After a long train ride check in was very unprofessional! I stood about an hour waiting to check in because they had a large check in event with kids which we understand but at one point only only lady was working on them and when two more got involved, one could’ve ventured off and help us which they didn’t. Finally a guy stepped in and helped but it wasn’t a proper welcome. Just gave us the key told us where the elevator was and that’s it. The only reason I gave two stars for the staff is because they did set up a taxi for us on departure. If you’re looking to swim outside in a pool here don’t get fooled by the pictures pool looked extremely small and old and had a fence around it, so it wasn’t able to be used. If you want to go down and relax at the beach just know it’s $30 eu to lounge in a chair. During our stay it was colder and the town was literally a ghost town late May. There’s hardly any restaurants to eat at so I’d probably never come back to not just the hotel but the city in general. I did hear in July and August the city is very lively due to Italians vacationing. There’s a few things to see though the church on the hill with the Jesus statue overlooking the city and the church that leads to split mountain. I’d advise to stay in Sperlonga and do a day trip to Formia and visit those sites and just head back. Sperlonga is so much nicer!

We only stayed one night and that was enough. They say Handicap accessible they are not. I have to go to back of building to get elevator, i can not get to reception area. They do not help you with your luggage. We had dinner there and they had to have at least 60 kids in restaurant yelling and screaming. It was so loud we couldnt talk across the table. The waiter could have told us about it before we sat. My wife ordered scampi which is normally Aglio Oglio but it came out red sauce and didnt change it. Also if your a hotel and have 300 TV channels you should have at least one that has English language.

Probably the worst stay as far as service and comfortable room in 30 years. I was there the third week of July. I am not sure if it was because I was American, but nearly everyone I met, other than one bartender and the guy at reception who checked me out the last morning, were rude and inattentive. I tried to eat lunch there twice and never received service. Other tables sat down after me and all were waited upon. I left after 15 minutes. The parking is a nightmare. Not sure if it standard or because it is the height of tourist season. Though they have parking for the hotel, it was overcrowded and the attendants were rarely available and rude, like they were doing me a favor. It took two full days for the air conditioner to make the room even a comfortable temperature. A small oscillating fan would have been a huge benefit. And the rooms are spartan at best. The most redeeming quality of the hotel is its location.

This was a great place to stay during our driving trip from Sorrento to Bologna. The area and beaches were basically empty and it seemed like we had this part of Gaeta all to ourselves. I’m sure it was because we arrived a little early in the vacation season though. There were many places open (stores, restaurants, beach bars) but as I said, we had them all to ourselves - which was good in a way. The walking hike up on the hill next to hotel was great. We ended up walking through old Gaeta and along the port which had beautiful views.

I was visiting a friend in Gaeta. I stayed for a week. I am from the US. Get the ocean view with a balcony. The view is great. I usually stay in Hiltons and Marriotts. This is comparable, with a few very minor exceptions. No waste can in bedroom only in bathroom. Furniture slightly more worn, not bad though, at all. The staff were very good. Breakfast was international style. Restaurant food was good. Technology was obviously outdated because things were on paper at the front desk. On the whole for the price, beachfront you cannot beat it.

Hotel Serapo is in a great location right on the beach. Many amenities are not open mid October. Private beach is closed, pool is closed. A bit confusing to figure out where the restaurant is. There are 2 buildings. The beds and pillows were evil. Nice staff.

Liked: right on serapo beach, easy cheap parking, nice balcony, good breakfast, close to everything in gaeta, 5 min drive to old gaeta. Cons: walls are thin so you can hear people being intimate, babies crying for hours, peolple literally doing anything, rooms and facilities are ugly and beyond out dated, showers are tiny and theres no room to be inside w the doors closed so your floor will have water everywhere when youre done, staff does not care about their guests i didnt have towels in my room after they cleaned so i called the front desk and asked for some at 1330 they said okay we will take them to you i come back at 1530 to no towels again and not able to shower, so i go to the front desk and they told me at 1900 they would have the cleaning lady bring me towels i said no now, so they said okay we will bring them. I go down to the beach for an hour come to my room.. no towels.. so i go to the front desk and this woman gives me towels after laughing at me. I go to the room only to find that all the towels were smaller. A blonde hair blue eye man was the person i spoke to multiple times and lied to me multiple times about bringing towels. This hotel desk staff treat their guests bad so does the short hair chubby parking guy who wont move the barriers for you to park. The hotel is terribly decorated its weird. If it wasnt cheap and on the beach i wouldnt have stayed there but i wont again... awful service

This is a beautiful location right on the ocean. Room was clean. Check in was easy. The shower was good
That is where the good ends.
During our stay there were multiple school groups staying that would take over the hotel, constant yelling and noise. We stayed 4 Nights, our room was over a patio and 3 of the 4 nights the teenagers had a party on the patio with the music so loud it shook the room. When we complained the first night they said it was only 1 night but that was not true- it continued the next two.
Staff was not helpful at all and did not have any consideration for other paying guests.
The have a beautiful beach but they would not provide a chair to sit at it. Breakfast was not self serve, and you felt they discouraged you to ask for items.
Overall it was very disappointing and I would advise anyone looking at booking g this hotel to inquire if there are any school groups booked in at that time.

The hotel was lovely,the only down side was that I booked a lovely room online and a few hrs later discovered it was for the wrong date, they would not change the date, i knew it was not refundable and only wanted to make the stay sooner. I had to book the same room a second time and no accomodation was made for my booking date error. I had already confirmed plans to meet friends there.

