Staff were wonderful and welcoming and we were upgraded to a room with a balcony. Views across the water were lovely! Also, very walkable to restaurants and the Montagna and the medieval town.

Unfortunately, construction/renovation within the hotel (top floor?) started around 8:30am and was quite disruptive. We had already been woken up at 8am by the loud 8am daily flag raising ceremony at the US naval base across the street.

Good value, helpful staff

This hotel is well-located and easily-walkable to little shops and cafes. The price was fair for the room (and breakfast!) and we got a room with a balcony which was lovely. The staff was all super helpful and even accomodated our strange requests including helping me figure out how to use the washer/dryer. Thanks so much for a nice stay!

Very conveniently located, walking distance to medieval city and restaurants, super friendly staff. There is a free shuttle to the beach and Agostino will take you there in no time. Ideal for sightseeing and exploring Gaeta and also going to the beaches . There is also a small gym with latest Technogym equipment on third floor, to workout with a dramatic view over the bay .

We stayed her on a road trip through Italy and we were very pleased with our experience. The hotel staff went above and beyond and assisted us in planning our walking tour of the city. Gary’s is such a beautiful place and everything was lit up for the holidays. I mean they went all out. The hotel is located directly between the old and new towns and we were able to walk to both with no problems. Our only complaint is that the pillows are only pillows in the most academic sense. They were more like bath towels wrapped in a pillowcase. And thin bath towels at that. The rooms need a serious upgrade in the bedding department. However we would definitely stay here again given the convenient location, private Parking and outstanding staff.

I hope No one stays here at hotel Gaeta. I had 3-4 rooms booked and our trip to Italy was canceled due to COVID 19, so we couldn’t get there unless we swam. The hotel WOULD NOT give us a refund so I lost about 800 dollars!!! All the other hotels gave us refunds . I would have taken a credit but that wasn’t offered. Expedia is an awful booking agency also. They kept saying it was a non- cancelled room. I totally respect that BUT I didn’t cancel , the airline did .

A very happy stay!

We arrived for the Festival of Lights and stayed an extra night to see it all. The location was perfect, waterfront views, easy and close parking access. Our room was bright and clean,, bed very comfortable, bedding spotless and the included breakfast was all we needed to start our day. We will definitely return.

Yes please with our choice of Hotel Gajeta and enjoyed our stay. Nicely positioned between the old town and the more commercial area. Staff were great with their limited English and my non existent Italian. All hotel was very clean. As will all of Italy could do with a little maintenance - plug in WHB didn't work (mechanism requires tightening) and a noisy extractor (stripped down and blades clean would possibly help).

Check-in was great and easy to park. The hotel has a space in front of the hotel for collecting the keys, unloading luggage with an elevator up to reception. Then park the car in the secure lot right alongside the hotel. We booked late and last-minute so the room was not the best although very large and quiet. The staff gave great recommendations for dining. Walking to the old town was pleasant and scenic at night. The breakfast was good with plenty of choices. Very exceptional staff and manager of the hotel. As an American living overseas, it was fun to hear the Star Spangled Banner being played at 08:00...who knew there was a US Naval Base across the street from the hotel. Lovely views from the hotel terrace.

A friend and I booked this about an hour before showing up. We were looking for separate beds but had chosen the lowest-cost room, which had only one large bed. Our charming and friendly front-desk person was nice enough to give us an upgrade.

The room was very clean and comfortable. WiFi worked very well. Breakfast was good and there was a great balcony upstairs. The walk to town was easy and it was fun to explore. My only complaint was that the advertised bicycles were not available.

The first time we stayed here was in the winter and we had an excellent experience. When we decided to go back to Gaeta in the summer we figured we would stay at Hotel Gajeta again. Although the hotel and staff were still great, we found our stay to be quite uncomfortable. The air conditioning is terrible! It barely blows out any air, there is no way for it to actually cool a room. It was uncomfortable to sleep in, especially being on the 4th floor. We woke up sweating both nights. Overall, good hotel for winter, terrible for summer... which is a shame because summer is the best time to go and enjoy the beaches.

The property was directly in front of the US Navy Base. We enjoyed seeing the Navy ship docked. At 8am was the raising of the flag ceremony. The US and Italian anthems were played over a loudspeaker as each flag was raised. It was really beautiful. The property was in a perfect location—in one direction there are lots of restaurants—in the other, there are shops on a long tucked away street behind the main street (where the fishing boats are). We like our stay so much that we changed our vacation plans to stay there again at the end of our 2 week vacation.

Lovely stay in Gaeta, Italy

We loved everything about Hotel Gajeta. The staff was so wonderfull, pleasant and helpful. The setting is gorgeous, just a mere 10 minute walk to the center of the old city and right across the street from the water. The third floor covered patio is an added plus. It's a perfect place to relax when returning in the afternoons. The full breakfast was very good each morning. We would be thrilled to stay there again.

The Hotel Gajeta is walking distance from just about everything! We would frequently walk to Old Town to get ice cream or lunch, walk along the embarcadero to enjoy the scenery and look at the fish in the water, and walk over to the beach to enjoy a relaxing day. Hotel itself was very clean, our room was spacious, wifi connectivity was strong, and we always had a spot to park in their lot. Excellent stay!

