Las playas excelentes, las personas en el restaurante muy atentos y serviciales, con excepción de: no te llevan suficiente agua de tomar a tu habitación bueno eso nos tocó a nosotros 3 botellas un dia si, y otro no, definitivamente eso no me gustó. Otra cosa importante, que el baño, el agua no tiene suficiente presión, eso era desesperante. La regadera trabajaba muy bien.

We had a great stay at MIA Hotel! The staff was friendly and welcoming, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and everything was well-maintained. The overall atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy our time. Definitely a place I would stay at again and recommend to others!

we had a lot of seaweed on it tried they tried their best to keep it clean. The staff at the bar was great but as far as the front desk, they were rude and dismissive we had a private photographer come on site and they made us pay $100 for her to come on to take pictures of us after paying nearly $8000 for the trip we will probably never see her again.

The location is perfect. Beach area and room were great. Very clean overall. The hotel should have told us about the bird problem. We were landed on and pecked leaving open cuts. We were not able to use our balcony which we paid extra for due to the birds. They swooped at us every time we left our room. We are pretty self sufficient and didn't ask the staff for much. Saying that, Our mini fridge was not stocked even when we requested it at front desk. We saw alot of senior staff yelling at junior staff in public eating areas which seemed really uncomfortable and unprofessional. Front desk staff took our passports upon check in which was strange and when we went back later after seeing our room had a safe to get them they were really strange. Also we were charged a fee at check in that was not explained to us at all. The tv in our room was broken.

We booked our 10 day stay at the 4-star Mia Reef. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. A week prior to our arrival I send the hotel an email to make them aware this was our wedding anniversary as well as my wife's b-day so wanted a nice room and good experience. I never received a response. I attempted to contact the hotel via phone for three days prior to arrival to confirm our reservation, unable to get anyone to answer. I went through their call center they were eventually able to connect us with the hotel. I relayed the same info as my email. He assured me we would be pleased. On arrival we were given a substandard room (2 star at best). the shower head was hanging out of the ceiling and the shower leaked water out of it. In addition, there was no hot water. I tried to call the front desk however the phone did not work. After walking to the front desk and expressing my concerns I was assured everything would be looked after. Nobody ever attended our room. After more attempts to have the issues rectified (2 days trying) with no success we paid an additional $xxxx on top of the $xx,xxxwe spend for the 10 day vacation to upgrade to a villa. The villa was also in need of repair and the A/C unit leaked water badly on to the floor. We tried to speak the with Mgr. however she managed to avoid us for 5 days. We were told, she was only visiting/not in today/took the day off etc. Made a 9 am appointment and she failed to show

While the location is absolutely beautiful and the resort has great potential, there are several areas that require significant improvement.

Communication from the concierge team could be more proactive and responsive, especially when addressing ongoing issues during a guest’s stay. The property itself is in need of updates and renovations. The pool, for example, was noticeably dirty with an unpleasant odor, and the wooden seating within the pool is deteriorating and chipping, which poses both a comfort and safety concern.

During our stay, the water service was shut off 4 out of 5 days, which created major inconvenience. Additionally, our bathroom was not functioning properly and would not flush, leaving us in unsanitary conditions for several days. The lack of warm water further added to the discomfort.

While the service at the restaurants and bars was excellent and truly appreciated, the beach area was often left unmaintained, with seaweed accumulating and not being cleared until guests began cleaning it themselves.

I would strongly recommend that management implement routine walkthroughs of all common areas to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and overall guest satisfaction.

This property is in a stunning location and has so much potential. I would love to return in the future once improvements have been made.

Location is amazing for snorkeling and swimming. The staff is super nice and helpful. The only reason I would not come back to this particular resort is the food and restaurant situation. The make you make a 24hr reservation to all their restaurants, but only 1 is included in the all inclusive. The food is not good. Very Americanized. Which might be good for some people, but not for us. And they will try to sell you a timeshare/membership to their hotels.