The location is excellent so we hope the hotel does some renovation. It feels more like an old retirement home or hospital than a hotel. The “wellness center” should be a museum as the machines are the same you would find in a museum or trash dump, very dangerous at best. There is no floor, workers and dust everywhere. The rooms don’t have even a water bottle available, beds are terrible, pillows laughable, shower unusable, nothing works .. the women cleaning don’t even have carts on all 4 wheels... the indoor pool they advertise is open for guests one hour a day, during dinner. Again, they have a great location near the beach and walking distance to town, but we couldn’t bear even 5 minutes in the room

Great location!

We booked 3 rooms at the hotel, all three were ready and clean when we got there. The woman who checked us in spoke English, which was helpful. We checked in on October 2nd. On September 30th, the hotel pool and private beach close. So, if the weather is nice, like it was for our stay, your on-site activities are limited. Also on September 30th, the AC is shut off; Our rooms overlooked the beach, which meant afternoon sun, which meant hot rooms. There are small balconies but no screens so leaving the windows/doors open was not a great idea due to the flies and mosquitoes. The grounds of the hotel are nice, but the surrounding area has A LOT of garbage laying around, thus adding to the fly problem.

Perfect spot in Gaeta- on a lovely beach!

This is the place to stay in Gaeta. You are directly on the beach! Get a sea view room and you'll have a balcony to watch the sea and gorgeous sunsets. They renovated and the showers are spacious and well designed. Breakfast was excellent, in summer months you can enjoy it on a terrace. A small pool but why bother with Serapo( the beach) so close. This beach is pure sand and the water has no rocks or obstructions of any kind! You can walk to Gaeta Vecchia, the City Center, enjoy a park across the street and lots of fun for kids nearby with go- karts etc! Very reasonable and the staff was pleasant and accommodating!

Hotel Serapo is in a great location on the beach, but also a short walk from charming old town Gaeta. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful. The garden on the hotel grounds was beautiful. Our stay was in early April, so the hotel pool was not ready for the tourist season yet, however it looked like it would be very nice once open.

Staying well out of season, the hotel was extremely quiet, and a lot of maintenence was being done. It was comfortable and has a great location on the sea. The wifi was quite problematic, mostly only available in reception, sometimes not even there. Hard if you need it for work. Breakfast was better than your standard cake and coffee, though not luxurious. Swimmimg pool and gym are a public facility much used by local clubs, but free to use when not being used by them. The gym was old-fashioned and poorly equipped by today's standards, but that's not the hotel's domain,as I understood it. The matress could have been hugher quality.

Hotel was clean & right on the beach. Breakfast was typical continental but not hit choice just bread & pastry. had dinner one night it the restaurant & it was ok.

We were in the annexe at the rear of the hotel, which was in need of some TLC.

Staff were happy to help & fixed the problem we had with the air con.

Only real complaint was the cost of the Sunbeds on their beach. €20 a day was expensive when the next section of beach was only €10 & next door by less than 10m

Terrific family hotel in fabulous position

We had a family room on the top (third) third floor. The room was very clean and had a small balcony overlooking the beach- lovely! Only faults were uncomfortable beds and air-con that needed to be slightly colder. Everything else excellent, good breakfast, lovely garden/ pool area, gym and indoor pool, very clean sandy beach, spectacular town- loved it!

The room was clean and quiet but VERY basic. Empty night stands, no decoration- it felt like a dorm room. The view from the balcony was nice, the breakfast was fine. We did not know that the private beach requires you to rent chairs each day (16E for 2 chairs or 20E with the umbrella). For the price and location, the hotel was acceptable.

Lovely location right at the beach.We didnt use the meal service as there were wonderful restaurants very close in medieval Gaeta and we always prefer to eat elsewhere. The breakfast was better than at most Italian hotels ehere i have stayed so ithat counts. Parking was in a private lot right across the street.

We talked to friends who stayed in similar digs in Sperlonga. during this same week and they paid a lot more for what seems to be a very similar situation.

Great location on the beach in Serapo!

The location of the hotel is ideal for enjoying the beach, visiting Gaeta, Sperlonga, etc in the area. We were there in the off season (Mar) so it was not very crowded (and most restaurants, etc were closed) but the weather was great so we were able to enjoy all of the sites.

Also, we found a great little restaurant where we had a nice, Italian lunch with lots of great seafood called Nari in the old part of Gaeta. The people were very friendly and this really made out whole trip very nice.

Overall, we would stay there again - on the weekend I believe it is a bit loud due to the club next to the hotel but was OK with our 2 year old as we stayed on the opposite side of the hotel.

Aamiainen oli pettymys. Jonotat pitkään saadaksesi osoittaa tiskille mitä haluat. Ja valikoima oli huono.
Hotelli sijaitsi hienolla paikalla kallion kyljessä aivan rannalla.

T te Piacevole soggiorno .. ottimo personale in reception sempre cordiali e puntuali… eccezionale posizione per accessibilità alla spiaggia del Serapo .. mare e paesaggio eccellente.
Un po’ sacrificato lo spazio per i parcheggi.

Nella prenotazione era inclusa la piscina, ma non il servizio spiaggia. Tuttavia, non sono stato informato di questa distinzione e mi è stato fatto credere che anche il servizio spiaggia fosse incluso. Ho scoperto solo il giorno del check-out che il servizio spiaggia era disponibile, ma come extra da pagare separatamente rispetto alla prenotazione. Ritengo sia un atteggiamento disonesto non informare chiaramente dei costi aggiuntivi, per poi speculare per 25€. Letteralemnte si \"perdono in un bicchier d'acqua\"