A two night stop in Gaeta

This off season stop in Gaeta on our way north was ok. The port side was alive and nice but the beach side was still asleep. The hotel was ok. The The wifi did not work in the room.
The staff was very kind and helpful and spoke good english.

Our phenomenal view!

Our whole experience is enveloped into one word phenomenal. The Gajeta team were warm and very helpful. Gajeta is located in the Golfo di Gaeta. The view from our lovely spacious room and balcony took my breath away. If you love water and mountains like I do, you must go to Gajeta Hotel. I believe they have several rooms facing the gulf. The medieval city has gourmet restaurants to meet everyone's wallet size. The architecture to be marvelled. The beaches to be enjoyed!

Very clean and comfortable. We upgraded to a view room and the road below did not cause any noise problems. It was worth doing. Breakfast was very good as the woman made us several lattes. Gaeta is very quiet in March though..not a lot going on.

This hotel was nothing special. The shower was particularly poor. The shower head was kept in place with a plastic bag tied underneath. The shower also did not drain properly. At breakfast we had to ask for more bread to be put out. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I will certainly not be staying here again.

A Lovely Place to Stay in a Peaceful Town

Hotel Gajeta is conveniently placed between the old and new sides of Gajeta, in easy walking distance to both the harbour and the church that dominates the old town. We had a couple of different rooms to choose from and chose the larger one without a balcony. If you can, try and get a balcony as the view is nice and it's interesting to watch the activities on the naval base across the street. The room we had on the second floor was quite spacious. The hotel itself is very unique, as each floor seems to have multiple sets of stairs and levels. The hotel faces the harbour and it's fun to watch the fishing boats come in with their catch at the end of the day. There is a patio on the top floor that very few people use, so it's a great place to sit and tan. Hotel staff are friendly and eager to answer questions and make recommendations.

Overall the hotel was fine, room, bar area and breakfast room were clean and comfortable. The thing that spoiled our holiday was the fact that their was no Wi-Fi. When we first arrived we were told that the wi-fi wasn't working in the whole area, including the hotel reception, but by day 2 the wi fi was working for the hotel and it was only guests who didn't have any. This was then the case for the duration of our 4 night stay.

A Gem in Gaeta

This is a beautiful hotel with wonderful, helpful staff and a lovely location. We had a terrace off our room overlooking the port. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet, perfect as we had been up for almost 36 hours from traveling. They had a very nice selection for breakfast and it was an easy walk to explore the old, narrow streets and stroll around the harbor.

A very pleasant stay and a gorgeous view

We had only one night in Gaeta toward the end of our Italy trip. It was an opportunity to unwind after hectic visits in places like Florence and Rome and this hotel proved to be the perfect location for unwinding. Since the tourist season for seaside resorts was over we were not bothered by crowds. The hotel itself is lovely and fitted our needs perfectly. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us by providing an early breakfast as we had to catch an early bus back to Formia to get our train to Naples. The view from our room of Gaeta Gulf and the mountains backing on the far shore toward Naples was spectacular, though the security measures for the NATO base across the road on the waterfront meant that photos were out. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

This hotel was conveniently situated in between the old town and harbour and the main shopping area. Perhaps a 10 to 15 min walk from each. The hotel was very clean and the service excellent. We were provided with free breakfast, to our surprise, and an upgrade to a suite. Therefore we had kitchen and fridge facilities, dining area, settee - very comfortable. The hotel, whilst being on the main road, next to the sea and along the harbour, was very quiet at night. Parking was ideal, right outside the main entrance. A special parking permit was given to us so we could use it at any time until we left the town, which was well after our check out time. A nice touch was when we were checking out, the drinks we had ordered on our arrival were offered free as a 'welcome' from the hotel. We would recommend this hotel and its positioning near to the old partr of the town with a beautiful aspect across the Bay of Gaeta. In fact, we did not see any other hotels in the old town. For sun and beach it's but a short drive to the other side of town. People were also very friendly in the shopping area.

Il costo della camera è sproporzionato rispetto alla struttura, un tre stelle, ed alla camera grande si, ma con un bagno vecchio e piuttosto mal mantenuto, una vasca idromassaggio enorme in camera, ma vecchia che certamente non invogliava neppure un pediluvio. Il personale molto gentile.

struttura caratteristica probabilmente ricavata dalla ristrutturazione di un palazzo tipico, nell'insieme gradevole.
posizione comoda per la visita a Gaeta medievale, al centro ed alla spiaggia di serapo.
i prezzi a mio avviso sono leggermente alti, soprattutto quelli delle camere superior, ma la struttura è da provare

Fantastisk kaffe og godt beliggende hotel!

Dejligt sted, men også lidt koldt. Og de ville ikke tænde for varmen, eller stille en enkelt elektrisk radiator til rådighed.

Dejlig udsigt og venligt og hjælpsomt personale. Virkelig god italiensk kaffe til morgen buffeten.

Byen Gaeta var næsten vinterlukket. De fleste restauranter var lukkede, så dele af den gamle bydel var næsten en spøgelses by om aftenen. Stranden var til gengæld lækker og vi badede med stor fornøjelse i havet i oktober måned.