* 8-10 free bicycles available to guests to tour island from 10am - 5pm; when we tried to use them, they were all broken (spokes, chains, seats, you name it) except for 1; employee told us that the bikes were not made to be in this type of environment and have had to be fixed for some time

Staff was overall very good and attentive to our needs and plenty of staff too. Hotel shower was very dirty which we brought to the attention of mgmt and they offered a deep cleaning that didn't make a huge difference. They also offered us a complimentary meal at their very nice Italian restaurant which did have very good food. While we could tell they maintain the property certain things looked kind of run down especially the wooden lounge chairs in the pool which should just be taken out and replaced. Food and drink quality was generally pretty high and abundant. Would be helpful to have stronger wifi throughout the property and a small business center for calls or printer hook up, etc.

The views are unbelievable, water is crystal clear, and our snorkel guide picked us up at the pier on the property. We enjoyed that the majority of guests were not from the US while we were there. Every staff member was attentive and kind, and a few took the time to get to know us. We were surrounded by Spanish speakers and locals. It was wonderful!

This is my third time at this resort. I visited in 2017, attended a wedding in 2019 and now this. From 2017 to now it is very different, and has a more relaxed/chill vibe. If you’re looking to party, this isn’t the place for you. R&R is what you’ll get here.

I booked a queen size bed in a basic room with partial ocean view. Upon check in, there was no partial ocean view, just a roof and walls and it was definitely a full size bed - I even measured with the iPhone app. When i brought this to the front desk I was told there was nothing available but I could upgrade for $65/night. Expedia called but due to management being off on a Sunday there wasn’t anything they could do. The bed also creaked and squeaked pretty loudly so after showing a video of this my room was switched and I somehow got a queen bed. Still no ocean view though. This was the only real hiccup of the trip.

Obviously, the beach view and ocean water is a 10/10! Beautiful, picturesque scenery where you can relax and get a tan. Staff is very friendly and always available to help.

The food is nothing over the top, but it gets the job done and they do a good job of switching menu items up throughout the day. During the lunch hour if you’re not feeling the buffet they offer burgers, hot dogs and fries. The Mexican restaurant was delicious - get the birria quesadilla! There’s also an Italian restaurant for an additional fee.

All in all this resort is the place for R&R and beautiful beach views. I would return.

My husband and I decided to upgrade to a deluxe villa so we could wake up each day to the beautiful ocean view. The room was tiny, shower head needed to be replaced, the mirror in the bathroom had no finish in the corners and looked rusty. TV would not work unless you connected to WiFi which wasn’t possible anywhere except the main bar. Only able to get low level alcohol and only Modelo beer available at the bar. We loved the ocean view along with the amazing sunrises and sunsets.

Small quiet resort, not the place for party people. Amazing place to snorkel with beautiful clear water and sandy bottom.
This was my third visit to the resort and probably my last. The management team was not friendly or helpful like they used to be and some of the staff made my family feel like we were an inconvenience when making basic requests. We are polite and tip well, so I’m not sure what brought on the change… time to explore some new options.

Good food, great staff, rooms are small but bed very comfortable. Bathroom extremely small. Husband about knocked himself out a couple times hitting head on towel rack. Reserved a two bed but only got one. View was obstructed by top of front side of building. This was suppose to be a Deluxe double room. Location and property was very good and loved the beach. For some reason last day we were there did not get waited on one time on the beach for drinks. Maybe short staffed. Idk. But overall I would stay there again but maybe a different type of room.

