What a lovely place to spend a leisurely afternoon and evening. Dinner was spectacular and so reasonably priced. We took a couple walks and sat outside on our lovely patio area. One warning though -- do NOT leave your shoes or any clothing outside. We had a pair of drying socks and shoes and a bra munched on (one shoe was actually taken away to be found completely demolished the following morning) by the cute but wily Sicilian foxes living onsite! They were pretty bold and we needed to make lots of noise to get them to move away from the \"patio of treats.\" A small price to pay for a beautiful stay.

Italy movie set

Jewel in the hills…a gifted decorator at work, every view is photogenic. Friendly staff, good food, well marked road leading to this isolated agriturismo. We highly recommend-would be a fantastic destination venue.

The buildings and grounds were historic and beautiful. Rooms were large and modern with a spacious terrace with a view. Pool was fantastic. The only disappointment was the restaurant. Otherwise, a fabulous and relaxing place to stay.

Hikers paradise

A truly spectacular agriturismo hotel. Our itinerary was fixed else we would have stayed another night as there are many hiking and quad itineraries possible. Hotel is immaculate, there was a small tour group from USA that made dinner a bit rushed with a prix fixed meal that was not explained to us.

We really enjoyed our too brief stay here. Vecchia Masseria has a lovely countryside location with great views. Quite a long drive along an unmade up road (due to the forests we were told) but this means peace and quiet.
Make sure you book the evening meal as quite a long way to nearest town. The meal was excellent; dishes just kept coming!

Worth the trouble to find this place!

Here’s what you need to know: your satellite-driven GOS will NOT find this hidden gem and you will spend an hour traipsing around trying to locate your lodging. And then, when you do, it will no longer matter... because the place is so calming, so pretty, so peaceful.
Dinners here are home style, filling and delicious. Pop for a few extra Euros and order their better wines to complement the food.
Don’t miss the Vila Romana del Castel which is nearby and probably my the best reason to stay at this agrotourismo lodging.

The hotel grounds are very pretty and kept up well. The breakfast was fantastic with lots of wonderful selections of fresh foods and pastries. The dinner was very nice with a fixed menu using locally sourced foods at a reasonable price. We had a nice lunch on the patio. The internet was only available in public areas. The air conditioning didn't work well and fan in our room so noisy the neighbor complained. When asked for someone to fix it we were told it wasn't possible. You could only access maps to hiking paths by scanning a bar code which didn't work for us. A paper map would have been nice. It's a couple of kilometers down a gravel road but easy to find by GPS.

Very comfortable lodgings out of the noise and traffic of tje town. Very pleasamt fro. The first moment to check out. Staff super friendly and dinner was high class and plentiful. Wished we jad more rime there to explore the large property by hokes amd avaliable quad bikes to hire. 10 out of 10

Total relaxation in Sicilian countryside

We had a lovely 3 night early spring stay. There is a pool and hot tubs with great views all the way to the sea. The staff are very professional and friendly. The room where we stayed was brand new and very tastefully furnished and the drencher shower was fantastic. All in all, the best thing about Masseria is the food; make sure you are having dinner here. Dinner is at 7.30 every evening and is all cooked fresh with local produce. It is a set menu - antipasti (3 shared between 2 persons), first and second courses, dessert, a bottle of wine and water all part of the single dinner price. The food was most impressive and every credit is due to the chef and staff for producing it. Don't miss the dinner!
We like to make a cup of tea in our room when we travel and there was no kettle in the room. However we just asked and the staff readily produced a kettle and cups for us - absolutely no problem! Thank You.

I would definitely come back!

The hotel is located in a great location, a perfect place to escape for a few days.
The view over the mountains is breathtaking.
The buildings are in perfect condition, very authentic farm style. The hotel restaurant is good value for money, food is classic traditional Italian.
The swimming pool and the jacuzzis are the cherry on top!

Family run luxury

Beautiful place. Room was lovely, not a balcony/patio as stated but we did have a glass birdbox to look into! Staff are so helpful, and the place has the feel of somewhere a lot more expensive and exclusive.
We were B&B, and the breakfast was ample. We choose the evening meal option, as we didn't fancy driving around at night looking for restaurants. The food is superb, 3 starters each, primi and secondi dishes and dessert, with a really nice house wine.
Pool area is really attractive and the 'animal'area is quirky, with birds, goats, horses and an ostrich to visit.
Staff have a couple of dogs, a retriever and a rottweiler, but they are docile. The young manager and his team are very attentive.
You're not too far from Caltagirone, approx 25mins, which has plenty of eateries, and the LaScala steps.

Beautiful setting.

Lovely pool and nicely appointed rooms. Our room did not have a view but only one night so not a problem. Dinner was sensational. Wedding was taking place but in separate part so did not affect our enjoyment.

Wonderful relaxing B&B

This is a lovely working farm property with gracious grounds and rooms for B&B guests. Beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Pool looked wonderful (too cold in October). The upscale restaurant serves a magnificent buffet breakfast which is included. The multi-course dinner option was also delicious but too much food for us so we only ate in their restaurant one evening. Nearby towns of Piazza Armerina and Caltagirone are nice to explore and we enjoyed dinner there. Must see the Roman mosaics just outside Piazza Armerina- amazing!
Note: long unpaved driveway from main road. no problem if go slowly

A most beautiful and relaxing stay

The location and road up to the property had us very concerned as it was hard to find. But was it worth it!! The setting was so relaxing after being in so many cities. Wish we would have had more time. If you are willing to add some travel time to you visits of the sites this is the place to be.

Beautiful hotel and setting but it is in the middle of nowhere. The food was excellent but there is a fixed menu each night. If you don't want to eat in it would be quite a drive to somewhere else.

The facilities at Vecchia Masseria are excellent. A beautifully sited pool and jacuzzi, the best breakfast we had in Sicily and very comfortable rooms. Well worth the two kilometre drive along an unmade road to get there. The staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient. Strongly recommended.

Great away from it alĺ location

Beautiful location Set menu for dinner. My wife has a can't eat cheese and we told the hotel when we checked in. They provided an alternative dish for each element which included cheese. Great breakfast buffet.

Un luogo molto suggestivo immerso nella natura . La nostra camera era nuova ,ampia e pulita , anche se forse quelle nel corpo centrale , rustiche e arredate con mobili di una volta sono più fascinose .

Anlage war schön aber wir fühlten uns nicht willkommen. Morgens um 09:15h (wir haben ja Ferien) war praktisch keine Auswahl mehr vorhanden und man deckte bereits für den Mittag +/oder das Abendessen ein.. Abendessen war fein, jedoch nach 30 Minuten war alles vorbei. Es war die reinste Abfertigung. Wirklich sehr schade!!!

Fine settimana di relax

Abbiamo trascorso la giornata di sabato con partenza la domenica mattina e l'unico rimpianto e' stato quello di non aver avuto la possibilità di passare più tempo in questa struttura.
Tutto e' stato perfetto dall'arrivo alla camera, la cena e' stata superlativa, con un occhio di riguardo alla qualità e ai sapori.
La colazione della domenica e' continentale ed e' molto abbondante.
Ci siamo ripromessi di tornare magari per tre giorni che secondo me sono il minimo per staccare con tutto...

Eden au milieu à la croisée des chemins

Très belle masseria refaite avec goût. Le restaurant est très bon, il y a 2 jacuzzis + une piscine. Les chambres sont simples mais bien.
