really sad to leave at the end of our week!
Overall, a great experience. Only one down side - the car park takes some negotiation to get to - our advice, just rely on public transport - with buses arriving outside the hotel every 10 minutes, you can't go wrong!

As 2 female travellers we didn't get quite as well looked after by the staff as the couples and families. On one dinner occasion we were even gestured into the dining room by the manager so he could then attend escorts the couple behind us. Attention to detail in that regard was poor. They need to treat all the guests equally. Also, very poor dinner choice for vegetarians. Despite letting them know we were vegetarian and asking what didn't have meat in, no attempt made to offer anything else. That is til I spoke to manager. Whilst he did organise chef to make veggie cannelloni, he really didn't take on board the fact that having told staff previously, that no effort had been made to accommodate us. All in all I felt the manager and staff really weren't that bothered about anything. The exceptions were the reception staff and a couple of waiting staff.

Lovely stay, excellent customer service. We did find pricing for food & beverages quite pricey vs. quality, and due to location there are not very many options. Breakfast was ok, but no variety for the 4 days we were there. Beach is quite a walk away, minimum 20 minute walk to free access public beach.

Having stayed in this hotel before it was as expected. Some updating has been done since our last stay, bathroom now has a wet room style shower, bath having been removed, carpets replaced with tiles, tables and chairs in bar area are new. Could not understand why it is still under the RUI name when information in the room had it under the Olivia hotels.

Amazing bungalow with big balkony and sea view
There were few options for accommodation in this hotel - room in big building and bungalow. We took the last one and were very happy about this. Big room with all needed facilities, big balkony with table, chairs and two beds, with sea view. Big comfortable bed inside room, all bath facilities, bath, bidet, big towels and separate towels for the beach which we could change as often as we needed. The breakfast in hotel was various, very good quality and in a beautiful restaurant. we didn't eat bread and pork but by the way we were happy with various fruits, muesli with dried fruits, tasty coffee, fresh juices, eggs, fish etc. Personnel was very kind and helped with various questions and difficulties. Room was clean, wides worked fast, usually after the breakfast we came to a cleaned room.

We can highly recommend this hotel, we recently spent four nights there for my wife's 60th birthday, the staff were exceptional, very helpful and friendly and the food was very good. My wife was a little disappointed with the villa they gave us as the patio was in the shade, we mentioned this at reception and were offered a different villa without any hesitation, nothing was too much trouble. We hope to return later in the year.

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at the Bonanza Park Hotel. The hotel staff were always friendly and helpful. Service was excellent. The pools were well attended to and clean, and we enjoyed lunch beside the pool, with its relaxing setting of the hotel gardens and sea view. Guests have access to Bonanza Playa gym, spa, beach and restaurants which is an added bonus.
The small but beautiful cove of the Illetas beach is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. We liked the fact that this resort is fairly quiet. With only a few restaurants, for more choice you can catch a bus in front of the hotel which takes you to busier locations such as Cala Major and Palma. The bus is convenient but does get quite busy!

Not worth money
I wouldn't recommend this place having seen Palma de Mallorca. The beds were so uncomfortable and the hotel is incredibly expensive for what you get. Overall, not a great place. Since you really need to drive everywhere, it's better to stay closer to Palma and drive to beaches. Beach near hotel is too small to be considered proper one.