big disappointment . years ago , my wife and i stayed here on our honeymoon, it was great the town was great . we had a deluxe suite ocean front villa it had a bed room area with seperate sitting area and kitchenette and an ocean front balcony, fabulous place to stay.
this time however i book a deluxe suite ocean front villa . there was nothing deluxe or suite about it. i have had better rooms at the motel 6. it was a bed in a room and one small tabe with a coffe maker on it and a mini fridge on the floor.thats it. nothing to put your luggage on nowhere to sit . not a single chair. not even a do not disturb sign . nothing . i go and complian that i was given the wrong room, they said that is the room you ordered through expedia and they are not at fault or affiliated with them . the wrist bands they give you says expida.com right next to mia reef .i said can i get a different room? no we are all booked. how about a chair and a luggage rack and how about a do not disturb sign . i got the luggage rack . i made my own do not disturb sign and never got a chair . they did try to bribe me with a free dinner to not leave a bad review i said no and did not sign the waiver. they gave me the dinner anyway and asked what else i would want in leu of the room i was supposed to have i said money? that was a no so i said get me a cab to the ferry on checkout day . they said ok to that . so on check out day we get to the ferry and the cab driver demands payment. they stiffed me.

We loved the location with the shallow lagoon. We booked 2 ocean front villas with 2 queen beds in each, we got 2 rooms with a king bed and a roll-away bed in each room, they said they would switch us when they became available and it never happened. Other guests we talk to had the same problem. We only had towels for 2 in the room that we had 3 people in, it took 2 trips to the lobby to get enough towels. The phone in one room didn't work and was never fixed for our entire stay.
If hot water is a must, this isn't a place to stay. I had 2 showers in 6 days that had warmer water, other than that there was no difference between full hot and cold. And the water pressure was low, and during the overnight the water was SHUT OFF TOTALLY, COULDN'T EVEN FLUSH THE TOILET TIL MORNING. That's not good if someone is feeling sick, and we had that luck.
We made the best of it because it didn't seem like there were options, the front desk was nice but didn't seem to fix issues. I tried reaching out to Hotels.com and good luck with that, I needed a live person to help, after a couple hours I gave up with the online help.
The property could be great, but needs attention.
We did the all inclusive package and the food and drinks were average for others I have stayed at, but it is a smaller property and the dinner options were the buffet and one restaurant that you needed reservations for. There was a place for lunch that was a highlight for lunch with some great shrimp tacos..

Beach is incredible, ocean views are amazing and being within walking distance to Hidalgo Street was super cool. Rating it a three because of that. Spa was also pretty great. All three of us had a nice massage.

Otherwise resort is terrible. It is run down and desperately needs updating. Beds are terrible, my husband and I kept rolling to middle because the mattress was sunken in the center. Scratchy sheets. The food is the WORST we have ever had at an all inclusive. Nothing was edible except toast. Being able to walk to Hidalgo and get amazing food was the only thing that saved that but we paid for all inclusive to not spend extra money on food. Truly the worst food. Wouldn’t go back because of that.

First off I'd like to say we love this place and have been many times. This time was mixed reviews for us. First and foremost is the staff, 100% the best people work at the Mia. JC has to be the best waiter on the island, but many others need a special mention, the entertainment staff is very friendly and awesome:
Saul, David, Geo, Kimberly, Naomi and Janny!!!! Jerry and Kimberly in the buffet, everyone at the blue moon lounge. I can honestly say it's the staff that keep us coming back. We had considered membership several times but with the cost of airfare from Canada, it just isn't in the cards right now. The biggest issue we have is the lack of upgrading to the rooms, the beds especially, the staff goes a long way to keep you happy, but it's not great when you have no choice but to sleep on mattresses that need to be replaced. The wooden stairs entering the ocean are covered in slippery seaweed and algae and half covered in astro turf, there are many broken lounge chairs... things that seem very easy to fix that would make this place a 10 out of 10. The maintenance staff are great and work so hard fixing so many things, it seems that money just isn't being spent to upkeep the basic things that would keep this place it peak condition. We generally love the beach here also, but this season there was quite a bit of the brown sargasm seaweed so the things you let go because of how great the staff are and how beautiful the beach is, you notice a bit more. We will return.

We were lucky we only had algae in the sea 1 day out of 4. It was very close to a shopping and restaurant center which was fun to explore at night.

We rented this place mainly for the beach. It is by far the best on the island, incredible is the only word to describe it! Good snorkelling a few steps into the water & shallow so you can float & chill for hours in crystal clear water.
The rooms are run down but very clean daily. Our air conditioner didn’t work & they moved rooms for us.
We were disappointed on our arrival bc the pictures on the website & Expedia are not what we got. All the pics have incredible full ocean views & ours was on the 4th floor so had a partial ocean view that you couldn’t see from the deck sitting. They moved us to the other side of the hotel as all the back ones have full ocean views & are beautiful as on Expedia.
It would be nice to put full or partial ocean view as this would be more accurate. The staff were helpful in accomodating this 2 days later when a room was ready.
Great showers! Beds are reasonably comfortable.
Food was subpar. Good breakfast buffet & the Mexican restaurant was a 5/10. The grill was less than 5. The ceviche bar open all day was delicious. We ate fish, shrimp & octopus tacos every day!
Staff are all incredible. Tip well, they deserve it!! They work hard!!
Lots of loungers & we never had a problem getting some anytime of the day! You ask staff for an umbrella & they set it up where you want it.
The most annoying thing the first few days was the staff trying to sell memberships to the resort. They are very pushy & follow you around. We were firm & they laid off.

The beach and views were 10/10. The hotel, villas, service and food were below par. I wouldn't go back. Moldy curtains, broken locks, shabby room conditions and unless you're a member the beach service is practically non existant. Front desk staff were not helpful. No running water or ability to flush toilet between 12am and 6am for our entire 2 week stay, and staff never answered us or got back to us even though we inquired about it 3 times. The buffet staff were great, food not so much. Just a complete letdown for the amount of money spent.

For being the oldest resort and surviving 2 major hurricanes Mia Reef is still a beautiful and well maintained resort. I’ve read reviews that complained about the rooms being out of date, the room was beautiful and clean and we weren’t there for the room. If I had a complaint about the room it would be the bed, small for a queen and rather hard, but we slept so….Couldn’t even tell you if the tv worked lol. We came for the atmosphere and the beach and the ocean and those did not disappoint. The staff was always friendly and welcoming and helpful. We ate at the buffet for several meals and the food was always good, maybe not always “Hot” but never cold ! We have already decided that we will go back and probably try out the villas next time, but we will definitely be going back.

Disgusting. Mold and mildew everywhere. Staff gave conflicting information from one day to the next. Beach chairs were gross and about 30 years old. No hygiene anywhere. Everything felt dirty from the glassware, plates, tabletops, towels, etc. would never recommend this place. Wish we had just checked out on day one.

All staff we encountered were fabulous. We especially loved our ocean villa, with a balcony overlooking the rocky shoreline and beautiful, clear blue water. Julio, in the sit down restaurants, was our favorite waiter and Esther and Laura gave wonderful messages.

Everything was fantastic! The staff were the friendliest I have seen in over 15 trips we have taken to Mexico. The rooms were clean and the view we had was amazing. The Mexican restaurant was top tier, loved it! Food and drinks were also great. No complaints what so ever. We will be going back! Fyi...we stayed 7 nights.

The rooms are a little dated but still clean and comfortable with great views. The pool was small and cold, but the amazing beach made up for it.
The food at Mia Reef was amazing, one of the best resort buffets I've ever been to.
However the best part of the whole trip was the service!! The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Kimberly Luna, JC and Mike were top-notch in the buffet and bar, and Thomas in the restaurant was also amazing. They all took care of us for the entire week.
I would highly recommend staying at this resort!

Food options were very limited. For the amount this resort costs, this resort is not worth it. The views and the ocean of the beach are beautiful that’s it. Our curtains has had some weird white chalk residue that would get all over you. I told the housekeeper and she said oh that’s how the rooms are. Once again, very limited food options and there’s a time here in the day that there’s no food available. Just keep that in mind.

The room was ok. No hot water, leaking sink. Construction every morning next door at 6am.
Luis in the bar area is the whole reason we go there. The whole staff is the reason to go. The hotel itself is horrible but the staff and location are amazing.
The constant badgering about joining the members club also was horrible and made it miserable every time you had to use the elevator.

The trip to MIA Reef was at the right time due to the weather at home. When we arrived on the ferry round trip $35.00 we walked to the resort, 15 minutes. When we arrived everyone was very nice. We were taken to our room 6008, looked just like the pictures on line. I noticed right away, the light switches were not wiped clean, the wood in the room needed to be painted or fixed where there was some damage, the lights on the wall by the bed on both sides had rust around the bottom of the shades and the bathroom was very small with the shower head that was loose. The balcony was nice and right on the ocean side.
We went to the buffet and the food was cold. There was plenty of food to choose from. We found that getting shrimp and steak grilled to order was the best way to go and it was hot. The next night we ate at the Mexican restaurant and the food was good and not cold. The Grill restaurant the next night the food was good but it was all cold. We were told about the Italian restaurant but you had to pay extra for it. I asked some people at the bar about their experience and it was very mixed. We decided not to spend the extra money on an iffy meal. Breakfast was always good and we loved getting made to order omelets every morning. The bar staff, very good and entertaining always with a smile.
The beach small, no problem getting a lounger. The fish come to you so bring bread to feed them.
The resort a 3 the location a 5 loved the water. Glad we went but would not go back

Rooms were very outdated - food was terrible . The 24 hr snack bar was a tray of pastry’s and packaged sandwiches. There is no room service at all . The 2 Al a Cartes were not good at all. We had an “Expedia “ bracelet which differentiated us from the others - which meant we did not have access to premium alcohol. We also only had access to the Italian restaurant and cafe (that served Starbucks) at an additional cost. I will say the staff were very pleasant and the location was incredible . I have been to Isla Mujeres many times but will not be returning to MIA Reef.

The hotel looks shabby. The food leaves much to be desired, with a limited selection and poor taste. Some of the dishes on the menu are not available in the restaurants. Leftover food from breakfast is served for lunch and dinner. There was no \"Do Not Disturb/Clean Room\" sign in the room. We complained twice at the front desk, but they never brought one. The curtains in the room do not close completely, and the light on the balcony stays on until midnight. One night, it stayed on until almost 4 a.m. There are terrible smells in the corridors.
The only good things are the water and sand. We have been to Mexico more than 10 times for work. This time we had the worst experience, and our vacation was ruined.

Stayed for 4 nights for our honeymoon and it was OK.

We got a deal and only paid $425 a night for a villa. If we paid full price, which I think is around $800-$900, I would have been super disappointed, as it’s not worth that much.

I enjoy a lot of seafood and variety of food, and I found the food to be quite good. My wife is a little bit pickier and struggled to find things to eat since the Buffett is small.

The hotel seemed a little run down, and some things seemed dirty.

The villa room seemed fine/nice and we didnt have any issues with that.

The staff are really nice, and service for food and drinks were fast and friendly.

They try to focus on their premium membership a lot, and not all things are included unless you upgrade to their membership, which I think is $100+ per month.

When I go to an all inclusive, I want everything to be included, not only included if I join their membership program.

Since the island the hotel is on is so small, there’s not much to do at the resort. So plan on walking to main land isla mujeres, unless you like sitting on the beach all day.

When I made the reservation I asked for a room for disabled person. I was told it was subject to availability but was noted on my reservation. Upon arrival NO ROOM available. We were given a room with a big motor noise just below our balcony. We could not sleep so we had to insist to move us...first they said no room avaiilable then a room on upper floor was available..The person said normally we would have to charge you for the price difference...it was not adapted to my husband difficulty to walk and cannot shower standing up...for the price we pay per night...a better service would be nice...lots of stairs...ramps are steep and dangerous...mexicain restaurant is great ...internet is weak in the rooms...beach and views are fantastik
